listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Trans*, arte e identidade: reflexões acerca da criação artística independente(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Costa, Iago Marichi; Iasulaitis, Sylvia; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4226275371443693; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3526-1003The objective of this work is to carry out some reflections on the independent artistic creation of trans* people. To contextualize the use of this “identity” as an analytical framework, I carry out a brief bibliographical review on the creation of the transsexual category in medical discourse; I then counter this framework by pointing out some of the struggles mobilized by trans* people in Brazil. Furthermore, I report a performance by Guma Joana, (r)e_c0l3t4: C40S P4AR4D0XAL, illustrated by some ethnographic drawings. Finally, I read excerpts from interviews conducted by me and collected by other means, interweaving the personal and collective dimensions that artistic creation conveys. As a result, the creation Trans* art proved to be an interesting form of experimentation and construction of meanings between artists and their peers, a skill that interferes with the construction of common imaginaries, but also with the subject himself.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A mão que bate é a mesma que afaga: Jair Bolsonaro e a imprensa brasileira nas "lives de quinta"(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Becerra, Beatriz de Assis; Silva, Gleidylucy Oliveira da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1871892858720738; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5120902387123144The third wave of populism, led by far-right politicians, poses a challenge to democracy on various fronts. One such challenge involves attacking the press to undermine its credibility. A tactic employed in these attacks is weaponization, which entails the militarized use of the term "fake news" to delegitimize the very existence of the press as an expert system. This system has utilized the online environment for its propagation. Additionally, these attacks directly impact the democratic system, both in terms of pluralistic values and the structure of horizontal accountabilities. While these studies do not specifically focus on the Brazilian context, the literature presents President Bolsonaro as a part of this phenomenon. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze how President Jair Bolsonaro fits into the profile of an authoritarian populist, based on his confrontations with the press and the content of his "Thursday live" speeches in the years 2019 and 2020. Through a mixed content analysis, combining quantitative and qualitative methods using the IRAMUTEQ and MAXQDA software, the results reveal a negative association between the mainstream media and the spread of fake news. This confirms the strategy of weaponization in the battle for information credibility. On the other hand, the findings indicate a positive relationship between the president and the Jovem Pan broadcasting network.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Mandatos coletivos e promessas de campanha, como esse novo formato de organização representa seus eleitores: a experiência da Bancada Feminista do PSOL(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Oliveira, Kauany Tavares de; Diniz, Simone; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9726360676770459; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6646223244447051The number of Collective Candidacies has been increasing in the last elections and, even though this format is not new in Brazil, the increase of this type of candidacy indicates towards a new field in political studies yet to be explored. In 2019, data about collective candidacies was collected, the result of it was the document made by the organization “Rede de Ação Política pela Sustentabilidade” (RAPS), defines these candidacies as: “The Collective and Shared mandates are a way to exert the legislative mandate, in which the elected representative commits with sharing the power with a group of citizens.” This document highlights that the format of shared candidacy arises from a scenery of crises in representation. In this piece of work is debated whether Collective Mandates are more representative? Through the study of salience of one collective mandate: The “Bancada Feminista” elected for the legislature in São Paulo city. Materials and methods: The collected data about campaign promises was taken from the candidacy social media, the data about legislative activity was collected from the official site of São Paulo legislative council. Text analysis method was utilized to categorize the sentences and The Manifesto Research on Political Representation (MARPOR) was used as codebook. Expected results: It was expected to see an abundance of themes related to women’s rights. In the field of study about campaign promises, it’s a common pattern to see very few promises being fulfilled, this is expected in this search as well. Discussion: To fulfill the promises does not implicate in more representation, when electors choose a candidate, they do not force them to carry on with all their promises. Representation happens when candidate’ and electors’ interests converge, that’s why it’s important to keep the relation between both very close. By changing the format of representation, collective candidacies try to bring electors and representatives close together, and, with this, increase representation. This research is meant to observe the results of these changes and question the role Collective Mandates are playing in the special representation of minorities.