    Quality assurance in polymeric materials is a fundamental aspect for excellence and competitiveness in modern industry. In this scenario, polymer characterization techniques such as Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetry (TGA), and Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) emerge as indispensable tools. The strategic and integrated application of these methodologies not only ensures product conformity but also drives innovation and operational efficiency. Quality control is extremely important in industrial production, and these techniques allow for rigorous monitoring from raw materials to the finished product. Deviations in thermal properties (DSC), composition (TGA), or chemical structure (FTIR) can indicate potential problems that, if undetected, would lead to failures in the final product. This early detection capability is crucial to avoid significant losses and ensure reliability. This work aims to demonstrate the relevance of data obtained by these techniques to identify the causes of non-conformities presented in a defective material, highlighting the differences between a compliant and a non-compliant sample, and the importance of these techniques in current times.

    Fission Track Thermochronology (FTT) can be combined with other geochronological methods to form what is defined as multi-proxy. The primary method among the various techniques is U-Pb dating. This is because, while FTT provides data on low-temperature events, U-Pb dating determines the crystallization age of rocks at high-intermediate temperatures. Together, these methodologies are effective for studies of sedimentary provenance, magmatism, metamorphism, sedimentation, and crustal accretion. Specifically, in this project, the methods were applied to apatite samples from the Antarctic Peninsula, a geologically complex region with little thermochronological exploration. The research focused on the western portion, emphasizing the Ellsworth Mountains, a strategic area for understanding the tectonic processes that acted on the Antarctic Peninsula. Four samples were analyzed using optical microscopy to obtain spontaneous track density (and dating) within TTF dating and Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) for U-Pb dating. TTF analysis of the Ellsworth Mountains samples gave ages ranging from 205 to 23 Ma, with a peak around 180 Ma related to rifting in the Transantarctic Mountains. Ages between 141 and 117 Ma indicate the age of uplift of the Ellsworth Mountains, while significant denudation events occurred between 50 and 45 Ma during the Paleogene. The U-Pb ages indicate an Antarctic uplift event in the Cambrian, after plutonic and metamorphic events, with ages around 500 Ma. The results reinforce the effectiveness of the integration between TTF and U-Pb in the reconstruction of the thermal and tectonic history of the region, highlighting the potential of TTF as a robust tool to investigate areas of great geological interest.

    This article analyzes the relationship between Brazilian inclusive educational legislation and everyday practices in public schools, focusing on the inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This qualitative research, of a bibliographic and documentary nature, seeks to understand the challenges faced by teachers and the institutional conditions that affect the implementation of legally guaranteed rights. The study also discusses the teacher’s role as a mediator of inclusion, highlighting both possibilities and limitations within the school context. The results indicate a significant gap between legal norms and the reality of pedagogical practices, emphasizing the need for teacher training and more effective public policies.

    The aim of this study was to assess the potential for generating photovoltaic solar energy on the ring road that connects the Raposo Tavares highway to the Engenheiro Lauri Simões de Barros highway, located in the municipality of Campina do Monte Alegre (SP). The analysis was conducted using simulations in the System Advisor Model (SAM) software, developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), a tool widely used for technical and energy modeling of photovoltaic systems. The proposal is based on taking advantage of underused areas along the ring road, characterized by being already terraced, grassed and devoid of productive or residential use. These characteristics give these areas favorable conditions for the installation of ground-mounted photovoltaic systems, with low environmental impact and reduced need for structural interventions. The simulation considered a system made up of fixed photovoltaic modules, oriented to the north, with low to medium use of the total area available. The results indicated an estimated annual generation of 403,075 kWh, enough energy to supply approximately 222 residential units, based on average national residential consumption. The data obtained shows that the use of ring roads to install photovoltaic plants represents a viable and strategic alternative for diversifying the Brazilian energy matrix. As well as contributing to the advancement of renewable energy sources, this approach allows for the efficient use and occupation of urban land, which is often idle, without compromising agricultural or environmentally sensitive areas. In addition, the study is a pioneer in the Brazilian context, since there are no consolidated records in the national literature dealing with the implementation of photovoltaic systems on ring roads. In this sense, the work serves as a starting point for future research, which could delve into the technical, economic, environmental and regulatory aspects of the proposal. The replicability of the methodology in other regions with similar infrastructure reinforces its potential for large-scale application, contributing to the consolidation of a cleaner, more resilient and decentralized energy system in Brazil, in line with the principles of sustainability and the energy transition.

    This thesis aims to analyze the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy, with an emphasis on the experiences of deinstitutionalization strategies for people discharged from psychiatric hospitals, Psychiatric Custody and Treatment Facilities (ECTPs) such as Psychiatric Custody and Treatment Hospitals (HCTPs) or Psychiatric Treatment Wards (ATPs) and currently from Therapeutic Communities. We start from the reflection on how public mental health policies are experienced in the daily life of services, based on the experiences of workers and users in the process of deinstitutionalization. To this end, I conducted an ethnographic study, with semi-structured interviews with workers and participant observation in the services that make up the Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS), in the cities of Campinas -SP and São Paulo -SP. It is concluded that there are inequalities in access and in the guarantee of rights; conflicts related to the social inclusion of inmates leaving psychiatric hospitals; political-institutional changes that point to a movement towards psychiatric hospitalization, fueled by Therapeutic Communities; in addition to the precariousness of work under neoliberal hegemony and the challenges of overcoming psychiatric practices in extra-hospital services.

