Este artigo analisa vídeos e postagens amplamente compartilhados que abordam temáticas relacionadas à ciência, identificando as potencialidades de sua problematização para a alfabetização científica e tecnológica no ensino de ciências. Fundamentado nos objetivos para alfabetização científica e tecnológica de Fourez (2005) e utilizando a Análise Textual Discursiva, o estudo categoriza os conteúdos segundo objetivos humanistas, sociais, político-econômicos e critérios relacionados à aplicabilidade na educação básica, discutindo como elementos visuais, vocabulário pseudocientífico e estratégias de engajamento digital podem induzir à desinformação. Os resultados apontam que a problematização desses conteúdos pode favorecer a formação crítica dos estudantes, contribuindo para a autonomia, o diálogo argumentativo e o domínio de conhecimentos científicos em contextos cotidianos. The distribution coefficients of these compounds were assessed, and log P values indicated their preference for the organic phase. After confirming their stability in solution, their in vitro cytotoxicity was investigated on different breast cell lines. Our findings revealed that Ru2 was 50-fold more cytotoxic and almost 2-fold more selective than the cisplatin control, considering MCF-7 cells. Also, Ru2 induced morphological changes and inhibited colony formation in this cell line. Considering the advantages of 3D cell culture models for screening new anticancer drug candidates, the effect of Ru2, which was found to be the best candidate compound, was investigated on multicellular tumor spheroids. A live/dead assay revealed a dead cell population in both 2D and 3D MCF-7 cell models upon treatment at the IC50 concentration. The ruthenium–phosphine complex was able to affect cell cycle distribution and mitochondrial membrane potential, inducing apoptotic cell death. Ames and micronucleus tests indicated the absence of mutagenicity for Ru2. In these formulas, N–S or S represents H2mq (2-mercapto-4(3H)-quinazoline); dppe (1,2’-bis(diphenylphosphine)ethane), dppm (1,1’-bis(diphenylphosphine)methane), or dppen (1,2’-bis (diphenylphosphine)ethene); and bpy refers to 2,2’-bipyridine. We have also compared the cytotoxicity of cisplatin with these ruthenium complexes to murine melanoma cells (B16-F10), human melanoma cells (A-375), and the non-tumoral human keratinocyte cell line (HaCat). All the ruthenium complexes inhibited melanoma cell growth in a dose-dependent manner. [Ru(2mq)(dppen)2]PF6 was four times more active toward A-375 cells than toward HaCat cells, inhibited colony formation in HaCat and A-375 cells (with a more pronounced effect on A-375 cells), altered A-375 cell morphology, and inhibited cell migration at 0.2 and 0.4 μM. In addition, we investigated how these ruthenium complexes interact with biomolecules such as DNA and Human Serum Albumin (HSA). All the ruthenium complexes interacted weakly with DNA, possibly through the grooves. Based on fluorescence assays, the ruthenium complexes interacted moderately with HSA. Crystal structure information was determined via X-ray diffraction (XRD), and elemental analysis confirmed the compounds’ purity. Experimental and theoretical UV-Vis data were compared through TD-DFT calculations, providing insights into the low luminescence of both Eu(III) and Tb(III) complexes, with excited states calculated both with and without solvent effects. DNA-binding experiments with ct-DNA were conducted using viscosity measurements, UV-Vis titrations, circular dichroism, and fluorescence competition assays to explore the complexes’ primary interactions with the DNA target. Additionally, DNA cleavage properties were examined using pBR322 plasmid DNA with agarose gel electrophoresis. Although no cleavage activity was observed, DNA interaction studies suggested covalent binding, supported by viscosity and circular dichroism data. Furthermore, analyzing the docking results, both compounds demonstrated stable conformations within the Sudlow I site also the lawsone-based compounds demonstrated an ability to bind to human serum albumin (HSA) with binding constants (Kb) in the range of 105-106 and showed Topoisomerase IIα inhibition at 50 μM. These compounds were characterized by several techniques (NMR [1H, 31P(1H), and 13C], HRMS, IR, UV-Vis and XRD) and their purity confirmed by elemental analysis. DLS experiments revealed low diameters and polydispersity indexes, and positive log P values in n-octanol/PBS indicated their preference for the organic phase. In general, these compounds are stable in different media over 48 h. Cytotoxicity experiments revealed promising IC50 values on A549 breast cancer cells, 0.48 μM and 0.80 μM for [Ru(mtz)(dppm)2]Cl (1) and [Ru(mmi)(dppm)2]Cl (2), respectively (mtz and mmi are 2-mercapto-2-thiazoline and mercapto-1-methylimidazole in their deprotonated form, respectively). Clonogenic and migration experiments indicated their antiproliferative and anti-migratory capacity. ICP-MS results indicated their cellular accumulation