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Racismo ambiental: "O que eu tenho a ver com isso?" diagnóstico do viés digital no caso Sol Nascente x Lago Sul através do Twitter(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Azevedo, Fabíola Maria da Costa; Silva, Gleidylucy Oliveira da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1871892858720738; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3423686680026486Environmental racism is one of the biggest concerns in the national territory today, and has been structured in a new conception that is already manifesting itself in the virtual environment. In this perspective, the theme of environmental racism carried out through the Web happens through network communication, where it is observed the way in which users connect, share information and construct meanings in this virtual environment that contributes to a more comprehensive view of contemporary communication. The present study aimed to analyze the way in which environmental racism is expressed in the virtual environment through Twitter in the case of Sol Nascente x Lago Sul through the post of Raphael Sebba. To do so, it was necessary to: a) identify which sets of posts (conversations) bring arguments related to the theme of environmental racism and which do not; and consequently, b) indicate which arguments and themes were found in the posts considered racist. A qualitative approach was used with content analysis on the social network Twitter. 43 conversations were analysed and 913 comments related to them. The collected data were submitted to data analysis using the MAXQDA software. The analysis of the data obtained found that of the 913 comments analyzed, 27.8% were considered racist – with an interconnection with the theme of environmental racism –. It is considered that the results obtained are useful for understanding the theme, which is still little understood by society, in addition to enabling the provocation for new research around the theme of environmental racism on the internet.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo das possibilidades e desafios para a inserção de uso misto na área envoltória de empreendimentos condominiais fechados: estudo de caso em Campo Grande (MS)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Perez, Bruno Reis; Silva, Sandra Regina Mota; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9973870842834947; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5147-6154; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2461680606622489Brazilian cities have always had, as one of their historical characteristics, spatial segregation coupled with social segregation. In this context, since the 1980s, a new pattern of segregation has been observed, based on condominium modules with access control, predominantly inhabited by a segment of the population with medium to high purchasing power. This occupation model profoundly alters the organization of cities in terms of social interaction and the circulation of different groups. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze the possibilities and challenges for integrating mixed-use in the surroundings of new condominium developments, conducting a critical analysis of the urban impacts resulting from this housing typology. It also aims to develop a proposal for the integration of mixed-use on the outer edges of a condominium module in an urban area in Campo Grande (MS), discussing the potential and challenges, as well as the effect on local urban life. This study is divided into two stages. The first involves conducting targeted studies to understand the urban and social effects that these "fortified enclaves" cause in their regions, as well as the relationship between road hierarchy and land use. The second part involves the development of a case study on a residential condominium project in the city of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, with the integration of a mixed-use strip on its edges interfacing with the city. The study analyzes the urbanistic effects that this will cause in its implementation region, in comparison with the more traditionally adopted model.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Proteínas: uma revisão e estudo de caso(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Daniel, Daiane; Urban, Roberta Cerasi; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7313670290572985In this course conclusion work, a comprehensive review was conducted on proteins, exploring their fundamental functions, and methodologies for identification and quantification. Proteins, indispensable biomolecules, are intricate structures composed of amino acids connected by peptide bonds, organized into polypeptides. While dietary intake is a crucial source for obtaining proteins, certain organisms may not provide essential proteins, and dietary intake alone may be insufficient to meet the body's requirements, necessitating supplementation. This study delves into the challenges associated with protein isolation and analysis, particularly focusing on methodologies for determining total protein concentration. Various UV-Vis spectrophotometric approaches, including biuret, Lowry, Bradford, and BCA methods, were examined, highlighting their applications in diverse environments such as blood plasma and nutrients. Notably, the Bradford method, utilizing Coomassie G-250, emerged as exceptional, demonstrating versatility in multiple media, including its successful application in a case study involving sports supplements. The evolution of mass spectrometry, coupled with techniques like electrospray ionization and MALDI, was explored, showcasing their pivotal role in advancing protein analysis. The study also underscores the significance of two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2D-PAGE) as a valuable tool in proteomic analyses. The research extends further by introducing a novel protocol that employs the Bradford colorimetric method and digital image acquisition via a cell phone camera to determine total soluble proteins in sports supplement samples. Utilizing the PhotoMetrix application for enhanced image processing, the method demonstrated a remarkable 15-fold improvement in the limit of quantification compared to spectrophotometer results. Recovery experiments yielded overwhelmingly positive results (82-112%), validated against the reference spectrophotometric method. The proposed method proves to be portable, sensitive, accurate, and precise, presenting a valuable tool for assessing the quality of sports supplements and ensuring food safety for consumers. The study also highlights the potential of the PhotoMetrix application in advancing (bio)analytical methods.