PDT develops with the interaction of a photosensitizer (PS), light with adequate wavelength in the presence of oxygen molecules in the tissue, causing cell death. In Brazil, there are treatments with well-defined and approved protocols using protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) as FS, through the topical application of a cream containing its precursor (methyl aminolevulinate) and commercial irradiation equipment LINCE®. A new treatment proposal, with a portable irradiation system developed by the Technological Support Laboratory (LAT) of the Optics Group of the São Carlos Institute of Physics (IFSC) of the University of São Paulo (USP) was tested in order to optimize the length of stay of patients in the hospital. This project aimed at the comparative study of PpIX activation and degradation by the portable system with the commercial irradiation system. This study was carried out using a tumor model in mice, evaluating different protocols (variation in irradiation and incubation time) through fluorescence spectroscopy and wide-field fluorescence imaging to compare the production and degradation of PpIX in the tumor and in the surrounding skin. With the results obtained, it was possible to verify that the degradation of PpIX was similar in the use of the portable irradiation system (prototype) and the commercial system (LINCE), both by the analysis by fluorescence spectroscopy and by wide-field fluorescence images.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Asfalto ecológico: uma análise sobre a viabilidade da sua utilização como substituto do asfalto convencional(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Peterline, Allan Felipe; Moreira, Francys Kley Vieira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7156680316782417The production of petroleum asphalt cement (PAC) has a great importance for the development of the Brazilian economy, since road transport has been privileged since the 50's. Another fundamental product for transport services is the tire. PAC and tire are associated with supply chains that generate significant environmental impacts. PAC is made up of bitumen, a compound generated from the petroleum distillation process; its production requires a large amount of energy, which is obtained from fossil fuel burning – generating polluting gases emission. Regarding tires, the stages that have the greatest environmental impacts involve the disposal at its end-of-life. In view of this scenery, emerges the ecological asphalt, a modified PAC containing 20% by mass of ground waste tires, which improves the pavement’s quality, reduces the amount of bitumen needed to manufacture the same volume of PAC and guarantees a more environmentally friendly destination to tire wastes. This work presents a life cycle assessment (LCA) of tire production with different destinations, CAP production and ecological asphalt production; all product systems were compared using the environmental model Environmental Footprint (Mid-point indicator) and indicators (climate change, freshwater ecotoxicity, carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic human toxicity, fossil fuel consumption and water consumption) were calculated to verify the best scenarios from an environmental point of view. It was found that ecological asphalt generated the lowest environmental impacts, except for the water footprint. This was mainly observed by the decreased use of bitumen, which is the main cause of the environmental impacts studied. The higher water consumption in the ecological asphalt life cycle was due to the mechanical recycling for obtaining ground rubber tires, a step that uses a large amount of energy from hydroelectric plantslistelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Caracterização agronômica de frutos e poliembrionia de sementes de porta-enxertos híbridos de citros(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Mussareli, Caio; Cristofani-Yaly, Mariângela; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7829946393687571; Schinor, Evandro Henrique; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2162760988837984A good rootstock must add several characteristics such as high number of seeds, polyembryony, resistance to diseases, induction of precocity, among others that are important for citrus production. The objective of this work was to carry out the agronomic characterization of fruits and to evaluate the polyembryony of seeds of 24 hybrids from the cross between the 'Rangpur' lime x Poncirus trifoliata (LC x PT) and 'Rangpur' lime x 'Swingle' citrumelo (LC x CS) obtained by the Centro APTA Citros Sylvio Moreira/IAC, and compare them with the 'Rangpur' limee (Citrus limonia Osbeck) and the 'Swingle' citrumelo [C. paradisi Macfad. cv. Duncan x P. trifoliata (L.) Raf.], aiming at future use in rootstock production. The experiment was carried out in 2021, at the Centro APTA Citros Sylvio Moreira/IAC, located in the municipality of Cordeirópolis-SP. The variables analyzed were mass, height and diameter of the fruits and number of seeds per fruit, using three replications with five fruits and, also, the number of embryos per seed was evaluated, using three replications with 10 seeds. , for each of the varieties evaluated. Considering the biometric variables mass, diameter and height of the fruits, the varieties that presented the highest average values were LC x CS 21, LC x CS 47 and CS. Considering the number of seeds, the varieties that presented the highest average values were the hybrids LC x CS 47, LC x PT 21 and the CS and the ones that presented the highest average number of embryos per seed were the hybrids LC x PT 11, the LC and the CS that obtained higher averages. Thus, the hybrids that showed the greatest potential to be used as rootstocks were the hybrids LC x CS 47 and LC x PT 21, considering the number of seeds and the averages of the biometric variables (mass, length and diameter) in relation to the controls LC and CS, which are currently the most used in the production of citrus seedlings.