in the nucleus, with little amounts in mitochondria. No covalent DNA binding was observed by ICPMS. JC-1 and cell Mito Stress test confirmed mitochondrial dysfunction, which was verified by mitochondrial membrane potential uncoupling and drastic alterations in the oxygen consumption rate. Utilizando o conto oriental “A Jornada de Tarô” como inspiração, foi criada uma narrativa para apresentação de situações-problema que subsidiassem o ensino de ciências por investigação e atividades experimentais. A proposta envolveu leitura, experimentação e produção escrita e foi realizada em uma escola pública. A coleta de dados ocorreu com a gravação de áudio e vídeo das atividades, a partir do qual foram selecionados episódios de interesse para transcrição. A análise realizada teve caráter qualitativo e buscou identificar a manifestação de indicadores de alfabetização científica. To change this scenario, landscape and forest restoration (FLR) has been adopted as an effective strategy to mitigate the historical damage caused by the occupation of the region, especially in land reform settlements. However, the characteristics of these initiatives, the motivations of farming families and their effects on the agro-ecosystem have been little studied. The aim of this study was to characterize and analyse FLR initiatives carried out by agrarian reform family farmers in a rural settlement located in the VPP region, with a focus on potential improvements in the agro-ecosystems of the settled families. Semi-structured interviews with family farmers were used to collect qualitative data, along with questionnaires and farm visits. The data was analyzed using content analysis and descriptive statistics. Most of the interviewees who do catering are from urban areas and have a higher level of education. Among the strategies adopted, agroforestry systems stood out as the most common option among the families, implemented through community efforts. The main motivation for the families' involvement in restoration was the recovery and preservation of water. Increased biodiversity, improved soil, changes to the plot's landscape and the recovery of water resources were the main effects of restoration on the agro-ecosystem perceived by the families interviewed. The results of the research indicate that RPF, through agroforestry systems, has generated positive effects for family agroecosystems and presents itself as an effective way of enabling food production and simultaneously restoring degraded areas in rural settlements.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Cálculo numérico de autovalores, decomposição em valores singulares e aplicações(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025) Santos, Ana Barbara Omita dos; Rodrigues, Savio Brochini; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1302085627916721This work presents a study of numerical methods used for computing eigenvalues of real matrices, with a focus on the combination of the reduction to Hessenberg form and the QR method with Wilkinson’s shift. Theoretical foundations are first reviewed, including similarity transformations, diagonalization, the Schur factorization, and spectral properties. Next, Householder reflections and their role in the partial triangularization of matrices are described, a fundamental step for accelerating iterative eigenvalue algorithms. In the second part, classical iterative methods are analyzed — the power method, inverse power method, inverse iteration with shift, and the Rayleigh quotient iteration — culminating in the formulation of the QR method with shift, together with the deflation mechanism. Finally, the two phases are implemented and applied to a numerical example constructed with predefined eigenvalues and small perturbations. Chemotherapeutic agents are usually employed to treat the patients, and Ruthenium(II)-based compounds have been investigated as possible substitutes for platinum drugs. In this work, we studied three different Ru(II)-phosphine-mercapto complexes (1–3) as potential cytotoxic agents against A2780 and A2780-cisR ovarian cancer cells. A timedependent cytotoxicity was observed for 2, which also exhibited better selectivity than cisplatin control. A similar cytotoxic behavior was observed on 3D tumor spheroids. Although no changes were observed in cell cycle distribution, compound 2 affected the mitochondrial membrane potential on A2780 cells, and caused cell death via apoptotic pathway, which was confirmed by flow cytometry assay. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi investigar o comportamento informacional de usuários surdos que utilizam ou utilizaram, se já formados, bibliotecas universitárias durante a formação acadêmica. O comportamento informacional foi estudadoa partir dos modelos de Wilson, analisando como atuam as “variáveis interferentes”e a “teoria do risco/recompensa”. Um questionário online em Língua Brasileira de Sinais foi enviado por e-mail a 199 instituições de ensino superior brasileiras, para associações de surdos e pessoas da comunidade surda. A técnica de amostragem bola de neve foi utilizada para acessar mais membros da comunidade surda e foram recebidas 95 respostas. Avariável “característica da fonte”mostra que os respondentes preferem fontes humanas de informação; a “demográfica”pode estar relacionada ao acesso dos surdos ao ensino superior; a “ambiental”, influencia no acesso à informação pois a biblioteca está, em sua maioria,na segunda língua dos surdos: o português. Um ambiente de biblioteca universitária inclusivo exige de seus profissionais um olhar atento à comunidade surda e as transformações da sociedade. To achieve this, we rely on a theoretical framework covered by the concept of Hegemony, through Gramsci (1989; 2017), we reflect on the developments of the term New Right, through Casimiro (2018), Gallego (2018; 2019) and Rocha (2018; 2019). Considering the objective of the study to analyze the content disseminated on the official page of Movimento Brasil Livre (MBL) on Instagram, between 2019 and 2020, they seek to promote an educational practice and basic training aligned with the consensus of the new rights. We adopted a methodological rigor offered by the concept of Cyberactivism (Maia, 2016; Resende, 2019; Ferreira, 2017) and used a systematization of content analysis discussed by Bardin (2011) and Reiff (2022) to determine the 12 publications on the MBLivre page. This modification of native cover is intrinsically linked to Permanent Preservation Areas (APP) and Conservation Units (UC). Given the scarcity of studies in the Apiaí-Guaçu River region, this study aims to characterize land use and cover, as well as physical, biotic, and climatic aspects, in addition to conducting an environmental and socio-economic diagnosis of the Apiaí-Guaçu River basin. The study also aims to characterize land use and occupation, as well as areas of environmental restriction, focusing on the municipality of Buri/SP, through geoprocessing techniques. The graphical elements produced, combined with analysis and quantification tools, provided significant results for understanding and evaluating the region's dynamics. The average Human Development Index (HDI) for the area is 0.693. Land use and land cover between 1985 and 2022 underwent significant changes, with a notable increase in areas of soy, sugarcane, perennial crops, and urban areas, while forest cover showed a reduction. Regarding the Permanent Preservation Areas in the municipality of Buri, it was observed that approximately 26.07% of these areas are used for agriculture (20.6 km²) and non-vegetated areas (3.58 km²). To this end, we examine whether the narrative text distinguishes community from the degenerate body, enabling the consideration of the character Dorian Gray as a camouflaged monster. Esposito (2010), in his book Bíos, discusses the concept of thanatopolitics in conjunction with the semantics of biology, medicine, and related fields, exploring how the core of sovereign power is directed toward maintaining the health of the social body. This involves the creation of mechanisms to eliminate parts that could infect and compromise it. The cycle of life comprises four stages: regeneration, degeneration, eugenics, and genocide, all aimed at protecting health and saving the degenerate body. Furthermore, this body becomes a non-human, an other, living on the margins of society and beyond moral and legal influences, rendering it susceptible to violence imposed by sovereign power. Cohen (1996), on the other hand, explores the monster as a representation of society and culture, emphasizing its role as a tool for maintaining order and morality through the embodiment of what is different and must be feared. The monster embodies the latent fears of a given society, which may be political, sexual, racial, religious, gender-based, or otherwise. Our interpretation identifies Dorian as the degenerate body whose infection operates at a blood level, thus hidden from the community and free from condemnation. This concealment allows him to consolidate his position as a monster through this granted camouflage. His immoral and heinous actions, however, expose the monster until his inevitable downfall, as the existence of the degenerate body is unsustainable within this community. This study investigated the impact of adding nanoclay (NC) and nano lignin (NL) to thermoplastic starch (TPS) on its physical, chemical, and thermal properties, its effectiveness as a soil conditioner, and its resistance to UV-C degradation. TPS nanocomposites were prepared with varying NC (3 %, 5 %, 7 %) and NL (0.3 %, 0.5 %, 0.7 %) proportions and characterized by FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis), and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry). Swelling tests, phosphate buffer solubility, cation exchange capacity (CEC), and UV-C degradation resistance were evaluated. Results indicated that incorporating 7 % NC (TPS/NC7%) significantly improved TPS’s CEC and swelling properties. Conversely, adding 