listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise do uso da gamificação no ensino de segurança do trabalho na construção civil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-08-07) Moreira, Karla Cristina Bentes; Serra, Sheyla Mara Baptista; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8528385567782505; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9508-976X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3577527215729529; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8551-9746Improvements in the teaching and learning process are constant in Civil Engineering courses. Gamification has emerged as a strategic proposal to streamline classroom teaching. This strategy includes inserting game mechanics and features to engage, motivate, and facilitate student learning. This research aimed to analyze the impact of learning about Occupational Safety with undergraduate Civil Engineering students through a gamified activity. The gamification tool chosen was Hazfinder, a training game for identifying hazards developed by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The game works as a simulation of a construction site, where participants must identify and mitigate hazards over 30 days of execution. The experiment was applied during an academic event in a workshop where undergraduate students from the 3rd to 10th period of the Civil Engineering undergraduate course participated. Instruments were developed as knowledge tests and applied before and after gamification to assess content absorption. In addition, player motivation and satisfaction tests were conducted. The results demonstrated an increase in participants' knowledge after completing the gamification activity and recording their interest in using games, including outside the school environment. The general analysis indicated that gamification in curricular activities should be encouraged to promote student engagement and satisfaction. Although the results were not statistically significant, further studies are suggested to confirm that using educational games can increase student engagement and improve their academic performance.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, “Inclusão digital para todos” no ensino fundamental da rede pública municipal de Sorocaba: propostas e realidade(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-08-07) Campos, Sônia Maria de; Gatti, Márcio Antonio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0369563657842763; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0606394698186527This study presents the results of research conducted on publicly available documents and news items in local periodicals and on the official websites of the Sorocaba Department of Education (SEDU). The research focuses on proposals and actions implemented for "digital inclusion for all" within the scope of elementary education in the municipal public school system. Goal 7.2 of the Municipal Education Plan (PME) guarantees digital inclusion for all through training courses, an internet network, and sophisticated resources. To confirm what has been done in this regard and the prospects for continuity and progress in this area, projects and guidelines for the public network were analyzed for the implementation or improvement of technological infrastructure (networks, equipment, and connection), training for teachers, and the acquisition of digital educational systems. The findings indicate that many schools, teachers, and students have the infrastructure necessary to develop activities aimed at digital literacy, with access to systems and programs that facilitate pedagogical activities, the conscious use of the internet, and audiovisual production. As digital inclusion is not merely the distribution of devices, systems, and basic training, the complexities of the process require much more investment from the public authorities, not just financial. Digital inclusion is another of the skills built in school, and the entire school experience should prioritize balanced education and respect for people and nature in all dimensions.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Risco de violência e suporte social de pessoas adultas e idosas com doença renal crônica em tratamento hemodialítico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-08-07) Modesto, Bruna Giovana; Zazzetta, Marisa Silvana; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2350656835896699; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6450580029288991Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a clinical condition that involves the progressive and irreversible loss of kidney function. This can be a risk factor for the early development of frailty and generate profound care needs. Dependence on caregivers, associated with health comorbidities, have been pointed out as indicators of greater exposure to abuse, neglect, and violence. The objective of this study was to verify the risk of violence in people with CKD undergoing hemodialysis and its relationship with social support, family composition, depression, frailty, and functionality. This is a concomitant mixed-methods study, which was carried out with elderly and adults linked to a Renal Replacement Therapy Unit (UTRS) located in a city in the interior of the State of São Paulo. Qualitative and quantitative instruments were applied concomitantly to collect data, including: semi-structured interview, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), Medical Outcomes Study (MOS) Social Support Scale, Genogram and Ecomap, Katz and Lawton Index, Vulnerability Abuse Screening Scale (VASS), Tilburg Frailty Indicator (TFI). The convenience sample included 89 participants aged 40 or over, with more than six months of treatment and with understanding and communication skills, according to the results indicated by the Mini-Mental State Examination. Of the participants, the majority were women (46 (51%) and 43 (48%) were men, with an average age of 62 years, ranging from 41 to 85 years. Women reported suffering violence in greater numbers than men. Regarding education, a higher frequency of risk and violence committed was observed in people with 5 or more years of education. It was observed that violence is more frequent among adults aged 40 to 59 years and elderly individuals aged 60 to 69 years, compared to older elderly individuals. Statistical analysis revealed that depression, functionality in instrumental activities of daily living, frailty and social support presented significant relationships with the risk of violence. In the multivariate analysis, using the forward criterion, the variables depression, frailty and sex were significantly associated with the risk of violence. Patients with moderately severe depression are 5.8 times more likely to suffer violence (OR = 5.847; p = 0.049), while frail individuals are 6.5 times more likely (OR = 6.525; p = 0.017) to be victims of violence compared to non-frail individuals. The present study contributes to new fronts of work focused on longevity and biopsychosocial issues.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Óleo essencial de limão para controle de Alternaria alternata (Fr:Fr.) Keissler f. sp. citri(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-08-07) Petrônio, Luana Carolina de Franco; Conceição, Patrícia Marluci da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6623193710607120; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4690422467858973Concern about fungicide resistance and toxicity has led to the need to explore alternatives for controlling Alternaria Brown Spot (MMA), caused by the fungus Alternaria alternata. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of essential oils (EOs), in different concentrations, on the control of MMA. Experiment 1, carried out in vitro, was carried out in a completely randomized design (DIC), in a 2x4x5 factorial scheme, with two control methods (preventive and curative), four lemon genotypes for EO extraction (Amber, Eureka, Harvey and Siciliano) and five concentrations of EO (0, 2, 4, 8 and 16 μL ml-1), with three replicates per concentration. In experiment 2, carried out in vivo, it was installed in DIC, in a 2x4x3 factorial scheme, with three replications, two control methods (preventive and curative), four lemon genotypes for EO extraction and three EO concentrations (0, 8 and 16 L ml-1). In the preventive control method, approximately 1 ml of different concentrations of the solution with EO + Tween 80 was applied, after two hours, 1 ml of the pathogen solution was applied. For the curative control test, 1ml of the pathogen solution was applied to the leaves, and after 24h, the solution with EO + Tween 80 was applied. Severity assessments were carried out for seven days after inoculation of the fungus. Using the severity data, the Area Below the Disease Progress Curve (AACPD) was calculated. The data were subjected to analysis of variance, when significant for control methods and lemon genotypes for EO extraction, they were compared using the Tukey test, at 5% probability. When significant for concentration, they were analyzed by regression. The preventive control method, in the in vitro experiment, is better in controlling the fungus Alternaria alternata. The Amber genotype stood out in controlling the fungus, both in preventive and curative methods. The EOs of the four genotypes, in both application methods, provided greater control of the fungus with increasing EO concentration. In the in vivo experiment there was no difference between the control methods. The EOs extracted from all genotypes provided greater control when the highest concentration was used (16μL ml-1). The Amber genotype showed the greatest control of the fungus.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Das letras aos números: a produção de estatísticas e ativismos pelos movimentos LGBTI+(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-08-07) Galbieri, João Otávio; Leite Júnior, Jorge; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7253561448346772; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6234-9169; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3399538377771619; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4551-836XThis dissertation seeks to discuss the production of statistics by LGBTI+ movements, which from the second decade of the 2000s have consolidated the use of numerical narratives as a political strategy. To do so, we interweave the use of different materials and methodologies, such as field data obtained through the use of participant observation in meetings of social movements, recovery of laws that deal with gender and sexuality and qualitative analysis of quantitative data. These data are those found in reports produced by different segments of the LGBTI+ movements, such as the Gay Group of Bahia, between 2011 and 2021, the National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals, between 2017 and 2023 and the Movement for Advances in Public Policies for Attention to LGBTI+ populations, between 2020 and 2022, an initiative monitored within the scope of the city of São Carlos. The theoretical basis of the research seeks to combine a dialogue between gender and sexuality studies, whose advances allow a conception of the LGBTI+ political subject, with the sociology of quantification, an emerging field in the social sciences, which approach numbers through their social and cultural meanings, not limited to the supposed “neutral” reading of the social reality that they would provide. Our argument is that the "LGBTI+ numbers" direct criticism to the absence of gender identity and sexual orientation in the measurement criteria that underpin the governamental statistics, in addition to evidencing the search for an argument based on statistical language to claim public policies and counteract the absence of administrative-institutional memory in the apparatuses developed for this population.