Item type:Item, Bloco Eureca - Eu Reconheço o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente: referência de educação em direitos humanos e participação social infanto-juvenil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-10) ;Fernandes, Claudio Oliveira ;Joly, Ilza Zenker Leme ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5569335876343450 ;https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7159-0501https://lattes.cnpq.br/2924013659751594The central objective of this thesis is to analyze and understand how the process of education for citizenship and the struggle for the dissemination of human rights for children and young people takes place with and for the collective in the social practice of this group present in the Bloco EURECA’s activity/action (understood here as a continuous educational act of creating, recreating, signifying, and re-signifying). The Bloco EURECA adopts the concept of its own name: EURECA - Eu Reconheço o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente, and the group was created in 1991 by the Projeto Meninos e Meninas de Rua/PMMR (Street Boys and Girls Project) in São Bernardo do Campo, in the São Paulo metropolitan area, known as ABCDMRR (which includes the cities: Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo, São Caetano do Sul, Diadema, Mauá, Ribeirão Pires and Rio Grande da Serra). Likewise, the Bloco's proposal brings social criticism in a playful, affectionate, dancing, and joyful way, based on the premise that social rights, as social or sectoral policies, are instruments or mechanisms that support the conception of the human rights "grammar". This research deals with this proposal and presents a reflection on the pedagogical political project, the methodology and the contributions of the activity/action and policies of this Bloco, which naturally perceives, defines, classifies, and positions itself as an insurgent movement around hope and the adoption of a new look and treatment for Brazilian children, especially those in situations of vulnerability, risk, and suffering. The subjects of the research are children, adolescents, young people, social educators, who conceive themselves from the understanding that democracy is constituted where human rights are founding principles in the construction of educational development, considering other grammars and alternative languages to the narrative of the typification of human dignity elaborated in the Global North. EURECA's sambas-enredo (samba songs), produced collectively, bring this dimension to thinking (human rights) and gestures (public policies). The context in which this activity is organized and developed is the result of the demand made by different civil organizations, projects, social movements, and other social sectors located in different geographical areas of the State of São Paulo. The methodology adopted by Bloco EURECA is based on Freirean concepts in dialogue with the theoretical framework of the Epistemologies of the South. This research is a qualitative case study. The case study methodology adopted in this research is in line with participant-action research, given the need to broaden the understanding of the phenomenon studied, which is configured in the experiences of violation lived in the daily lives of the Bloco participants. This crosses the categories of individual, group, social movement, social and political protagonism, allowing changes in the way children are seen and treated, as well as in the elaboration and development of their life projects. Data were collected through observations, field diaries, interviews, and the lyrics of the sambas-enredo (samba songs), which were collectively constructed, to study, in detail, the collective activity/action of Bloco EURECA, which has been going on for more than three decades. The development of the theoretical-methodological process of this work has the same guiding thread present in the activity/action of the EURECA Block: the theoretical-methodological framework of the Epistemologies of the South and Freirianism. The research addressed theoretical-methodological and critical concepts based on themes, such as the Irregular Situation Doctrine; the Integral Protection Doctrine; Estatuto da criança e do adolescente/ECA (Child and Adolescent Statute); Human Rights for Children and Adolescents; Education in and for Human Rights; Social Participation; Citizenship for Children and Young People and Carnival and Samba, considering that the paradigm shift in Brazilian legislation, since 1988, in relation to the construction, assimilation and conception of children, adolescents and young people, is one of the key factors in the creation of EURECA. The results show that the Bloco’s trajectory is based on the principle of social and citizen participation, which dialectically permeates everyday life and the world of ideas. The collective work process resulted in the collective creation and re-creation of more than thirty sambas-enredo (samba songs), in a process of action-reflection-action on the different forms of violation and violence suffered by children and adolescents in Brazilian society and the guarantee of their human rights. The possibility of defining EURECA as an insurgent movement around the adoption of a new way of seeing and treating Brazilian children in situations of vulnerability, risk and suffering is expanded and configured as a way of building political-critical awareness among its participants, starting from the relationship