listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Aplicação de fotocatálise homogênea e heterogênea na oxidação de ligações C(sp³)-H(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Cunha, Carla da Silva; Teixeira, Ivo Freitas; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9782517948999001; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4832188359463659; Nogueira, Francisco Guilherme Esteves; Vieira, Luiz Henrique; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8117497993539795; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0926387743487008The functionalization of C(sp³)-H bonds represents a central challenge for the contemporany chemical industry. Both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic processes are widely employed to modulate the activation energy of these reactions, aiming to obtain high-value-added derivatives. Among the transformation routes, oxidation stands out for generating products such as alcohols, ketones, and carboxylic acids. To make such processes viable, photocatalytic strategies have been developed to reduce costs and operate under mild conditions, seeking high conversion and selectivity rates. In this context, carbon nitrides have gained prominence due to their significant photocatalytic potential. In the present work, highly crystalline ionic carbon nitrides in the form of poly(heptazine imide) (PHI) were synthesized and subjected to specific structural modifications: the stabilization of metallic single-atoms via cation exchange and the protonation of negative sites using HCl. These materials were applied in the photo-oxidation of cyclohexane, resulting in the formation of KA oil (a mixture of cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol) under mild conditions with good conversion and selectivity. Furthermore, homogeneous photocatalysis was explored for the selective conversion of methane to formic acid, utilizing iron (III) chloride, a simple, inexpensive, and abundant compound, as a photocatalyst. This reaction approach operated under visible light irradiation and at room temperature, consolidating a simple and effective system.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Processamento, microestrutura e propriedades de componentes produzidos a partir de pós descartados da liga AlSi10Mg(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Oliveira, Mila Christy de; Xavier, Marcella Gautê Cavalcante; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1461465373583248; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5690-9377; Spinelli, José Eduardo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8882038118634925; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0611-1038; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0658518700609597; https://orcid.org/0009-0007-7392-0587; Magalhães, Danielle Cristina Camilo; Silva, Maria Adrina Paixão de Souza da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5486724956564584; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6642036918358829; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5857-4902; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7202-4541Out-of-spec aluminum powders, usually discarded, represent an underutilized resource. Alternative consolidation routes make powder reuse a promising and environmentally sustainable solution for the AlSi10Mg alloy. The methodology of this work addresses the uniaxial compaction of powders under loads between 30 and 100 kN, followed by remelting and rapid solidification by suction casting. The main objective is to verify the possibility of producing components with mechanical and tribological properties similar or superior to those obtained by conventional routes. The results show that the adopted route produces parts with extremely low porosity (≤0.2%) and refined dendritic microstructures (spacings between 2.4 and 4.6 µm). Microstructural refinement is mainly controlled by the cooling rate and the compaction load. Intermediate loads (50–80 kN) enhance densification and refinement, resulting in low porosity, whereas higher load (100 kN) proves detrimental, leading to increased porosity (3,6%) and reduced microhardness (87 HV) due to limited penetration of the molten metal. Samples with more refined microstructures achieve compressive strength above 500 MPa and Vickers microhardness values exceeding 100 HV, values that significantly surpass by conventional casting (60–80 HV). In wear tests, an inverse correlation between hardness and wear rate has been observed. The densest and most refined samples (50 kN/3 mm) exhibit wear rates of 2.3 × 10⁻⁴ mm³/N·m, comparable to components produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion. Even under abrasive conditions, although mass loss was higher, the influence of microstructural refinement remains evident. The combination of compaction and suction casting is thus confirmed as an efficient upcycling strategy for AlSi10Mg, converting powder waste into high-performance components for automotive and aerospace applications, particularly thin-walled parts.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A dialética do cuidado: cuidar de si e cuidar do outro no processo de envelhecimento de cuidadores não remunerados(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Mendiondo, Micaela; Pedro, Wilson José Alves; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8135701448186851; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9540-7078; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6983115856877327; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-2156-0691; Alves, Cecília Pescatore; Gratão, Aline Cristina Martins; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4965343655310954; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7873339343111119; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6061-0180; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8508-0251Population aging, resulting from declining birth rates and advances in health care and socioeconomic conditions, has intensified the demand for long-term care. In Brazil, this responsibility remains predominantly within the family sphere, with limited state support, which contributes to the invisibility and feminization of informal care work. Therefore, it is necessary to understand how caregivers make sense of care and self-care throughout the aging process. Objective: To analyze informal caregivers’ perceptions of caring for others and selfcare, considering their implications across different age groups and in their own aging process. Method: This is a qualitative study grounded in historical-dialectical materialism and Historical-Cultural Psychology. Nine informal caregivers of older adults participated and responded to semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis was conducted, from which categories and subcategories emerged, as well as identified tensions. Results and Discussion: The resulting categories were Care, Self-care, Learning, Work, and Aging. Four central tensions were identified: individual versus collective; living versus surviving; formal work versus care work; and care guaranteed to others versus lack of protection in one’s own old age. Final Considerations: Care, although sustained by affective bonds, remains structured by inequalities that keep it within the private sphere. The findings reinforce the need for integrated public policies, such as the National Care Policy, that promote social co-responsibility and protection for caregivers throughout the life course, contributing to debates in Critical Gerontology and the Psychology of Aging.