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O turismo rural como alternativa de desenvolvimento econômico para o município de Bofete-SP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Martins, Danilo Machado Rodrigues; Porto, Aluísio Finazzi; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0238316762997917; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6363-4017; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0553513735698963; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2414-1505Once with an economy based on agriculture and cattle farming, since the middle of 20th century, the city of Bofete has been diversifying it. Thus, in this work we aim to analyze how computational techniques have been applied in the national and international literature of Computational Social Sciences, with a focus on Political Science and its objects.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Respirar utopias e as corporeidades: estudo sobre discursos cênicos de artistas negras na cidade de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Coelho, Daiana de Moura Bernardes; Mendonça, Viviane Melo de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4827331651090223; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1368-1883; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7687670449085771; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8548-7086Black women artists tell stories that are not found in textbooks. They evoke and connect memories through the sharing of experiences of the Black body. Artworks that hold fundamental importance for the creation of networks of ethical, aesthetic, sensitive, poetic, and political resistances, which critically contribute to the education and understanding of contemporary Brazilian society. The thesis is organized into three sections, named Utopias D'água (Water Utopias, Breathing, and Cenovivências). Notebooks that reflect the experience of an interdisciplinary research that dances at the interface between education and performing arts studies. The theoretical-methodological foundations are gender studies, Black and post-colonial feminist studies, with an intersectional approach. Viandança is the forge, the methodology I create to organize the choreographies of the process and dialogue with the works of Black artists (before, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the post-vaccine period). The creation of this methodology was necessary to analyze, breathe, and converse with artistic works perceived as seedlings of utopias at the crossroads of the São Paulo scene. Broadly speaking, in conjunction with the historical context, with the pulse of the city, and inspired by theories of intellectuals such as Conceição Evaristo, Beatriz Nascimento, and Lélia Gonzalez, I call these creations by Black women "cenovivências". The methodological procedures aimed at the enjoyment through the co-living experiences are: bibliographical review, records of encounters with artists, works, and territories in field notebooks, analysis of shows, and creation of geolocation maps (Google MyMaps). The production of these discourses in performing arts and the construction of subjectivities that 'contradict statistics' form counter-currents, advocated here as artivisms, a resurgence and updating of quilombos in the city of São Paulo. Believing in powerful relationships, connections, and alliances to dream of new Afro-futures, these Utopias D'água Notebooks I, II and III are part of an immense chorus of Afro-diasporic and Afro-pindoramic discourses spread throughout the world that come together like whale songs, through the body. Establishing communication patterns that keep our internal waters balanced. Speeches that come from the viscera. Insurgent cries. In Brazil, agriculture is a competitive field, being a very rich and diversified economic sector, as well as a source of food and job creation among Brazilians. For agriculture, the main raw material is the soil, which is essential for the development of crops, and therefore, it is vital to take care of this resource. One of the most commonly used techniques for soil assessment is to verify its mechanical resistance to penetration. This technique is preferred for the analysis process due to its quick verification and easy handling of the tool used: the penetrometer. In this work, through the mixed regression model, we compared the efficiency of different types of penetrometers and also analyzed characteristics and factors that may influence the mechanical resistance of soil to penetration using a set of real data from LAMAP, USP.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Reflexões sobre os processos de ensino-aprendizagem de português como língua estrangeira na República Cooperativista da Guiana: desafios e possibilidades(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Sousa, Rogério Pinto de; Höfling, Camila; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6808756591702378; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9666-0470; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5633762893183785; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1619-938XThis paper proposes reflections on the processes of teaching and learning Portuguese as a Foreign Language and an analysis of the use of photography through the social network Instagram as a pedagogical tool in the context of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, in the city of Lethem. This is a qualitative-interpretivist study, with the methodological proposal of a case study, in which ethnographic data collection techniques are used, involving a volunteer teacher-researcher, students and employees of the Government of Lethem as research participants. As for the theoretical framework, with regard to the teaching and learning of Portuguese as a Foreign Language, authors such as Almeida Filho (1989, 2007), Bardin (1977, 2016), Grimes (2006), García (2009), Piaget (1970), Pozo (1994), among others. This work focuses on the issue of student motivation in the teaching and learning of Portuguese as a foreign language in the Cooperative Republic of Guyana in the city of Lethem and the use of the social network Instagram as a pedagogical tool. The results of analysing the data collected suggest that the Instagram tool can be used as a source of motivation, interaction and a pedagogical tool in PLE classes.