listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise comparativa do dimensionamento de galerias de águas pluviais: abordagem na condição de escoamento permanente e uniforme e na condição de escoamento não permanente e não uniforme(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Takahashi, Fernanda Yumi Nomura; Kellner, Erich; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6855091004957784; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6731340573882258The urban microdrainage system is responsible for capturing rainwater and directing it to the macrodrainage system, and must be designed to provide safety and comfort to the population in relation to the flow of rainwater. One of the constituent parts of this system is the rainwater gallery that can be dimensioned based on the condition of permanent and uniform flow, through the Rational Method for example, and based on the non-permanent and non-uniform flow with the Saint-Venant Equations. Although this last condition is theoretically more precise and easily accessible, designs based on the Rational Method are frequently used in Brazil. In this way, it is intended to compare the hydraulic-hydrological conditions and effects, the diameters of the galleries, the water depth, the flows and flow velocities obtained in each consideration. For this, the design of the two conditions was carried out in the Parque do Espraiado subdivision in the municipality of São Carlos/SP, using the SWMM software for the numerical resolution of the Saint-Venant Equations. The design conditions adopted were speed less than 5m/s, Froude number less than 1, minimum diameter of 500mm and water depth less than or equal to 0.80. The results indicated that the flows obtained by the Rational Method were lower than those found in the SWMM software, with a difference of 9.09% in the final flow. In addition, the velocities in the two methods differ on average by 12.75%, with the highest values obtained by the Rational Method, unlike the water depth, which in the consideration of non-permanent and non-uniform flow presents the highest values. It was found that the design performed by the Rational Method would not meet all the design conditions in an analysis in the condition of non-permanent and non-uniform flow, resulting in exchanges for larger diameters in 15 of the 32 gallery sections in the enterprise.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A Matemática da música: uma abordagem para o ensino de frações através da teoria musical(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Santos, Erick Quintino dos; Sampaio, João Carlos Vieira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8286887389013685; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8004205234746096This study presents a proposal based on the application of innovative methodologies through didactic sequences for the teaching of Mathematics to Elementary School II students. However, many technological and material challenges, such as secure intellectual property of the digital designs, reduction of the production time, adaptation of standards, reach gender equity for additive manufacturing, etc. Such challenges need to be faced so that technique can be widely used in the industry 4.0 environment. In order to solve such challenges, many innovations in equipment, materials and applications are being carried out. Some highlights in innovation are the development of new materials, such as metal alloys, cellulose, silica and silicates used in additive manufacturing. In the applications area, fabrication of aeronautical and automotive parts with 3D printing, tissue engineering and additive manufacturing for medical use, local printing of spare parts, software development and other tools are being carried out to help the parts production with additive manufacturing. Therefore, through this bibliografic review, this work has as objective to display the challenges and the innovations of additive manufacturing in the industrial area. The literature shows that the additive manufacturing field is promising, however much has to be developed so that this technique becomes a key player in the industrial sector.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Previsão de MP10 através de redes neurais: estudos de caso no Estado de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Shibuya, Rudiger Yuujiro Mukuno; Miranda, Regina Maura de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6353305919431855Air pollution is an ever-present and increasingly worrying health problem. and well-being of the population, in particular, the Mp10 particulate matter has become a target of studies because of the problems that their exposure in large amounts or prolonged time can generate in public health. To monitor in order to control and understand more about origins and behavior, a multilayer neural network of Perceptrons (MLP) with two layers of 40 neurons and 4 analysis parameters to predict the concentration of the pollutant particulate matter (PM). This configuration was used in order to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the data. The four chosen parameters are related to meteorology, as they have a strong influence on the dispersion of pollutants, being these: atmospheric pressure, wind speed, relative humidity and temperature environment. The neural network was trained from the PM data between January 1, 2017 until January 1, 2022, where the program used data from previous days as a basis to predict the values of the following days. The regions of Parque Dom Pedro II, Guarulhos, Santos and Jaú were analyzed with data of the air quality stations collected by the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (CETESB), available through the QUALAR platform. from the results generated, an average percentage error between the values provided and the values predicted by the neural network of, respectively, 30.93%, 27.77%, 25.12% and 24.69% for the MP10, demonstrating results consistent and close to the real value, with a greater precision for less populated areas, as there are fewer human interactions affecting the concentration of particulate matter. The same procedure was performed for MP2.5 in the regions of Parque Dom Pedro II and Guarulhos, obtaining different results and not very conclusive, however, equally accurate in relation to the average percentage error of 30.66% and 32.94% respectively, showing that MP2.5 does not have much relationship with meteorological data as well as the MP10. In general, the results obtained were satisfactory for the precision and the information about the neural networks and the action cycles of the PM, showing that MLPs are reliable in predicting MP values in general for values daily.