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Percepções de indivíduos com Transtorno do Espectro Autista sobre jogos digitais: perspectivas centradas no usuário(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Thomazini, Eduardo; Pedro, Ketilin Mayra; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0991868156805558; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2826480627292462; Pedro, Ketilin Mayra; Gonçalves, Adriana Garcia; Hummel, Eromi; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0991868156805558; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3907378784787581; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0729013084742634Digital games, driven by technological advances and intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic, have been increasingly used. Among the different audiences, the community of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) stands out, as these individuals have, over the years, shown great interest in the use of technologies, especially electronic games. With the increased access to technology and the internet in recent years, digital games have become more than mere entertainment, serving for many as spaces for socialization or even learning. Thus, the present research has the general objective of understanding the experience of people with ASD in commercial digital gaming environments and, as specific objectives, identifying the motivations of people with ASD regarding digital games and describing the positive and negative aspects of their experiences in these games. The study is characterized as exploratory, in which three young adults with ASD, aged over 18 and users of commercial digital games, were interviewed using a semi-structured interview guide. The data were analyzed based on the principles of content analysis. Regarding the results, it was observed that, for the participants, games provide much more than mere entertainment; since their first experiences with these products, these individuals have used them as a form of companionship, even when playing alone. They spend a large portion of their time in digital environments, which become means of social interaction. It was also noted that games promote learning and personal development for these individuals and are very important in their lives. The participants indicated that, although digital games may present potential harm and lead to social isolation when used inappropriately, they are, for them, beneficial, as they provide comfort and rest, allow socialization according to individual needs, stimulate the acquisition of knowledge and the exploration of new activities, and, moreover, enable the establishment of new friendships. Furthermore, the research highlighted relevant aspects of the participants’ use of digital games, such as emotional regulation, personal development, entertainment, and social interactions according to their individual needs, emphasizing the importance of these products in their lives and thus presenting potential to serve as a basis for future research on the emerging use of digital games by people.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Adaptação cultural e evidência de validade da Quality of Life Scale for Informal Carers for Older Adults (QoL-IC) e da Care Experience Scale (CES) para o contexto brasileiro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Frisanco, Fernanda Menegatti; Orlandi, Fabiana de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7395879552721664; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5714-6890; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9540155513179432; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8911-3287; Gratão, Aline Cristina Martins; Pavarini, Sofia Cristina Iost; Sanchez, Andrea; Ribeiro, Rita de Cassia Helu Mendonça; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7873339343111119; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1983620301963081; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5520916307364377; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3382026798255936; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8508-0251; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9359-8600; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1016-0484Population aging has increased the demand for informal caregivers, whose quality of life (QoL) and care experience still lack specific and validated instruments for the Brazilian context. This study aimed to translate, culturally adapt, and examine validity evidence of the Quality of Life Scale for Informal Carers for Older Adults (QoL-IC) and the Care Experience Scale (CES) for use in Brazil. This was a methodological study conducted in two stages: (1) translation and cultural adaptation according to international guidelines, and (2) evaluation of psychometric properties, including exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, internal consistency, test–retest reliability, and construct validity using external measures. The Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) and the Patient Health Questionnaire–2 (PHQ-2) were used for construct validation. Convergent validity was assessed through correlations between CES and QoL-IC scores and SF-36 domains, while discriminant validity was examined using cross-loadings and known-groups comparisons between caregivers with and without burden, assessed by the Brief Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI-12), and with and without depressive symptoms, assessed by the PHQ-2. Thirty five caregivers participated in the pretest, and 240 informal caregivers were included in the psychometric evaluation, all recruited from the Programa Melhor em Casa in Mogi Guaçu, São Paulo, Brazil. Cultural adaptation followed ethical principles and recommended procedures, with conceptual and cultural equivalence confirmed by six expert judges. For the CES, exploratory factor analysis identified a two-factor structure; after exclusion of one item with low factor loading, the two factors explained 58.3% of the total variance. Test–retest reliability was excellent (ICC = 0.984). The CES showed significant negative correlations with SF-36 domains, including physical functioning (r = –0.141; p = 0.028), general health (r = –0.159; p = 0.013), vitality (r = –0.145; p = 0.024), and the physical (r = –0.250; p = 0.020) and mental (r = –0.293; p = 0.027) component summaries, as well as a moderate positive correlation with PHQ-2 scores (r = 0.311; p = 0.032). Caregivers with burden and depressive symptoms presented higher CES scores (p < 0.05). CES scores were significantly associated with all QoL-IC domains, particularly exhaustion, support for caring, financial issues, and personal growth (p < 0.001). For the QoL-IC, confirmatory factor analysis retained the six-domain structure after excluding items 8 and 24, with factor loadings ≥ 0.40. Internal consistency ranged from 0.47 to 0.92. Correlations with SF-36 domains were weak to moderate (r = 0.262–0.307; p = 0.002–0.012), and negative associations were observed between exhaustion and depressive symptoms (r = –0.417; p < 0.001). Caregivers without burden and depressive symptoms showed higher QoL scores in several domains and in the total score (p < 0.05). The CES and QoL-IC demonstrated preliminary evidence of validity and reliability for use in Brazil, supporting their applicability in research, clinical practice, and public policies targeting informal caregivers of older adults.