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desempenho ocupacional e nível de sobrecarga de mães de crianças no transtorno do espectro autista(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Silva, Letícia Vitória Rodrigues da; Figueiredo, Mirela de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3660487766535040; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0101-0115; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3193032401557623; https://orcid.org/0009-0006-5190-7771Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized as a neurodevelopmental disorder, marked by impairments in reciprocal social interaction skills, communication skills and the presence of stereotypical behaviors. Such characteristics have impacts beyond the individual with autism, as they can constitute stressful factors for family members and caregivers. Among family members, mothers have been widely identified as the main caregivers of children with ASD, as they assume high levels of responsibility in relation to the care provided, making them more vulnerable to overload. Furthermore, caring for a child with ASD can lead parents to a process of losing the characteristics of their own daily life, by taking over the child's daily life and prioritizing their needs, leading to ruptures, changes and even readjustments of their social lives. Objective: To investigate the occupational performance and level of overload of mothers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as the impact of Occupational Therapy interventions on family life over a period of 6 months of treatment. Methodology: Research conducted using a collective and explanatory case study method. The participants were mothers of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder assisted by the School Health Unit (USE) of the Federal University of São Carlos. To develop the study, the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure, the Zarit Overload Scale and the medical records of the institution chosen for data collection were used. Results: The study showed the presence of impairment in occupational performance and overload in the lives of all participants, whether in self-care, leisure or productive activities. After the six-month period delimited by the research, an improvement in overload levels, occupational performance and satisfaction was observed, as well as the inclusion of new activities in the mothers' daily lives. Discussion: By taking full care of their children's demands, mothers stop carrying out their own activities and occupations, developing compromises in their occupational performance and quality of life. And, with regard to the characteristics of their children, the main factors responsible for influencing maternal stress are related to communication difficulties, self-care and behavioral problems, such as disobedience, agitation and irritation. It is worth noting that the parental stress generated by ASD does not only depend on the disorder, but also on the family's access to information, treatments and support network. Thus, it is suggested that the inclusion of the children in this research in Occupational Therapy actions may have been characterized as one of the factors mitigating overload, due to the development of autonomy in Daily Life Activities and socialization, as well as the minimization of restrictive and repetitive behaviorslistelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desenvolvimento de árvores nativas em sistema agroflorestal concebido como método de restauração ecológica em área de Reserva Legal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Salada Junior, Ricardo da Silva; Penha, Alessandra dos Santos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9799774247477252; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9981710063047322Intensive and poorly planned human actions have greatly accelerated forest fragmentation and, therefore, the adaptation of alternative ecological restoration strategies has gained prominence, regarding compliance with the Brazilian environmental law. In this context, agroforestry systems (AFS) have emerged as an alternative, as they can enhance natural regeneration, accelerate the improvement of microbiological and physical-chemical conditions of soils, enable positive interactions, contributing to the rescue of numerous ecosystem attributes, and regional biodiversity increase. We aimed to analyze the growth of native tree species used in a AFS designed in 2017 as an ecological restoration strategy for part of the Legal Reserve of the Agricultural Sciences Center of the Federal University of São Carlos, Araras, SP, evaluating the development of native tree species. We hypothesized that the development of trees would vary between species, even considering that all of them were classified as pioneer species. The AFS has four contiguous plots of 60 m x 18 m, each plot has 120 seedlings of 10 tree species native to seasonal semideciduous forests, with a spacing of 2.0 m between plants, interspersed with coffee seedlings and 6.0 m line spacing. We carried out two samplings - December/2019 and June/2021 -, when we measured the height and diameter of the trees and the death tree percentage. Native species had different growth rates. We found that Guazuma ulmifolia Lam. (Malvaceae) showed greater average growth in height, and Ceiba speciosa (A. St.