between the intention (the idea of human rights for children and adolescents) and the gesture (the materialization of the right).Item type:Item, Ruptura do Manguito Rotador: tratamento baseado em exercícios, avaliação de ensaios clínicos na literatura e apresentação clínica no pós-cirúrgico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-10) ;Ribeiro, Larissa Pechincha ;Camargo, Paula Rezende ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7602596349127054https://lattes.cnpq.br/5136879002520200Among the most common diagnoses in patients with shoulder pain are rotator cuff (RC) tears. Although conservative exercise-based treatment as suggested as first line in the management of individuals with RC tears, there is no consensus or evidence to suggest an exercise program for his population and many patients opt to do surgical tendon repair. Thus, it is important that the literature presents sufficient detail to facilitate the implementation of the studies’ findings in clinical practice, and also to understand which factors can influence patient satisfaction with the shoulder to help better clinical outcomes. This thesis is composed of three studies: Study 1: Objective: To compare two exercise-based treatment programs for individuals diagnosed with RC tears. Methods: Subjects with shoulder pain and diagnosis of atraumatic and degenerative RC tear participate in this controlled, randomized and blind clinical trial. One group performs an exercise with no emphasis on the RC and the other group performs exercise program with emphasis on the RC. The primary outcome is quality of life. Patients receive treatment for 12 weeks (2x/week). Results and conclusion: So far, 34 patients have been randomized. Partial analyzes are not appropriate until completion of the study. We expect to offer scientific bases that can help physiotherapists in the management of individuals with RC tear. Study 2: Objective: To evaluate description and fidelity of clinical trials with exercise-based treatment for the population diagnosed with RC tears. Methods: A scoping review was carried out through a systematic search in 8 databases (PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, LILACS, Cochrane, Web of Science, SCOPUS e SciELO). Clinical trials performed in individuals with RC tears confirmed by imaging were included. All studies should have offered some exercise-based treatment. The methodological quality of the studies was assessed using the PEDro scale (Physiotherapy Evidence Database scale). The TIDieR checklist (Template for Intervention Description and Replication) was used to evaluate the description, and the NIHBCC, (National Institutes of Health Behavior Change Consortium) to evaluate the fidelity of the implementation. Results and conclusion: Despite the adequate methodological quality of the studies, the description of interventions and the fidelity of implementation are reported unsatisfactorily. Improving the description and fidelity of the intervention will support evidence-based practice. Study 3: Objective: To understand which factors can influence satisfaction after RC repair surgery. Methods: Individuals who underwent surgical RC tendon repair completed an online survey. Demographic information, previous and current history were collected with questions about surgical approach, sleep quality, physical therapy treatment, satisfaction, in addition to questionnaires assessing shoulder pain and disability and kinesiophobia. A multiple linear regression was used to investigate the association between the independent variables and the subjects’ satisfaction. Results and conclusion: Sixty-three individuals (59.2±13.6 years, 79.2±12.2 kg, 1.68±0.09 m) participated in the research. Surgery was performed on the dominant side in 54% of subjects, and 38.1% considered themselves much better (+7) on the global of rating of change scale. People with high levels of disability and kinesiophobia were dissatisfied with the surgery.Item type:Item, Uma proposta didática para o estudo da função quadrática no ensino médio por meio da modelagem matemática de um experimento(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-10) ;Almeida, Cleber Aparecido de ;Seixas, Wladimir ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1697352974728327https://lattes.cnpq.br/8330710700968107This dissertation presents a pedagogical proposal based on the Mathematical Modeling method for the study of the quadratic function. Based on an experiment with the transfer of liquids by gravity between two prism-shaped reservoirs, the student will use manual and electronic resources to model the relationship between the heights of the liquids within the two prisms. According to the guidelines contained in the official documents: National Common Curricular Base, Paulista Curriculum and Curricular Reference of the SESI-SP Teaching System that guide the teaching work through the meeting of the necessary skills and competences for the integral formation of the student, we analyzed the presentation and the treatment of quadratic function teaching in high school, including observing the presentation in the Student's Notebook, of the SESI textbook and also, by sampling, a book from the National Textbook Program. Thus, this didactic proposal uses the method of Mathematical Modeling through an experiment, a simulator in GeoGebra, spreadsheet and activity sheets. The implementation of the pedagogical proposal was carried out with a group of 1st year of high school followed by the analysis