In its development, the work presents a narrative that exposes the course format, the author's experience in the course and the author's reflections on each aspect of the course. The development begins with the author's entry into the university, exposing his life at that moment and the feelings that surrounded and guided him in choosing the institution. The text moves on to address the first cycle, from enrollment in the course and the discovery of its different methodology, progressing to an explanation of its functioning, divided into three major areas of activities: Problem-Situation, Simulation Station, Professional Practice and Practice Reflection. The reflection that permeates the first cycle involves feelings of anguish, concern, and incapacity. Moving on to the second cycle, there are changes in the pattern of activities, both in content and in the ramification of the basic structures of the curricular grid compared to the first cycle. With a clearer gain in knowledge, the reflection presents the counterpoint of previous anxieties with the recognition in the knowledge construction advance and introduces new anxieties about the continuity of the process, although already accompanied by expectations that involve the student's development and evolution. When addressing the final cycle, the internship, the text diversifies due to the intensity that the period presents. Reflections and feelings also diversify and correspond to each stage present in the internship, which are: Medical Clinic, Pediatrics, Specialized Medical Outpatient Clinics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, General Surgery and Family and Community Health. The conclusion of the work presents a reflective synthesis where the author exposes his impressions of the entire experiential process and concludes with his personal opinions about his personal development and the influence of the course on his personal and professional formation.Item type:Item, A importância das experiências acadêmicas durante a graduação em Medicina para a escolha da especialidade médica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-12) ;Rigo, Roseane ;Andreucci, Carla Betina ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8276149979667627 ;https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5590-108Xhttps://lattes.cnpq.br/9256002240751339The proposal of the final paper presented to the Department of Medicine at the Federal University of São Carlos is to be a reflection by the student on their medical education. This sector is in constant evolution due to the continuous realization of new projects. With the growing demand for sustainability in all sectors of society, there arises the need to harness materials that were previously simply discarded. This implies a more effective utilization of generated waste, also alleviating the pressure on environmental resources whose acquisition or use significantly impacts the environment. One strategy to achieve this goal is the development of new materials that make use of previously purposeless waste. Among these materials, composites stand out, formed by a matrix whose characteristics are enhanced through the combination with a reinforcing material. Among the options for reinforcing materials are plant fibers, which, on their own, present a wide variety, each with its distinct characteristics. Therefore, studies that seek to assess the specific behavior of each type of fiber as reinforcement, as well as the methodology used for this evaluation, are crucial for the development of alternative materials that meet current needs and provide a broader range of materials with distinct applications for the market. One of the methodologies employed to assess the incorporation of plant fibers in cementitious matrices is the pullout test. This test allows testing the effectiveness of the bond between the fiber and the matrix, as well as determining the critical length of the fiber, a crucial factor for evaluating the transmission of forces in the material when subjected to a force. In this context, the present study aimed to investigate the pullout test methodology through the testing of composite materials with cementitious matrices reinforced with green coconut fiber ( Cocos nucifera L. ).Item type:Item, UX Research practices related to Long-Term UX: a systematic literature review(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Martinelli, Suéllen Rodolfo ;Lopes, Larissa Albano ;Zaina, Luciana Aparecida Martinez ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9978120143458461https://lattes.cnpq.br/2800383969791582Item type:Item, A violência sexual infantil no judiciário: análise de uma amostra de sentenças judiciais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Araújo, Nathalia Helena de ;D'Affonseca, Sabrina Mazo ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0381029115416584https://lattes.cnpq.br/1913612822539105Child sexual violence is defined as any sexual act committed by one or more adults against children and adolescents, leading to sexual stimulation of the victim and/or aggressor. Although the Judiciary has an important role in protecting the victim and holding the aggressor accountable, several problems in this instance have hindered the proper processing of judicial proceedings, making them time-consuming and resulting in costly effects on victims. The present study aimed to analyze the characteristics of a sample of court sentences involving child sexual violence in the state of São Paulo. A total of 10 sentences were selected between 2018 and 2022. The main results showed that longer sentences are characterized by more intrusive abusive acts, a greater number of aggressors belonging to the family nucleus and a greater amount of evidence mentioned compared to faster sentences. Possible relationships between the aforementioned characteristics and the slowness of