    Endophytic microorganisms, isolated from plant tissues, can provide numerous benefits to their host plants through the production of bioactive secondary metabolites. In addition to promoting plant growth and increasing resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, these secondary metabolites have various applications, including antibiotics, insecticides, natural antioxidants, and antitumor agents. In this context, the present study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial and antifungal potential of Paenibacillus terrae and Paenibacillus polymyxa, in comparison with their co-cultivation. Both P. polymyxa and P. terrae exhibited enhanced antimicrobial activity when co-cultivated with Bacillus thuringiensis and Bacillus megaterium, achieving inhibition zones of 14, 15 and 15 mm against E. coli, S. aureus, and C. albicans, respectively. The broth microdilution test for determining the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) revealed antimicrobial activity only in the absence of a filtration step. Under these conditions, the most effective co-cultures reached an inhibition rate of 89%, with MIC values of 3000 µg/mL against E. coli, 6000 µg/mL against S. aureus, and 1500 µg/mL against C. albicans. The MBC values were 6000 µg/mL against both E. coli and S. aureus, and 1500 µg/mL against C. albicans. In the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles, a positive reaction was indicated by the color change observed during the process and by characteristic peaks in UV-Vis analysis at 412, 431, and 450 nm. The average size of the synthesized nanoparticles ranged from 124 to 257 nm according to NTA, and from 140 to 566 nm according to DLS. The addition of small concentrations of nanoparticles influenced the antimicrobial activity of P. polymyxa cultures. When 8.236 × 10⁸ particles/mL were added during fermentation, the resulting inhibition zones were 15 mm, 15.33 mm, and 14.33 mm against E. coli, S. aureus, and C. albicans, respectively. These values were higher than those observed in the control, which presented inhibition zones of 11.67 mm, 13 mm, and 12.33 mm, respectively, against the same microorganisms.

    Glass fragments are frequently found at crime scenes, serving as crucial microtraces in forensic investigations. The analysis of glass aims to identify the origin of these fragments and differentiate them, contributing to the reconstruction of events and the determination of material facts. Due to the diversity of glass types, chemical components, and manufacturing processes, these analyses involve both physical and optical properties as well as chemical composition. Although refractive index measurements were widely used in the past, technological advancements have necessitated more precise techniques, such as elemental analyses, to determine the origin of glass. In this context, the development of fast, simple, and accurate methods has become essential. The LIBS technique (Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy) emerges as a promising solution. With the ability to detect multiple elements and minimal sample preparation required, LIBS allows for the identification of the unique spectral fingerprint of each sample. Its straightforward operation, low cost, and nondestructive nature make it a viable technique for forensic applications, enabling the accurate classification and differentiation of glass fragments.

    Construção e validação de um guia de diretrizes clínicas para intervenção em saúde mental de profissionais de enfermagem no pós Covid-19

    To build and validate a guide with clinical guidelines for intervention in Mental Health, based on the evaluation of the profile of symptoms of mental suffering of nurses and nursing technicians from a Brazilian municipality who worked on the front line of COVID-19. Method: This is a study with multiple design, consisting of three complementary steps, which are: Step 1 - quantitative, observational and cross-sectional study with nursing professionals from a municipality in the interior of São Paulo; Step 2 - Scopping Review according to the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), for the construction of a guide with clinical guidelines for intervention in Mental Health of nurses and nursing technicians; Step 3 - construction and validation of a guide with clinical guidelines for intervention in Mental Health of nurses and nursing technicians. Results: The results of the quantitative stage showed an association between mental distress and workload, sex, use of non-prescription medication and also, presence of nurses with a higher prevalence of anxiety symptoms than nursing technicians. Through the scoping review it was possible to identify strategies to promote mental health, which included: the strengthening of interpersonal relationships, encouraging the search for specialized support, carrying out actions promoting subjective well-being and encouraging the adoption of healthy habits such as balanced eating, adequate sleep, rest and regular practice of physical activity. Based on these results, the Integrated Guide to Mental Health Care for Nursing Professionals was built. The validation of the content of the guide was carried out by 08 expert judges, through the Content Validity Index (IVC), reaching a global CVI of 0.97, which indicates a high degree of agreement between the judges. Conclusion: It is expected that these results can serve as a subsidy for new investigations, as well as the instrument is implemented by management in support of the mental health of health workers, because just as it is important to recognize the need for mental health improvement, it is necessary to intervene in the factors that compromise it.

    Although widely recognized for its toxicity, carbon monoxide (CO) has been investigated as a promising therapeutic agent. However, its clinical use is limited by the risks associated with uncontrolled inhalation. To overcome this limitation, carbon monoxide-releasing molecules (CORMs) have been developed, capable of storing and releasing CO in a controlled manner within biological systems. Among these, transition-metal-based photoCORMs - light-activated CO-releasing compounds - stand out for enabling temporal and spatial control of gas release. Nevertheless, most of these systems are activated by ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which is poorly penetrating and potentially harmful to tissues. As a result, there is growing interest in developing photoCORMs responsive to visible or near-infrared light, offering greater selectivity and safety. This text discusses the therapeutic aspects of CO, the role of metal carbonyl centers, mechanisms and strategies of CO release, recent advances in photoCORM development, and the contribution of Density Functional Theory (DFT) and its time-dependent extension (TD-DFT) to the understanding and rational design of new molecular structures.
