(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-08-23) Borges, Daniel Zilioli; Carrara, Aniela Fagundes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2348376949393246; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3131-2344
Considering the increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies and the relevance of blockchain as the technological foundation for such digital assets, the present study aims to analyze blockchain technology by comparing the volatility of cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, and ethereum, with that of traditional internationally circulated currencies, the US Dollar and the Euro, during the peak period of the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose is to verify if currencies traded via blockchain technology exhibit greater stability, given a moment of heightened uncertainty. In order to address the stated objective, a descriptive analysis of the price series of the aforementioned currencies was conducted, along with the decomposition of these series and tests of stationarity. As the main result, it was found that, for the analyzed period, cryptocurrencies exhibited volatility levels as high as those of traditional currencies.

The phenomenon of phase transitions is by itself an extremely intriguing phenomenon, and is a central object of investigation in several areas of science. Melting is a first-order phase transition that is present in many situations, and its study has numerous applications in industry (in the oil industry, for example, to avoid the crystallization of its components during extraction and transport processes), in everyday life (as to avoid ice formation on asphalt) and environmental (study of melting polar ice caps fields). In particular, it is of interest in chemistry to study the melting point of crystals whose constituents are organic compounds (molecular crystals), since these crystals can be manipulated for application in organic syntheses and other laboratory applications. This work brings a review of several concepts involved in the study of the melting point of molecular crystals, focusing on crystals formed by hydrocarbons with not very long chains. The objective is to explain the importance of computational studies on the subject, correlating with experimental studies and bringing some difficulties and results, with emphasis on the even-odd effect and its microscopic origins, which are difficult to investigate experimentally, and on the molecular dynamics method to simulations of the fusion of molecular crystals. In Chapter 1, general aspects of phase transitions are discussed, in Chapter 2 the objectives of this work are presented and in Chapter 3 the discussion is focused in solid −→ liquid phase transition (melting), with emphasis on how this transition occurs in organic compounds and reviewing the even-odd effect. In the Chapter 4, a review of fundamental aspects of molecular dynamics simulations is made, and in Chapter 5, the application of molecular dynamics in the study of the melting point of molecular crystals is discussed, highlighting some techniques applied to improve the method and some results from the literature.

Introduction: Specific health demands may exist among the older adults and this reinforces the need to study aspects capable of improving quality of life and health in old age. In this sense, social support has been considered an important determinant of health and disease. With the aging population and the higher prevalence of chronic non-communicable diseases, there may be limitations in the performance of activities of daily living and the need for a caregiver. The task of caregiving may arise suddenly and the caregiver may need social support, especially when they are older adults who care for other older adults. Scholars point out that having social support in old age can improve the quality of life and well-being of caregivers. It is known that a lack of social support can intensify health problems and negatively impact caregiving. Thus, by early identification of the scarcity or insufficiency of social support, interventions can be planned in order to reduce health care costs and improve the quality of life of these individuals. Objective: comparing social support and quality of life among older caregivers and older adults care recipients. Method: observational, cross-sectional and quantitative research. It is a cut of a larger study conducted in the city of São Carlos/SP, with 112 older people aged 60 years or older who lived with another older person, 56 older caregivers and 56 older adults care receivers. Data collection took place at the older adults home from July/2019 to March/2020, with the following instruments: questionnaire for characterization of the older adults (caregivers and care recipients) and of the care context, Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Scale and two Quality of Life Questionnaires (WHOQOL-Bref and WHOQOL-Old). Descriptive and comparative analyses were performed. Pearson's Chi-square, Mann-Whitney, and Spearman's Correlation tests were used. The significance level adopted was 5% (p<0.05). All ethical aspects involving research with human beings were observed. Results: regarding social support, the older caregivers obtained a mean score of 81.64 and the older adults care receivers, 83.53. With regard to the results obtained in the scales on quality of life, the older caregivers had total mean scores of 61.79 and 71.73. The older adults care receivers had mean total scores of 60.73 and 70.39. A statistically significant difference was identified between the participants for material support (p=0.004) and the physical domain of the quality of life scale (p=0.002). A direct and moderate correlation was observed between quality of life and social support of the older caregivers (p<0.001). Conclusion: older caregivers have lower scores of material support and better perception of the physical domain of the quality of life scale when compared to the older adults care receivers. Moreover, the correlation identified between the variables of interest allows us to infer that the higher the score obtained in the social support scale, the higher the score in the quality of life scale.