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Para Rollerski: sistematização de um programa de ensino para crianças e jovens com deficiência física(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-08-07) Pereira, Taylor Brian Lavinscky; Munster, Mey de Abreu Van; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7861049737421476; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2943-5967; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5432499378978811; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7029-1438Para Rollerski is an adapted discipline derived from Para Ski Cross Country (PSCC), a Paralympic winter sport practiced by individuals with physical and visual disabilities. Athletes use skis propelled by poles and compete in three categories: visually impaired, Standing, and sitting, the latter for participants who compete seated. In Brazil, the sport has developed thanks to rollerskiing, equipment that allows simulating PSCC techniques on asphalt. Rollerskiing has facilitated a growing number of participants in the country, enabling initial training on asphalt before transitioning to snow. This study aims to plan, implement, and evaluate a Para Rollerski teaching program for children and youth with physical disabilities. Specifically, it seeks to analyze the influence of the Para Rollerski teaching program on the individual development of participants in the sport's fundamentals before and after the proposed intervention. Additionally, it evaluates the suitability of the Para Rollerski teaching program for beginners with physical disabilities in this sport. This qualitative and quantitative study is characterized as a field research with a quantitative-descriptive approach focused on program evaluation. The study sample consisted of two physically disabled participants aged between 10 and 14 years. Data collection instruments included interviews using the PEI-EF, systematic observation via a field diary, the Para Rollerski Initiation Assessment Protocol (PAI-PR), and a protocol for evaluating sports initiation programs, both developed by the researcher to assess program effectiveness and participant progress. The PAI-PR was administered before and after a six-month intervention period, comprising 24 weekly sessions. Following program completion, a program evaluation protocol was administered by six judge-researchers specializing in Adapted Physical Activity. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the results. Findings indicated that the sports initiation program was effective in achieving its objectives and had positive effects on learning basic skills in the sport among children and youth with physical disabilities, particularly those in the sitting category. The program employed strategies that promoted learning, development, and participant engagement. In conclusion, an initiation program for Para Rollerski with a pedagogical approach emphasizing playfulness and enjoyment in execution, while deemphasizing performance, proved beneficial for learning new skills and fundamentals, preventing dropout, and ensuring participant retention.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Relações dialógicas na constituição da escrita de artigos científicos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-08-07) Silva, Fabrício José; Maciel, Lucas Vinicio de Carvalho; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8779101339709622; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6893336280962856; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7422-8989Dialogical relationships are constitutive of language and, as such, can present themselves in different ways. Based on this assumption, in this work, we intend to show how these relationships can appear in academic writing production practices, especially in the writing of scientific articles. The texts examined to illustrate our debate come from a research corpus consisting of 18 (eighteen) scientific articles representing the three major areas of knowledge, namely: Biological, Exact and Human Sciences. These are scientific articles available in scientific journals representing these three major areas whose Qualis is positioned in stratum A1. In the investigation undertaken, we anchored ourselves in reflections from the Bakhtin Circle, especially expressed in the works Problems of Dostoevsky's Poetics (Bakhtin, 2018) and Marxism and Philosophy of Language (Volóchinov, 2021), from which we propose to analyze dialogical relationships having in view of the following aspects: (i) types of prose discourse (referent-oriented discourse, objectified discourse and double-voiced discourse); and (ii) the types and variants of discourse through which dialogical links are textualized. In assessing these aspects, we resorted to examples of modes of citation in the compositional construction of these articles, based, above all, on some Bakhtinian concepts methodologically used in the study of dialogical relationships, with a view to comparing the Circle's explanations with examples from scientific articles. Through this procedure, we note how dialogical relations can manifest themselves in the scientific article discourse genre, in order to also make it possible to see differences in the composition and scope of dialogical relations, by observing how different forms of citation in scientific articles can be explained in light of the notions of dialogical relationships and types and variants of discourse. Based on the analysis carried out, we also highlight the links and conflicts between one's own voice and the voice of others, between the voice that quotes and the one that is cited, thus configuring the role of dialogical relationships in the composition of the scientific article genre based on the different modes of citation found in these articles.