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Proposta de um índice de avaliação da satisfação do uso do transporte público do município de São Carlos por meio da adaptação do Customer Satisfaction Score(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Silva, Fernando Medeiros e; Hirosue, Fernando Hideki; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4091598921285700; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3393701422569158As the years go by, some kinds of services gain relevance, some of them lose and others stay the same. Although, one thing is clear: the industry is becoming even more competitive. This progress proceeds with the increase of this service’s quality, the growth of the public demand, and the customer experience, mainly. This last topic is becoming one of the most important competitive factors in the actual industry, where the client is the focus of the service delivery. It can be said as well for São Carlos’ public transportation. It’s required to understand the customers’ satisfaction in the variable components of the system to analyze if this service delivery meets the population’s needs. Knowing that the main goal of the current research is to understand the satisfaction of the São Carlos’ population with the city’s public transportation by applying a form based on the Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT) metric. The understanding was measured by collecting the relevance of these variable components coupled with the satisfaction of each one for the interviewed customers. This crossing resulted in a final satisfaction index of São Carlos’ public urban transportation. The final result categorized the São Carlos’ public transportation customers’ satisfaction as “low unsatisfied”. The research’s structure allows it to be applied in other cities, but it’s recommended to review the components that compose the evaluation.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Os mares revoltos de luta, resistência e beleza: a arte na transformação do silêncio em linguagem e ação dos corpos gays com deficiência(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Yamaguti, Emerson Takumi; Mendonça, Viviane Melo de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4827331651090223; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5403302550449932The sea forms a border zone and, in the chanting of Yemanja, all subalternized bodies are embraced, as well as their resistances and struggles. The attempts of the LGBTQIA+ disabled bodies to survive in a Eurocentric, heteronormative, racist, and sexist society. These are historically marginalized, silenced groups that, through social movements, against hegemonic thinking and in favor of the re-signification of identities, of race, gender, class, or sexual orientation, offer voice and visibility to subjects that are considered to be minority groups. The place of speech and the theater as a social location of these groups for their narratives, subjectivities, and dialogues with the dominant class are central axes of this research. The present study aims to analyze and understand how it is possible for LGBT people with disabilities to transform silence into language and action through theater. The tool to carry out the data collection is the Oral History method in the oral life history modality and the background that dialogues and grounds the understanding of decoloniality of LGBT bodies with disabilities and provokes a reflection on the human condition and the relationships that are established in a broad system, is grounded in feminist studies (decolonial and intersectional). The participants of the study are two gay adults with disabilities involved in activities focused on theater and culture in general. Thus, with this study we hoped to analyze theater as a tool that offers driving force for the voices of LGBT people with disabilities to be heard and represented; collaborate to understand the hegemonic process of silencing through which these groups have been submitted; and understand the process of construction of subjectivities, the formation of narratives, and the transformation of pains into language and action through theater. The results obtained through the analysis of the interviews were that art, in this case dance and theater, provide the possibility of developing dialogues for the formation of a network of counter-hegemonic discourses, the formation of social identity, and aid in the elaboration of issues involving sexuality and the acceptance of the body with disability. Contradictorily, in these spaces it was observed the presence of prejudiced attitudes and intolerance, making these environments not welcoming.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo comparativo sobre o dimensionamento de alvenaria estrutural em flexocompressão no estádio II e estádio III(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Vieira, Samara Dantas; Parsekian, Guilherme Aris; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7798651726059215; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1208899927131310Structural masonry has been widely used in Brazil for residential buildings, presenting great social benefits, as the buildings can become cheaper for the final buyer, especially for the middle and lower classes. In building projects, the vertical loads, caused by self-weight and overloads, and the horizontal loads, caused by wind and out of plumb, must be considered. In this context, the objective of this work is to analyze the design of structural masonry elements subjected to axial and bending load considering the Ultimate Limit State/Stage III, recently added in ABNT NBR 16.868:2020 and the simplified method/Stage II. Using the analytical methodology, a flowchart of activities was organized and established for axial and bending load design of structural masonry walls, and a parametric study was performed varying the geometry, the material strength, and for the cases of Stage III, the variation of the steel area, determining for each case, the results in terms of resistant forces (moment and normal) as a function of the evaluated parameters. Based on the results presented, it was possible to conclude that the adoption of Stage III for the design of structural masonry walls presented more economical solutions for most cases when compared to Stage II, reaching values around 11 times lower than Stage II.