Scientific, Technological, and Innovation Institutions (ICT in Portuguese) are undergoing transformative shifts, expanding beyond traditional roles in teaching, research, and extension to embrace the entrepreneurial dimensions of universities. These changes are propelled by key legislations, namely the Technological Innovation Law and the Legal Framework for Science, Technology, and Innovation. These legal frameworks introduce novel initiatives previously underrepresented in academia, including the management of intellectual property, the promotion of technology transfer, encouragement of entrepreneurship, and fostering partnerships with the business and industrial sectors. In this dynamic and innovative landscape, establishing effective mechanisms for the dissemination and visibility of ICT capabilities is imperative, whether through information systems or strategic initiatives. An observation of the current scenario reveals fragmentation, lack of organization, and limited accessibility to scientific and technological information within the Brazilian ICT context. This underscores the absence of a centralized management unit for integrated information. In response to this situation, this research aims to diagnose the means of disseminating scientific and technological information in Brazilian ICT. The study is structured in four stages: categorization of scientific and technological information, collection and analysis of perceptions from researchers and companies regarding information systems, mapping and analysis of systems using responses from Technological Innovation Centres (NIT in Portuguese), and, finally, proposing a prototype for a unified query system. To fulfil the methodological aspects, the study engaged in the categorization of 14 vectors of scientific and technological information produced by ICT. The analysis of information systems revealed that 19% of ICTs lack a system for any vector, while only 3% have a system for all vectors. Notably, the vector "legislation and regulation of ICT in innovation" stands out, with more than 50% of ICTs having an information system for it. The primary strategy for the origin of these information systems is internal development. Based on responses from 161 NITs, an information system prototype (public consultation interface) has been developed. This prototype facilitates access to ICT information systems and enables simultaneous consultation of all systems across all vectors. The proposed public consultation system prototype marks a crucial step toward transparency and accessibility of information. In conclusion, the importance of improving the dissemination of scientific and technological information is evident in the inclusion of this topic in the FORTEC (Portuguese acronym for Innovation and Technology Transfer Managers Forum) Innovation Survey in 2020 and the systematization initiatives identified in the diagnosis. While progress has been made, there is still room for advancement, whether through collaborative development, increased sharing of individually developed systems, or the creation of integrative systems for cross-institutional consultation.

The population, both in developing and developed countries, has been living longer, achieving greater longevity. As a result, families and governments, through their research institutes, seek alternatives related to the care and specificities of the elderly, since the Federal Constitution guarantees dignity, sociability, well-being, and the right to life for this portion of the population. Its objective was to analyze the perception of residents in the central region of Araraquara - SP regarding the impacts caused by vacant properties, accessibility, and living in the city center. The research was conducted as a subset of a larger study, supported by regular FAPESP assistance (Process nº2017/15781-9). The study is cross-sectional, descriptive, exploratory, based on literature review and field visits, with data analyzed using a qualitative-quantitative approach. After the field visits, overall satisfaction with residing in the area was found due to significant infrastructure. However, a significant portion expressed concern about vacant properties and their negative consequences, primarily related to feelings of insecurity.

From the observation of the increase in the elderly population in Brazil and in the world, changes must occur mainly in what concerns the health system, associated with the increase in chronic diseases and health conditions resulting from senescence, such as PARI (Hearing Loss Related to Age). Thus, it is important to investigate the relationship between elderly people with PARI, access to health services and access to the city in correlation with current legislation. The objective of this work was to analyze which are the architectural and communicational barriers that may prevent access to the Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER) and to the city in general. This is a cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive and quantitative-qualitative research. We sought to know the CER of Araraquara/SP and carry out a mapping of it to study the facilities and barriers in relation to the accessibility that the service offers. For this purpose, interviews were conducted with managers and workers at the site in addition to mapping. We tried to understand the dynamics of the health service and verify if the rights established by the Brazilian Law of Inclusion and the Statute of the Elderly Person are being granted to elderly people with hearing loss, thus contributing to improve the CER, hearing health policies and access to the city. The findings revealed that the biggest barriers in relation to access to the service and also to the hearing aid were related to transportation and urban mobility, communication, waiting list and social support. While the facilitators consisted of architectural accessibility, the ambience of the place and the well-structured flow of care. The importance of this study is understood, as there is little research on this topic in the literature, but it is still a very relevant subject towards increasing the quality of life of elderly people and people with disabilities in general.

