This study addresses the issue of teacher training concerning the preparation to deal with the diversity of students who have different special educational needs and learning styles, particularly in the teaching of mathematics in the early years of elementary education. It discusses some of the main laws aimed at guaranteeing the rights of these students, covering both initial and continuing education, as both require a constant commitment to the professional development of teachers so that they can truly meet the demands of an inclusive classroom. The objective was to analyze the contributions of the training offered on the PerForme platform, a virtual environment for continuing education developed by the municipal network of Limeira-SP, aimed at supporting teachers in the teaching and learning of curriculum content. For this purpose, we identified which training programs related to mathematics and special education were most accessed, how many participants completed each stage, and how many effectively completed these trainings, creating tables based on the information obtained. Following this, we sent a questionnaire to the teachers and conducted in-person interviews with 8 participants. The theoretical framework of this study is based on authors with a critical approach, opting for both quantitative and qualitative treatment, as we understand that the numbers extracted from the PerForme platform cannot be adequately interpreted without considering their qualitative dimension, which encompasses educational policies, the complexity of teacher training, and the related historical context. Additionally, we recognize the dialectics of social relations that permeate this scenario, thus adopting an analysis grounded in Historical-Dialectical Materialism, which emphasizes the dynamic, contradictory, and historical nature of the phenomena studied. From the analysis and reflection on the collected data, we found that, despite the availability of training and high demand for certain content and deficiencies, teachers are unable to complete them due to the extensive workload and day-to-day demands. It was identified that when PerForme training sessions are completed, they are important and assist teachers in the classroom. It was also possible to detect a communication gap between the Municipal Department of Education and schools regarding the dissemination of the training offered by the platform, as well as the procedures for participation and the relevance of the certificates. The results indicate that it is necessary to promote public policies for teacher wellbeing, thus overcoming the institutional and political structures that perpetuate educational inequalities, promoting a more equitable and democratic education in teacher training.

Ethnozoology focuses on elucidating the human-wildlife relationship, perceptions and human knowledge acquired about Earth's faunal. Ethnozoological studies on mammals in Brazil are relatively scarce and mainly address inventories, hunting and other uses, leaving aside aspects of human perception of this faunal group. The Guareí River sub-basin, located in the southwest of the state of São Paulo, has characteristics that value the recovery of local ethnozoological knowledge, with rural communities amid relatively preserved natural environments and rich fauna. The present study investigated the knowledge and perceptions of the rural population about the diversity of mammals in this region. For this, semi-structured interviews were carried out, between April and June 2023, with 30 residents (10 women and 20 men) from the rural neighborhoods of Angatuba: Arealzinho, Modestos and Leites. Of the 35 mammal species with possible occurrence in the region, only the red-headed howler monkey (Alouatta guariba clamitans) was not mentioned by any of the interviewees as having been seen in the study area. The target audience carries very peculiar customs and traditions in relation to coexistence with mammals in the region. Habits such as hunting and consuming the meat of these animals are still alive in people's customs or memories, in addition to the use of meat and other parts of animals for medicinal and/or sympathetic purposes. About residents' perceptions regarding mammals, a strong interaction between them was noticed. Many revealed that they believe that animals can attack, but only when they are threatened. Some believe that animals can transmit diseases to both humans and domestic animals, in addition to bringing economic losses to the community. Finally, the interviewees showed a strong environmental awareness, realizing the importance of fauna and pointing out the potential causes of animal population decline, such as deforestation, hunting and the introduction of invasive species. The present study generated a first overview of rural communities in the Guareí River sub-basin in relation to their perceptions regarding the population dynamics of mammals in the region over time and the identification of behaviors that can be shaped with a view to conserving the species.

The work aimed to, through analytical research grounded in the Literature Review (LR) and Content Analysis (CA), establish elements that enable the expansion and development of the maker culture, aligned with the Science, Technology, and Society (STS) movement. These elements serve as guidelines for new research in the teaching of Natural Sciences in Basic Education. The study considered both the conception of the maker culture and the utilization of Digital Fabrication Laboratories (Fab Labs) and makerspaces (maker rooms) within the Municipal Department of Education in Araras. Initially, data were outlined through the LR, parameterized for the selection and systemic analysis of publications in the field. Subsequently, data obtained from interviews and questionnaires with Natural Sciences teachers from the municipal education network in Araras were analyzed from the perspective of Content Analysis (CA). The goal was to identify and analyze research that contributes to the construction of robust elements for teaching the discipline. After collecting, analyzing, and discussing the data, a gap in understanding of the topic among the discipline’s educators was observed, prompting a reevaluation of expected outcomes and the proposal of new actions.