of the results obtained.Item type:Item, Projeto conceitual de um rastreador de satélites(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-10) ;Meira, Katylin Rainara Cunha de ;Moreno, Mariano Eduardo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1307496862518321https://lattes.cnpq.br/5034027452530888Given the technology advancements in the aerospace sector and the increasing number of low-cost educational nanosatellite missions launched in low Earth orbits, it’s necessary to find solutions that enable communication between the ground and space segments. In order to occur the communication, it’s necessary that the antenna follows the satellite’s trajectory along the largest possible field of view. Therefore, this work proposes a conceptual design aimed to provide a solution for satellite tracking, so that the "tracker" is able to track a satellite in orbit in both azimuth and elevation. The design process revealed difficulties in finding appropriate components and, in some cases, custom components had to be designed to meet the objectives. Other challenges were faced in the interfaces between each subsystem, but technically feasible solutions were found and evaluated, whenever possible, based on design methodology theories, reaching the concept of the "tracker" product. Several aspects related to the project are presented and discussed, justifying the adopted solutions. The concept presented here proved to be feasible, assemblable and manufacturable, however, it still needs to be tested and further optimization of the mass and geometry of components can be done in later stages of the methodology, such as the preliminary and detailed design stages.Item type:Item, Gestão democrática para a acessibilização de programas de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu: o caso UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-10) ;Lima, André Henrique de ;Cabral, Leonardo Santos Amâncio ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5306031040506357 ;https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3520-3687https://lattes.cnpq.br/5923802418381538This research discusses the democratic management dedicated to the promotion of accessibility in contexts of postgraduate programs - PPGs. In recent years, the democratization of these spaces has culminated in the expansion of the representation of human diversity. Thus, among other challenges, PPGs have been urged to recognize and ensure the rights of people with disabilities at the time of entry (formal right), access (material right), permanence, and title. In this context, the present research had the general objective of identifying and analyzing factors that constitute the legitimation of the right of entry, access, permanence, and title of people with disabilities in stricto sensu graduate programs. As specific objectives, we have: a) to understand and systematize the offers and demands that people with disabilities present to institutional managers involved in PPGs; b) identify elements that support institutional guidelines for the promotion of accessibility in postgraduate contexts, and; c) approach the Institutional Analysis approach to the elements that indicate and configure the construction of accessibility in PPGs. In compliance with ethical principles in research, we carried out an exploratory and qualitative case study. Data collection took place at the Federal University of São Carlos - UFSCar, in the online modality, and had the participation of eight PPG coordinators (in ten brainstorm sessions) and two Pro-Rectory of Graduate Studies managers - ProPG (in three institutional meetings). The data were treated in light of the approach of content analysis and its analysis was based on the compendia of the theory of Institutional Analysis by Gregório Baremblitt. The results suggest that democratic management for accessibility depends on the co-responsibility of the actors involved, orchestrated in an interdisciplinary and intersectoral way, having as a guiding principle the materialization of the rights of people with disabilities (among servers and students) within any area of knowledge. In this sense, in addition to the dialogue established with the academic-scientific community, the research results bring some subsidies to improve debates and guidelines for implementing policies and practices of democratic management to promote accessibility. For a long period, the reality of Psychoactive substances abuse in Brazil was conducted predominantly, from a medical and psychiatric perspective, giving few spaces for psychological, political, and socio-economic perspectives. Brazilian psychiatric reform and the Brazilian anti-asylum struggle are important milestones toward the care and treatment of people with substance use disorders paradigm shift. Despite the emergence, a long time ago, of Therapeutic Communities and Psychosocial Care Centers for Alcohol and Drugs (CAPS-AD) as a resource for treatment of people with disorders related to substance use, there is a lack of understanding about the differences among these kinds of treatments and how it takes place. Background: A scoping review is required, due to a gap in the scientific literature related to differences and particularities of the treatments performed in Therapeutic Communities and CAPS AD in Brazil. General objective: Describe the scientific evidence about how treatments are offered both, in therapeutic communities and in CAPS AD, for people with disorders related to substance use. Specific