Reports of violence against the elderly are a challenge faced by aging populations. Faced with this, various bodies and services are responsible for guaranteeing the rights to a full life, including the Councils for the Rights of the Elderly. Objective: To systematize the flow of complaints received by a Municipal Council for the Elderly (CMI) and identify the sectors involved in following up complaints. Methodology: This is an exploratory, descriptive study based on qualitative and quantitative research. Thematic content analysis was applied based on the theoretical framework. Authorization for the research was obtained. This study had two stages: a literature review and documentary analysis of CMI records relating to complaints received between 2019-2022. Both stages were carried out virtually and a field script was used. Results: Scientific production is scarce, and the six productions identified indicate the theme related to health care measures, and none related to the application of flowcharts in this context. Regarding stage two, it was found that the CMI has documents for registering complaints, but does not have systematized internal flows, nor does it have a flowchart. It primarily receives complaints from the Women's Police Station and Dial 100. It sends most complaints to the Specialized Social Assistance Reference Centre and the main communication channel is through the electronic system (e-mail). This study produced two flowcharts, the first of which was faithful to all the organized collection and the second is a proposal for the CMI, integrating the theoretical content on the subject and identifying the areas of activity and services linked to resolving situations of violence against the elderly. It is hoped that the flowchart will contribute to work processes, agility, and resolution.

The present study aimed to conduct a bibliographic survey on how issues relevant to the daily lives of LGBTQIA+ children and adolescents, particularly transgender individuals, in Brazilian schools are approached by academia. The descriptors used for the search on the CAFE Capes platform were: Transgender school; LGBTQIA+ school; Transgender education; LGBTQIA+ children and adolescents, and Transgender children. Sixty-seven works were selected, and ten were chosen based on the objectives of this study. The methodology employed was qualitative research, involving document analysis and bibliographic research. Together, these methods provided a rich search for documents, their analysis, comparisons, in-depth investigations, and questioning, to approach a conclusion on the topic. It is evident that, despite progress in our society and education, much still needs to be done to ensure a quality space for learning for our LGBTQIA+ children, especially transgender individuals, without subjecting them to such prejudiced acts of violence in these settings.

Women are the majority of the population in both Brazil and São Carlos, however they continue to face limited representation across various domains, which contributes to the lack of the sense of security and support in the city. Public transportation harbors the potential to provide self-sufficiency among women through employment opportunities, facilitating their access to healthcare, and education. Achieving equitable access to public transport involves understanding how it accommodates the efficiency, sustainable mobility, and security needs of both genders. The main goal of this study is to examine urban public transportation in São Carlos through the users’ perspective, focusing on quality and security, to conduct a gender-based analysis of the results from women’s point of view. The study was derived from the data generated by an online survey with multiple choice questions related to User Profile and Quality and Security of Public Transportation, based on the UITP-CittaMobi National Survey on Public Transportation Safety (UITP-CITTAMOBI, 2018) and the global quality assessment matrix model for users presented by Ferraz and Torres in 2004. The analysis of the results revealed that the perception of the system quality remains a relatively consistent pattern across genders. However, concerning security, women’s and men's perspectives significantly contrast on specific aspects. Therefore, it is relevant to analyze the quality and security of public transport through a gender-oriented lens. This approach aims to build a more equitable and sustainable society promoting parity in urban mobility through a targeted approach to the implementation of improvements.

In opposition to the advance in the number of elderly people, there are factors that hinder the exercise of their rights, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, considering that it has abruptly changed the exercise of the population. That said, there is a clear need for studies that identify the effects on the adult and elderly population, since this information contributes to the development of knowledge and public policies, opening up the consequences and improving their health and quality of life. Objective: To analyze the impacts suffered by adults and the elderly, regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, seeking to verify a relationship between the impact and its similarities with the quality of life, comparing them between adults and the elderly. Method: This is a quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive study, which will be carried out in a basic health unit in São Carlos - SP, through the application of a sociodemographic questionnaire and the WHOQOL-bref and Questionnaire on the impact of the coronavirus instruments. All ethical precepts will be appreciated. Results: 60 people were interviewed, mostly women (n=41; 68.3%), adults (n= 41; 68.3%), single (n= 24; 40%) and white (n= 38; 63, 3%). The impacts were greater in the elderly population, with mean scores of 37.36 on the total IQ and “11.78”, “1.52” and “14.05” in the financial, resource and psychological domains, respectively. In addition, the best perception of quality of life was in adults, in the physical (65.22), psychological (59.92), social relationships (65.19) and environment (61.63) domains, however without statistical significance (p>0.05). Also, it was observed that the greater the age, the greater the psychological impacts (r= 0.465; p= 0.001), as well as the lower the income, the greater the vulnerabilities suffered during the pandemic – total IQ (r= -0.373; p= 0.003), financial domain (r= -0.394; p= 0.002) and psychological (r= -0.352; p= 0.006). 85; p= 0.029) and social relationships (46.28; p= 0.045) among smokers, in contrast to the positive impact of religion on the psychological domain (67.59; p=0.033). Conclusion: The coronavirus pandemic established transformations in the lives of the population, impacting negatively and in a higher way the elderly population, concomitantly, contributing to a worse perception of the quality of life of the adult population.

