listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A modelagem conceitual de publicações seriadas em ambiente Linked Data na perspectiva dos modelos IFLA LRM e PRESSoo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-04) Oliveira, Rhuan Henrique Alves de; Castro, Fabiano Ferreira de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7124931056289027; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8712-2654; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6616666162574086; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8348-0350The PRESSoo and IFLA Library Reference Model (IFLA LRM) models emerge in the rise of the digital environment context, where cataloging practice is increasingly reflected in the Semantic Web and Linked Data scenario. These models propose new approaches and solutions for describing and sharing serial publication data. Therefore, this research aims to investigate and present the modeling of serials using the PRESSoo and IFLA LRM models, starting from the contextualization of the description of these resources in a Linked Data environment. To this end, a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was carried out, seeking to identify how the models are being discussed in the scientific literature, presenting their approaches, using as reference the documents of the respective models published by the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA). The applied study sought to integrate the exhaustive and granular modeling of serial publications by PRESSoo, which constitutes a specific model within the scope of continuous resources, and IFLA LRM, which constitutes a general model with a high level of abstraction of the bibliographic universe, from the extension mechanisms of this model. It was identified that PRESSoo has a granular and exhaustive modeling of serial publications with classes and properties that cover the entire scope of descriptive elements of these resources, while IFLA LRM, as a model that treats the bibliographic universe in general guidelines , has a modeling with greater emphasis on the entity structure. It is concluded that both models provide a satisfactory and elementary conceptual structure for the description of serial publications in a Linked Data environment, as well as solutions to the complex problems of these resources and a complete shared understanding of this domain, thus constituting as solutions for mapping and interoperability of other vocabularies.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A modelagem conceitual de publicações seriadas em ambiente Linked Data na perspectiva dos modelos IFLA LRM e PRESSoo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-04) Oliveira, Rhuan Henrique Alves de; Castro, Fabiano Ferreira de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6616666162574086; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7124931056289027; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8348-0350; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8712-2654listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Influência do método de secagem nas características físico-químicas de hidróxidos duplos lamelares e sua utilização como material adsorvente(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-04) Silva Neto, Luiz Daniel da; Meili, Lucas; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3802018064427795; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0307-8204; Freire, José Teixeira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2270677706718167; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8412-6801; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9223608687066061; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7945-937XLayered Double Hydroxides (LDH) are natural or synthetic materials nanostructured in two dimensions that feature positively charged layers with interspersed anions to balance charge and structure. Being recognized as promising materials for various applications, a complete exploration of their possible attractive properties and their synthesis process is essential. However, drying, a necessary step in the process, is still little studied. This work aimed to evaluate the influence of the drying method on the physicochemical characteristics in the synthesis of MgAl–CO3/LDH and its use as an adsorbent material. LDH synthesis was carried out using the coprecipitation method, maintaining a Mg/Al ratio of 2:1, and dried in an oven, freeze dryer and atomizer. The oven drying experiments were carried out at temperatures of 60 °C, 70 °C, 80 °C and 90 °C. For freeze-drying, the samples were frozen at a temperature of -50 °C and dried at temperatures of 30 °C, 40 °C, and 50 °C. The experiments for spray drying evaluated the drying temperature and concentration of the feed paste, in addition to discussing a statistical approach to obtain the volumetric heat transfer coefficient through an experimental design. The results obtained for drying kinetics and rate, effective diffusivity and Biot number indicate that external conditions control LDH drying. MgAl-CO3/LDH microspheres were obtained by atomization in all conditions studied, presenting a smooth surface and no holes. XRD results showed that changes in the drying process produced LDHs with variation in basal spacing, lattice parameter c and average crystallite size. The FTIR analysis presented the three characteristic types of chemical bonds in LDH, identifying the functional groups and the intercalated anion. The SEM showed different morphologies for the HDL obtained, with the oven-dried HDLs presenting distinct, defined and angled shapes of varying sizes, the freeze-dried ones presenting a rough and inhomogeneous surface, and the atomized ones in a spherical format, showing a difference in the size of the microspheres with the drying parameter. Preliminary adsorption tests were carried out, and LDH efficiently removed some pollutants. Given the results obtained, the materials produced showed physical-chemical and structural differences with the variation in the drying stage, directly influencing the adsorption process.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Pagamentos por serviços ecossistêmicos visando à manutenção dos recursos hídricos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-04) Rigonato, Mariana Beraldi; Mello, Kaline de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1974531968891537; Valente, Roberta Averna; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1582627535733911; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1702882164696798Changes in land use-land cover by human activities affect hydrological processes and the supply of water ecosystem services. Forests are positively associated with water quality and Brazilian legislation through the Native Vegetation Protection Law (NVPL) (Law no . 