objectives: Identify possible differences and similarities between the treatments offered in therapeutic communities and CAPS AD and understand how users perceive the experience of treatments in these different services Methodology: In order to recognize the evidence produced so far, a scoping review was carried out, which sought to bring a mapping of the literature in this field of interest. For the search, the databases BVS, Web of Sciences, Scielo, Portal CAPES, and PubMed were used. The terms 1 - “therapeutic community” and treatment; 2- “therapeutic community” and “user perception”; 3 - “therapeutic community” and definition; 4 - “CAPS AD” and treatment; 5 - "CAPS AD" and "user perception" e 6- “CAPS AD” and definition both in English and Portuguese were used for the literature search. For the review, it was included qualitative studies published in the period between 1986 and 2021, in Portuguese and English, from studies conducted in Brazil. To organize the studies, the Rayyan platform was used. The steps stated by the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews were used for the methodological organization. Results: 1582 studies were found, of which 1573 were available and, after the peer decision and conflicts resolved (using the PICO strategy), a final number of 14 studies were included in the review, with regard to divergences and similarities in the two distincts modes of treatment, similar contents were observed, such as the logic of abstinence and prejudice towards users who are undergoing treatment, but there are also quite considerable differences, mainly in the way in which both treatments advocate care for people with substance use disorders, with treatment in freedom and the harm reduction strategy (CAPS-AD) as opposed to treatment in deprivation of liberty (CT). Conclusions: Was perceived a deficit of qualitative studies addressing the mental health of users of these services, in addition, a smaller number of studies carried out in TCs was found. Thus, it is important to consider the limitations in terms of achieving the objectives proposed here. However, it was possible to observe some divergences and confluences of the perceptions of the users treated in the different devices, making future studies necessary to effectively compare the perception of the users about these treatments.Item type:Item, Tradução e adaptação cultural da COVID stress scales no Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-10) ;Pellegrini, Andréa Regina ;Orlandi, Fabiana de Souza ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7395879552721664https://lattes.cnpq.br/7317171076721604The Coronavirus Disease -COVID-19- pandemic is currently one of the greatest public health emergencies the international community has been facing. In addition to concerns on physical health, that disease also raises concerns on mental health, since psychological suffering can be experienced by the population and health professionals, directly impacting their quality of life. The intensification of fear, anger, stress, insecurity and frustration are associated to a higher risk of psychiatric disorders devepment. In that context, the availability of a stress measurement instrument related to COVID-19 and Mental Health is of great relevance. The COVID Stress Scales (CSS) is an instrument that measures the stress resulting from COVID-19. The CSS was developed in Canada and the United States and to evidence its reliability as well as its validity. The objective of this study was to translate and to adapt the CSS culturally to Brazil. This methodological study respected the steps recommended in the literature. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of São Carlos. The accomplished phases were: translation performed by two independent and bilingual translators producing two versions of the instrument; synthesis of the translations carried out by the researchers together the translators to produce a consensuous version; instrument back-translated into the original language by another translator; review carried out by a Committee of specialists composed of 07 judges. From the thirty-six items in the CSS consensuous version, thirty-two had a CVI=1, which were considered equivalent and maintained in the pre-final version; four of then presented CVI=0,86 not requiring any modification, one item referring to the scale score and one item on the explanatory note about compulsive behavior presented CVI=0,71 and they were modified as suggested by the specialists. The pre-test was performed by 40 participants, who were 47,53 (± 13,99) years old in average, ranging from 19 to 78 years old. Most of them were female (70%) and married or in a stable union (40%). The average number of schooling years was 13,90 and their average income was 4.096,77 reais. Cronbach's alpha ranged from 0,81 to 0,95. Like this study, other countries also reported a coefficient similar to the original CSS, confirming satisfactory values of internal consistency in all domains of the instrument. In the present study, the CSS is named COVID-19 Stress Scale and its continuity is essencial for its validation as well as its use in future researches. Starting from the hypothesis that the changes that occurred in the scope of curricular policies are aimed at training and guiding individuals towards a new societal model, this research aimed to analyze the curricular policy of the São Paulo state network and the teaching of Mathematics in 2011 and 2020 in the light of