In line with national and international guidelines, this interdisciplinary approach has gained a new conceptual framework based on the proposal of the World Health Organization, which began to guide aging care based on the concept of intrinsic capacity, understood as the set of physical and mental capacities mobilized throughout the course of life. Objective: To identify the speech-language pathology aspects present in the assessment instruments for the older person used in PHC and to analyze their intersection with the domains of intrinsic capacity. Method: This is a qualitative, documentary, and interpretive study based on the analysis of four instruments recommended for use in PHC: Rapid multidimensional assessment fron Primary Care book No19, IVCF-20, AMPI-AB, and ICOPE. The data were extracted and organized into descriptive tables, categorized according to the five domains of intrinsic capacity (cognition, sensory functions, vitality, psychological state, and locomotion) and according to the areas of Speech-Language Pathology practice: language, audiology, orofacial motor skills, and voice. Results: The analyzed instruments address speech-language pathology aspects in four of the five domains of intrinsic capacity, with the exception of the psychological domain. The presence of items related to language, audiology (auditory and vestibular function), and orofacial motor skills, especially chewing and swallowing, stands out. However, a lack of systematic strategies for voice screening was observed, as well as the non-incorporation of communication as a specific domain, despite its transversality. Conclusion: Speech-Language Pathology is integrated in a relevant, but heterogeneous way, into the assessment instruments for older adults in Primary Health Care, showing direct alignment with four domains of intrinsic capacity. The failure to identify speech-language pathology changes early can compromise functionality and accelerate functional decline, reinforcing the importance of speech-language pathology intervention in promoting healthy aging and comprehensive care centered on the older person.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação da produção de pigmentos por microrganismos isolados de painéis fotovoltaicos: otimização do processo, influência da radiação UV e potenciais propriedades biotecnológicas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-03-03) Oliveira, Juliana Cristina Ramos de; Mendes-Silva, Tayane de Cássia Dias; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8965905860643791; Duarte, Iolanda Cristina Silveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2626035341263254; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8601620055560367; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9378-0880; Andrade, Rosileide Fontenele da Silva; Irazusta, Silvia Pierre; Souza, Clóvis Wesley Oliveira de; Carvalho, Cleoni dos Santos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6306166869610699; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5254817905474195; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0781683628437007; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7233550271936621Microbial pigments represent sustainable alternatives to synthetic dyes. The use of agro-industrial waste as substrates emerges as a promising strategy to reduce costs and increase the viability of the biosynthesis of these metabolites. Microorganisms adapted to extreme environments frequently synthesize pigments as a protective mechanism, making them relevant targets for biotechnological exploration. In this context, the cultivation conditions that favor pigment production by the strains Rhodotorula mucilaginosa PSR 34, Arthrobacter koreensis PSR 37, and Kocuria sp. PSR 51, previously isolated from photovoltaic panels in the city of Sorocaba/SP, an extreme artificial environment of anthropogenic origin, were investigated. Synthetic culture media, soybean molasses as an alternative substrate, incubation time, and temperature were evaluated. Additionally, the influence of UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C radiation on pigment production was determined. Soybean molasses did not prove to be a substrate with superior attributes compared to the use of synthetic media. Determining the ideal conditions revealed differences in the pigment production profile among the analyzed strains. PSR 37 showed the highest production at 15 °C, with 72 hours of incubation, reaching an average concentration of 958.66 µg/L. For PSR 34, the most favorable condition was 15 °C associated with 168 hours of incubation, resulting in 1.66 mg/L of pigment. In contrast, PSR 51 showed the highest production at 30 °C after 72 hours, with an average concentration of 610 µg/L. UV radiation, at the evaluated doses, did not promote an increase in pigment production. Spectral and chromatographic analyses of the PSR 34 pigment indicated the presence of β-carotene and torulene. These pigments demonstrated antimicrobial activity greater than 90% against the tested strains, at a concentration of 7.5 mg/L. Similarly, pigments extracted from PSR 37 and PSR 51 also demonstrated high antimicrobial activity at concentrations of 4.5 and 7.5 mg/L, respectively. All pigment extracts showed a photoprotective factor greater than 30 SPF. The antioxidant activity of the pigments was dependent on exposure time, showing DPPH radical scavenging capacity after 60 minutes of 56.07% for PSR 34, 76.9% for PSR 37, and 89.67% for PSR 51. Furthermore, the pigment extracts exhibited low cytotoxicity in 3T3 and HaCaT cells, maintaining cell viability greater than 50%. These results highlight the promising biotechnological potential of these pigments, reinforcing their relevance for future applications in different industrial sectors.