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Diálogos matemáticos no ensino remoto: entre dificuldades e possibilidades(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Marques, Luciana Maria Estevam; Veraszto, Estéfano Vizconde; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6253673132956358; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7325022481476742The main objective of this dissertation is to understand how mathematical dialogues take place remotely in a school that transforms itself daily into a Learning Community. To do so, we invited members from the school community to participate in mathematical tertulias with the work "The Man who counted" by Malba Tahan (2020 edition). The development of this theme enabled reflections about social mathematics, so that the dialogical remote spaces provided the opportunity for this investigation. The contributions of Dialogical Learning (Aubert and collaborators, 2020), were essential for beginning the dialogues, while considering the heterogeneity of the group participating in the research that enabled transformations during the investigative process. The research that we presented has a qualitative character, and for that we used the Critical Communicative Methodology (Goméz and collaborators, 2006), which defends the importance of knowing the social reality in order to transform it. Based on methods, it is possible to identify the needs analyzed in intersubjectivity. Thus, we conducted our research in a municipal public school that has become a Learning Community since 2017, when the municipality of Mogi Guaçu - SP, in partnership with the Núcleo de Investigação e Ação Social Educativa (NIASE) of São Carlos, offered network training for principals and pedagogical coordinators and since then, successful educational actions have taken place at school with the intensive participation of families and the local community. The participants of the research were students, school collaborators, managers, mothers of students, and teachers who work in the early and final years of elementary school. The analyses were articulated with our theoretical references that briefly discussed mathematics, considering authors such as Skovsmose, Palomar, D’Ambrósio, Paulo Freire, among others who discussed mathematics from a critical and social perspective. At the end of our analyses, we revisited our research problem, which sought to answer about the difficulties and potentialities of a remote dialogical environment focused on Mathematics, and we register that some obstacles made the meetings more complicated, for example, the access to online platforms, the absence of a body reading during the experiences in mathematical tertulias, and the appearance of sudden commitments that made some collective meetings difficult. About the aspects that facilitated the dialogues, we can mention the permanence of the message group, being open all the time for contributions, and also the facility of access for those who could connect. However, it is worth remembering that this also becomes an excluding factor, if we consider that not everyone has access to technology.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Novos impactos na carga de trabalho na modalidade remota: estudo de caso em empresas do setor de serviços(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Hara, Guilherme Vieira; Fontes, Andréa Regina Martins; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4848646681792317Ergonomics is one of the most relevant subjects in the study of the sphere of work, with the potential to raise awareness and create increasingly sustainable ways of working for the future, especially in times of crisis such as the compulsory implementation of remote work due to social distancing derived from COVID-19 pandemic. The case study aims to analyze the process of adaptability of workers facing the implementation of remote work, based on theoretical and empirical methodology, with theoretical review, data collection form and interviews. Parameters such as overload in the work environment, changes in working conditions compared to the beginning of the pandemic with the current moment and the perception of respondents regarding the remote work experience were addressed. For the construction of the theoretical basis of the study, an analysis of the current legislation was carried out, a reading of national and international scientific articles, focusing on the historical context of the formation of labor relations in Brazil, legislation and definition of the terms home office and telework and impacts of social isolation in these relationships. In this way, we sought to contemplate the objective of the case study of identifying how workers in the service sector adapted to the remote work format, comparing the new conditions offered in the face of work requirements. 30 responses were collected via an online form and 3 online interviews were carried out through video calls, covering 13 different companies and enabling the perception of both positive factors such as flexibility and consistency and negative factors such as control and workload. It is concluded that the remote model reserves several opportunities to gain quality of life for workers, while generating mental overload when not implemented correctly.