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Armazenagem de hidrogênio em ligas Mg – Ni preparadas por metalurgia do pó seguida de limagem(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Viana, Matheus Ribeiro; Zepon, Guilherme; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7924187202036614; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5852-9076; Leiva, Daniel Rodrigo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6576844591900987; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1970-6375; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9823792485901496; https://orcid.org/0009-0009-6811-9618; Otani, Lucas Barcelos; Soyama, Juliano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2519980413159984; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9061278469734475; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2831-2335; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2835-6183The advancement of hydrogen storage technologies is essential to enable the use of H2 as a clean and sustainable energy carrier. Magnesium hydride exhibits a high gravimetric capacity (7.6 wt%) and good reversibility; however, it shows slow hydrogen absorption/desorption kinetics and high thermodynamic stability. The addition of nickel to magnesium is an effective strategy to overcome these limitations, mainly due to the formation of the Mg2Ni intermetallic compound, which acts as a “hydrogen pump” for Mg, since its reversible conversion to Mg2NiH4 occurs with faster kinetics than the hydrogenation of pure Mg, promoting H2 dissociation and the transport of atomic hydrogen into the Mg matrix. In this work, a mixture of Mg with 22 wt.% Ni was processed by powder metallurgy, and sintering at 500°C for 30 minutes resulted in the formation of a composite containing Mg–39.5wt.% Mg2Ni, which was subsequently pulverized by rotary filing prior to hydrogenation tests. The composite exhibited hydrogen absorption and desorption performance superior to that of Mg processed under the same conditions (2.5 wt.% H₂ in 600 minutes). The initial activation showed an incubation time of approximately 40 minutes, reaching 4.0 wt.% H2 after 140 minutes; after the first cycle, a pronounced acceleration of the kinetics was observed, with the same capacity being achieved in only 5 minutes during the second absorption. Air exposure tests indicated good oxidation resistance, and after 30 days the composite maintained the ability to absorb 4.0 wt.% H2, reached in 220 and 5 minutes during the first and second absorptions, respectively. These results demonstrate that the combination of powder metallurgy and rotary filing constitutes a simple and efficient processing route for obtaining Mg–Mg2Ni composites with superior hydrogen storage properties.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação funcional na primeira infância: confiabilidade, aplicabilidade e validade social da medida de engajamento, independência e relações Sociais (MEISR-Br) no contexto brasileiro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Betti, Ana Claudia Moron; Della Barba, Patrícia Carla de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6448489426438006; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7893-8133; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2540775507458957; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8841-8134; Pfeifer, Luzia Iara; Sposito, Amanda Mota Pacciulio; Bernal, Cíntia de Menezes Fernandes; Morales-Murillo, Catalina Patricia; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9065968448027440; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4920933160841646; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6296799210310326Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) has undergone a paradigmatic shift over recent decades, moving away from deficit-oriented models and isolated clinical interventions toward approaches that recognize the family as the protagonist of the process and natural contexts as privileged spaces for learning and development, prioritizing the child’s functional participation in meaningful everyday activities. In this scenario, Family-Centered Practices have been widely recommended by international literature. In Brazil, however, there is a gap in assessment instruments that measure children’s functional participation in daily routines in a manner consistent with these theoretical frameworks and with the realities of ECI services. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze the reliability, applicability, and social validity of the Brazilian version of the Measure of Engagement, Independence, and Social Relationships (MEISR-Br). This is a methodological, cross-sectional study involving 45 ECI professionals and 137 families of children aged 0 to 5 years. The sample comprised applications of the 0–3 and 3–5 versions of the MEISR-Br, originating from two groups of professionals with different training pathways. Internal consistency analyses were conducted using Cronbach’s alpha, along with correlation analyses among the scale’s routines and descriptive analyses of applicability questionnaires completed by professionals and social validity questionnaires completed by families. As a complementary procedure, professionals’ reports regarding modes of instrument application and perceived difficulties during completion were systematized. The results indicated high internal consistency indices for the total scale and for the routines, supporting the internal coherence of the MEISR-Br and its alignment with the construct of functional competence. Correlation analyses among routines showed moderate to high associations, reinforcing the understanding of functional participation as an integrated phenomenon throughout daily life rather than a set of isolated skills. Regarding applicability, professionals recognized the instrument’s relevance for guiding functional assessment, intervention planning, and feedback to families, although challenges related to questionnaire length, reading demands, and time required for application were noted. Social validity findings indicated good acceptance by families, particularly when application was mediated by professionals. Notably, the development of a digital scoring and data visualization spreadsheet facilitated data interpretation and information sharing with families. It is concluded that the MEISR-Br is a promising tool for Early Childhood Intervention in Brazil, enabling the assessment of children’s functional participation in daily routines in accordance with the principles of Family-Centered Practices and authentic assessment. This study contributes to the qualification of professional practices, the dissemination of the concept of engagement in natural contexts, and the strengthening of an interdisciplinary approach sensitive to the social and institutional inequalities of the Brazilian context. Future studies are recommended to further investigate other psychometric properties of the scale through longitudinal designs and larger samples, as well as to continue training initiatives that support the critical and reflective use of the instrument in professional practice.