-Hil.) Ravenna (Malvaceae), the lowest growth and the highest death plant percentage. Considering knowledge in restoration ecology, we argue that results will contribute with technical information about the AFS potential as a restoration strategy and, in this way, small rural producers could generate enough income to cover at least part of the ecological restoration costs on their properties.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, "Eles não entenderam o que leram: trajetos de memória na interpretação de obras ficcionais no audiovisual(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Yamada, Raul Yudi Mendes; Carvalho, Pedro Henrique Varoni de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0019513394358070; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1492-4891; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4405597591367555; https://orcid.org/0009-0005-2773-3794This Monograph aims to analyze the assertion: "The people complaining didn"t read Sandman or didn"t understand what they read," made by Neil Gaiman during an interview with the Omelete website in response to racist and misogynistic remarks by some fans. In this monograph, we partially disagree with this statement, demonstrating that the memory of other viewed works and the collective memory acquired through social interaction allows for interpretations different from those intended by the authors and directors of the work, leading to statements like those uttered by these fans. Thus, to examine the effect of memory on the understanding of a work, we chose to analyze two audiovisual works: Starship Troopers (1997) and The Boys (2019). The theoretical foundation draws upon the studies of Collective Memory by Maurice Halbwachs (2002 [1925]; 1990 [1950]) and Discursive Memory by Jean-Jacques Courtine (2006; 2009). The work concludes by stating that there is a dynamic discourse directly influencing the expected understanding of the work by the author, and this discourse is related to the crisis of Western masculinity and the quest to reclaim "masculinist values"listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Terceirização e poder público: o caso das serventes merendeiras no município de São Carlos (SP)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Araújo, Lucas Henrique; Lima, Jacob Carlos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9244132532446607; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6475-9575The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of outsourcing on the hiring of Servants in the municipality of São Carlos (SP), through the creation of the position of Food Service. Using interviews and document analysis, we investigated the working conditions of food service workers, who are civil servants, and food service assistants, who are food service assistants, and outsourced employees. The analysis was also related to transformations in the world of work in the context of flexible accumulation and neoliberalism. The conclusion is that outsourcing in the hiring of catering servers in São Carlos, through the position of Catering Service Auxiliary results in precariousness, highlighting disparities in benefits, stability, and union organization. These results reinforce the urgency to reconsider outsourcing policies, emphasizing their negative impacts on working conditions and the quality of life of workers.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Chuva de sementes em sistema agroflorestal e fragmento de floresta estacional semidecídua: a sustentabilidade de paisagens agrícolas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Santos, Lucas de Souza dos; Penha, Alessandra dos Santos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9799774247477252; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4838736575965422Seed rain, as an ecological indicator of the self-maintenance processes of plant communities, and ecological flow in the landscape, plays an important role as one of the ways of evaluating the progress of ecological restoration. We aimed to characterize seed rain in a agroforestry system (AFS) implemented with the goal of restoring a Legal Reserve area and a a seasonal semideciduous forest fragment to propose evidence for the success of ecological restoration practices and understand how landscape dynamics relate to sustainability and land use. We measured the seed rain over two years, as well as producing an academic essay based on bibliographical research about sustainability in the context of ecological restoration. We conducted at the Agricultural Sciences Center, using 20 collectors, the collected seed rain was dried in an oven, organized into morphospecies, and identified to the lowest possible taxonomic level. We had a total of 25,149 samples, organized in 114 morphospecies that provided 17 identifications in the family category (10 genera and 22 species). We described differences in the absolute density over the two years for AFS (5,249 and 6,221, respectively), and the forest fragment (8,150 and 5,529, respectively). For relative density, 308.76 and 479.4 diaspores/m² in the first year, and in the second 325.24 and 365.94 diaspores/m². Thus, in the AFS seed rain, in both years, zoochorous tree species at the beginning of succession predominate, while in the forest fragment, anemochorous tree species at the beginning of succession. The proportion of autochthonous families was higher in both the areas in both years. The data explains how the diaspore community remains subordinated and conditioned to the ecological flows of a rural landscape predominantly focused on intensive and conventional production, however the similarity of the AFS seed rain in relation to the fragment indicates a progress of this restoration strategy. We highlighted the importance of describing the diaspore community, for monitoring, diagnosis and decision-making, for the conservation of native forest remnants and the success of restoration techniques.