Introduction: Studies have shown that Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase 10 (ADAM10) is the main α-secretase in the non-amyloidogenic cleavage of amyloid precursor protein (APP). ADAM10 prevents the production of β-amyloid peptide, one of the pathological features of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Objective: The objective of this work was to investigate ADAM10 present in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), platelets and plasma/serum as a potential biomarker for AD. Methods: A systematic review was carried out in the Online System of Search and Analysis of Medical Literature databases (MEDLINE/PubMed), in the Database of bibliographic and citation information (Web of Science), in the Excerpta Medica Database (Embase) and in the bibliographic database for abstracts and citations of articles from academic journals (Scopus), as well as the manual search for citations, using the Boolean terms and operators: “Alzheimer” AND “ADAM10” AND “biomarker”. Inclusion criteria were original studies on ADAM10 in blood or CSF of patients with AD. Risk of bias was assessed using the Quality Assessment Tool for Observational Cohort and Cross-sectional Studies. The review protocol was registered in the PROSPERO database (CRD42021274239). Results: Of the 97 studies retrieved, 17 were included. There is strong evidence for lower levels of ADAM10 in platelets from people with AD compared to cognitively healthy participants. On the other hand, in plasma, higher levels of ADAM10 were found. Regarding CSF, controversial results were found with lower and higher levels of ADAM10 in people with AD compared to healthy elderly people. Conclusion: Evidence shows that ADAM10 levels are altered in platelets, plasma, serum and CSF of people with AD. The alteration was evident in all stages of the disease and, therefore, the protein may represent a complementary biomarker for AD. However, further studies should be carried out to establish cut-off values for ADAM10 levels to discriminate participants with AD from elderly people without cognitive impairment.

Automotive suspensions are systems that seek to reduce vertical acceleration in vehicles and reduce vibrations caused by imperfections in the pavement, resulting in increased stability and passenger comfort, using a passive system formed by dampers and springs. The present work aimed to develop a semi-active control system for automotive suspensions subject to unstable terrain, seeking to improve passenger comfort, as well as vehicle rolling stability compared to the common passive system. The control in question is, in a simplified way, formed by an actuator between the suspended and unsprung masses of the car, electronically. In the proposed work, we chose to use a system with variation of the fluid flow contained in the damper through a valve whose opening varies according to the input received. Initially, the model of ½ vehicle systems, also called half-car, was considered and then the passive and semi-active conditions were simulated in Matlab® using a PID controller. There was a substantial reduction in the settling time of the system by approximately 40%. In addition, there was a reduction of about 3% in the amplitude of the vertical displacement and reductions of approximately 4% and 12% in the rotation amplitude of the system, respectively. Thus, it can be said that the general and specific objectives were met, enabling an improvement in the response of the suspension system as a whole, that is, the proposed semi-active system presented satisfactory results in the following items: settling time and overshoot, when compared to the common passive system.