Historical-Critical Pedagogy. We start from historical-dialectical materialism to analyze the Official Curriculum Proposals of the São Paulo state network of 2011 and 2020, in order to identify the changes in the conception of Curriculum, Mathematics education and privileged knowledge from its historical eternity. For this, we study the Historical-Critical Pedagogy and its conception of education and the history of Mathematics education in Brazil and in the world, associated with movements of curriculum policy formulations. As a result, we observed that changes in a Curriculum Proposal move towards the consolidation of the neoliberal project of society.Item type:Item, Relações entre autoritarismo e fracasso escolar: atitudes de agentes escolares profissionais e implicações na vida escolar de estudantes do ensino médio(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-13) ;Marcato, Célio Tiago ;Conti, Celso Luiz Aparecido ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6967887143687279 ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1792573254284850https://orcid.org/0009-0003-2001-3669This work was intended to establish a relationship between inappropriate professional school agents’ postures and negative implications in the students' school life, and also to set up guidelines for action in order to overcome these situations. For this, in light of the communicative methodology, conceptual investigations were carried out, through review and bibliographical survey, in national and international databases, in order to form a synthesized theoretical framework, aiming at definitions of concepts presented in the hypothesis of this research, precisely authoritarianism and school failure. Then, field research was carried out to identify inappropriate practices at school, focusing on authoritarian practices and actions, and their consequences in relation to attendance, performance, dropout and retention, the main evidence of school failure. As research subjects, we have established high school students from the Araraquara region, and as the main sample, we have defined students who graduated from regular high school between 2012 and 2017 and who are currently studying technical education. We have concluded that there are some opened and camouflaged practices of authoritarianism by professional school agents, such as disrespect, manifested by offenses to the student's cognitive capacity, class prejudice, unwillingness to dialogue and the chances of recovery. We have concluded, by extension, that these practices imply school failure, whether in attendance, performance, retention or, at the limit, dropout. Finally, in a propositional way, we have guided towards an action to overcome situations of authoritarianism from professional school agents in order to minimize the possibilities of school failure and, in effect, increase the possibilities of overcoming situations of social vulnerability.Item type:Item, Atravessamentos femininos na formação em Física em contexto de pandemia da Covid-19: um esboço cartográfico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-13) ;Gomes, Marcelle Tácita de Oliveira ;Souza, Carolina Rodrigues de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8152101475247049https://lattes.cnpq.br/7814668427814880In this dissertation, I map the participation of women in the so-called exact sciences, in particular in Physics, in times of the covid-19 pandemic. Studies and daily practices show that there is an exclusion of diversities (gender, racial, social, ethical, political) in this field. The research was guided by the theories of Feminist Science and Gender Studies, studies supported by researchers such as Marcia Barbosa and Betina Lima (2013), Marinês Cordeiro (2017), Teresa de Lauretis (1987), Guacira Louro (1997), Margareth Rago (2013), Hilary Rose (1989), Steven Rose and Lisa Appignanesi (1989), Londa Schiebinger (2001), Carmen Silva and Silvia Camurça (2013), Fabiane Silva (2012) and Alessandra Alves (2021). Historically, in the process of development of science in Brazil, some social segments were markedly contemplated with the attraction of their members and women were not part of these segments. In this period of the covid-19 pandemic, the training process offered by federal universities in the country started to be carried out remotely. Most women begin to develop their academic training, in the exact sciences, within their homes. From this scenario, the research under development aims to map the intensities of these movements made by them during the pandemic, anchored in the thoughts of philosophers Deleuze and Guattari and authors Suely Rolnik (1989) and Virgínia Kastrup (2007). Guided by these authors, the research seeks to map these bodies, historically distanced from the field of exact sciences, and in the current singular moment of the covid-19 pandemic, bodies present and resistant in this space. In the sense of an exercise in intensity, we proposed to map, create, highlight, investigate, organize our ways of acting to think about the processes experienced in this pandemic period by women in training in a Physics courseItem type:Item, Análises das terapias fotodinâmica, sonodinâmica e sonofotodinâmica para a inativação de biofilmes de candida albicans(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-13) ;Guimarães, Gabriela ;Alves, Fernanda ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1756585076284282 ;https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7362-5744Bagnato, Vanderlei