(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-08-23) Maekawa, Rafael; Delai, Ivete; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7054145506480670; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3555193728066314
The pandemic has changed the habits of people across the planet, triggering a new process of deeper change in food buying and selling chains, in line with the needs imposed by contingency and social distancing. Faced with this sudden scenario, restaurants and bars had to reinvent themselves and food delivery became a matter of survival. Given this context, this work aimed to identify what are the main factors that affect the behavior of consumers of food delivery applications. To answer the research question, the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), meta-analysis and empirical analysis of the factors that impact consumer behavior were used. With the results from the SLR, this work identified 78 factors that impact behavior, but the results of the meta-analysis identified that 30 factors showed moderate or strong correlation with the stages of consumer behavior. With the results of the meta-analysis, this work was also able to propose four new theoretical models, in addition, through observation and a documental analysis, the present work brought an empirical view of what is being applied in the largest food delivery application in the Brazilian market. From an academic perspective, the RSL and the meta-analysis analyzed and ranked, within the relevant literature on food delivery services, the main factors and theories about consumer behavior. From the corporate point of view, this research presents an empirical diagnosis of the Brazilian context of food delivery. With real examples of the iFood application, market leader in Brazil, managers and analysts working in the food delivery sector or related sectors will be able to use the practical manual as a reference for future applications or launching new products.

The construction of tall buildings has emerged as a response to the scarcity of horizontal space in major urban centers. Wind action is a significant concern in the structural design of these buildings, given its generation of substantial displacements. Therefore, the choice of lateral bracing system directly influences the technical and economic feasibility of constructing such tall buildings. This study focuses on one such system, outriggers. These comprise walls or beams of high rigidity, positioned on specific floors, connecting the core to the exterior frame. The objective of this research is to analyze the influence of this system on the global stability of tall reinforced concrete buildings in Brazil. For this purpose, parameters influencing global stability are evaluated, namely: the basic wind speed V0 (30, 40, and 50 m/s); the characteristic concrete strength fck (30, 40, and 50 MPa); and the stiffness of beams simulating this system through variation in their sections (40, 60, and 80 cm). Using an initial structural configuration with a typical floor size of 15x25m and a height of 150m, 15 buildings were modeled in TQS® software full version LVP&S v23, provided by the company. The model was processed and resized to meet the instability parameter ᵞz ≤ 1.10. Following this assessment, the defined parameters were incorporated, and the results were compared in terms of the base moment of the core and the total horizontal displacement at the top of the building. In models where the outrigger system is present, three floors are braced by the system using beams of high rigidity positioned optimally based on the location of outriggers. It is concluded that the inclusion of the outrigger system significantly reduces horizontal displacements at the top of the structure and flexural moment stresses at the base of the rigid core. Quantitatively, this reduction exhibited rates between 6% and 8% for the direction of lesser rigidity and greater wind influence (90°), and between 1% and 3% for the 0° direction. Additionally, the system performed better for models with higher values of basic wind speed, wider outrigger beam sections, and intermediate fck of 40 MPa.

