Cloud Network Slicing (CNS), emerging alongside the 5G mobile network, comprises a paradigm shift in the way networks are provisioned, managed, and operated. Fundamentally, CNS fosters the deployment of a multitude of modern applications, e.g., virtual and augmented reality, 4K video streaming, and autonomous vehicles, which require ultra-low latency, high bandwidth consumption, or both. Slicing promotes the realization of such services through the allocation of computing and network resource bundles, which, as CNS mandates, are isolated from the rest of the network. Typically, such resources are arranged into wide geographical areas (e.g., into multiple countries or even continents), which implies that it is possible to pertain to distinct infrastructure providers. This exacerbates the already challenging problem of maximizing resource allocation efficiency, a feature commonly addressed by CNS architectures. In this respect, we study the optimal assignment of slices to multiple domains. Therefore, we account for slices as a collection of computing and network parts. Given specific resource requirements from slice tenants, and potentially multiple offers per slice part, we model the problem as a Mixed Integer Linear Program (MILP). We further design two heuristic algorithms, in order to mitigate the complexity intricacies that would be perceptible in large problem instances. Our evaluation results, based on a simulation environment aligned with the NECOS architecture, indicate that the MILP approach had a better performance compared to both the heuristics in choosing the cheapest offers with a fair amount of performance parameters in an adequate execution time. Our main contribution stands on the optimization methods based on the split and combine approach inserted in the novel NECOS' CNS architecture.

In Brazil, in particular, civil construction is a traditional industry that, despite the increasingly frequent technological and managerial innovations, the vast majority of work is still carried out manually. The association of functions that require the use of intense, repetitive physical efforts, improvised postures and body movements with inadequate conditions and low qualification can be harmful and cause damage to the health of workers. That said, the main objective of this work, which consists of evaluating the ergonomic conditions associated with the execution of the screed service, was built within this context from the identification of a knowledge gap and the need to disseminate the importance and impact of carrying out ergonomic analysis that can positively reflect on the worker's life. Three ergonomics assessment tools were used to carry out the analysis and obtain a diagnosis, which pointed out the ergonomic risks that the worker responsible for carrying out the screed was exposed, identifying the most critical steps and activities of this service. Such tools were: MET (The Standard Metabolic Equivalent), in which the energy expenditure was evaluated, REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment), in which the postures of the whole body in the use of activities were evaluated, and EWA (Ergonomic Workplace Analysis), in which the “Lifting of Loads” (physical factor), “Accident Risk” (organizational factor) and “Communication between Workers and Personal Contacts” (cognitive factor) were evaluated. In order to obtain this diagnosis, direct observations, interviews and photographic records, including filming, of workers and workstations for data collection were carried out, which were subsequently processed based on the listed ergonomic assessment tools. Among the results obtained with the realization of the case studies, the following stand out: "Materials Supply" and "Waste Removal" tasks predominating as heavy work (MET), a higher percentage of very high risk postures in the "Screed Layer Production” task, mainly during the activities of “smooth” and “rub” (REBA), and the “Mortar Production” task and “Load Lifting” factor presenting the biggest numbers of negative classifications (EWA). It is safe to affirm that the performance of the screed service presents evident ergonomic risks, especially those related to the postures required. This research proved to be contributory for notifying such risks, proposing improvements and highlighting the ergonomics associated with civil construction.

Biotechnology is the central object of study, it will be classified here as an activity originated in the boundary between science (chemical and biological) and engineering, under the influence of several sets of values, with a ruling expression of capital and market values in the moment of application. Thus, it ruptures with the conception that “science is value free” and destabilizes the scientific ideals of neutrality and autonomy. The main objective of this work is to reflect how the application of biotechnology is conducted and what are the consequences of the professionals actions in terms of expression of values. The method used was the literature review. The analysis undertaken in this study made possible to note the existence of “control of nature” as a necessary condition for biotechnology, which does not imply in the direct link of biotechnologies to market values. Such an assertion will be corroborated by the application of biotechnology in projects that articulate and express values of sustainability, social justice and democratic participation. Although there is a relationship with capital and market values, it is possible to apply biotechnology oriented according to a “context-sensitive strategy”. It is hoped that this discussion will contribute to the diffusion of the postmodern critique of science within biotechnology, in order to instill the critical self-awareness in biotechnology students and professionals.

