Given this multidisciplinary nature, a wide variety of challenges are presented to its practitioners, as a wide range of skills is required to train models and put them into production. Part of these challenges can be solved with the help of machine learning tools and platforms. In this context, the Apache Marvin-AI is an open-source machine learning platform that offers a standardized way to develop and put machine learning models into production. While Apache Marvin-AI has a lot to offer for novices and data scientists who do not have the software engineering skills to deal with the aforementioned issues, it lacks features desired by more advanced users. To solve this problem, an architectural evolution and evaluation was carried out. The process was guided by a simplified version of ATAM (Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method), adapted to work on a distributed open-source development en- vironment. The results of this process were analyzed in four different ways: (i) source code static analysis; (ii) feedback from stakeholders; (iii) taxonomy analysis to assess the ma- turity of the developed solutions; and (iv) an assessment of the new monitoring features. Overall, the process of designing, implementing, and evaluating the new architecture was deemed successful by all four independent evaluations, and the lessons learned are impor- tant contributions from this work.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Refúgio e imigração em São Paulo: uma análise através da realidade de cinco mulheres imigrantes negras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-07-01) Almeida, Alexandra Cristina Gomes de; Machado, Igor José de Renó; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4705450652848752; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7613716021035323This work is result of the ethnography carried out in the city of São Paulo on the processes of integration and access to social rights for African, black women, asylum seekers, and immigrants. The research occurred in the same period that the consolidation of public policies aimed at the immigrant population by the city of São Paulo, a pioneering action, in the country. Issues such as class, race and gender were important in terms of the interlocutors' access to citizenship, placing them in a field of tensions and different forms of treatment and subordination. To understand this process, the work will bring an overview of brazil's main emergency agreements and political demands in the face of immigration, this explains that the historical legislative process on immigration has always been a selectivity in the population management of immigrants. This legislative history resonates in the current migratory flows and the experience of the women reveal obstacles to insert themselves in Brazilian society. Herbariums are a potential instrument to be used in scientific divulgation actions, they contribute specially to the diffusion of scientific knowledge on botany. In order to analyze if a biological collection is the right tool for scientific divulgation, this job has engaged to analyze perceptions of herbalists about Popular Science and Environmental Education. Therefore, we applied Discursive Textual Analysis to the responses obtained through a digital questionnaire with 28 questions sent to 136 curators. It is then possible to understand the profile of these social authors and characterize the herbaria in Brazil. The herbarium is a good tool for scientific divulgation and perceptions regarding Popular Science and Environmental Education are mainly different due to the profile of academic training of this herbarium professionals.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Otimização do consumo de bateria em hardware de internet das coisas industrial(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-07-01) Marcelino, Anelise Gomes Lúcio; França, Celso Aparecido de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4547836128892982; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0198956351808441Electrical Engineering offers a wide area of expertise, regarding not only to solving problems in the field of electricity, electronics, control and automation, but also relates to everything that is being currently migrated to the "cloud", with an innovative digitalization technology. In the 21st century, the Internet of Things has improved its performance and thus, the usage of monitoring equipment has improved in applications for both personal use and industrial solutions. The industrial startup TRACTIAN, created in 2019, develops and markets remote sensing devices, which operate connected to the power grid or baterry, and also offers a software platform that shall process and present the information. This sensor collects vibration and temperature data from machines operating in industrial environments and forwards them to TRACTIAN’s digital platform, where the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques are applied to identify possible failures in machinery, before they are completely damaged or broken. The primary goal of this work is to identify a possibility of decrease in the device’s battery consumption, and for that two main optimizations were applied: decrease in the amount of information sent from the sensor to a wireless network, as a result of a change in its internal processing still in the hardware, and another decrease in the access time to the microprocessor’s memory to obtain the data to be sent. From these two changes, it was possible to identify decreases not only in the duration of each operation cycle of the sensor, but also in the amount of current consumed per cycle. Therefore, its baterry will last longer and the product will have a greater potential in the market.