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise comparativa entre algoritmos de classificação de gênero musical baseados em diferentes representações visuais e transferência de aprendizado(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Silva, Micael Valterlânio da; Valejo, Alan Demétrius Baria; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9546164790189830Organizing and retrieving musical information automatically is a highly demanded activity. Labeling music with information that succinctly describes it has implications for these and other related tasks. One of the most widely used approaches to label musical recordings is through genre information. However, this task is quite challenging. In recent years, the literature has shown significant progress in this task by applying machine learning algorithms based on deep neural networks (DNN). In this scenario, the commonly adopted practice is to use time-frequency visual representations of audio as input for a DNN. Therefore, the aim of this work is to perform a comparative analysis between the impact of using various visual representations of music, such as Spectrogram, Mel-spectrogram, Chromagram, Tempogram, and Tonnetz, obtained from its audio, and transfer learning in genre classification through DNNs. This research will present the foundational knowledge and acquired results, as well as an analysis of the outcomes. This analysis aims to understand the processes that contributed to the transfer learning approach outperforming the use of various visual representations in achieving better and more consistent results.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Contribuições da legislação urbanística e edilícia na prevenção, controle e mitigação das inundações urbanas: o caso de cidades de porte médio da Bacia Tietê-Jacaré (UGRHI – 13)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Laura, Sérgio Andrés Apaza; Silva, Sandra Regina Mota; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9973870842834947; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5147-6154; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7332698271415170The increase in losses caused by floods in the state of São Paulo in recent years is worrying. Many recent cases report material damage and even human losses due to intense storms that cause floods in the bottom of urban valleys. In this sense, the objective of this work is to carry out an analysis of the applicable urban and building legislation for flood prevention, control and mitigation in medium-sized cities in the state of São Paulo (from 100,000 to 500,000 inhabitants). The cities that comprise the case study of this work are Araraquara, Bauru, Jaú, and São Carlos. These cities are located in the four municipalities, which have the same name and which, in the the area of the Tietê-Jacaré River Basin (UGRHI-13), have the largest population. In this context of urban and building legislation, this work researched the legal clauses linked to the subject, established in the Master Plans, in the Buildings Codes, and in the Land Use and Occupation Laws, in the mentioned municipalities. Based on this delimitation, an analysis was developed on two levels: the first one identified and systematized the legal provisions of each city, and the second one established a comparative analysis between the four cities, looking for similarities and specificities. In this way, it is intended that this investigation on urban legislation and its contributions to the prevention, control and mitigation of urban floods in the four cities that make up the case study, has contributed to future revisions of legislation applicable to monitoring, measures and procedures, as well as in future interventions.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Rotulação de sintoma de depressão utilizando aprendizado ativo e processamento de linguagem natural(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-01-31) Passador, Rafael Vinicius Polato; Paraboni, Ivandré; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4979536048261282; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7270-1477; Caseli, Helena de Medeiros; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6608582057810385; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3996-8599; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8275474576606344; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3539-0443The approach to caring for psychological disorders, especially depression and anxiety, is seen as one of the current major concerns in mental health. Social networks, such as Twitter, not only allow individuals to maintain contact and promote mutual support, but are also often the subject of research aiming to identify individuals with potential depressive profiles or to classify depressive posts. In this context, it is observed that most of the current Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems operate based on models whose success is closely linked to the quality and amount of specific training data available. However, acquiring substantial amounts of annotated data is generally a costly process, especially considering the arduous and complex nature of labeling for NLP activities. In this scenario, some approaches have been proposed in an attempt to mitigate the cost of generating quality training sets. Active Learning seeks to achieve high accuracy with a reduced number of annotated data, allowing a learning algorithm to suggest which observations the expert should label to be used in the training process. In this project, an initial investigation of active learning strategies using a model commitee in the automatic classification of a symptom of depression (sadness or depressive mood) in Twitter posts is carried out, using the SetembroBR corpus, achieving an F1 value up to 10 percentage points higher with the Consensus Entropy query compared to random sampling.