12.651/2012) established command and control instruments, such as Permanent Preservation Areas (PPA) and Legal Reserve (LR) to avoid deforestation. However, the areas established by the NVPL are insufficient to avoid diffuse pollution and the deterioration of water bodies. In this context, Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES), an economic incentive instrument, can be an alternative tool for protecting water resources. Therefore, our main objective is to understand how PES programs can be an instrument to enhance the supply of water environmental services in agricultural watersheds. The study was developed in the Sarapuí river basin, SP, using 2019 orbital images from the Sentinel-2ª satellite, with a spatial resolution of 10m, to identify soil use and cover. We carried out water collections every two months in 6 watersheds during 2022 and compared the water quality parameters with collections in 2013/14. We use statistical tests to identify the relationship between land use-land cover with parameters at the scale of the watersheds and PPAs and changes in land use-land cover. We compared the protection of priority areas for conservation to maintain water resources with areas legally protected by the LPVN. In addition to the legal protection scenario (30m PPA), a 100m PPA scenario was simulated to compare the protection of priority areas by the legal scenario and a more conservative scenario. Finally, we used data available from the “Biota-Fapesp Florestal Code” project to identify the deficit of native vegetation on rural properties and also to characterize properties according to size. We identified that all anthropogenic uses in watersheds negatively impact water quality (pasture, agriculture, and urban) and that forest cover is the most positively associated with water quality. Most of the variation in water quality was explained at the watershed scale, which emphasizes the importance of adopting conservation strategies in the watershed as a whole and not only in PPAs. Furthermore, almost 70% of the highest priority areas for PES are outside the limits of PPAs, and there are few deficits in LR and PPAs, which demonstrates that there are no additional conservation incentives on the part of the NPVL. A 100m PPA would increase the protection of these areas by 150%. Therefore, PPAs can be an instrument to finance the conservation and forest restoration of priority areas, especially those not included in the LPVN, to expand the adoption of better agricultural practices and basic sanitation to minimize the impacts of anthropogenic uses on water quality.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, TiNbCr multi-principal element alloy degradation behavior in harsh environments(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-04) Dainezi, Isabela; Rovere, Carlos Alberto Della; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8141224513975606; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1534-0561; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7267531467047267; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5937-2859The new properties exhibited by multi-principal element (MPE) alloys demonstrate promising results that have relevance across various applications, particularly in strategic industries. A challenging aspect in the field of materials for harsh service environments involves designing alloys that are resistant to oxidation and sulfidation at high temperatures, especially those composed of refractory elements. While oxygen is abundant in the atmosphere, sulfur stands out as one of the most common corrosive contaminants in high-temperature industrial settings, including fuel and feedstocks. The primary objective of this study was to develop and characterize the microstructure, as well as investigate the oxidation and sulfidation behavior of the TiNbCr MPE alloy in both as-cast and hot-isostatically pressed (HIPed) conditions in air, oxygen, and a reducing H2S and H2 gas mixture at temperatures between 600 and 1100°C, with exposures up to 100 hours. The oxidation and sulfidation behavior of the TiNbCr MPE alloy was compared with that of the commercial Haynes 188. The results indicate that the MPE alloy exhibits significantly superior sulfidation resistance compared to the Haynes 188, exhibiting a parabolic behavior with slow kinetics attributed to the formation of a NbS2 inner layer facilitated by the addition of Cr. Notably, no formation of liquid products occurred, as observed in the case of Haynes 188. However, the oxidation behavior is linear, characterized by the formation of a non-protective scale, characterized as a stratified porous layer. Furthermore, in oxidation tests, it is observed a drop in the kinetics with an increasing at temperature-testing due to the formation of Cr2O3 layers.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, História da ciência no ensino de física: uma proposta de sequência de ensino investigativo e seu desdobramento no contexto do currículo paulista(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-03-04) Oliveira, Nathália Andrade Candido de; Furlan, Elaine Gomes Matheus; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3179865576965852; Carvalho Neto, João Teles de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8622059450756991; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8145075361246990The central theme of this research is the study of the History of Science in the Teaching of Physics, specifically focusing on optics. From this perspective, we discuss and analyze the curriculum guidelines of the state of São Paulo, aiming to observe their implications for teaching. Consequently, the main objective of the dissertation is to study the History of Science in Physics Education, and as a result, it proposes an Investigative Teaching Sequence (ITS) for the topic of optics. This ITS aims to highlight its developments in relation to the São Paulo Curriculum guidelines, as well as to enhance understanding of aspects related to the Nature of Science. This qualitative research primarily analyzes the Investigative Teaching Sequence in two aspects: its feasibility within the São Paulo Curriculum and the assumptions and conceptual understanding concerning the Nature of Science. Among the findings, we can highlight that the proposed ITS aligns well with the Skills, Competencies, and knowledge objects stated by the São Paulo Curriculum. Furthermore, the ITS adopts a didactic approach that focuses on investigative teaching and develops the History of Science for the Teaching of Optics both coherently and thoroughly. These aspects were identified as gaps in the existing literature and in the São Paulo Curriculum itself. It is important to note that the curriculum, as it is currently structured, tends to diminish the disciplinary specificity and reduce the class time allocated to the physics curriculum component. This could result in less autonomous teaching and restrict students' access to certain content. Moreover, the developed ITS aligns with a proper understanding of the aspects related to the Nature of Science, aiming to minimize distorted views on the subject. In conclusion, the research seeks to contribute to the teaching profession, particularly for professionals working within the São Paulo State Department of Education.