(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-08-23) Mizumukai, Juliane Kiyomi; Ferreira, Lydiane da Silva Fernandes Vaz; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4149557831158869; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8595-7850; Varoto, Vania Aparecida Gurian; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7449531039410521; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3763-5638; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3770267535120211; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6967-0956
The aim of the study was to analyze the perspective of regular elementary school students (aged 6 to 10) about the elderly and what they consider to be respectful actions the elderly and what they consider to be respectful actions. The methodology applied is based on a qualitative-quantitative study, of the exploratory, descriptive type and analysis of thematic content. The data was collected through the records of the Municipal Council for the Elderly (CMI) of São Carlos, a city in the interior of the state of São Paulo. The records analyzed correspond to feedback from activities carried out in public schools in the municipality because of the celebration of International Day of the Elderly. The materials returned to CMI are based on verifying students' concepts and perspectives about the elderly and respectful actions, as well as providing guidelines for new intergenerational activities. This CBT developed a literature review, which proved to be scarce (3 productions). It analyzed the activities returned to CMI, referring to municipal (10) and state (16) schools that received various virtual activities in 2020. Verification was carried out using materials and records from the CM, shared virtually, and using a field guide. Two municipal schools sent 15 returns of activities completed by children aged between 6 and 10. It was found that the children have close relationships with their grandparents, uncles, and great-grandparents between the ages of 70-79 (13) and 60-69 (10). The activities were completed using written language (2) and mixed language (7, drawings and writing). Regarding the indications of how to respect older people, the most frequently cited was represented as: ENSURE RESPECT AND DIGNITY x RIGHT TO LIFE (12) and ENSURE x RIGHT TO TRANSPORT (6). Some drawings showed elderly people using assistive technologies, such as walking sticks and wheelchairs, which may indicate that there are stereotypes that old age is linked to reduced functional capacity and frailty. Educational measures can disseminate public policy content and people's rights, as well as reducing negative attitudes about the ageing process and old age, changing the focus from old age to senility.

Organic urban agriculture contributes to the population’s food security. Plowing and harrowing are those techniques most used by urban family farmers to prepare soil for planting crops of interest. However, this type of management can interfere with the physical-chemical and biological characteristics of the soil, contributing to reduce the production. In this research, the use of AMF as a bioindicator in evaluating the impact of soil disturbance in urban gardens was proposed. AMF spores were captured in the field and extracted from four plots, two from fallow soils under low solar incidence (FSL) and high solar incidence (FSH) and two from disturbed soils under high solar incidence (DSH) and low solar incidence (DSL). They were evaluated for their AMF density and diversity, their infection potential (Mycorrhizal Colonization) in trap cultivation using Brachiaria decumbens, in addition to the Easily Extractable Glomalin-Related Soil Protein (EE-GRSP). The AMF species were variations in ecological form in terms of distribution of occurrence, through Frequency of Occurrence (FO) and Corrected Global Frequency Index (C-GFI), survival strategy (Competitor, Stress Tolerant and Resistant) and sporulation level through Relative Frequency (FR), in addition to alpha diversity (Specific Diversity, Margalef Index and Shannon-Wiener Index) and beta diversity (Sorensen Index). All parameters were subjected to five repetitions and the results were compared using ANOVA – Tukey 5%. The results demonstrated that the conventional management technique (disturbed) increased spore density in DSL and did not change in FSL, FSH and DSH. CM decreased in DSH and did not change in FSL, FSH and DSL and the EE-GRSP content was higher in disturbed soils (DSH and DSL). Alpha diversity (Shannon-Weaner Index) decreased in FSL and DSL and was maintained in FSH and DSH, but with different species. 39 species of AMF were found with 13 dominant, 13 very common, 10 common and 3 rare species. Finally, glomalin, spore density and AMF species diversity, were viable tools in study of the physical-chemical and microbiological quality of the soil after the impact of applying the tillage management technique in an urban organic garden.

Introduction: In relation to healthy ageing, auditory conditions are determinant for the intrinsic capacity which, in conjunction with the interactions of the individual with his environment, will determine his functional capacity. Age-Related Hearing Loss is considered one of the most prevalent problems of the elderly population and can improve in consequences such as restriction to participation with socio-emotional impacts once it compromises communication and consequently can impact on the quality of life of the elderly person, self-perception of health and the social support network. Purpose: Verify the association between restriction to auditory participation and self-perception of health, social support and quality of life in elderly people. Method: Study with a cross-sectional, observational, descriptive with a quantitative approach to the data. A database was used with information collected in 2017 and 2018 from the residencies, it was included in the study 235 people registered in the Family Health Strategy unities, inside of the healthcare system, with characteristics of social vulnerability, from a medium-sized municipality in Brazil. It was used information about the sociodemographic aspects (gender, age, years of schooling, financial income and marital status), health conditions (presence of self-reported comorbidities including hypertension, diabetes, cancer, history of previous stroke) and the results of questionnaires that investigates restriction to participation related to hearing loss (Hearing Handicap Inventory for the Elderly Screening Version - HHIE-S), Social Support (MOS - Social Support Scale), Subjective Health Assessment and the Quality of Life (Short-Form 6 dimensions - SF-6D). The groups with and without restriction to auditory participation were compared according to sociodemographic, health, social support and quality of life variables. A multivariate binary logistic regression method was used to assess the associations between independent variables and restriction to auditory participation. Results: The group with restriction participation is older (p<0.008), has a lower quality of life (p<0.041) and worse self-perception of health (p<0.002). The last variable proved to be the only predictor of a restriction to auditory participation (OR=0.85; 95% CI=0.72 - 0.99). Conclusion: The restriction to auditory participation is associated with worse self-perception of health. The study reveals the importance of assessing individuals' self-perception regarding biopsychosocial view, in addition to considering the environmental context for understanding the social and emotional impacts of hearing loss.