Early childhood education in the country has been offered in a polarized way between schooling practices for part-time preschools and welfare practices for day-care centers on a full-time basis. However, since the incorporation of this last stage into the education system, there has been a transformation in the provision of care due to pressure from social movements. In addition, the very conception of a child, when changing historically, created the need to formulate educational policies that advocate the balance between caring and educating - two pillars of the triad that is completed with playing - as well as advances in studies on child development demonstrated the relevance of ensuring the quality of the experiences provided to young children in children's equipment, whether part-time or full-time. This research arises from the perception that the offer of full-time work, characterized by the child's long stay within the school space, demands the elaboration of quality educational policies so that, during the entire period spent at school, comprehensive formation is offered for this audience. As a problem, he questions whether, in extending the time spent in kindergarten, children would be guaranteed to play, educate and care, thus addressing their limits and possibilities. In this dimension, the general objective of the study is to analyze the supply and attendance of early childhood education in the school system of Rio Claro, a municipality in the interior of São Paulo; its specific objectives sought to characterize this reality in the researched education school system, as well as to examine the conceptions of children, childhood and early childhood education present in the official texts for education in the city where the research was located. As methodological designs, the research was undertaken through bibliographic research, document analysis and semi-structured interviews with the management team of the municipal education department. The results of the study showed that the main challenges and difficulties for the development of full-time educational work are related to the fragmentation between the care-to-educate functions and the persistence of care concepts still present in educational practices in early childhood education that work full time, that when they understand the role of the school as a place for childcare, they offer basic care and a hobby, thus compromising the comprehensive education necessary for childhood. Finally, the research points out that, although the legislation has advanced at the federal, state and municipal levels, there is still a need for improvement so that the integral education effectively occurs in the full-time day in Brazilian early childhood education.

In the 1990s, camelôs1 who worked in the streets and squares of Cuiabá were relocated in a new space, still precarious and far from the city center. Over the years, this space has undergone transformations, guaranteeing a "mall" structure. Workers, formerly informal, are now registered and legalized, their activities have been reframed, with the entrepreneurial ideal, a term by which they have come to identify themselves. This research aimed to understand how this reframing took place, and to what extent the entrepreneurship idea was incorporated by workers, as well, as their perceptions about the galerização2 policies implemented by the government, which were questioned by them for a long time. The analytical framework sought to recover the debate on informality and its transformations in recent decades, in a context of more flexible work relations and neoliberal polices. And also, the importance of social networks to understand the strategies used by workers to stay in the activity. The workers, now small entrepreneurs, of Shopping Popular de Cuiabá (MT) were empirical. The research consisted of observation of the work, application of questionnaires to build a profile of these workersentrepreneurs and in-depth interviews. We note the internalization of the entrepreneurial ideals and the erasure of the previous history as camelôs, which is reflected, among other things, as they reinterpret the public policies of business activity.

Mulheres viajantes a sororidade no turismo impulsionada pelas redes sociais
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-01-29) Souza, Caroline Oliveira de; Silva, Vanda Aparecida da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9920701759600807; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4063730332336665
The research is based on the assumption that information and communication technology (ICT) provided a relational network of unity among women travelers, inspiring and motivating them to move. Therefore, the objective of this research will be to investigate before the ICT platforms the effects provided by traveling users, mainly related to the motivation that lead them to travel, their experiences resulting from travel, as well as their sharing via digital network media. As specific objectives we seek to a) Interview women travelers to understand what effects these shared experiences provide on digital media platforms; b) Describe and list the contents found; c) Identify the profile of women, as well as their main motivations for travel. The procedures resulting from the execution took place through qualitative and quantitative research using virtual ethnography. The researched sample was composed of sixty-six users with a traveling profile, three of them with semistructured interviews conducted virtually, and also, analysis of four groups of sociability in digital networks. In this study, the absence of platforms or official information produced by the Ministry of Tourism was identified. There is a lack of appropriations by public bodies, in general, to articulate better information on the topic. When verifying the answers and the semi-structured interviews, it was analyzed how much greater the complexity of each personal experience because it managed to show a small part of the situation experienced by each one of them.