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Empreendedorismo e universidade: uma análise das competências empreendedoras em estudantes do curso de engenharia de materiais da UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Silva, Lucas Parreira da; Oliveira, Bráulio Salumão de; Costa, Lidiane Cristina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8246109223926480This research aims to understand the scenario of entrepreneurship among students of the materials engineering course at the Federal University of São Carlos. For this, a bibliographic and empirical research was carried out, through the elaboration of a questionnaire to be answered by students and graduates of the course who had started their studies between 2009 and 2019. In addition, statistical techniques were used to read the data and produce inferences that could answer the question: What is the role of the university in the preparation and aid for the development of entrepreneurial skills in its undergraduate students? It is known that the current scenario increases the requirements for qualified professionals, able to deal with the constant economic and social challenges, and that present entrepreneurial and innovation characteristics. In this sense, the guidelines of higher education have placed these points as objectives to be achieved in the courses. However, only this mention in official documents is not sufficient to achieve these goals, and it is necessary to evaluate, in practice, whether this has occurred, and by what means. Thus, this research has relevance because it is an attempt to analyze the effectiveness of the formative objectives in a specific space, of the materials engineering course of UFSCar. There was an advance in the acquisition of entrepreneurial capacities of students, despite the existence of challenges still to be overcome within the university.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação do ciclo de vida de garrafas PET: comparativo entre Brasil e Alemanha(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Junqueira, Flávia Bastos; Moreira, Francys Kley Vieira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7156680316782417In view of the growing consumption of plastic packaging worldwide, the concerns regarding the environmental impacts of plastic wastes have become more and more relevant. One of the tools used for analyzing such impacts is the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), which assesses the impacts and benefits of a material’s life cycle on the environment. In view of the divergent contexts of gathering and destination of plastic wastes in Brazil and Germany, the present work evaluated the advantages and disadvantages in different eco-impact categories of the PET bottle life cycle in both countries. Four different post-consumer PET disposal scenarios were established – recycling, sanitary landfill, dump, and incineration – of which dump is relevant for Brazil, while incineration is typically carried out in Germany – and the amounts of postconsumer PET sent for each end-of-life treatment were defined based on the recycling index of the countries. The LCA was performed using the OpenLCA software and the ReCiPe Midpoint (H) assessment method, considering the production of 1 ton of PET bottles as a functional unit. Three impact categories were evaluated – global warming, water consumption and human toxicity. A comparison between the end-oflife treatments for each country was carried out, where in Brazil the sanitary landfill and open dump scenarios are very similar and the most harmful in terms of global warming and water consumption, while recycling is the worst alternative for human toxicity. For Germany, the impacts related to sanitary landfill and incineration were more pronounced than those related to mechanical recycling. For the comparison between countries, a scenario was created where part of the PET bottle waste was sent to sanitary landfill and part for recycling, being the quantities defined by the recycling indexes of 91% and 55% for Germany and Brazil, respectively. Despite the higher recycling rate, the treatment of PET bottle wastes in Germany has the most significant impacts, which can be justified by its fossil-based energy matrix. Overall, the PET resin and bottle productions contributed at the largest extents for the environmental impacts in all evaluated categories. Thus, the LCA of this work allowed concluding that to minimize the impacts of the PET bottle life cycle, a high recycling rate must be combined with renewable energy sources.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Materiais ferroelétricos fotovoltaicos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Correia, Manuella Neves Félix; Eiras, José Antônio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6653223814715498In this work, the characteristics of semiconductor and ferroelectric materials are analyzed. in order to explore the functioning of photovoltaic cells made with one or other material and compare them. As a basis for the formulation of criteria and parameters of analysis, two evaluation instruments were considered: 1) "Urban Insertion Assessment Tool for The Enterprises of Track 1 of the My House My Life Program", the ITDP - Institute of Transport and Development Policies, and LabCidade (FAUUSP) - Laboratory Public Space and Law to the City of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of USP. 2) "Casa Azul Seal: Good practices for more sustainable housing", an instrument of socio-environmental classification