Context: The term “Smart City” has become more recurrent in recent years to qualify cities that, using technology, promote intelligent, strategic, and participatory management. From this perspective, the internet emerges as a crucial tool in the integration between the citizen, the city, and the public authorities as it serves as a viable means for data flow and democratic access to information. Justification: The complexity of the “Smart City” concept, the fact that the title of “smart city” is self-declared, and, moreover, the socioeconomic and spatial segregation of citizens necessitate a critical analysis of the services provided to the population to justify such a title. Objective: In this sense, the work aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the public service of free internet access provided by cities considered Smart Cities in the state of São Paulo, looking at connectivity as a means of accessing information. Method: Three municipalities from three different mesoregions of São Paulo were analyzed regarding the spatial distribution of internet access points. Data related to connection quality were collected in the field using monitoring software executed on a notebook and a smartphone. The multiple case study method and qualitative analysis of obtained data were applied. Results: The results enabled a comparison between access points and municipalities, which highlighted the inefficient distribution of internet access points and, in some situations, the total unavailability of the service to residents. The discussion points to the fragility of the technological infrastructure aimed at information and communication in Brazilian municipalities, which disadvantages more vulnerable regions of the cities and weakens the concept of smart cities.

This work addresses the barriers that hinder the dissemination of biogas in Brazil, focusing on identifying the main difficulties faced in the development of the Brazilian Biogas Innovation Technological System (STIBB). Through a bibliographical review, barriers were identified such as the lack of specific regulation for biogas as a renewable source, the lack of specialized financing programs, uncertainty about the destination of process residues, challenges in integration with the grid electricity and public natural gas network, the high implementation costs, the shortage of qualified professionals and the significant operational costs. Overcoming institutional, economic, political and information barriers is crucial to boost biogas production in Brazil, taking advantage of the potential of available organic waste and contributing to a cleaner, more diverse and sustainable energy matrix. The importance of continuity and consistency of public policies is highlighted to create an environment conducive to the growth and sustainability of the biogas sector. It is essential that there is an alignment between government actions and public-private partnerships, aiming to promote the development of the Biogas Innovation Technological System (STIBB) and guarantee the long-term viability of this renewable energy source.

Hymenopteran venoms contain a complex mixture of potent bioactive substances, which have potential biotechnological applications. Ant venoms are composed of formic acid, alkaloids, biogenic amines, enzymes, hydrocarbons, peptides, polypeptides and proteins. These components have antifungal, antiparasitic, antimicrobial, antiviral, phospholipase, cytolytic and neurotoxic properties. The venom of the species Odontomachus chelifer, a carnivorous ant, was investigated in this study in an novel way. O. chelifer is a carnivorous, nocturnal, large ant with an anatomical body characteristic of its species, featuring a robust mandible. Its sting causes acute and intense pain, prolonged itching and burning. In this study, we investigated, using in silico techniques, the peptides that make up a supposed antimicrobial arsenal from the venom gland of the neotropical ant Odontomachus chelifer. Based on transcripts from the body and venom gland of this insect, it was possible to determine the secretome of the gland, which contained around 1,022 peptides with supposed signaling peptides. Most of these peptides (75.5%) were unknown and did not correspond to any reference database, motivating us to extract functional information using techniques based on automated data analysis. We used several complementary methodologies such as transcriptomic data to investigate the existence of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) in the venom gland of O. chelifer, finding 112 non-redundant candidates. The PAMs were submitted to online bioinformatics tools (AI4AMP, AMPlify, AMP Scanner v2, amPEPpy, Macrel v.1.2.0, UNIPROT version 2022_05, CPAMR3, CAMPSign, Blastp) and the NCBI database. The candidate AMPs were predicted to be more globular and hemolytic than the remaining peptides in the secretome. There is evidence of transcription for 97% of the candidate AMPs in the same genus of ants, with one of them also verified as translated, thus supporting our findings. Most of these sequences with antimicrobial potential (94.8%) corresponded to transcripts from the ant's body, indicating their role not only as venom toxins.