the cases are discussed, highlighting the impacts of Law 13.431/2017 as an influence on the speed and reduction of the revictimization of children and adolescents, as well as the influence of the judicial system on the protection of victims.Item type:Item, "Não temos tempo de temer a morte": uma etnografia da criatividade política de migrantes racializados em São Paulo durante a pandemia de Covid-19(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Branco-Pereira, Alexandre ;Machado, Igor José de Renó ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4705450652848752 ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7792596762903794https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3513-5728The hegemony of the vulnerability perspective in studies produced on migrants is well known. As a result of an ethnographic research carried out between 2020 and 2023, this work is interested in understanding the political responses that racialized migrants articulated in the face of the end of the world represented by the Covid-19 pandemic. I discuss, through the analysis of political mobilizations in health contexts during the pandemic, how the emic categories of universality and equity are tensioned - often taken as semantically close to privilege. Thus, health is a scarce right - the more people access it, the fewer rights there are to be accessed. The notion of universality - of the SUS, but also of human status - engenders a logic of flattening inequalities by suppressing differences, producing irreconcilable worlds. Such phenomena make up what I call forced forgetfulness mechanisms, which allocate uncomfortable political facts to the realm of hallucinations. Thus, what is real is defined by the indexation of power. It is in this context that migrant movements emerge, with the aim of making what is considered hallucinated real, grounding and guaranteeing the registration of their political demands before the State. This is a work of engaged anthropology that seeks to establish horizontal relationships with its interlocutors, acting not only in cold data prospecting, but seeking to build an anti-basement policy with them.Item type:Item, Um estudo longitudinal sobre processos pedagógicos para a musicalização de um aluno com autismo e deficiência intelectual(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Guizzo, Pedro Ivo Ximenes ;Elias, Nassim Chamel ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4216525883778695https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4197-623XTeacher education in the most varied areas of knowledge permeates special education and didactics towards the students of Special Education in various ways. The purpose of this research was to investigate and raise data on pedagogical practices of a musical education teacher for a student with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) associated with intellectual disability (DI). This research focused on a case study of pedagogical practices in a certain teacher-student relationship in the context of music classes that occurred in the mid-2000s. The collection of information was done through semi-structured interviews through online platforms of video conference. The participant in question answered questions related to his teaching experiences with some students and more focused on their contact with the student Julius (autistic and intellectual disabilities, resulting from a Bourneville-Pringle syndrome staff) who attended private classes during fence ten years old. After data collection, analyzes and reflections on pedagogical procedures were made, as well as the importance of vocational training for specialized educational care and how the service was done in the cut of this study. Through the reports of the interviewed teacher and surveys made by family members, it is pointed out that several behaviors were encouraged over the ten years of monitoring musicalization to the student in question. Among the results, it is noteworthy that the hearing stimulation of certain sound frequencies provided a neurological maturity tangent to the reception of sounds. Other dynamics brought the student a series of learning, such as lighting and turning off the lights, as well as singing and dance through music, which were later very important tools for the student's appropriation over language and communication, considering that singing, for Student led him to access new words, and dancing gave him greater mastery over his body language. Finally, the effectiveness of a musical practice will be analyzed in students with severe disabilities, both in the pedagogical and development of the child, and regarding the quality of life of family members and the child.Item type:Item, As relações entre criança e natureza: o brincar vivo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Silva, Beatriz Rodrigues da ;Santos, Maria Walburga dos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2954227254025696 ;https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9304-5800Camargo, Andréia Regina de OliveiraThe present thesis aims to understand and highlight experiences where play and nature contribute to the construction of children's knowledge through written works. This qualitative study focuses on building the State of Knowledge, utilizing bibliographic research to explore works produced on the subject between 2018 and 2023 in public universities in the state of São Paulo. Supported by a theoretical framework involving themes such as play, nature, and the teacher's role, an analysis was conducted on children's experiences with nature in early childhood education based on the selected works. Despite the scarcity of studies on this topic, it was possible to comprehend that free play in nature offers numerous experiences rich in discoveries and sensations for childhood. The importance of the teacher/adult's role was also