0.3 % NL (TPS/NC7%/NL0.3 %) improved photodegradation resistance and thermal stability. The TPS/NC7%/NL0.3 % nanocomposites also demonstrated superior water retention in soil, efficient absorption and controlled release of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK) fertilizer, significant reduction in the leaching of NH4+, H2PO4 , and K+ ions, and antimicrobial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, highlighting their biodegradability and potential as soil conditioners to promote agricultural sustainability. In this context, allelopathy emerges as a promising alternative for weed management. In Brazil, Esenbeckia leiocarpa (commonly known as “guarantã”) is a native species with underexplored allelopathic potential. Aiming to identify alternatives to herbicide use, this study evaluated the allelopathic potential of the ethanolic extract of E. leiocarpa at different concentrations on the germination and development of Bidens pilosa, Euphorbia heterophylla, and Digitaria insularis. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design (CRD), in a 5 × 3 factorial arrangement, with five extract concentrations (0%, 2.5%, 5%, 10%, and 20%) and three weed species, with four replications. Evaluations included germination percentage (G%), root length reduction (mm), and signs of phytotoxicity in the tested weed species. A concentration of 2.5% already caused a significant reduction in the germination of all evaluated species. E. heterophylla showed slightly greater tolerance at lower concentrations; however, germination was completely inhibited for all species at concentrations equal to or above 10%. In the growth bioassays, root length of the seedlings was reduced by approximately 50% from the 5% concentration. Regarding phytotoxicity, concentrations of 10% or higher induced more than 80% phytotoxicity in all species, indicating severe toxicity. Among the tested species, D. insularis was particularly more sensitive, suggesting a higher susceptibility to the extract. The results indicate that the weed species responded differently to the E. leiocarpa leaf extract, which contains allelochemicals capable of interfering primarily with germination and early development. In this work, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and 6061-T6 aluminum alloy hybrid joints with high interfacial strength were developed by injection overmolding, with metal inserts treated consecutively by abrasion, oxidation and silanization, using different solution concentrations and pH, and a post-molding heat treatment. Metal inserts treated with 2% v/v and pH 10 presented a more hydrophilic surface compared to untreated metal inserts, which contributed to the subsequent polymer-metal adhesion. Analysis of the hybrid joints cross-section indicated the formation of an aluminum oxide layer and a partial TPU infiltration into microcavities on the metal surface. In shear testing, the hybrid joints showed an asymptotic mechanical behavior, in which the force increased continuously up to approximately 3 mm of displacement and, from that point on, remained nearly constant until failure. This suggests that, up to 3 mm of displacement, the measured force is equivalent to the interfacial strength of the hybrid joints. From 3 mm, the TPU intrinsic mechanical strength began to show a more considerable influence on the mechanical behavior of the hybrid joints, since as the material reached its yield point. From 3 mm until the moment of failure, the measured force became a function of the plastic deformation of the TPU. With regulatory flexibility and incentives for the use of renewable sources, the Free Contracting Environment (ACL) has played a fundamental role in the sector’s modernization. This study analyzes the historical and regulatory evolution of the ACL, highlighting milestones such as Law No. 9.074/1995 and the recent Ordinances 514/2018 and 50/2022, which expanded consumer access to the free market. The research, qualitative and exploratory in nature, is based on a bibliographic review to understand the benefits and challenges of the ACL in the energy transition. Among the main benefits are cost reduction, freedom to choose suppliers, and encouragement of clean energy sources such as solar and wind. However, challenges such as the need for infrastructure investments, access regulation, and the intermittency of renewable sources still pose obstacles to market expansion. The analysis indicates that the full opening of the ACL, as proposed in bills like PL 414/2021, could democratize access to sustainable energy and increase sector competitiveness. However, this transition requires regulatory adjustments, rebalancing of sectoral charges, and measures to ensure security and stability in the electrical system. Finally, the study presents recommendations for strengthening the ACL, including regulatory improvements, consumer training, and incentives for distributed generation, aiming for a more efficient, accessible, and sustainable energy market.