SalvadorHumanity has been plagued by infectious diseases throughout history and they remain one of the leading causes of death in the world. Fungal infections (FIs) represent an example of these emerging diseases, accounting for approximately 1.7 million deaths annually. The fungus Candida albicans can act as an opportunistic pathogen that has the ability to form biofilms as a resistance mechanism. C. albicans biofilms are resistant to antifungal agents, therefore, the search for alternative therapies that are able to inactivate biofilms is necessary. Alternative treatments arise, such as photodynamic inactivation (PDI), sonodynamic (SDI) and sonophotodynamic (SPDI). The present work analyzed PDI, SDI and SPDI, mediated by Curcumin as a photosensitizer in the inactivation of C.albicans biofilms, in addition, the work evaluated the role of ultrasound and light parameters in sonophotodynamic inactivation. Thus, the results showed that SPDI, PDI and SDI were able to reduce viability by 6.0; 1.2; 2.0 log, respectively, compared to the control biofilm. The results showed that with low doses of US, the effectiveness of the treatment decreases, and with higher doses, the effectiveness is greater, therefore, the US has a fundamental role in the effectiveness. The results also demonstrate that the use of light in combination with US is a promising alternative option to overcome limitations of PDI and SDI. These aspects reinforce and encourage the use and evaluation of SPDI for microbial diseases. This work aims to address the relationship between adolescence, anxiety and education, considering dimensions related to the development and school life of adolescents (specifically high school students), with a view to focusing on theoretical assumptions related to these themes and their possible connections. For that, a narrative review was carried out (ROTHER, 2007). The following topics are addressed: concept and historical context of adolescence; puberty and psychosocial aspects of adolescent development; anxiety and adolescence, historical aspects of education and school; and about the adolescent’s school life. It discusses the importance of carrying out proposals for the prevention and awareness of anxiety in schools, monitoring and offering the necessary specialized support to adolescents who have difficulties in dealing with the pressures and conflicts that may arise at this stage and during their schooling, seeking to create possibilities for the psychosocial strengthening of this subject and his better integration into society. It is concluded that adolescence is historically constituted in social and economic relations and is not made in biological changes, with the experience of adolescents being marked by the biases of capitalist society and man’s behavior in contemporary times.Item type:Item, Modelagem da rugosidade de insertos de metal duro com base na topografia do rebolo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-13) ;Costa, Hugo Emanoel de Andrade ;Ventura, Carlos Eiji Hirata ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1689198421096127https://lattes.cnpq.br/1640243504857858After sintering, cemented tungsten carbide cutting inserts are ground so that the final dimensions can be obtained and surface defects can be reduced. To quantify the insert surface quality after the finishing process, different roughness parameters are measured, which depend on the process conditions and, mainly, on the grinding wheel topography. In order to reduce carrying out experiments to determine the conditions that lead to optimal roughness values, which involves consumption of time and resources, several analytical and numerical models have been applied. In this research, however, it is proposed the use of a graphic model, elaborated through CAD software, based not only on the kinematics of the process, but also on the characteristics of the grinding wheel topography and of the workpiece, such as geometry and spatial distribution of the abrasive grits. As obtained through the graphic models, the Rayleigh distribution used to position the grit about to its protrusion, grinding wheels with smaller grain protrusion and inserts with lower initial roughness led to lower values of final roughness. For the surfaces simulated with the real grinding wheel topography, in general, it was observed that higher grain protrusion or number of active cutting edges caused an increase in roughness, as the surface was significantly modified. Palavra claves: Algoritmos. (1989 a 1992)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-14) ;Aceituno, Gabriela ;Santos, Maria Walburga dos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2954227254025696https://lattes.cnpq.br/9787048458711616This dissertation recovers the historical context of care for babies and young children after the Federal Constitution of 1988, in Sorocaba, São Paulo, Brazil, and analyzes the “Creche & Vida” project. The objective is to know, recognize and communicate the dimensions of continuing education and pedagogical work with babies and very young children in this project, in addition to documenting childhood care during this period. As specific objectives, we have: to map and document the history of early childhood education in Sorocaba from the project “Creche & Vida”; relate and recognize history by valuing continuing education; get to know the conceptions of nursery, children, education and assistance for this project; to investigate ruptures and permanences in the historical