This research focus on studying catholic blessing practices used in the municipality of Itaju, within the Jaú region of São Paulo state, Brazil. Specifically, it examined the procedures conducted to heal or protect the livestock animals, primarily cattle and pigs. The investigation relied both on pertinent literature analysis and field research with benedictors, livestock breeders and people with varying beliefs in the blessing practices. The aim was to investigate the blessing practices as a technique used in animal husbandry and understand its functioning in daily rural life of animal breeders. The practice of benediction involves learning through both gift and faith of all participants. In addition, animal breeders present it as a facilitator of rural work, integrating it as an active component in daily life with livestock. When considering benedictions, it became necessary to explore the consequences of this gift that some people have. This includes the expectation that benedictors ideally refrain from charging for their services and may use them exclusively for beneficial purposes. Additionally, since animals and others resources on farms are considered divine gifts, humans are authorized to enjoy these resources with a certain authority. Analyses of whom benedictions oppose and whom they aim to protect have revealed some distinctions between types of creatures, as “bicho” and “animal”: although both are creations of God, the “animal” creatures have the unique status of being created twice, by God and by humans, as livestock. In such cases, they are the most protected through benediction against snakes and “bicho” creatures, often perceived as pests. Therefore, the benediction works as a technique to protect livestock against certain animals and represent a facilitation in the work on rural properties that encompasses elements of catholic religiosity.

Araucaria angustifolia, native and with ecological and economic value, is listed as critically endangered. This species has an intrinsic symbiotic relationship with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), microorganisms responsible for the acquisition of essential nutrients and tolerance to abiotic stresses, however, the presence or absence of these AMF can be influenced by environmental variables of the local landscape. The objective of this study was to verify the behavior of the community structure of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in A. angustifolia forests with different landscape characteristics using Bayesian modeling. AMF abundance was verified by counting spores, richness by morphological identification’ spores located in the rhizosphere and litter and analysis carried out by Bayesian inference and Monte Carlo simulation via Markov chains (MCMC). Richness reached the plateau of the species accumulation curve and changed with the predictive variables evaluated. Distance from the edge, soil phosphorus and herbaceous stratum cover were negatively correlated with soil and litter richness, while total vegetation cover and litter content were positively related to richness. Some taxa had variable behavior in relation to the predictive variables and Acaulospora mellea was more related to degraded environments. These findings suggest that local environmental variables influenced the assessed AMF diversity parameters

This study investigates the perceptions of faculty members in a Graduate Program, aiming to analyze faculty perception regarding their work in graduate studies, especially concerning the scientific guidance of students, as well as to discuss possible influences of evaluation criteria established by CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) in this context. Faculty work encompasses cross-cutting demands of affective, social, political, cultural, and economic nature. It is an activity in which professional experience and human interaction stand out in its execution. In this context, one of the aspects of faculty work is academic research guidance, which in turn encompasses dimensions that confer a high degree of complexity and supports scientific production with the participation of students and graduates in graduate programs. To deepen the understanding of the subject, a case study was conducted based on theoretical frameworks of Activity Ergonomics. This is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach, focused on understanding aspects of human behavior and their meanings related to the perception, experience, and opinion of the guiding subjects themselves. Data collection involved document analysis and the application of questionnaires and interviews. The data obtained through document analysis and the questionnaire were exploratory, providing an initial and comprehensive view of the topics covered. Interviews allowed for a more detailed and in-depth exploration of participants' perceptions, experiences, and viewpoints. Thematic content analysis approach was employed for the analysis of interviews, leading to the emergence of three themes encompassing the categories of research findings: perceptions about faculty work in graduate studies, difficulties faced, and strategies used in this work context. The findings of this study indicated that prior teaching experience as a mentee is the main element guiding mentoring work. The tasks prescribed in the context of work are broad and unfold into various activities, often resulting in overload. Guidance, for example, involves the development of research projects, seeking financial resources, and attention to psycho-emotional aspects, among other underlying responsibilities. Despite the challenges, it is a rewarding role due to the opportunity to positively influence the formation of future professionals in the field of knowledge. In this context, improving students' autonomy and commitment is seen as a promising opportunity to reduce situations of strain and overload.

