This research aims to explore how the learning of cross-cutting themes can contribute to the health of participants in a social basketball project. Using a qualitative approach, the study was conducted at the ASPA Institute, in Araraquara/SP, with children aged 7 to 10 years, through a pedagogical intervention consisting of six cross-cutting activities distributed across three thematic blocks. Data collection included semi-structured interviews with the participants of the local unit, the coordinator of the Multidisciplinary Department, and the reference Physical Education teacher of the social project, as well as field notes and documental analysis of the Institute’s Bylaws and Reference Guide. Data were analyzed using Structural Content Analysis (ANCO), based on isotopies, in order to identify recurring meanings in the participants’ statements and experiences. The theoretical framework is grounded in Jorge Larrosa-Bondía’s notion of experience, articulated with the health concepts from the Ottawa Charter (1986) and the 8th National Health Conference (1986). The results indicate that the implementation of cross-cutting themes within the context of educational sport is related to the health of children participating in the social project, strengthening bonds and expanding learning beyond the court, not limited to the biological dimension alone. The study contributes to the health debate by discussing the role of educational sport in promoting the health of children in situations of social vulnerability, reinforcing the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in Physical Education.

The research examines the extent to which Direct Action of Unconstitutionality (ADI) No. 4650 reflected disputes between political and economic elites within the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF), based on the 2015 ruling that declared corporate financing of electoral campaigns unconstitutional. The theoretical framework draws on contributions from the Sociology of Law, which conceptualizes the STF as an arena of dispute among political groups, guiding the analysis toward an understanding of how legal reasoning and social pressures intertwine in the decision-making process. Methodologically, the study employs documentary research and thematic content analysis applied to the initial petition, the justices’ opinions, the 2013 public hearing, and the amicus curiae submissions. The results indicate a predominance of arguments grounded in the principles of equality (isonomy) and anti-corruption, mobilized by different actors involved in the proceedings. These arguments reveal the construction of a discourse in defense of political equality and the integrity of the democratic process in a context marked by the emergence and consolidation of Operation Car Wash and the increasing delegitimization of the political system. A low level of mobilization of the right to freedom of expression was observed, as it was treated marginally in comparison with the emphasis placed on republican values and the fight against fraud. This suggests that the decision was influenced by both legal reasoning and the broader social pressures of that period. The research contributes by highlighting the role of the STF as a space of symbolic and institutional dispute among political groups, shedding light on the limits and potential of judicial review in contexts of representative crisis.

Parabens are a class of preservatives widely used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food products due to their antimicrobial properties and cost-effectiveness. Recently studies highlighted potential harmful effects associated with these preservatives, including hormonal dysregulation and increase risk of cancer and, in infants, parabens are associated with skin reactions and immunological dysregulation. Graphene oxide-based sorbents have been used on extraction of cosmetic ingredients and graphene oxide (GO) modification can enhance sorbents selectivity. This study developed and optimized an analytical method for the detection and quantification of parabens (methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben and butylparaben) in cosmetic samples (cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen) using dispersive solid-phase microextraction (D-μSPE) coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet and visible light detection (HPLC-UV/Vis) and mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). GO-based sorbents modified with ionic liquid, as well as commercial sorbents, were evaluated by dispersive solid-phase microextraction (D-μSPE) and microextraction by packed sorbent (MEPS). The sorbent functionalized with zwitterionic liquid, ViImC4S@GO, exhibited superior extraction capacity compared to other sorbents. A methodology was developed using dispersive solid-phase microextraction (D-μSPE), based on the parameters such as sorbent amount, desorption solvent, solvent volume, extraction time, elution time, and sample volume; and method performance was assessed through figures of merit including selectivity, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), linearity, precision, accuracy, and matrix effect. Finally, the developed method was applied to real samples.

Seeking to understand how a curriculum is constructed within a school seems to be a relevant aspect that could contribute to physical education in schools. This research is a case study based on a private school founded in 1994 which, based on the interest and initiative of its physical education teachers, created and adopted, in 2011, a Physical Education curriculum that includes various contents, themes, and activities to be taught, addressing the theoretical, historical, and sociocultural aspects of physical practices and, before competition, the appreciation of factors such as cooperation and integration in sport. Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze the process of constructing and implementing the Physical Education curriculum of a private cooperative school in the school system of the city of São Carlos, São Paulo. The research was qualitative in nature and used semi-structured interviews with four Physical Education teachers from the school who participated in the process of creating and implementing the curriculum, as well as documentary analysis of meeting minutes related to the period in question, for data collection. The data analyzed led to the creation of four categories of analysis, namely: a)Physical Education building a new role in school, in which we highlight the main aspects that an updated view of the discipline should value for a rich and diverse approach; b) What to teach in each teaching cycle and how to approach the content, in which we discuss the main content and topics to be taught in each teaching cycle; c) Relationship with guiding and reference curricula, in which the teachers interviewed commented on the theoretical references of the discipline and especially on those that influenced the analyzed curriculum structure; d)“External” conditions and interdisciplinarity, in which we analyze important aspects to be taken into consideration beyond the content addressed, aspects that are important to assist in the success of a curriculum project. Thus, based on the research conducted, we identified that a diversified and pluralistic approach, which values specificities, interdisciplinarity, practical aspects, and theoretical aspects, is the most appropriate path to achieve Physical Education that fulfills its objective of developing critical individuals through the culture of physical movement. In addition, we highlight the importance of addressing, in future work with other possible study methodologies, the theoretical references present within the area and the implementation of thematic units and content for all cycles of basic education, from early childhood education to high school.

Variedades tóricas, fibra de Milnor e equisingularidade de Whitney
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-11-14) Santos, Danilo da Nóbrega; Dalbelo, Thaís Maria; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8872438977518818; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7069-7777; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8573173492661145; https://orcid.org/0009-0006-7748-464X; Duarte, Andrés Daniel; Álvarez, Maximiliano Leyton; Hernandes, Maria Elenice Rodrigues; Santana, Hellen Monção de Carvalho; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0245964282453231; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2454731997889446
In this work, we study toric varieties as well as related objects, such as hypersurfaces, along two lines of research. In the first part, we establish conditions on a family of functions defined on an arbitrary toric variety, ensuring that the associated family of hypersurfaces is Whitney equisingular. In the second part, we present a toric structure for the 2-generic symmetric determinantal variety, together with a detailed study of the combinatorics of the cone associated with this structure. As an application, we obtain a formula for computing the Euler characteristic of the Milnor fiber of functions with an isolated singularity at the origin defined on them. Using this formula, we compute the local Euler obstruction of the 2-generic symmetric determinantal variety at the origin. Altogether, the results contribute both to the study of Whitney equisingularity in toric varieties and to the combinatorial and topological understanding of generic symmetric determinantal varieties.
