Currently, the main diagnostic test used is the blood count, which measures the levels of hemoglobin in the patient's blood. To do so, it is necessary to collect blood using sharp materials, as well as use specific devices to analyze the collected material. Therefore, this research proposed to quantitatively analyze the color intensity in RGB of photographs of patients' conjunctiva, using a smartphone application, checking whether it is possible to establish a correlation between the color intensity detected in the image and the level of patient's hemoglobin measured by blood count and, using this method, optimize the process of diagnosing and screening for anemia. This is research with a quantitative and applied approach, whose objective is exploratory and the procedure adopted was field research. The sample consisted of 50 patients over 18 for whom a blood count test was requested. The photographs were analyzed using the RGB Color Detector mobile device application, which allows measuring the red, green, and blue channels (red, green, and blue - RGB), and the data was processed using the SPSS software. The Pearson correlation test was performed between Hemoglobin, Red Channel, Blue Channel, and Green Channel, in which only the Green channel correlated with the Red and Blue channels (p <0.001), both being weak correlations, concluding, therefore, that the correlation between the variables did not demonstrate potential as a diagnostic method as initially hypothesized, since a Pearson correlation above 0.5 (moderate to very strong) was expected. The performance of the new diagnostic test was evaluated using the ROC Curve (Receiver Operating Characteristic), which demonstrated that Canal Red alone has greater sensitivity than specificity. This variable (Canal Red) was able to detect 75% of cases in which there is anemia, and a lower capacity to correctly classify those who do not have anemia – 52% of cases, that is, the measurement of this couple showed potential as a non-invasive and In this aspect, it exceeded the sensitivity established as the project's initial target of 60%, showing that it is a promising method, despite its inherent limitations - small sampling, external interference and lack of more complex technologies for image analysis, as per proposed by most recent work in the area of interest. Throughout the following pages, I describe part of my journey through medical sciences, which begins in childhood as a vague, playful, and fantastic idea, and gradually gains concreteness and complexity as the years pass and new scenarios emerge, providing intimate accounts and reflections of this entire intense and inexhaustible process of medical training. As an avid and passionate consumer of literature and the humanities in general, I was inspired, with the due adaptations, by the triple division observed in the novel "Head, Heart, and Stomach", by Camilo Castelo Branco. In the first cut, "heart", brings the beginning of the process of building the desire for medicine, still in childhood, a side with a more idealistic and fantastic predominance. Subsequently, in "head", this more fanciful and rudimentary idea begins to gradually take on a more concrete and complex tone, which ranges from the preamble of approval to graduation itself. The narrative, rich in details and reflections, follows the author from the early years of graduation to the completion of the internship. Through a qualitative approach, the study explores the various phases of medical training, from initial enthusiasm to the challenges of clinical practice. The report highlights the importance of humanization in medical practice, the search for a balance between technique and empathy, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the training of future health professionals. Throughout the narrative, the author reflects on the construction of professional identity, the importance of research, and the influence of mentors and colleagues. The Orthocentrinae subfamily, as defined by Förster 1869, is one of the least studied in the family. These small insects have a cosmopolitan distribution and are extremely numerous, comprising approximately 30% of the Ichneumonidae collected in Malaise traps. Currently, the Orthocentrinae have more than 500 species described in 29 genera. For the Neotropical region, studies are even scarcer, with only 18 genera recorded. The biology of these animals is little known, but consolidated research mentions their parasitoidism on Fungus Gnats (Diptera), a group responsible for causing serious damage to shitake mushroom, orchid and strawberry crops. Chile has a fauna of Ichneumonidae that is highly distinct from those found in the Neotropics, due to the region's historical isolation, as the rapid rise of the Andes since the end of the Miocene has led individuals from that location to show remarkable levels of endemism. This study analyzed the Orthocentrinae fauna in the Valdivan temperate rainforest (Chile), one of the best-defined centers of endemism in South America. The collection areas varied in altitude from 440m to 987m, using Malaise, Moericke and Shannon traps and vegetation sweeps. The work resulted in the description of a new genus with two new species.