evident, reflecting on their practices and seeking spaces and moments for children to play in nature.Item type:Item, Amor, dedicação e resiliência: a narrativa de uma mãe aluna de medicina(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Maida, Letícia Bassani ;Adler, Ubiratan Cardinalli ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7366046180927920 ;https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3236-8347Traslaviña, Guillermo Andrey ArizaThis undergraduate thesis addresses the exciting journey of a mother who decides to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor, facing numerous adversities and challenges along the way. The text describes a chronological sequence of experiences, events, and relevant perceptions related to the student's medical education, spanning the three teaching cycles of the undergraduate medical program at UFSCar, concurrently with motherhood and the responsibility of raising daughters. The text unfolds through a reflective narrative about the medical education process of a student who is also a mother, in chronological order, with a first-person discourse, reflecting personal experiences and sensations throughout the process. It is worth noting that the events narrated in this text are true and verifiable through emails, written evaluations, text messages, and medical certificates. They reflect my experience and how these events affected me physically and emotionally, as well as influencing my social relationships. I could write a text with hypocrisy, full of praise for active methodology and the Medicine course at the Federal University of São Carlos. However, I couldn't, even though the literature is rich in articles that maximize the advantages of active methodology and minimize the disadvantages, reducing them to simple non-adaptation of the student, without considering that the purpose of a course within a University is to extract the best from its students, focusing on the best possible education within the peculiarities of each individual. I have taken ownership of this space as a place of expression, as I felt silenced over these six years. Therefore, it is about my experience, independent of the opinions of fellow students and professors. It is not a text about a happy story or a story of overcoming; it is a text about the struggle of a woman who tirelessly seeks a happy ending but is aware that it is still far away. The world is still a hostile place for those who were born different and insist on thinking differently. It's fortunate that at least thinking continues to be free!Item type:Item, Minha experiência cursando medicina na UFSCar: uma narrativa crítico-reflexiva(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Silva, Ana Beatriz Lima e ;Nogueira-de-Almeida, Carlos Alberto ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7182958706054402https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1272-4404The UFSCar Medicine course requires graduating students to complete a Course Conclusion Paper (TCC), which will be prepared here in accordance with the guidelines of the Pedagogical Political Project (PPP) in the form of a critical-reflexive narrative about a student's experience, in this degree, reporting the subjectivities of this experience. Here I will develop in a chronological line, following the three cycles of medical training, each lasting two years.Item type:Item, Uma abordagem estatística para a análise dos resultados das eleições presidenciais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Olivares, Victor Eduardo Lachos ;Bazán Guzmán, Jorge Luis ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8040998023074358 ;https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3918-8795https://lattes.cnpq.br/5713322912782198Multiparty data has characteristics that make it compositional data such as a constant sum of components and a limited space known as simplex. Thus, the purpose of the work is to develop a methodology to analyze multi-party data from electoral elections considering their restricted nature. In this context, the proposed methodology consists of 8 steps: initially, we collect multi-party data and transform it into compositional data. Then, we apply the log-ratio transformation , removing the inherent constraints of compositional data. Next, we employ principal component analysis (PCA) to reduce dimensionality and identify the principal components that retain most of the variation in the data. These components are analyzed based on two important metrics: loadings and scores. Given that the scores have different variability in the components, they are transformed between values of zero and one. Subsequently, we propose the Beta regression model considering the scores as the response variable, and the human development indicators as the explanatory variables. The methodology is applied to multiparty data from the first round elections in Peru in 2021 and Brazil in 2022, allowing us to identify the main components and which covariates (health, education and income) are directly related to votes in different regions and states. Finally, considering that data from presidential elections of Peru 2021 with two response variables, we propose a bivariate regression model via copulas and analyze the dependence structure between these variables.Item type:Item, Productive Crop Field Detection(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Nascimento, Eduardo Garcia do ;Almeida, Jurandy ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4495269939725770 ;Almeida, Tiago Agostinho dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5368680512020633In precision agriculture, detecting productive crop fields is an essential practice that allows the farmer to evaluate operating performance separately and compare different seed varieties, pesticides, and fertilizers. However, manually identifying productive