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A prática social do brincar entre crianças indígenas e não indígenas no Colégio de Aplicação da UFSCar: processos educativos interculturais na educação infantil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Aguiar, Anacleide Assunção Costa; Corrêa, Denise Aparecida; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7114759404153218; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9890-7476; Dessana; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2734265809298544; https://orcid.org/0009-0008-4533-6567; Foganholi, Claudia; Salim, Natalia Rejane; . http://lattes.cnpq.br/3015557160976384; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1116654985699024; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1073-9656; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7744-8274La presente investigación se orienta por la siguiente pregunta de investigación: ¿Qué procesos educativos se derivan de la práctica social del juego entre niños indígenas de diferentes pueblos y niños no indígenas en una institución escolar de Educación Infantil? Although functional alterations are frequently described, studies integrating objective measures of physical performance, such as balance, with the perceptions of movement reported by women with fibromyalgia remain limited. Understanding this relationship may contribute to a more integrated interpretation of the functional limitations associated with fibromyalgia, expanding the possibilities for movement-focused clinical assessment and intervention. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate dynamic balance in women with fibromyalgia by comparing their performance with that of healthy women and analyzing its associations with pain, fatigue, muscle strength, physical fitness, central adiposity, and autonomic modulation, as well as to understand, from a qualitative approach, how these alterations are perceived and experienced in daily life. Methods: This study comprised two phases, one quantitative and the other qualitative. The quantitative phase, a comparative cross-sectional design, involved 32 women with fibromyalgia and 32 matched healthy women. Dynamic balance was assessed using the Y-Balance Test (YBT) and analyzed in conjunction with measures of pain (11-point numerical scale, temporal summation, conditioned pain modulation, and pressure pain threshold), fatigue (Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory), physical fitness (6-minute walk test), isokinetic muscle strength, central adiposity (waist-to-height ratio), and cardiac autonomic control (heart rate variability). Quantitative analyses included comparisons between groups and tests of association between balance performance and clinical and functional variables. For the qualitative phase, another 30 women participated in semi- structured interviews, which were analyzed using phenomenological analysis based on Bardin's content analysis, guided by the frameworks of motor control and the lived body. Results: In the quantitative comparison between groups, women with fibromyalgia showed significantly poorer performance in dynamic balance compared to healthy women, evidenced by lower functional reach in the YBT (p < 0.05). Within the fibromyalgia group, balance performance showed significant associations with greater pain intensity, higher fatigue, lower physical fitness, and reduced muscle strength. Qualitative analysis revealed that balance is experienced as an expression of a body marked by constant vigilance and the need for movement monitoring, insecurity, and a continuous need for adaptation. Participants reported difficulties in movement automaticity, reduced confidence in moving, reorganization of daily tasks, and a direct impact on social participation. Conclusion: The impairment of dynamic balance in women with fibromyalgia suggests alterations in motor control that involve both measurable functional changes and transformations in the perception and meaning of movement. The integration of quantitative and qualitative findings indicates that balance acts as a functional marker associated with the interaction between pain, fatigue, physical performance, and bodily experience, reinforcing the need for therapeutic approaches that consider movement in an integrated manner, encompassing biomechanical, autonomic, perceptual, and psychosocial aspects.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Clima escolar em uma escola do programa de ensino integral do estado de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Oliveira, Maria Eduarda; Nascente, Renata Maria Moschen; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3742955383665134; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9395-3166; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7172087740875995; Moro, Adriano; Gomes , Luiz Roberto; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0040695888742470; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4768579559449929; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8867-7897This dissertation was developed within the scope of the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of São Carlos (PPGE-UFSCar) and the Study and Research Group on School Organization: Democracy, Human Rights, and Principals’ Development (Deforges). The research on which it is based is part of a broader investigation, developed by this research group, which focused on the study of leadership and school climate in some schools that joined the São Paulo State Comprehensive Education Program (PEI) in the city of São Carlos, SP. Thus, this research constitutes a continuation of a previous one, which, among other procedures, included the application of the school climate pre-test (Moro, 2020) in one of these schools. Thus, the objective of this master's research was to map the school climate at this school, to understand its characteristics and what changes it has undergone over the last two years, marked by a change in government that had a strong impact on the state education system, particularly in PEI schools. The question posed was: what have been the changes in the school climate over the past two years? Given