Science advances with discoveries that allow man to extend his lifespan and, in this sense, issues of life and death are frequently under discussion, including research related to diseases, in some cases contemplating chronic diseases, which reflect a primordial human need. , an understanding of the disease and its impacts on society. Receiving a diagnosis of an Inflammatory Bowel Disease is complex. But after all, how is it possible to lead a “normal” life, exercising my old roles in society, before the diagnosis? Did this whirlwind of emotions, fears and anxieties happen to all patients? How and in which space could I be heard without prejudice and judgment about my new life? Facebook has been a platform for people residing on the network that allows for the existence of a large number of communities designed to discuss issues related to health, making it necessary to understand how they work and how the information obtained is used. Thus, the main contribution of this study was to present the basic characteristics of support groups for patients with Crohn's Disease, focusing on users and their posts. An exploratory research was carried out focused on identifying discussion groups on Facebook regarding Crohn's Disease. As they are closed communities, two groups were selected, one consisting of more than 2,700 average members by a doctor specializing in inflammatory bowel diseases and the other consisting of a high number of members, of more than 14,600, therefore, the choice was made. Based on the criteria of visibility and empirical research. Data collection corresponded to the period from December 2022 to March 2023. Discourse analysis of posts and comments from the two secret groups was used as a data collection instrument. This research includes several themes related to patients' use of Facebook that can support self-management of the disease. In both groups, the most discussed topics in the posts were medications, symptoms and exams. However, the most relevant posts and comments in the groups differ significantly, demonstrating the presence and relevance of emotional work and the “rules of feelings”.

This work presents a study on the dynamics of the Rock-Paper-Scissors (RPS) model, with particular emphasis on the influence of variations of the control parameters on the emergence and dissipation of spatial patterns as the system approaches a critical value. We observed that the model exhibits a continuous phase transition from the symmetric to the non-symmetric phase. We used the theoretical framework of critical phenomena as an analytical tool to explore the system stability in the vicinity of the critical point, allowing the calculation of the critical exponents. This research is important for a better understanding of the intricate behaviors and patterns observed in this type of system, and contributes significantly to the general field of complex systems research. Furthermore, this work established a link between the theory of critical phenomena and the dynamics of the RPS model, focusing on the emergence of critical behavior and the conditions that led to criticality and the characterization of the universality class. In summary, although it has been possible to obtain the critical exponents of the Rock-Paper-Scissors (RPS) model, the specific identification of its universality class remains unclear. This limitation results from the priority given in this thesis to the development of advanced methods capable of extracting significant information from the critical behavior of systems not directly related to thermodynamics. Nevertheless, obtaining the critical exponents is already an interesting achievement that emphasizes the unexplored potential of the RPS model. This model presents itself as a promising framework to address more complex questions in physics and biology, suggesting a vast field of possibilities for future investigations and applications.

The 2019 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has had devastating consequences worldwide. To limit its spread, several approaches based on social distancing were adopted by governments and industries, which affected companies and their supply chains. The COVID-19 outbreak has entailed human, technological, and managerial constraints for manufacturing companies due to scarce resources or supply chain disruptions. This thesis aims to investigate the role of LM and Industry 4.0 during major breakdowns and present the legacy of COVID-19 on operations management. To achieve this goal a survey, systematic literature review (SLR), and semi-structured interviews with industry practitioners was carried out. In empirical research, we investigate the role of lean manufacturing (LM) and Industry 4.0 to improve the company’s response and resilience in times of unprecedented crisis. We use structural equation modeling with partial least squares estimation (PLS-SEM) to analyze the data collected. Our findings show that companies’ operational responses to COVID-19 can enable manufacturers to mitigate the loss of performance; operational performance can be enhanced by developing Industry 4.0 smart capabilities and LM practices. We demonstrate that Industry 4.0 initiatives support manufacturing companies’ flexibility, agility, and responsiveness in COVID-19 context. Besides, we discuss the emerging themes during the pandemic while presenting a proposition for future research. This study can help managers achieve performance stability during disruptive times, such as the COVID-19 crisis, using Industry 4.0 or LM to make their companies responsive and resilient.