fields is often time-consuming, costly, and subjective. Previous studies explore different methods to detect crop fields using advanced machine learning algorithms to support the specialists’ decisions, but they often lack good quality labeled data. In this context, we propose a framework for productive crop field detection based on high-quality dataset generated by machine operation combined with Sentinel-2 images tracked over time. As far as we know, it is the first one to overcome the lack of labeled samples by using this combination of techniques. In sequence, we present three methods, based on state-of-the-art supervised and self-supervised methods, selected according to the dataset characteristics, to detect productive crop fields. Finally, we demonstrate high accuracy results in Positive Unlabeled learning, which perfectly fits the problem where we have high confidence in the positive samples. Finally, best performances have been found with Contrastive Learning, given its ability to augment data, allowing the model to be trained with a larger dataset considering the artificially created samples.Item type:Item, Medicina para além de “salvar vidas”: a formação de um estudante de medicina em uma narrativa crítico-reflexiva(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Saraiva, Thalia Silva ;Rocha, Sheyla Ribeiro ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4784568943530426 ;https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1926-4439https://lattes.cnpq.br/4984585660671148The present work is a critical-reflexive narrative about the training of a medical student. Graduating in medicine is a complex period, endowed with criteria and responsibilities that cause the student to face personal and interpersonal conflicts that generate anguish and suffering in the face of uncertainty about their ability to be a good doctor in the future. In the context of the pandemic, such feelings grew exponentially as medical internship came to a standstill. The present work aims to report the experience of a medical student before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic and how the course influenced his life, his profession and mental health.Item type:Item, Anjo de vanguarda: o catolicismo de Paulo Leminski(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-15) ;Simões, Eduardo Vagner Santos ;Alves-Bezerra, Wilson ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/1602719736498812https://lattes.cnpq.br/6173272612799925The thesis explores the Catholic thought in the works of Paulo Leminski, employing Edward Said's concept of Traveling Theory to argue for the transposition of Catholicism from its religious context to Leminski's intellectual production. Leminski's Catholicism is portrayed as a transmuted version, often an inverted Catholicism. Divided into four chapters, the research delves into different aspects of the author: biographer, novelist, essayist, and poet. In the first chapter, Leminski is examined as a biographer through the analysis of "Jesus a.C." (1984). Serving as a hermeneutic base for Leminski's Catholicism, this chapter explores the context of writing the biography during the strengthening of progressive Catholicism and counterculture. It discusses Leminski's portrayal of Jesus as a prophet and poet who challenges the major institutions of his time, offering utopian alternatives through his parables. The second chapter focuses on Leminski as a novelist, exploring "Agora é que são elas" (1984). The work, marked by a neobaroque aesthetic of profusion and polyphony, reflects on culture and the agonistic interplay between interdictions and transgressions. It thematizes true rites of return, in opposition to the merely operative rites of civilization, ultimately tensioning the realms of the sacred and the profane, as well as the concepts of providence and free will. The third chapter concentrates on Leminski's essayistic facet, analyzing essays such as "Alegria da senzala, tristeza das missões," where he draws parallels between enslaved Africans and Amerindians facing the symbolic violence of the colonizer; "Sem sexo, neca de criação," where he defends the idea of the "immigrant mystique of work," akin to Weber's concept of the "spirit of capitalism"; "Comunicando o incomunicável," discussing prayer in different religions; and "Corpo não mente," drawing parallels between Zen and Christianity. His essays reveal his ideas on spirituality and other religions. The fourth and final chapter explores Leminski as a poet, with emphasis on the posthumously published work "La vie en close" (1991). The research distinguishes between the poetry published from the early to mid-1980s and the posthumously published poems. It argues that "La vie en close" serves as a "testamentary work," where Leminski, employing a neobaroque aesthetic, thematizes and ritualizes his own death, including reminiscences of the monastery, facing the end with a certain eroticism. The research concludes that Leminski's Catholicism manifests in the belief in the demiurgic power of words to create utopias, questioning established values and subjecting them to life's scrutiny. It also presents a spirituality where daily acts, when internalized, awaken consciousness to the essence of life in all its violence and contradictions. This Leminskian Catholic expression proposes a new awareness capable of confronting life's violence in an erotic manner, celebrating it even in the face of death.Item type:Item, A violência sexual infantil no judiciário: análise de uma amostra de sentenças judiciais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-16) ;Araújo, Nathalia Helena de ;D'Affonseca, Sabrina Mazohttps://lattes.cnpq.br/0381029115416584Child sexual violence is defined as any sexual act committed by one or more adults against children and adolescents, leading to sexual stimulation of the victim and/or aggressor.