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Efeitos do aumento de fluência do contato visual sobre a porcentagem de emissão, duração e latência desse comportamento em crianças com transtorno do espectro autista(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-03-03) Costa, Hiago Souza; Goyos, Antônio Celso de Noronha; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3407008711535651; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8579709781893016; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4002-2805; Domeniconi, Camila; Braga-Kenyon, Paula Ribeiro; Goyos, Antônio Celso de Noronha; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6372278578888726; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3407008711535651; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9684535663947328Reduced, absent, or atypical eye contact has been widely considered one of the indicators of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Beyond serving as a diagnostic marker, deficits in eye contact may lead to several difficulties throughout development, including limitations in social interactions and learning opportunities, impairments in joint attention, social referencing, and imitation, as well as delayed language development. Therefore, studies investigating effective procedures for teaching eye contact are needed. The present study aimed to apply an increased fluency teaching procedure and evaluate its effects on the percentage, latency, and duration of this response. A nonconcurrent multiple baseline design was employed. Five children with ASD, receiving services at a private clinic, participated in the study. The procedure consisted of six phases: preference assessment, baseline, eye contact teaching, return to baseline conditions, generalization, and maintenance. The results indicated that the procedure was effective in increased fluency of eye contact for all participants, with increases in response percentage and duration and reductions in latency. Performance was also maintained under conditions without programmed reinforcement and generalized to contexts different from the teaching environment. It is concluded that the investigated procedure represents a promising strategy for teaching eye contact, potentially supporting the development of attentional repertoires relevant to learning and social interaction.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Quando incentivos partidários aumentam chances de mulheres serem eleitas: análise das eleições municipais de 2024 aos executivos municipais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-03-03) Costa, Maria Eduarda Tencati da; Braga, Maria do Socorro Sousa; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2311094074614215; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2141-9778; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6705455127681708; https://orcid.org/0009-0000-7135-7216; Salles, Nara Oliveira; Casalecchi, Gabriel Ávila; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8366643327147882; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9759794253878555The underrepresentation of women in Brazilian politics persists as a structural democratic challenge, evidenced by the low occupation of women in municipal Executive positions. This dissertation investigates the role of political parties as gatekeepers and analyzes which party incentives increase the chances of women being recruited and elected as mayors in the 2024 elections. The research is based on the premise that the internal structure of parties and the distribution of resources are determinants in the supply of competitive candidacies. Methodologically, the study employs a quantitative approach based on data from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), applying Binary Logistic Regression models to test the impact of variables such as the presence of women in party leadership positions (president, general secretary, and treasurer), campaign finance, ideological spectrum, and municipality size. The results indicate that, while the predictive model for electoral success has limitations due to the complexity of voter behavior, structural variables are decisive in the recruitment stage. The analysis demonstrated that the presence of female leadership in municipal party bodies triples the chances of a woman becoming a candidate, confirming the hypothesis that internal inclusion boosts political supply. Furthermore, it was observed that public funding is the primary source for female campaigns, given the barrier to accessing private resources, and that small municipalities prove to be more fertile ground for the election of female mayors. It is concluded that political parties are the central variables in maintaining or breaking the gender status quo, operating filters that limit female competitiveness even before the election begins.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Cuidados paliativos pediátricos: atributos para uma rede de cuidado integral(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2026-03-03) Menegussi, Juliana Morais; Ogata, Márcia Niituma; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3274294833403570; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8390-7334; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8276084115249780; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8919-9092; Melo, Flávio Adriano Borges; Caccia-Bava, Maria do Carmo Guimarães; Barbosa, Silvia Maria de Macedo; Silva, Alexandre Ernesto da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2146448542549482; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0522394274209564; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3574378546334004; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6484765243984493; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5941-4855; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2523-1644; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2082-9521; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9988-144XPalliative care is understood as an approach that aims to improve the quality of life of adults and children, as well as their families, who face problems associated with health conditions that may limit or threaten the continuity of life. This approach seeks to prevent and alleviate suffering, whether physical, psychological, social, or spiritual in nature. This research is motivated and justified by the need to advance the current state of the pediatric palliative care approach, from the perspective of comprehensive and networked care. For that, action research was carried out as a methodological approach, anchored in the theoretical perspective of comprehensiveness. Six meetings were held with family members and palliative care professionals with the main objective of collectively building attributes for a pediatric palliative care network, from the perspective of comprehensiveness. The results highlight seven attributes to be considered in pediatric palliative care: child- and family-centered care, total pain management as the structuring axis of care, humanized health practices, guaranteed resources and access to technologies, networked care, integration among different policies and community networks, and qualification and support for healthcare work. The identified attributes reveal that a comprehensive pediatric palliative care network could be built through the articulation between lived suffering, ethical care practices, network organization, and political commitment, shaping a goal that transforms laws into lived rights and care into collective responsibility. May this research serve as an invitation to continue the debate, research, and political action in pediatric palliative care in our country.