of CEF - Caixa Econômica Federal. In terms of Bibliographic Review, two-axis compilations were made that served as the basis for the desired analyses. The first, in relation to the more general themes involving different urban conditions such as land use, mobility and infrastructure provision. The second axis, focusing on the case study, through the survey and study of current legal documents, as well as cartoriais documents, projects and descriptive memorials. From this repertoire, an analysis of the transformation process and the urban conditions of Vila Penha do Rio do Peixe was performed, using criteria and parameters formulated based on the two pre-selected evaluation instruments. The results obtained point to a condition in which trade, service provision and public equipment of daily and eventual use, are being sufficiently well served. In the sporadic item, the supply was insufficient, considering the weaknesses observed in the analysis of the services provided by public transport, such as low frequency and restrictions resulting from the period of care. Regarding the impacts, some generating poles (Frigorific and Industry) were identified, but with intermittent and localized effects. It is expected, therefore, that this research can contribute to a better understanding and improvement of the processes of analysis of the urban conditions and urban sectors and bring subsidies for overcoming the weaknesses identified in Vila Penha do Rio do Peixe.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Propriedades clinimétricas do mapa da dor e caracterização de área de dor em mulheres com dismenorreia primária(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Carlessi, Roberta de Moraes; Driusso, Patricia; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8898319491890063; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2668798729831983Objectives: Assess the convergent validity, test-retest reliability, intra- and inter-rater reliability and measurement errors of the body map to assess pain related to primary dysmenorrhea (PD). Methods: Cross-sectional study with adult women with PD self-report in the three months prior to the study. They completed an anamnesis, the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) and the body map during the menstrual period of two consecutive menstruations. The body maps were digitalized and assessed (ImageJ software) for the calculation of total pain area in percentage. Intra- and inter-rater reliability of the second menstruation and the test-retest reliability between the first and the second menstruations were assessed with the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Spearman correlation (rho) was used to check the correlation between the total pain area and pain intensity of the two menstruations. Results: Fifty-six women (24.1±3.1 years old) participated of the study. Mean pain intensity on the first and second menstruations was 6.7±1.8 and 5.7±2.0 points. Reliability was considered excellent (ICC>0.75) for the total pain area. Correlation between total pain area and pain intensity was moderate in the first (rho=0.30; p=0.021) and in the second menstruations (rho=0.40; p=0.002). Conclusion: The use of the body map to assess total pain area related to PD was considered a reliable and valid measurement.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Um estudo do sistema vítreo cálcio-vanádio-fosfato(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Cerruti, Mayara Pereira; Lancelotti, Ricardo Felipe; Zanotto, Edgar Dutra; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1055167132036400; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1055167132036400In the present work, a study was carried out on the property changes that the addition of vanadium in the P2O5-CaO-V2O5 system can cause. A non-linear change of a glass property due to the mixing of different glass formers in the system calciumphosphate and calcium-vanadate is expected. There are very few reports on the mixed glass former effect in terms of mechanical and thermal properties for this system. To fill this gap, elastic constants, and micro-hardness, were studied in glasses of the constant molar fraction of calcium but of different V2O5-to-P2O5 ratios. In addition, measurements were flanked by Raman Spectroscopy and X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy to assign points of inflection of these properties in dependence on the V2O5-to-P2O5 ratio to their structural origin and chemical state. There is a non-linear change in the properties of vanadium increasing in the system. The system remains vitreous up to 40 mol% V2O5.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Redução nas emissões de CO2 em função de tecnologias aplicadas à fusão de vidros soda-cal-sílica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Silva, Gustavo Cogo e; Rodrigues, Ana Candida Martins; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4499231813051400; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5546743588161818At first, an overview of the problem will be presented of the carbon dioxide emissions and the global perspective concerning discussions, legislation, and emission reduction targets to be achieved. The most used commercial electrolyte in PEMWE is the Nafion membrane, a material that is expensive and difficult to recycle. The partial replacement of Nafion with cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) can produce composite membranes can increased electrical, mechanical and biodegradability properties. In this sense, the objective of this work is to study the elaboration of nanocomposites (Nafion-CNC) aiming at developing high-performance electrolytes for application in PEMWE. In the first stage of the work, the potential of using agro-industrial residues (bagasse and sugarcane straw) to obtain CNCs via enzymatic hydrolysis was evaluated. CNCs obtained from both biomasses showed high crystallinity index (> 70%) and high thermal stability (Tonset > 300 °C). In the second stage, the effects of adding CNCs to Nafion were evaluated. Nafion membranes were produced with two types of CNCs, one obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis and the other by acid hydrolysis (commercial). The addition of both CNCs has similar effects on Nafion’s properties. For samples with both commercial and enzymatic CNC, an increase in the modulus of elasticity (10% and 40% respectively) and maximum stress (10% and 13% respectively) was observed. The two nanocomposites showedlower initial thermal degradation temperatures, however, they still showed sufficient stability (Tonset > 170°C) for application in PEMWE (standard operating temperature <100°C). Furthermore, there was a significant increase in the humidification capacity and increase in conductivity. Composite membranes were tested in PEMWE and their usability was proven.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, NPS: como esse indicador pode impactar o resultado microempresarial(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Souza, Emerson de; Ferri, Fabio Aparecido; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8314629367795792Customer success during the purchase process of a product or service has become increasingly important for the financial impact of companies, ensuring that the customer be the focus. High magnetic fields are an interesting issue that motivates the use of superconducting devices. In this work, three different preliminary magnetic models of a superconducting wavelength shifter (SWLS) were developed. Concerning the magnetic field, the goal was to develop a device capable of generating up to 7 T, within the optical specifications and operating margin previously determined, in order to adapt the SWLS in a straight section of a synchrotron accelerator. The results were obtained from computer simulations and discussed from the optimization of models’ geometric parameters to the analysis of the magnetic field spatial distribution.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Apresentando o teorema de Bayes por meio de aplicações(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Souza, Laís Lima de; Venezuela, Antonio Luís; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8722224671269332The main objective in this work is to present the Bayes Theorem through some of its main applications: the Bayesian Decision Theory, the Naive Bayes Algorithm and in the basic education. Despite at the beginning there was a great resistance from mathematicians to use it, this theorem is currently considered one of the most important relations involving conditional probabilities and this reflects in its applications that are very useful in several segments. For each of the applications, the mathematical language was approached in the study of the referred theorem, articulated with examples of situations in which they were used, based on qualitative research in the bibliographic modality. In the end, it was noticed that presenting Bayes' Theorem through applications makes it less complicated, constituting an alternative form of approach, in terms of teaching-learning in the study of probabilistic notions.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Impressão 3D do PLA para aplicações biomédicas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-04-20) Duarte, Fernando Biancardi; Marini, Juliano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4533610255047654Currently, additive manufacturing (AM) machines, popularly known as 3D printers, can already be found in the most diverse environments around the world, from industrial facilities, homes, offices, service providers, academic institutions to government and military institutions, including the International Space Station (ISS). In recent years has been an increase in the number of plastics being developed for use in AM, opening space for the advancement of materials to be applied in the medical and biotechnological sector, proving to be a great alternative for the future. One of the techniques used in AM is Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), where a polymer filament is introduced into the printer and then heated and melted to later be deposited on a construction surface, allowing the fabrication of objects in 3 dimensions. In this sense, the use of biomaterials for medical application built from AM technologies becomes an alternative. Therefore, the objective of this work was to carry out a literature review on the main advances and challenges in the areas of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, through the manufacture of devices using biopolymers, through the additive manufacturing process. For this, the methodology was based on the Systematic Literature Review protocol, through the definition of the database to be explored, the research themes, the strings used for the search and the temporal delimitation of the research. As a result, it was possible to analyze the progress of the study on the subject, with the volume of publications increasing each year. In addition, it was also possible to verify the most promising polymers, considering the relations between their properties and applications, as well as the main challenges for practical application in a viable way.