this objective and research question, this investigation was conducted using mixed methods (Creswell; Creswell, 2021). The administration of the school climate post-test (Moro, 2020) provided quantitative data that were statistically analyzed, which was complemented by participant observations (Bogdan; Biklen, 2010) – enabling the collection of qualitative data. The triangulation of quantitative and qualitative data analyzed has indicated changes in the school climate, particularly from the perspective of the administration team. The general objective is to identify this concept within the scope of the aforementioned critical pedagogical theory, as well as, from it, to analyze the assumptions of innovation in the teachers training, above all, considering the national curriculum parameters expressed in Resolution CNE/CP nº 4, of 05/29/2024, which establishes the new national curriculum guidelines for the Initial Formation of Basic Education Teachers. It seeks to answer the following problem: what is the concept of innovation in Historical-Critical Pedagogy and to what extent, based on this concept, can Resolution CNE/CP n° 4, of May 29, 2024, be evaluated? To reach the answer to the research question, a bibliographic survey was used, which identified and analyzed the official documents that guide the innovation in policies aimed at teacher training in Brazil, according to the theoretical bases of PHC. We established Historical-Dialectical materialism as an epistemological assumption, which subsidized the recognition of the object of innovation from the multiple determinations that dialectically respond to the relations constituted by the political-social structure of the capitalist mode of production. The construction of the concrete aspects, which comprise the materiality of phenomenon, responded to the historical development of the object through the mediation of the following categories of analysis: contradiction, mediations and totality. We took four axes of analysis to conduct the methodological path, which are: 1) characterization of the concept of innovation based on the review of the bibliography in the field of initial teacher education; 2) identification of the concept of innovation within the philosophical foundations of historical-dialectical materialism; 3) identification and characterization of innovation in educational trends according to PHC; and 4) characterization and analysis of the concept of innovation in the 2024 Resolution based on the assumptions of the PHC. We conclude that the concept of innovation in the pedagogical currents characterized by Saviani (2018) as noncritical, as they produce only superficial modifications, has historically been conformed as a process of reification of scientific/technological knowledge, which accelerates the production of surplus value and instrumentalizes the so-called technocentric innovation in the forms of the current neo-technicist model of education. Based on the elaboration of Saviani (1980, 2011), it is concluded that when PHC assumes the context of social practice to establish new purposes of its educational action, a set of theoretical-methodological elements is constituted that guide the process based on the transforming action of concrete reality. Thus, critical pedagogy innovates in method, but unlike non-critical pedagogies, which elaborate a type of innovation that corresponds exclusively to the internal problems of teaching, it considers the problems that emerge from/in social practice and is established by catharsis, roughly understood as the elevation of awareness of oneself and of the natural and social world to a higher level, which takes place as a leap in the quality of consciousness and action, or rather, of praxis. From this framework, it was possible to identify that the curriculum policy for teacher training, outlined in the aforementioned 2024 guideline, is based on a neo-productivist conception of innovation, and conceives educational processes in a dichotomized way from the reality that structures the basis of the capitalist mode of production.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Transformações do ecodesign em perspectiva CTS: uma investigação e adequação sociotécnica em feiras de economia solidária na cidade de joinville-SC(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Corrêa, Silvia Rosa da Costa; Sousa, Cidoval Morais de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0573233540937425; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7812-8667; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5186298030098812; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8500-9850; Sousa, Cidoval Morais de; Furnival, Ariadne Chloe Mary; Zanin, Maria; Forno, Marlise Amália Reinehr Dal; Costa, Antonio Roberto Faustino da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0573233540937425; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1291482506649810; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9685965969782429; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8761651920395877; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7402346165525365This thesis investigated the transformations of ecodesign from the perspective of the Science, Technology and Society (STS) field, analyzing the artifacts present in the solidarity economy fairs in Joinville, in the state of Santa Catarina. The research started from the following central question: how does design transform into ecodesign and what makes it a solidarity-based technoscience? The general objective was to understand the re-elaboration of design in the face of the contradictions of capitalist industrial society, configuring itself as a new technoscience of an engaged nature, according to the assumptions of the STS field. The theoretical foundation articulated Latour's "redesign" and "things in dispute," Winner's politics of artifacts, Singer's self-management, and Dagnino's Sociotechnical Adequacy (AST). Methodologically, an exploratory research with a qualitative approach was carried out, using Bardin's Content Analysis (thematic and categorical analysis), on data collected via participant observation and questionnaires. The field research took place in two phases: initially, observation with photographic records and sensitive listening, characterizing a preliminary approach to the object; subsequently, a questionnaire was applied. Both stages allowed for the identification of relevant findings, such as differences in the articulation and organization processes of the fairs, as well as similarities, highlighting female protagonism, engagement in social causes, and environmental awareness, evidenced by the use of recycled materials and raw materials from a sustainable perspective. Processes of socio-technical adaptation in product manufacturing tools and in sales and exhibition dynamics were also identified, such as the adaptation of stalls and parasols. The results revealed a significant female protagonism (87%) and the presence of intuitive ecodesign practices, based on the 5Rs and the reuse of textile and organic waste. However, the precariousness of the physical infrastructure of the fairs, the lack of institutional support in dissemination and communication with consumers, as well as the inadequacy of the stalls in the face of unstable weather conditions, became evident. The thesis proposes a transition to a Solidarity Ecodesign, indicating proactive public policies, such as the creation of resilient solidarity stalls, collective technoscience laboratories, logistical support, and institutional marketing plans. It concludes with the proposition of three major agendas—technoscientific, political, and solidarity—that aim to integrate cognitive sovereignty, socio-environmental justice, and self-management into the design process, reaffirming ecodesign as a tool for social transformation.