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Utilização de caroço de manga como substrato alternativo para produção de biossurfactante(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Vieira, Natália Vama; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2626035341263254; Duarte, Iolanda Cristina Silveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2626035341263254; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3858252887155131Surfactants are amphiphilic molecules with properties of adsorption and formation of micelles, which guarantee the ability to reduce surface tension, emulsion formation, phase dispersion, and other purposes. However, conventional surfactants are still produced from petroleum, which is harmful to the environment and the populations that consume it. Because of this, biosurfactants have been the subject of studies, as they are molecules similar to synthetic surfactants and produced by microorganisms, being biodegradable and less toxic, and for their production renewable sources can be used, such as agro-industrial residues that in addition to being a source of carbon it is a valuation of residual biomass. Brazil, as a large agricultural producer, generates agro-industrial residues on a large scale, and its use as a substrate in fermentation can significantly reduce the cost of production of biosurfactants. Within this agricultural sector, Brazil is the seventh world producer of mango and its residual biomass has considerable amounts of oils and sugars to be used in the production of biosurfactants. Thus, the production of biosurfactant by autochthonous bacteria isolated from self-fermented residual mango biomass and by Pseudomonas aeruginosa was evaluated, using dehydrated, ground, and pre-treated mango seed as substrate. The mango seed was characterized with lipid content of 3.25% and in the pre-treatment, by autoclave, it released 67 ± 0.01 mg/g of total reducing sugars. The isolate identified as Brevibacillus borstelensis was the only one capable of producing emulsifying agents, presenting a maximum emulsion index of 48.65% with glucose, however, the P. aeruginosa strain showed the best results, with an emulsion index of 57.7% with glucose and positive results in the droplet collapse, oil displacement and hydrocarbon plaque tests, which was selected for the biosurfactant production assays with the pre-treated mango seed. Through experimental planning, it was possible to optimize the production of biosurfactant at pH 6, with 3 g/L of substrate and without the addition of soybean oil and glycerol, reaching a maximum emulsion index of 66.86%, with 9, 16% higher than glucose control. The extracted biosurfactant showed a negative ionic charge and belongs to the class of glycolipids. Therefore, pre-treated mango seed can be an alternative substrate for biosurfactant production by Pseudomonas aeruginosalistelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Benchmarking: produtividade da mão de obra na execução de sistemas prediais hidráulicos e sanitários(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Aidar, Gabriel Malvicino Nogueira Goulart; Paliari, José Carlos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9387796929252598; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7985468457113864The management of labor productivity by civil construction companies has a great importance when considering the need to meet deadlines for the execution of services and, consequently, their maintenance in a competitive market, such as the construction industry. This work objective was to obtain indicators of labor productivity management in the execution of Hydraulic and Sanitary Building Systems based on primary data of labor productivity indicators (Daily, Cumulative and RUP(Cum-Pot)) obtained from bibliographies. The labor productivity management indicators called Disruption Index and Performance Ratio were calculated, as well as the establishment of benchmarking considering all the indicators involved for the tasks/subtasks inherent to the execution of the Hydraulic and Sanitary Building Systems. As a result, the following stand out: a) the excellent correlation between the Disruption Index (DI) and the Performance Ratio (PR), insofar as the higher this index, the worse the Performance Ratio, b) in relation to the Disruption Index, most of the subtasks were in the "Acceptable" Category; followed by the Category "Warning sign"; c) in relation to PR, it was observed that all tasks (two in total) in which kits were used in their execution had PR lower than the general PR. The main contribution of this work consisted in the establishment of indicators of labor productivity management, applied to Hydraulic and Sanitary Building Systems, whose procedure can be applied to other construction services.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Associação entre aspectos psicossociais e a dor multirregional em trabalhadores – estudo transversal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Faria, Beatriz Suelen Ferreira de; Gonçalves, Josiane Sotrate; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2410914955030654; Sato, Tatiana de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3456494998257229; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2327022906332113Psychosocial aspects of the work environment interfere with the physical and mental health of workers, and may be associated with multisite pain. Multisite pain is characterized by painful symptoms in two or more regions of the body simultaneously and may result in reduced ability to work. Objective: To verify the association between psychosocial aspects of work and multirsite pain in workers. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with workers from different occupations, such as: workers in the area of education, health, administration and human resources, general services and in the area of maintenance and repair. Psychosocial aspects will be assessed using the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ II-Br). The presence of multisite pain was identified using the Nordic Musculoskeletal Symptom Questionnaire (NSQ). Data were obtained through printed and online forms. Data analysis was performed descriptively and through binomial logistic regression analysis in the SPSS program. Results: About 62% of workers had multiregional pain. The burnout, stress, emotional demands and conflict between family and work domains were directly associated with multisite pain. Job satisfaction and general health were inversely associated with multisite pain. Conclusions: Several domains related to psychosocial aspects are associated with multiregional pain in the evaluated workers.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Ligas de Mg aplicadas na indústria automobilística(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Batista, Breno Augusto; Spinelli, José Eduardo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8882038118634925The automotive industry is more and more willing and subjected to deploy new technologies in the market to mitigate environmental impacts, trying to reduce the consumption of fossil and green fuels, and hence impacting on the emission of pollutant gases related to the greenhouse effect. From that, the auto industry started to account for new alternative lightweight materials to compose specific parts of the vehicles. Therefore, with the deployment of such lighter materials, there will be a direct decrease on the vehicle’s total weight, minimizing the fuel consumption, providing higher autonomy and fuel saving, without losing performance and even being able to improve it. The opportunities of mass reduction in automotive structural applications are increasingly made by using light alloys, such as Mg ones, which have an excellent resistance-weight ratio. The constant improvements related to these alloys and the lightness they can provide for automotive components work as motivators for technological improvements regarding the development of extracting techniques and processing of primary Mg, refining conventional processing techniques, and even creating new processing methods and new Mg alloys containing rare earth elements or being free of them. Such improvements are linked to superior properties, such as mechanical resistance, fluency resistance and Mg alloys corrosion on high and room temperatures. These advances to viable costs can provide the usage of Mg alloys in large scale on the auto industry.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Multimodal classification for detecting products that do not comply with the Americanas S.A.'s marketplace sales policies(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Romualdo, Alan da Silva; Caseli, Helena de Medeiros; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6608582057810385; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6009991525432946Multimodal learning for the e-commerce domain, some classification methods are ne- eded for categorization, information retrieval and product recommendations, which are generally composed of different modalities: images and texts. Due to large diversification in the characteristics of these modalities or the absence/incompleteness of information (for example, incomplete product attributes), classification methods face many difficulties in dealing with this information in order to improve their classification. Thus, this work was carried out to investigate the multimodal learning in visual and textual modalities for e-commerce. Our experiments show good results for classification of products from “Adult” and “Illegal Devices” categories, which is part of the dataset provided by the partner company of this project. In these experiments, training was carried out for the specific modalities, deriving text and image models, as well as the fusion of the two mo- dalities in a multimodal model. The best models were the binary textual models trained taking into account product titles and descriptions: TD bin-adult (with a recall of 98%) and TD bin-illegal (with a recall of 95 %). We have some insights about the multimo- dal classification, mainly for the visual modality which, regarding its nature, could not capture patterns as well as textual models.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise da atuação do mecanismo de desenvolvimento limpo na mudança do uso da terra no Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Simões, Ricardo Muniz; Bragagnolo, Cassiano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3604206454925741; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9177-3791The debate around climate change and global warming caused mainly by anthropogenic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has gained increasing prominence since the last half of the twentieth century. In Brazil, the main responsible for the highest emission rates of these gases are the land use change activities, due in large part to the increase in illegal deforestation. One of the main instruments for the reduction of these emissions was the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), created by the Kyoto Protocol, which allows the development of projects aimed at reducing GHG emissions in developing countries. Brazil has a prominent position in this market, being the third country in the world with the largest number of registered projects. Thus, this work aims to present the operation of the CDM in Brazil, highlighting the land use change activities, due to their high participation in GHG emissions in the country. To fulfill this objective, a bibliographic literature review will be conducted around the theme of CDMs in Brazil. The study will present an overview of the CDM, discussing the origins of the mechanism, the CDM in Brazil and, specifically, the projects in the afforestation and reforestation sector. It concludes that despite the important role that land use change represents for GHG emissions in Brazil and the prominent position that the country presents in the international CDM market, the performance of the mechanism in these activities is very low. This low participation is caused by a series of barriers to the supply of forestry projects and the low demand for carbon credits. Finally, possible adjustments in the mechanism are presented, aiming for a greater development of afforestation and reforestation projects after 2020.