Araucaria angustifolia, native and with ecological and economic value, is listed as critically endangered. This species has an intrinsic symbiotic relationship with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), microorganisms responsible for the acquisition of essential nutrients and tolerance to abiotic stresses, however, the presence or absence of these AMF can be influenced by environmental variables of the local landscape. The objective of this study was to verify the behavior of the community structure of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in A. angustifolia forests with different landscape characteristics using Bayesian modeling. AMF abundance was verified by counting spores, richness by morphological identification’ spores located in the rhizosphere and litter and analysis carried out by Bayesian inference and Monte Carlo simulation via Markov chains (MCMC). Richness reached the plateau of the species accumulation curve and changed with the predictive variables evaluated. Distance from the edge, soil phosphorus and herbaceous stratum cover were negatively correlated with soil and litter richness, while total vegetation cover and litter content were positively related to richness. Some taxa had variable behavior in relation to the predictive variables and Acaulospora mellea was more related to degraded environments. These findings suggest that local environmental variables influenced the assessed AMF diversity parameters

This study investigates the perceptions of faculty members in a Graduate Program, aiming to analyze faculty perception regarding their work in graduate studies, especially concerning the scientific guidance of students, as well as to discuss possible influences of evaluation criteria established by CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) in this context. Faculty work encompasses cross-cutting demands of affective, social, political, cultural, and economic nature. It is an activity in which professional experience and human interaction stand out in its execution. In this context, one of the aspects of faculty work is academic research guidance, which in turn encompasses dimensions that confer a high degree of complexity and supports scientific production with the participation of students and graduates in graduate programs. To deepen the understanding of the subject, a case study was conducted based on theoretical frameworks of Activity Ergonomics. This is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach, focused on understanding aspects of human behavior and their meanings related to the perception, experience, and opinion of the guiding subjects themselves. Data collection involved document analysis and the application of questionnaires and interviews. The data obtained through document analysis and the questionnaire were exploratory, providing an initial and comprehensive view of the topics covered. Interviews allowed for a more detailed and in-depth exploration of participants' perceptions, experiences, and viewpoints. Thematic content analysis approach was employed for the analysis of interviews, leading to the emergence of three themes encompassing the categories of research findings: perceptions about faculty work in graduate studies, difficulties faced, and strategies used in this work context. The findings of this study indicated that prior teaching experience as a mentee is the main element guiding mentoring work. The tasks prescribed in the context of work are broad and unfold into various activities, often resulting in overload. Guidance, for example, involves the development of research projects, seeking financial resources, and attention to psycho-emotional aspects, among other underlying responsibilities. Despite the challenges, it is a rewarding role due to the opportunity to positively influence the formation of future professionals in the field of knowledge. In this context, improving students' autonomy and commitment is seen as a promising opportunity to reduce situations of strain and overload.

This research focus on studying catholic blessing practices used in the municipality of Itaju, within the Jaú region of São Paulo state, Brazil. Specifically, it examined the procedures conducted to heal or protect the livestock animals, primarily cattle and pigs. The investigation relied both on pertinent literature analysis and field research with benedictors, livestock breeders and people with varying beliefs in the blessing practices. The aim was to investigate the blessing practices as a technique used in animal husbandry and understand its functioning in daily rural life of animal breeders. The practice of benediction involves learning through both gift and faith of all participants. In addition, animal breeders present it as a facilitator of rural work, integrating it as an active component in daily life with livestock. When considering benedictions, it became necessary to explore the consequences of this gift that some people have. This includes the expectation that benedictors ideally refrain from charging for their services and may use them exclusively for beneficial purposes. Additionally, since animals and others resources on farms are considered divine gifts, humans are authorized to enjoy these resources with a certain authority. Analyses of whom benedictions oppose and whom they aim to protect have revealed some distinctions between types of creatures, as “bicho” and “animal”: although both are creations of God, the “animal” creatures have the unique status of being created twice, by God and by humans, as livestock. In such cases, they are the most protected through benediction against snakes and “bicho” creatures, often perceived as pests. Therefore, the benediction works as a technique to protect livestock against certain animals and represent a facilitation in the work on rural properties that encompasses elements of catholic religiosity.