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Determinação direta de fósforo disponível em solos utilizando laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Lima Filho, Mauro Henrique de; Pereira Filho, Edenir Rodrigues; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3394181280355442; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0649516139990288; Rodella, Arnaldo Antonio; Nóbrega, Joaquim de Araújo; Pereira Filho, Edenir Rodrigues; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3014901463394818; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8833989058164529; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3394181280355442Phosphorus is a vital element for sustaining life as we know it, being a constituent of nucleic acids, ATP, and cell membranes. Its proper availability in the soil is essential to achieving optimal crop yields, establishing it as a highly relevant macronutrient. Considering the advances in LIBS in recent decades, especially in soil analysis, this study aimed to explore methodologies to enable the quantification of this analyte in soil matrices. This work investigated the application of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) as an alternative to conventional chemical analysis for determining plant-available phosphorus in agricultural soils. Regression and classification models were developed using the AGLIBS 2.0 instrumentation from Agrorobótica to quantify and classify extractable phosphorus content directly in solid soil samples. A total of 393 samples were collected from the states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Goiás, prepared as pressed pellets for spectral acquisition. The LIBS data were correlated with results from the standard Mehlich-1 extraction method using ICP OES, which served as reference for model calibration and validation. Multivariate calibrations (MLR, PLS, PCR) outperformed univariate models, with validation standard errors around 19 mg/dm³. Classification approaches (KNN, SIMCA, and PLS-DA) achieved over 70% accuracy in discriminating agronomic phosphorus classes. Despite instrumental limitations and challenges in correlating LIBS signals to phosphorus availability, results suggest the technique’s potential as a complementary or alternative analytical tool for agronomic analysis. It presents advantages such as reduced chemical waste and faster analytical throughput.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Coorte RESPIRA: indicadores de saúde e qualidade de vida de docentes do ensino superior - um estudo brasileiro prospectivo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Triches, Maria Isabel; Mendes, Renata Gonçalves; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9634590922242052; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4683-2657; Sato, Tatiana de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3456494998257229; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8797-8981; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9585150764624635; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7606-8218; Fischer, Frida Marina; Fonseca, Marisa de Cássia Registro; Castro, Cristiane Shinohara Moriguchi de; Pires Di Lorenzo, Valéria Amorim; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0894690311392249; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2540334461029919; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4884773940352714; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9071791546812165; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9403-6300; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8187-5834; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6812-1771; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9804-7445This thesis investigated the factors associated with the quality of life of faculty members at public higher education institutions (HEIs) in Brazil, through a prospective cohort study with 954 participants. In the descriptive study of baseline data, daytime sleepiness, predisposition to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), psychosocial work factors, physical activity, and quality of life were evaluated, identifying a prevalence of 28.5% for excessive sleepiness, 40% with intermediate to high predisposition to OSA, a high prevalence of psychosocial risk, mainly for symptoms of stress (63.5%) and burnout (62.5%), and an estimated level of physical activity as active (39%). Among the domains and facets of quality of life, lower scores were observed for social relationships, sleep and rest, sexual activity, and leisure. In this longitudinal study, with six- and twelve-month follow-up, predictors of quality of life were investigated using multiple linear regression, revealing that psychosocial risks at baseline were negatively associated with all quality of life domains (physical, psychological, environmental and social relationships) assessed after one year. Furthermore, the main factor negatively associated with the physical and psychological domains was the number of medical diagnoses. Family income was positively associated with the outcome of the environmental domain, while the dimension of quantitative work demands showed a negative association with the social relationships domain. The results indicate that professors’ quality of life is determined by multiple individual and structural factors, highlighting the need for integrated interventions that promote physical, mental, and occupational health, including quality of life programs, health education, stress management, and institutional policies that reduce psychosocial risks. This thesis contributes to the advancement of knowledge about the health and quality of life of professors in public higher education institutions, offering support for the formulation of institutional strategies and practices by occupational physiotherapists or other occupational health and safety professionals, aimed at disease prevention, promoting quality of life, and ensuring the sustainability of teaching work.