The present dissertation is dedicated to describing and analyzing the transformations in fiscal management, from 1995 to 2019, which encompassed the Secretariat of Finance and Planning of the State of São Paulo (Sefaz). To understand the changes in this phase, which were driven by movements that occurred at the global and regional levels, in the tax and financial areas, this study also seeks to contextualize the scenario and plot in which they unfolded. From the mid-1990s onwards, at a time when the circulation of goods and services and the mobility of global financial capital were intensifying, marked by an increase in economic, fiscal, financial and structural crises and by greater pressure for the adoption of state reforms of a neoliberal nature, movements were triggered in the fiscal area of several countries that involved: greater exchange of information, sharing of data and experiences; intensification of digitization and training processes; adoption of a set of common norms and rules; and, cooperation and integration between the organizations involved. The idea is that these measures could contribute to the States in combating tax evasion, controlling tax avoidance, adopting measures to adjust public accounts and providing transparent information to managers and investors. In Brazil, this movement incorporates the fiscal management of all federative, federal, state and municipal entities, having implemented in the period programs aimed at fiscal management financed largely with Inter American Development Bank (IDB) resources and which also involved its technical assistance and coordination. ESP participates in these changes through Sefaz, which assumes an active role from the beginning, with participation in several programs (Promocat and Promociaf - Pnafe; Proffis, Profisco I and II). This movement that takes place in a strategic sector of the State, called in this field study fiscal management, involved many relevant actors who were driving forces and/or contributed to its transformation at a global and regional level. Its participants comprise various organizations and social spaces, international, national and subnational. In this dissertation, the transformations in fiscal management are analyzed from the perspective of the Theory of Fields of Strategic Action (TCAE), by Fligstein and McAdam (2012). From this approach, it is assumed that this dynamic involved the interaction between a complex network of fields considered as circumscribed social arenas. It starts with the proposal that any field is embedded in a broader environment, and the source of many of the opportunities and challenges of a given field stem from its relationships with this environment. Movements that occurred during the study period point to the formation of a more structured and integrated international and national tax management, presenting itself as a strategic advantage to be used in the articulation and promotion of agendas for collective discussions of tax and financial policies, in all the levels. This knowledge may also provide Sefaz with the opportunity to improve and expand its relationships in the tax field. The contribution of this study to the academy is also relevant, given the possibility of understanding, through the TCAE, how the processes of change in the State take place, from the perspective of a specific and tactical field of governance, such as the fiscal area. Furthermore, it makes it possible to study an empirical phenomenon from a field perspective, thus seeking to cooperate for collaborative research in fields.

The microstructure of glass-ceramics (GCs) depends on their chemical composition and thermal history, from the cooling of the precursor glass to the heat treatments. In glass production, the cooling rate on the surface is much higher than in the center, allowing the appearance of crystal nuclei in the central parts that cause microstructural heterogeneities in the GC. Furthermore, during the heat treatments, temperature gradients appear in relatively thick or large samples and, consequently, microstructures with different numbers and sizes of crystals will be obtained along the part, causing deterioration of its mechanical properties. In this work, vitreous samples based on the Li2O-SiO2 system were prepared to evaluate the effects of different sample sizes on the appearance of thermal gradients along the two stages of obtaining GCs (cooling and thermal treatments). The heat exchange in these steps and the thermal gradients generated were numerically simulated and the impact of these gradients on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the GCs was analyzed. For that, the glass-forming liquid was poured into copper and 304 stainless steel molds and, from a thermal treatment of crystal growth and optical microscopy analysis, the existence of microstructural gradients caused by nuclei formed in the cooling was evaluated. After nucleation and growth heat tratament, samples from each mold were analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscopy, Biaxial Bending and X-Ray Diffraction. The results indicated that an increase in the size of the mold and the glass produced leads to the appearance of crystalline nuclei inside the part during cooling. However, after the heat treatments of nucleation and crystal growth, the existence of pre-nucleation does not cause significant heterogeneities in the GC. On the other hand, heat treatments in samples with 14 x 45 mm (diameter x height), promote significant thermal gradients and the existence of microstructural gradients, reducing their mechanical properties.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), among its defined characteristics, is the deficit in social communication, one of the factors of greatest concern for parents. Teaching how to develop this skill in your child, in addition to extending the intervention time, is a treatment with satisfactory results. The verbal response is a behavior mediated by a listener, that is, the behavior responds to verbal stimuli and by contingency, based on the contingency between the stimuli that precede and follow the emission of the verbal control. The main verbal operants described in the literature are: mand, tact, echoic, intraverbal, textual and copy. The importance of teaching echoic in the child's development is highlighted, as it is a prerequisite for the installation of other more complex verbal behaviors, in addition to providing the learning of social skills. With regard to the scenario of social isolation, an intervention is made to the mental health of children at risk, especially the probability of risk and, at the same time, to a work group and efficiency of operations. The Behavior Skills Training package was useful to teach parents how to use behavioral procedures with their children with ASD in the home environment. The present study aimed to use caregivers/parents to use the generalized echoic repertoire assessment protocol with autism via remote video-modeling training. Through a multiple baseline design, the results of five participating mothers were observed. The results indicate the diligence of the teaching procedure. For two mothers, their exposure to video modeling was not indicated, given as instructions was sufficient for their video modeling presentation. Video modeling accelerates the learning process.