process of the constitution of the teaching profession in day care centers. The research, in its methodological organization, is of a qualitative, bibliographical and documental nature, and is carried out from the reading of theses, articles, books and documents referring to the history of the day care center in the country, with attention to the process in Sorocaba, including the laws federal, state and municipal education and childhood, also analyzing news from newspapers published in the city. In addition, reinforcing the qualitative nature, the research also has episodic interviews as sources, with people who worked in daycare centers during the term of the “Creche & Vida” project, that is, between the years 1989 and 1992. the interviews carried out make it possible to identify advances achieved by the day care center over the years and also provoke reflection on various topics relevant to the quality of care for babies and young children, such as teacher learning, public policies and investments, the day care center as a educational space, considering educating and caring, as well as the infrastructure and pedagogical work, paying attention to respect for childhood and children, playing and the presence of the teacher in the day care institution.Item type:Item, A dimensão axiológica no processo de alfabetização: análise da Base Nacional Comum Curricular à luz de Freire(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-14) ;Lima, Tácyla Agum Theotonio de ;Torres, Juliana Rezende ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/3083345943491817https://lattes.cnpq.br/1982172954373751The theme of this study reflects the axiological dimension of the National Common Curricular Basis (NCCB) in the literacy process, in the light of Paulo Freire's pedagogy. This work is the result of a critical analysis of the Portuguese Language subject in the Early Years of Elementary School I, at the NCCB using Freire's critical-liberating pedagogy as an analytical framework. The main objective of the research is to investigate the axiological character of the proximities and distances between the literacy process present in the NCCB and in critical-liberating education. The main objective of the research is to investigate the axiological character of the proximities and distances between the literacy process present in the NCCC and the critical-liberating education. This research presents a qualitative approach using bibliographic research and document analysis. It was necessary to analyze the theoretical-methodological foundation of the NCCB and its curricular structure to understand the conception of education present in this document, to reach the axiological dimension that directs it. In order to perform the documental analysis, we selected the following Freirean categories: reading the articulated words and the world; think right; authentic praxis. The main results of the research are: 1) The conception of the literacy process set out in the NCCB shows a distance from Freire's pedagogy and close proximity to banking education, denounced by Freire; 2) The literacy process proposed in the NCCB presents a reductionist, empiricist and associationist character; and 3) The axiological dimension focused on the literacy process present in the NCCB is based on theoretically and methodologically grounded values in the concept of traditional education.Item type:Item, O comportamento do consumidor no desperdício de alimentos em domicílios brasileiros(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-02-14) ;Deliberador, Lucas Rodrigues ;César, Aldara da Silva ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7269278746075136 ;Batalha, Mario Otáviohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/1015001063418091Food waste represents one third of all food produced globally. While this problem is characteristic of developed countries, Brazil is among the nations that waste the most food, which adds to the challenge of feeding 52 million people who still live in a situation of food insecurity in the country. In order to contribute towards mitigating the problem, this study identified how aspects of consumer behavior influence food waste in Brazilian households. Through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), it was identified the drivers that may lead consumers to waste food in their homes. An analytical framework based on an extension of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) was proposed to empirically measure these determinants of food waste. For this analysis, the study conducted a survey of 2047 Brazilian consumers. Structural Equation Modeling was used as a data analysis technique. The results confirmed eleven of the seventeen proposed hypotheses. Environmental concerns, economic concerns, feelings of guilt, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control had significant causality on consumers' intention to reduce food waste. On the other hand, perceived behavioral control, intention, home planning, convenience food consumption, suboptimal food consumption, and good provider identity had significant causality on food wasting behavior. With the results of the study, it is expected, in addition to understanding the behavior of Brazilian consumers regarding food waste in households, to contribute to waste prevention policies and develop future research agendas in this area. In addition to these contributions, the study may contribute to the scarce literature on this theme in emerging countries.