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Travessias de um professor e o encontro com uma cidadania insurgente: autoria, heurística e hermenêutica em/com/nos espaços/tempos de pesquisa-VIDA-formação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Frey, Henrique; Aygadoux, Bárbara Cristina Moreira Sicardi; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9746628149674449; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5097-459X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5907208797630717; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9326-0121; Lima, Alexandra Garcia Ferreira; Morais, Joelson de Sousa; Furlin, Marcelo; Brito, Solange Aparecida da Silva; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3937685552665813; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9184354605461860; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9664496095494377; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3930429127178776; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8285-471X; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1893-1316; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6282-3721; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5264-3011Dear colleagues, this doctoral thesis in education was developed at PPGEd-UFSCar-So, within Research Line 1 – Teacher Training, Daily Life and Educational Practices and NEPEN. The research presents the construction of a dialogue between popular knowledge, marked by ancestry, and the theoretical assumptions of the social sciences to support a thesis on educational practices and the constitution/implication of the self (Ricoeur, 1994). The proposal aims to understand the meanings of citizen education at the crossroads that integrate teaching, research and life with the subjects involved in the daily work of the school and the possibility of thus achieving the idea of authorship. In addition, this investigation has the specific objectives of a) studying the heuristic and hermeneutic dimensions in/of (auto)biographical narrative studies, b) analyzing the implications of the Pedagogical Charter as a narrative device in the (auto)biographical approach in relation to teaching practice and research; c) to bring into dialogue the ideas of author-citizen (Barbosa, 1998; 2000) and researcher-author-citizen (Brito, 2023) in a journey from the perspective of thinking about insurgent citizenship. The thesis, therefore, is the very journey constituted in a plural way that unveils the author, the citizen, and the insurgency. This non-hierarchical entanglement composes our craft (Mills, 1982), and will be crafted to reflect on the movement that seeks the self, the ego, and the other (Ricoeur, 1994). The proposal falls within the field of (auto)biographical narrative research and will utilize two research devices – Pedagogical Letters and (auto)biographical narratives – to present and discuss the nuances of the formative processes that make up this journey. The interwoven dialogues, our crossroads, in research, in training, in teaching, and in life should help to understand the ideas of authorship, citizenship, and insurgency – elements that guided the writing and self-discovery in the doctoral process in education. Freire and Ricoeur are references we use to mark, narrate, and understand the temporalities and meanings of these journeys. Narrating each of these processes allows us to see, through self-writing, the transitions, perceptions, and ruptures. The author-citizen-insurgent emerges from these intersecting encounters, from these crossroads, because it foresees the possibility of constructing singularities, authorship, and subjectivity beyond a citizenship based on the formalism of law. The Cr- and Co-rich alloys, such as Cr40Co40Ni20, present a favorable combination of two mechanisms: the FCC to HCP strain-induced phase transformation (TRIP effect), which provides improved ductility and toughness; and a high strengthening potential via grain refining, which significantly enhances its mechanical strength. Furthermore, interstitial doping with C or N can strengthen the alloy by inducing precipitation and microstructural refinement. However, according to recent review papers, the influence of these interstitial elements on TRIP effect and stacking fault energy (SFE) is still controversial, and the related explanation is not completely convincing. The objective of this work is to evaluate the interplay between interstitial doping, grain refinement, and TRIP effect. Firstly, in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction during tensile testing allowed us to observe and quantify the strain-induced transformation throughout the entire test. The results indicated that: in terms of stress, the critical stress for TRIP is proportional to the grain refinement strengthening; and in terms of strain, grain size has no obvious influence on TRIP effect. Then, the effect of C and N on phase equilibria, grain refinement capacity, and TRIP effect was evaluated. C-doping promoted the formation of M23C6 precipitates, which was highly effective in inducing grain refinement through the pinning mechanism, while N-doping did not promote the formation of nitrides, but also induced grain refinement to a lesser extent. Both C and N affected the extent of the TRIP effect by altering the SFE. The N addition disfavored the TRIP effect, while C addition did not show monotonic behavior, but higher C levels also disfavored TRIP effect. For these low SFE alloys, the martensitic HCP phase is transformed back into the FCC phase during heating (martensite reversion) by recrystallization of the FCC matrix, and not by a displacive or diffusional HCP to FCC transformation before recrystallization. These findings highlight the complex interplay of mechanisms governing the microstructure and deformation behavior of CrCoNi alloys.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O ensino de sexualidade em um curso de licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas: desafios e possibilidades na formação docente na UFSCar – Campus Araras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Camargo, Maristela Hefliger; Bozzini, Isabela Custódio Talora; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0853746645322544; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9293272966545562; Calzolari Neto, Anselmo João; Orofino, Rena de Paula; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4906309581958797; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9170866602840212Sexuality, as a constitutive dimension of human experience, permeates educational processes, influencing school relationships, identity construction, and pedagogical practices. Despite its relevance, topics related to sexuality, gender, and diversity remain secondary or absent in teacher education, including undergraduate programs in Biological Sciences, where, when present, approaches restricted to the biological field predominate. This absence in the teacher education certificate highlights a mismatch between the demands of a democratic, critical, and inclusive education and the content addressed in teacher education programs. In this context, this dissertation aims to investigate wheter and how topics related to sexuality are present in the program curriculum of the Teaching's Degree in Biological Sciences at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Araras campus. The study adopts