The high generation of agro-industrial waste, such as Sugarcane Bagasse Ash Sand (SBAS), has aroused notable interest in civil construction, mainly in the search for eco-efficient solutions that can mitigate problems associated with the excessive exploitation of natural resources, as sand. However, due to the refinement of the microstructure of cementitious composites provided by SBAS, it is important to evaluate the shrinkage behavior of these matrices, since this process tends to be more pronounced in denser cementitious matrices. Thus, this study evaluated plastic, autogenous, and drying shrinkage, as well as the physical-mechanical properties of mortars containing 30% SBAS replacing fine aggregate with three types of Superabsorbent Polymers (SAPs), materials explored as agents of internal curing, and two types of cement (CP V ARI and CP III). The most significant results in the presence of only SBAS, without polymers, were the reduction of 18.10% (CP V ARI) and 18.48% (CP III) of autogenous shrinkage. The SAP that promoted the greatest reduction in the average crack thickness indicated a decrease of 81.92% and 39.88%, with the CP V ARI and CP III cement, respectively, in the plastic shrinkage test. Additionally, the effectiveness of SAPs as internal curing agents was observed, especially in the presence of CP III cement, reducing autogenous shrinkage by up to 119.19%. About drying shrinkage, only the SAP with the lowest absorption capacity indicated a significant reduction (24.78%), with CP III cement. No negative influence of SAPs was detected in the flexural strength test. However, SAP with intermediate absorption capacity provided a reduction of 19% (CP V ARI) and 28.55% (CP III) in compressive strength. Therefore, the use of SBAS in with SAPs can bring considerable benefits to mortars, especially in the reduction of cracks arising, mainly, from plastic and autogenous shrinkage.

The planet is on the brink of environmental collapse. To reverse this condition and postpone the end of the world (Krenak, 2022b), it is urgent to change the way we relate to nature. This research, with a qualitative approach, has as main objective to establish the relationships between childhood and nature based on narratives from early childhood education teachers, constructed from the exchange of Pedagogical Letters (Freitas, 2021). We sought to answer the following question: Are there spaces/possibilities in the practices of early childhood education teachers for true experiences with nature, for the right to freedom and joy? The answer was constructed from an investigation that used different sources to compose the data: 1) analysis of national documents that govern early childhood education; 2) state of knowledge of academic-scientific productions on the topic of early childhood education and nature between the years 2010 and 2022 and 3) appreciation of narratives produced during the year 2023 by teachers working in the first stage of basic education, through letters. It was noted the absence of public policies and training – initial and continuing – on the subject, as well as a still incipient scientific production and the existence of individualized practices of certain institutions and/or teachers. We understand that we are all beings of culture and nature (Ingold, 1995; Tiriba, 2018) and that the unhealthy contours provided by the capitalist regime and the dichotomies originated by modernity have separated us from biophilic, emotional, bodily and affective aspects, causing illness and degradation of the planet, therefore, the importance of investing in professional training and creating policies that ensure the right of babies and children to full-body experiences, culminating in the construction of a Brazilian pedagogy – macunaímica (Sangenis, 2020), exúlica (Souza, 2016; Rufino, 2018), quintaleira (Coutinho et al., 2022) with a verdant curriculum.

The rhea (Rhea americana) is the largest bird in South America, inhabiting, for example, the floodplains of the Pantanal and the savannas known as Cerrado in Brazil. In that study, the emu diet was evaluated in the Pantanal, revealing a variety of foods, with emphasis on leaves, fruits/seeds, invertebrates and small vertebrates. A diversity of plants consumed included legumes and species with fleshy fruits, such as Psidium sp. (Myrtaceae) and large palm seeds. This food variada suggests a potential role in seed dispersal, with the presence of apparently intact in feces. In a second stage carried out with emus in captivity revealed that they have a long gastrointestinal passage time, allowing the dispersal of seeds over long distances. The seeds ingested by R. americana presented variable results in germination, with some species benefited and others did not. The population decline of rheas could affect the regeneration of plants, especially when thinking about the quantitative component of the dispersal of seeds or dispersal distances. Understanding the ecological relationship between R. americana and native plants seems important for the dynamics and conservation of ecosystems where the species occurs.