Educação Profissional e Tecnológica: análise dos regulamentos dos Núcleos de Apoio às Pessoas com Necessidades Educacionais Específicas dos Institutos Federais da Região Sudeste
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-08-23) Silva, Jussara Cristina Rodrigues da; Dainez, Débora; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4671868444231806; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1120808724335541
With the expansion of the Federal Network of Professional and Technological Education, the number of students enrolled increased and, consequently, the diversity of students within these training spaces. Due to the significant growth in the number of enrollments of students who are the target audience of Special Education – PAEE in Professional Education and with the requirement to comply with the current legislation on inclusion, the Federal Institutes, through the TEC NEP Program, implemented the Support Centers for People with Specific Educational Needs – NAPNEs with the objective of promoting actions related to admission, the permanence and success of PAEE students. In this context, the interest arose in carrying out the present research, which had as its general objective: to understand how the Inclusion Policy in the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education is configured, from the analysis of the regulations of the NAPNEs of the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology of the Southeast Region of Brazil. The specific objectives of the research were: to present the constituent elements of the NAPNEs of the Southeast Region; identify the common core of the proposition of the NAPPE regulations; reflect on the meanings that the common core of the NAPNEs regulations can assume in the Inclusion Policy of the Federal Institutes of the Southeast Region; to verify how the different discursive processes of the NAPNEs regulations are associated and how this expresses a Policy of Inclusion in Professional, Scientific and Technological Education. In order to verify how the inclusion policy is being appropriated and translated into the documents that guide its implementation in the contexts of the Federal Institutes of the Southeast Region of Brazil, we chose documentary research as a methodological procedure for the development of the research. The sources used were the regulations of the NAPNEs or equivalent sectors of the Federal Institutes of the Southeast Region of Brazil. For this study, two chapters were elaborated. The first deals with the bibliographic review on the theme of inclusion in the Federal Network of Professional and Technological Education, in which we rescue some historical elements of the process of construction of this Network in Brazil, followed by the survey of the main milestones of the process of implementation and implementation of the Inclusion Policy in the referred Network. And the second chapter refers to the presentation and discussion of the results of the research carried out with the regulations of the NAPNEs of the Southeast Region of Brazil. Incorporating elements of discourse analysis, the methodological path made it possible to identify that the common core, present in the proposition of the documents, is constituted by the concepts Education – Work – Disability, concepts that permeate the entire analytical discussion of the analyzed regulations and that, by establishing a relationship between them, express a contradictory Inclusion Policy in Professional and Technological Education. This policy is marked, on the one hand, by an education conceived as a driving force for the development of productive skills for capital, manifesting itself above all in the conception of success materialized in the insertion of PAEE students in the labor market. And on the other hand, it is marked by an education that establishes, as one of its fundamental principles, the development of human capacities, in the sense of the integral formation of these same students.

Statistical analyzes that involve recording times and the occurrence of one or more events of interest are known as survival or reliability analysis. When analyzing data sets of this nature, one of the objectives is to estimate the survival or reliability function of the sampling units (people, systems, components, etc.). Examples of times and events that generate such times are: times until washing machines stop working, times until death/recovery of patients presenting with a certain disease, time until children learn to write, etc. Among some situations that can occur in this type of study, we highlight two: (a) not all sampling units suffer the event of interest (censorship) and, (b) the event can occur for several reasons (competitive risks). In both cases, this information can be incorporated into statistical analysis. From records of complete times, censoring, types of cause and covariates, it is possible to adjust a model to the data, and also statistics or functions of interest. In this work the objective is to estimate the survival function of times in which a certain event occurs, considering competitive risks, under non-parametric approaches, by the Kaplan-Meier estimate and its modifications and, parametric, by the Cox model and the model proposed by Fine and Gray. Furthermore, show in which situations they are best used, as well as their advantages and disadvantages.