a qualitative approach, characterized as documentary research, developed through the analysis of the Course Pedagogical Project (CPP), the curriculum matrix, and the course syllabi of 49 compulsory and 16 elective courses. The units of analysis investigated were the terms “sex,” “man,” “male,” “woman,” “female,” and “gender” searched for both in the CPP and in the course syllabi. Data analysis was carried out through systematic content categorization procedures, from which three analytical categories were constructed a posteriori: Does not address, Only mentions, and Addresses in depth. The results indicate a predominance of the Does not address category, observed in 43 compulsory and 12 elective courses. Among the compulsory courses, mentions were identified in Genetics, Philosophy and Sociology of Education, Basic Microbiology, Vertebrate Zoology, and Psychology of Adolescence and Psychosocial Problems, the latter being the only one classified under the Addresses in depth category. Among the elective subjects, Ecotoxicology and History and Epistemology of Science stand out, classified as Only mentions, while Dialogical Feminism showed the highest recurrence of the analyzed registration units and was classified as Addresses in-depth. Overall, the identified occurrences are sporadic and poorly articulated with broader educational objectives, reinforcing the predominance of a biologizing perspective on sexuality, even though there are curricular spaces with potential for more critical and integrated approaches. Finally, the study contributes to the debate on science teacher education by highlighting the need for possible program curriculum restructuring that promotes pedagogical practices committed to human rights, equity, and respect for diversity.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Controle de resíduos sólidos em ecossistemas hídricos urbanos suportado pela implantação de ecobarreiras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Moreira, Guilherme de Oliveira; Morales, Milton Vinicius; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3489124504372716; Valente, Roberta Averna; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1582627535733911; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5019930959658829; Santos, André Cordeiro Alves dos; Silva, Carolina Vieira da; Santos, Valter Monteiro de Azevedo; Santos, Luziany Queiroz; Morales, Milton Vinícius; Valente, Roberta Averna; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2131880667704281; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5261944912844021; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5960761283293203; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0132700686228726; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3489124504372716; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1582627535733911Solid waste, lack of basic sanitation, and water pollution negatively affect the quality of life in cities and their inhabitants, in addition to the deficiency of public policies aimed at local sustainable development, as most cities lack adequate infrastructure. The universalization of public services remains distant, considering that, even in the 21st century, a large portion of the Brazilian population does not have access to basic sanitation and 16% lacks treated water. Ecobarriers are structures designed to capture all types of floating waste that are improperly disposed of in watercourses. In this context, the general objective of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of ecobarriers in containing floating solid waste and protecting watercourses, considering environmental indicators and using Geographic Information Systems. The quantity of floating solid waste collected by the installed ecobarriers was determined for the period from July 2024 to March 2025, during which water samples were also collected to assess water quality. To measure the degree of environmental impact at the evaluated sites, based on the results obtained, the Callisto Protocol was applied. A surrounding evaluation area with a two-kilometer radius from the ecobarriers was defined, in which land use and land cover were mapped and classified into categories such as urban areas, forests, squares, and agricultural land. Regarding the total amount of waste collected, Avaré recorded the highest volume, totaling 106.26 kg, followed by Itaí with 105.472 kg and Arandu with 75.608 kg. In terms of gravimetric composition, 36.80% of the collected waste was plastic, followed by 33.78% of rejects and 29.42% of organic waste. Concerning the alterations identified through the Callisto Protocol, Arandu and Itaí were classified as “impacted,” while Avaré was classified as “altered.” Regarding land use and land cover maps, agricultural use predominates in Arandu and Itaí, whereas urban use is predominant in Avaré. In relation to the Urban Cleaning Sustainability Index (ISLU), Avaré showed better performance than Arandu due to its higher HDI, while Itaí presented the lowest result. Therefore, it is highlighted the need to expand monitoring across different hydrological periods, integrate ecobarriers into permanent environmental management and education programs, and deepen studies on the effects of land use and land cover on reducing waste input and improving the environmental quality of urban watercourses.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Da fogueira ao espaço reprodutivo: um estudo da teoria da diferença sexual em Silvia Federici(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-02-26) Salgado, Lívia Pereira; Pinto, Débora Cristina Morato; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1311151012002541; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9275640138043811; Moutinho, Luiz Damon Santos; Ramos, Silvana de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9475267722538751; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5970688893696378The present work examines the historical concrete meanings of the female body in the emergence of capitalism through the phenomenon of witch hunt in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Drawing on the work of Silvia Federici, it investigates how the fabrication of the modern woman was articulated to the processes of expropriation, disciplining, and the new organization of social reproduction in the context of primitive accumulation. By highlighting the structural entwinement between capitalism and patriarchy – particularly the centrality of violence in the production of the female body as a reproductive body functional to accumulation – Federici critically mobilizes three theoretical fields: Marxism, Foucauldian genealogy, and feminism. The dissertation argues that foucauldian genealogy, especially in its analytics of biopolitics, is indispensable for the analysis of the mechanisms of disciplining and normalization of bodies, yet insufficient to account for the historical production of the female body, insofar as it does not thematize the political economy of reproduction, relegating to the margins the repressive and destructive face of power.
