The main objective of the research is to characterize a context of teaching English to children and discuss some aspects related to the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the teaching context for a group of 9 students in the literacy phase of a private school in the countryside of São Paulo, where the teacher-researcher has been working for 12 years. We start from the assumption that the children in the preschool phase arrive at the school with a linguistic and cultural repertoire built mainly in their social interactions with the family and their circle of friends, because "learning and development are interrelated from the first day of a child’s life" (VIGOTSKY, 1998, p. 110). Therefore, the teacher plays a fundamental role in the context of formal education, when planning and implementing teaching situations that can contribute to social interaction between students and between students and materials. In addition, we start from the classification of scaffolding types proposed by Wood, Bruner and Ross (1976) from the Vigotskyan theory as categories of analysis of our corpus, considering that the didactic strategies used by the teacher are types of scaffolding to be offered to the students in the performance of activities in groups, in pairs or individual. As a result, our research identified that, in the context, a printed educational material is used that bases the teaching planning, based on the principles of integration, autonomy, independence and access to culture. In addition, our analyses showed that the process of teaching English language learning in the literacy phase, based on activities that promote interactions in a cooperative approach (DONNINI, 2013) could contribute to greater involvement of families in the mediation process, which was fundamental for the teaching and learning of the English language in the researched context.

Inductive logic programming applied for knowledge representation in computer music
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-07-15) Gonçalves Junior, Clenio Batista; Homem, Murillo Rodrigo Petrucelli; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4099700446922080
In Computer Music, the knowledge representation process is an essential element for the development of systems. Methods have been applied to provide the computer with the ability to generate conclusions based on previously established experience and definitions. In this sense, Inductive Logic Programming presents itself as a research field that incorporates concepts of Logic Programming and Machine Learning, its declarative character allows musical knowledge to be presented to non-specialist users in a naturally understandable way. The present work performs a systematic review based on approaches that use Inductive Logic Programming in the representation of musical knowledge. Questions that these studies seek to address were raised, as well as identifying characteristic aspects related to their application.

With effort to face great challenges of public management modernization in Brazil, whose embryo were the experiences verified in the United States and England, which became known as the New Public Management, Decree 5,378 of February 23, 2005 has etablished the Public Management National Program and Debureaucratization – GESPÚBLICA. Its main banner was searching for excellence in management keeping the public services characteristics. Since then, Brazilian public administration could be noticed, not only in direct administration bodies, but also in those of indirect administration, great interest in new management techniques and tools, with more managerial bias which in a recente past were considered private sector´s exclusive domain. Such as Business Process Management practices. However, the implementation of process management practices in a public organization is not a trivial task. It implies, above all, the breaking of old paradigms consolidated over decades and, somehow, they still define how work must be performed in the public sector. Such changes can bring a very high degree of complexity to its implementation, creating sometimes insurmountable difficulties, requiring great abilities on part of those responsible for its implementation. Therefore, the general aim of this research was to detect the difficulties in implementing the management of business process in a Federal Technological Education Institution, aiming to overcome them. The methodology adopted followed the taxonomy suggested by Vergara (2016), which uses two basic criteria for researches classification: in terms of ends and in terms of means. As to the ends, it can be understood as decriptive and exploratory; as to the means, this is a case study performed from Process Mapping Commission of the Academic Records Coordination of a Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology. Data collection was accomplished from a combination of the following techniques: documentary analysis (ordinance, resolutions, Institutional Development Plan – PDI, management report); details are available on the Institution´s website; and the application of a semi-structured online questionnaire. The sample population was based on a non-probabilistic sample which considerated the access facility to the research subjects (Vergara, 2016). Therfore, twenty professionals were selected, including members and former members of the Process Mapping Comittee, to whom the link to access the quetionnaire was sent by email. A total of fifteen questionnaires were completed. The research results supported the difficulties pointed out by the specialized literature that served as theoretical foundation for this research and indicated the gaps that must be filled if the Intitution present insterest in overcoming such difficulties. Based on this, as a final recomendation, the adoption of process management practices, pointed out by the consulted authors, was suggested, aiming the consolidation of the implementation project of the Business Process Management in the Institution.

Thomas Aquinas, in questions 80 to 82 of the Prima Pars of his Summa Theologiae, deals with sensitive appetites, the concupiscible and the irascible, and, above all, with the superior human appetite, the will. According to the Aquinate, this has as its own object the good produced since the intellectual apprehension of the essences of the particular entities (composed by matter and form) and, consecutively, presented to it by the human intellect. In this work, we will seek not only to understand the diversity between sensitive appetites and the will, but also the way in which it is related to its own object, that is, the intellectual good.