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A roda d’água caótica e as equações de Lorenz(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Alvarenga, João Pedro Do Valle; Moreira, Pedro Augusto Franco Pinheiro; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5964404207962453In this work, two physical systems were addressed: the chaotic water wheel system and the Lorenz. The origin of these systems are completely different. The first represents a system water wheel mechanic with punctured glasses and the second, a physical fluid mechanics system for weather forecasting. Despite the completely different physical origin, the systems present similar behavior, since we can move between the equations of both systems by means of substitution of variables. Motivated by these two completely different systems, but with similar behavior, we studied the dynamics and similarity of both systems. In specific, we focus on chaotic dynamics. The Covid-19 pandemic has once again raised concerns about inflation in Brazil and issues related to commodity price increases. Therefore, it is important to investigate to what extent commodity price increases impact inflation. Initially, a review of studies on exchange rate pass-through was conducted to provide an understanding of how the pass-through of commodities and exchange rates interacts to reach inflation. Next, existing studies on commodity price pass-through and the determinants identified by them were addressed. An econometric study was then conducted using the Vector Autoregressive (VAR) methodology, which allows us to evaluate the impact of shocks between various variables. The results indicate the existence of commodity price pass-through to inflation even in the presence of exchange rate appreciation, meaning that shocks in commodity prices are passed on to domestic prices in the first few months, peaking in the second month. Additionally, it was found that between the third and seventh periods, the pass-through declines rapidly compared to later periods. Finally, the impulse-response function of the nominal exchange rate to inflation was not statistically significant.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O estudo de hormônios por meio de uma sequência didática contextualizada para ensino de funções orgânicas e suas propriedades(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Nogueira, Denise Aparecida Iversen Rosada; Marques, Clélia Mara de Paula; lattes.cnpq.br/0451284088402660; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5801270724595885Awakening students' interest in motivating learning that makes them critical citizens is not an easy task for us educators. The challenges involving teaching and learning in a new scenario caused by the emergence of a worldwide pandemic caused by Covid-19 have become even greater, requiring teachers, students, school management and family to join forces to overcome all obstacles that the remote teaching could establish. This research has a qualitative character and aimed to plan and analyze a didactic sequence applied to the teaching of Organic Functions and their properties through the contextualization of the study of hormones in the CTSA (Science, Technology, Society and Environment) perspective. The participating students were from the 3rd year of the Technical Course Integrated to High School (ETIM) in Environment at ETEC Prefeito Alberto Feres, located in the city of Araras-SP. Hormones are present in the daily lives of human beings and it is common for this theme to arouse the interest of adolescents. Its study allowed to make the learning of Organic Functions and their properties a dynamic process through a didactic sequence involving research in scientific publications, experimentation, dialogic classes, lecture and elaboration of a didactic game. Activity records were made by the Microsoft Teams platform, since most of the research took place remotely. The results demonstrate that learning in a contextualized way, through the CTSA perspective, is an important resource, as it allowed students to recognize themselves as critical citizens despite remote teaching, still being a challenging activity.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo sobre o dimensionamento de placas de concreto reforçado com fibras de aço apoiadas em meio elástico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-19) Oliveira, Arthur Amorim de; Milani, Margot Fabiana Pereira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9324192204449423Due to its brittle behavior and low tensile strength, it is common for concrete to be reinforced with other materials, such as steel. Steel fiber-reinforced concrete is a composite material that uses fibers as structural reinforcement, reducing the post-cracking brittle behavior of concrete. Authough the advantages, the material still suffers from a lack of theoretical basis and is rarely used in Brazil compared to reinforced concrete. To increase the use of steel fiber-reinforced concrete, the understanding of the normative document that assists in the design of structural elements using the material (ABNT NBR 16935:2021) is very important, as is the knowledge of the advantages of this material in relation to others. In this work, the use of steel fiber-reinforced concrete in plates on elastic foundation was analyzed and the results obtained in the design of the same structural element in steel fiber concrete reinforcementand in reinforced concrete will be compared using the criteria of standards and spreadsheets, which will be developed during the project. The project is expected to contribute to the competitiveness between steel fiber concrete reinforcement and reinforced concrete when applied in shallow foundations, since the steel fiber-reinforced concrete showed a reduction in the use of steel in plates on elastic foundation.