The composite structures of timber and concrete appeared at the end of the First and Second World Wars, with the intention of replacing steel. This system seeks to use the advantages of both materials, wood presents good performance in tension and concrete in compression, however, due to the different properties of the materials it is difficult to predict the exact working mechanism of the connection system, thus how to measure the calculation of the slip modulus. In this scenario, the present research aimed to evaluate the factors that influence the service slip modulus (Kser) in a T-section beam composed of a concrete table and a wooden core, joined by metallic connectors. This analysis was carried out using a parametric approach via the finite element method, so that in the end it was possible to obtain a multiple variable regression equation to estimate the Kser with coefficient of determination R2 = 79.07 %, which highlights the good precision obtained in estimating this important structural variable.

There is a cellphone trade that happens mainly from Ciudad del Este (PY). It will be presented based on two specific journeys: “artisan” and “systematic”. This research is part of a movement that aims to think about different faces of “popular globalization” indicating actors, strategies and accumulation. Analysing the characteristics of these journeys, it is presented that sacolagem is a fundamental part of contemporary globalization, since it creates tension, legitimations, normative regimes and circulation of money displaced from hegemonic elites such as established retail stores. To capture these displacements, we operate multi-situated ethnography, inserting possible journeys, in other words, in episodic sequences of displacement captured in the field, and complemented with videos and documentaries representing the observed reality. Moreover, secondary data such as those from the Internal Brazilian Revenue Service and the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) were collected and processed.

The Brazilian graphics sector is strategic and important, enabling the dissemination of information and improvement in Brazilian education. However, there is a lack of scientific research regarding the methodology and philosophy of Lean Manufacturing. The objective of this work is to evaluate the relationship between the thinking of maximizing the use of resources, which contrasts with the philosophy of lean thinking. From a conceptual and theoretical point of view, a systematic bibliographic review was carried out that presented the difficulties and what approaches there are in the literature regarding the implementation of pull production in environments with a high variety of products and high seasonality of demand. From an empirical point of view, an in-depth case study was carried out in a company in the Brazilian graphics sector to understand the reasons and difficulties that decision-making leaders have in changing a mentality focused on efficiency to a mentality focused on reduction. of waste, being the main problematization in which this dissertation seeks to discover. To answer the questions elaborated in the empirical part, the research presented two propositions on how companies should seek to reevaluate their strategies and efficiency indicators and the implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices offer a solid structure to face the organizational challenges inherent to changing the mentality of efficiency in organizations.

The study of melodrama, traditionally linked to literary and cinematic studies, is increasingly being applied in sociological analyses addressing cultural and historical phenomena. This dissertation examines how the concept of melodramatic imagination, proposed by authors like Peter Brooks and Thomas Elsaesser, transcends the boundaries of gender studies and provides a powerful lens for analyzing documentary narratives about the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff. By highlighting how different documentaries adopt melodramatic strategies to portray the impeachment, an ideological polarization is revealed in which political figures are depicted as heroes or villains, influencing public opinion. The research emphasizes that melodrama is not merely a stylistic tool, but a moral language that shapes and legitimizes ideological discourse, offering a deeper understanding of contemporary political dynamics and the strategies for constructing their meanings.

Upon sectioning a hollow core slab into two ribs, a structural element with an innovative manufacturing process is obtained, here referred to as hollow core purlins, proposing a solution for roof structures. Although it offers a potential increase in production for manufacturers of precast concrete elements, hollow core purlins lack regulatory prescriptions, as they do not include transverse reinforcement. Therefore, the objective of the study is to conduct an experimental program to verify the technical feasibility of the structural element and to propose a calculation procedure that reproduces the behavior of the piece. To achieve this goal, six samples of hollow core purlins were studied. Initially, visual analyses were conducted on the manufacturing characteristics and variations in the cross-sectional geometry of each purlin unit. Subsequently, the pieces underwent a non-destructive positive bending strength test to characterize the stiffness and effective tensile strength values of the concrete. Following this, tests were performed to determine the resistance to shear force in order to identify the rupture mechanism of the elements. Finally, the experimentally obtained values were compared to theoretical calculation values based on the concrete compression strength, derived from factory quality control, to establish a relationship that demonstrates the tension shear mechanism, as published by the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards in NBR 14861 (2022), as the calculation procedure that best represents the behavior of the pieces by reproducing considerations about the cross-sectional geometry. The tests conducted in this study demonstrated that the pieces are capable of resisting shear forces, which are considered the main concern in the structural analysis of the element and ensure structural performance in accordance with established regulatory standards, thus ensuring the technical feasibility of hollow core purlins.
