Resumo

This dissertation presents a pedagogical proposal based on the Mathematical Modeling method for the study of the quadratic function. Based on an experiment with the transfer of liquids by gravity between two prism-shaped reservoirs, the student will use manual and electronic resources to model the relationship between the heights of the liquids within the two prisms. According to the guidelines contained in the official documents: National Common Curricular Base, Paulista Curriculum and Curricular Reference of the SESI-SP Teaching System that guide the teaching work through the meeting of the necessary skills and competences for the integral formation of the student, we analyzed the presentation and the treatment of quadratic function teaching in high school, including observing the presentation in the Student's Notebook, of the SESI textbook and also, by sampling, a book from the National Textbook Program. Thus, this didactic proposal uses the method of Mathematical Modeling through an experiment, a simulator in GeoGebra, spreadsheet and activity sheets. The implementation of the pedagogical proposal was carried out with a group of 1st year of high school followed by the analysis of the results obtained.
