    Self-healing polymers are materials capable of autonomously repairing damage or responding to external stimuli, such as light, heat, or pressure changes, without the need for direct human intervention. These smart polymers utilize principles from polymer science and supramolecular chemistry to facilitate regeneration by leveraging reversible chemical interactions, including hydrogen bonding, van der Waals forces, and metal-ligand complexation. Self-healing can be classified as intrinsic when it arises from the material’s inherent properties or extrinsic when it relies on healing agents encapsulated in micro- or nanocapsules. The regeneration mechanisms involve physical processes (chain diffusion, shape memory), chemical interactions (supramolecular interactions, reactive chain ends), or hybrid approaches. These materials have broad applications in industries requiring enhanced durability, such as civil engineering, electronics, and biomedical fields, while also promoting sustainability by reducing waste and replacement costs. The development of smart self-healing polymers offers significant advantages, including increased longevity, reduced maintenance costs, and a positive environmental impact, making them promising for various applications in engineering, electronics, and medicine. This review concludes that integrating supramolecular chemistry with polymer science represents a significant advancement in the development of intelligent and sustainable materials capable of meeting growing industrial and environmental demands.

    This work is the result of a partnership between the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), mediated by the Center for Extension and Research in Water and Effluents (CEPAE), and the management of the Bela Vista Paranapanema-SP Rural Settlement. The settlement has no access to drinking water and the water treatment model suggested in the project is based on the characterization of the raw water from the Jurumirim Dam and is adapted to the demands raised by the community through assemblies. The Water Treatment Plant (WTP) model suggested is Multi-stage Filtration using water tanks as a tank and includes the stages of dynamic pre-filtration in pebbles, vertical upward flow pre-filtration in pebbles and sand and slow filtration with fine sand, activated carbon and two synthetic blankets. In order to adapt to the demands, the raw and treated water pumping stations were sized and the tanks were resized for masonry construction.

    The increase of emissions of greenhouse gases caused by anthropogenic actions intensified the global warming phenomenon, causing so-called climate changes and extreme weather events. The effects can already be noticed on the Earth’s surface and the urgency for solutions brings with it the search for strategies and tools that aim to mitigate the effects of climate change through reduction of emissions. In this context, the carbon market and its mechanisms, as REDD+, emerges. The strategy of reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation appears as an feasible alternative in respect of forest conservation. A case study of a real project was analyzed with the aim of understanding its true impacts in practice and verifying its relevance as a preservation agent, demonstrating the objectives to be achieved that benefit the environment and society. The results show the practical efficiency with regards to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fighting climate change and also reinforce the importance of searching for alternatives that increasingly aim to reduce emissions and the mitigation of anthropogenic impacts caused on the environment, seeking to converge towards a future in which there is a sustainable relationship between man and nature.

    This study analyzed the context, challenges, and impacts of implementing the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) in Brazil. Focusing on companies that use waste as raw material for biofuel production, the research adopted a qualitative and exploratory approach to assess the criteria and standards of the certification, as well as its practical applications in the Brazilian context. The growing interest of the European market in Brazilian biofuels was highlighted, as Brazil is one of the world's leading producers of this type of fuel, underscoring the importance of the ISCC in ensuring compliance with international requirements and access to demanding markets such as Europe. The study emphasized the relevance of certification as a tool to promote traceability, environmental compliance, and waste reutilization. However, difficulties in implementation were identified, attributed to the European origin of the standard and the developmental differences between continents. Despite these challenges, the certification has the potential to transform management practices, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and encourage waste reutilization.

    Water is an essential resource for life, playing a vital role in ecosystems and anthropogenic activities. Due to the improper use of water resources, population growth, and inefficient planning, water has become a scarce resource. The study of the morphometric characteristics of these basins is crucial for the sustainable management of water resources, identification of vulnerable areas, and prevention of water-related disasters such as droughts and floods. Thus, this study aims to analyze 12 sub-basins of four different landscape matrix types in the UGRHI 14 - Alto Paranapanema: forest, pasture, agriculture, and urban area. The analysis considered physiographic, morphometric, and land use aspects, using parameters such as: form factor (Kf); compactness coefficient (Kc); circularity index (Ic); drainage network frequency (Dr); sinuosity of the main river (Sin); drainage density (Dd); texture ratio (T); average basin slope (H); relief ratio (Rr); elongation ratio (Re), average surface runoff extension (l), and finally, the roughness index (Ir).

    Although the literature indicates an increase in the number of studies related to the theme of Physical Education (PE) and inclusion, difficulties in enabling the implementation of school inclusion persist. In this sense, it is important to provide Physical Education teachers with support and knowledge regarding strategies that enable the participation and learning of all students. Given the above, the objective of the study is to analyze whether a school Physical Education teaching program based on the principles of universal design for learning (UDL) meets the needs of a group of students who learn together in diversity. The specific objectives are: to verify the multiple means of engagement, the multiple means of representation, and the multiple means of action and expression used during the PE teaching program; and to verify whether the PE teaching program based on the principles of UDL allows the participation and involvement of students with disabilities in classes. A qualitative research was conducted, characterized as field research, of the program evaluation type, developed in a school of the regular education network in a medium-sized city in the interior of São Paulo. Students enrolled in two second-year elementary school classes that have two students with intellectual disabilities participated. The data collection technique used in this research was systematic observation (field diary and the Assessment Protocol of the Principles of UDL applied to Physical Education - PADUA-EF). The Physical Education program based on the principles of UDL (PEF-DUA) lasted one academic semester and had three weekly classes of 50 minutes each. The field diaries were filled out by the researcher during the application of the PEF-DUA and the observations were made through the analysis of the filming of the program classes. The treatment of the data from the field diaries was based on thematic analysis and the observations on descriptive analysis. The application of the Physical Education teaching program (PEF-DUA), structured based on the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), proved to be effective in promoting a more accessible school curriculum, including in classes composed of students with intellectual disabilities. The program consistently incorporated the three principles of UDL, favoring the engagement and active participation of all students in the proposed activities. Although challenges such as limited class time, lack of material resources and poor infrastructure were faced, careful pedagogical planning was essential for the successful implementation. The findings reveal that the principles of UDL can be successfully adapted to the context of school Physical Education, contributing to the creation of more inclusive environments. The study also highlights the importance of expanding future research, applying the PEF-DUA in contexts involving different types of disabilities, in order to evaluate its effectiveness in more diverse situations.
