This fragmentation makes it difficult to identify technically equivalent instances and to objectively evaluate the cost-benefit ratio among offerings from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, for instance. This paper presents an architecture for collecting, normalizing, and analyzing virtual machine instance prices, combining data engineering and machine learning to support cloud resource comparison and selection decisions. The developed solution features a multi-cloud ETL pipeline capable of extracting public pricing and technical specification data, transforming heterogeneous structures into a common schema, and consolidating them into a unified relational database. The final dataset comprised 34,000 records of On-Demand and Spot instances, with approximately half of these used in the modeling experiments. Two complementary approaches were evaluated using this subset. The first employs clustering techniques to identify similar technical profiles among instances. The second uses regression models to estimate the hourly price of virtual machines. In the clustering phase, K-Means and Gaussian Mixture Model algorithms were compared, with K-Means selected for its superior grouping quality. In the regression phase, Linear Regression, Random Forest, and XGBoost models were evaluated, with XGBoost showing the best marginal performance. Based on the estimates produced by the selected regression model, a cost-benefit indicator was defined, relating an instance's observed price to the price predicted for its configuration. This indicator allows for the assessment of whether an instance is priced potentially below, near, or above the pricing standard learned from the catalog, complementing analyses based solely on absolute price. The integration of clustering, regression, and the cost-benefit indicator was demonstrated through conceptual scenarios focused on analyzing price alignment and identifying equivalent alternatives across providers. This study analyzes the regulatory and methodological panorama of atmospheric emissions at state, federal, and international levels, evaluating GHG management and reporting practices from the perspective of corporate sustainability in multinationals. The research, qualitative-descriptive in nature, is based on documentary and bibliographical research, articulating primary normative sources CONAMA Resolution No. 506/2024, State Decree No. 60.076/2025 (PMEA-CETESB), and Directive (EU) 2015/2193 (MCPD), international inventory methodologies, GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1—, and the 2025 annual sustainability reports of the multinationals Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) and Unilever PLC. The comparative analysis of the three jurisdictions shows convergences in the common objective of controlling local pollutants (Particulate Matter, $\text{SO}_2$, and $\text{NO}_x$) and relevant divergences in compliance deadlines, the stringency of technical emission limits, and regulatory philosophy—oscillating between the static enforcement paradigm predominant in the Brazilian federal sphere and the progressive continuous improvement approach adopted by both PMEA-CETESB and European regulation. At the corporate level, data verified by independent auditing demonstrate that AB InBev surpassed its emissions intensity target with a 31.9% reduction in Scopes 1, 2, and 3 against the 2017 baseline, while Unilever advances toward its operational neutrality target (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030, with a 77% reduction already accumulated relative to the 2015 baseline. Both corporations adopt the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) as a transparency standard, signaling convergence between regulatory requirements and market practices. This work proposes and evaluates a synthetic data generation pipeline for the Amive corpus, composed of anonymous social media posts annotated with depression symptoms, aiming to enable the public distribution of a functional corpus without exposing the original texts of the users who produced them. The pipeline combines machine translation via a language model (Portuguese to English and back-translation to Portuguese), paraphrase generation with the PEGASUS model through diverse beam search, and selection of the best candidate paraphrase based on semantic similarity computed by BERTScore, using BERTimbau as the representation model. The evaluation of the generated synthetic corpus, focused on the Sadness/Depressed Mood symptom, is conducted along two complementary lines: an extrinsic evaluation, in which binary classifiers of different natures (Logistic Regression, SVM, Naive Bayes, and Random Forest) are trained and tested across four scenarios combining original and synthetic data; and an intrinsic evaluation, based on lexical diversity metrics and the part-of-speech distribution of the generated corpus, complemented by a qualitative analysis of representative examples. Results indicate that the synthetic corpus largely preserves the utility of the original corpus for the classification task, with particular emphasis on recall, a metric considered more critical in mental health screening applications, where failing to identify a positive case tends to be more costly than a false alarm. However, a more consistent drop in precision is observed for classifiers trained exclusively on synthetic data when evaluated on real data, along with evidence that part of the lexical diversity introduced stems from a tendency of the pipeline to prune content in syntactically complex sentences, rather than from genuine reformulation alone. The qualitative analysis further reveals recurring patterns of discursive nuance loss, such as the depersonalization of autobiographical accounts and the literalization of metaphorical constructions. However, the replacement of play with screen-mediated activities has raised concerns among health professionals, considering that this reality, when associated with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis, can exacerbate issues related to attention, language, motor coordination, and social interaction. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the repercussions of this situation on the play of this population. Objective: To investigate the use of screens in the daily routines of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) aged 2 to 5 years and 11 months, and how this impacts their play. Method: A descriptive-exploratory study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, involving the administration of a semi-structured questionnaire to parents/guardians. Quantitative data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlational analysis. Qualitative data will be analyzed through content analysis, with responses being categorized and interpreted to identify patterns. Results: The results indicate an early introduction to and intense use of screens, with a significant portion of the children exceeding three hours of daily use. It is observed that device usage frequently replaces traditional play and influences play activities. Furthermore, caregivers present ambivalent perceptions: they acknowledge some benefits but highlight negative behavioral and emotional impacts. However, it is highly susceptible to pathogens that compromise postharvest quality, such as the fungus Geotrichum citri-aurantii, the causal agent of sour rot in citrus fruits, resulting in significant losses in fruit quality and marketability. In Brazil, there are currently no registered products for the control of this pathogen. Given this scenario, natural products have been investigated as an alternative for disease management. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the in vitro activity of the essential oils of Pêra orange, clove, cinnamon, and lemongrass against G. citri-aurantii. In vitro assays were conducted to evaluate the antifungal effect of essential oils extracted from dried flower buds (clove), mature fruit peels (Pêra orange), dried trunk bark (cinnamon), and fresh leaves (lemongrass). Concentrations of 0.25, 0.50, 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 μL mL⁻¹, along with a negative control (without essential oil), were incorporated into Potato Dextrose Agar medium to evaluate changes in hyphal morphology, inhibition of mycelial growth, sporulation, and conidial germination of G. citri-aurantii. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design using a 4 × 7+1 factorial arrangement. The essential oils of clove, cinnamon, and lemongrass exhibited satisfactory antifungal activity against the pathogen. Cinnamon essential oil stood out by providing high inhibition of mycelial growth (92.74%) even at the lowest concentrations tested (0.25 μL mL⁻¹), followed by clove essential oil (61.77%), whereas lemongrass essential oil was effective from 1 μL mL⁻¹ onward (70.52%). In contrast, Pêra orange essential oil showed no antifungal activity against the pathogen, promoting its development at concentrations of 8 and 16 μL mL⁻¹ (−21.22% and −36.18%, respectively). The objective of this research work was to identify superior hybrid genetic material of pepper plants of the species C. baccatum, through plant architecture and yield parameters, as well as fruit morphometry and quality. The hybrids were grown in a protected system in pots with fertigation. The development of intraspecific hybrids in Capsicum baccatum proved to be a highly viable strategy to overcome the technological scarcity in the Brazilian pepper sector. In this context, coordination complexes have attracted increasing interest as potential anticancer agents because of their unique structural and electronic properties, which enable mechanisms of action distinct from those of conventional organic drugs. At the same time, computational chemistry has become an essential tool for rational drug design by enabling the investigation of molecular properties, prediction of interactions with biological targets, and estimation of thermodynamic parameters relevant to pharmacological activity. This monograph presents a literature review on the application of coordination complexes in cancer treatment, with emphasis on platinum-based compounds and the limitations associated with their toxicity and tumor resistance. In addition, the main computational approaches used to model these systems are discussed, including density functional theory, molecular mechanics, molecular dynamics, and free energy calculations, highlighting the challenges related to the parameterization of transition metals in classical force fields. In Brazil, studies employing participatory methodology and Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) are in their early stages, and the processes used have not yet been systematically evaluated. Objectives: To conduct a cross-cultural adaptation of the Public and Patient Engagement Evaluation Tool (PPEET)—specifically the participant questionnaire—into Brazilian Portuguese, and to describe the experiences of a group of young people with Cerebral Palsy (CP) involved in participatory research. Methodology: An observational study with a methodological and qualitative approach. The cross-cultural adaptation of the PPEET involved the following stages: a) evaluation of the previously translated version of the PPEET by a committee of eight experts; b) testing of the pre-final version with three representatives of the target audience; and c) verification and approval of the final Portuguese version by the instrument's authors. To explore perspectives on involvement, nine young people with CP who had experience with participatory research were invited; two of them participated in formulating the five questions addressing this objective via a semi-structured interview. Results: The cross-cultural adaptation of the PPEET resulted in semantic adjustments—regarding comprehensibility, scope, and relevance—to 12 items (7 from Module A and 5 from Module B) by the expert committee; these adjustments received official approval from the instrument's original authors. During the testing of the pre-final version with three representatives of the target audience, 87.75% of the questions were considered entirely clear. In the qualitative phase, 100% of the young people with CP reported positive perceptions regarding their involvement in participatory research, highlighting feelings of personal empowerment, social and professional impacts, and an understanding of scientific research. Participants also emphasized the importance of non-monetary returns based on social visibility, respect, and access to study results in plain language. Conclusion: The adapted version of the PPEET was deemed suitable for use with the Brazilian population. This work aimed to validate the physicochemical foundations of MD by evaluating how classical statistical mechanics represents the physiological environment. To this end, a simulation of a B-DNA dodecamer, the natural form of DNA in a physiological medium, for the d(CGCGATATCGCG) strand in aqueous solution was performed using the GROMACS software. The system was modeled with the AMBER99SB-ILDN force field and TIP3P explicit solvent. The simulation involved energy minimization, thermodynamic equilibration in the NVT and NPT ensembles, and trajectory acquisition. Solvent parameters agree with the literature for biological systems, although the solvent exhibits a high diffusion coefficient. The Root Mean Square Deviation (RMSD) indicated the stability of the double helix over time, without denaturation of the macromolecule. Additionally, the Radial Distribution Function (RDF) showed that Mg²⁺ ions concentrate around the phosphate groups of the nucleic acids at the center of the DNA, with an average distance of 0.38 nm. These values corroborate crystallographic data and quantum-mechanical calculations described in the literature. This work presents a bibliographic review on noble metal nanoparticles, with a main focus on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). AuNPs are discussed mainly as platforms for surface functionalization and drug delivery, owing to their colloidal stability, optical properties and versatile surface modification. AgNPs are addressed with emphasis on antimicrobial activity, considering mechanisms such as bacterial surface adhesion, membrane permeability disruption, reactive oxygen species generation and Ag+ release. Aspects related to synthesis, characterization, drug loading, functionalization and biological translation are also discussed. The review shows that the performance of these systems is not determined only by the metallic core, but by the set of structural and colloidal parameters that define their interaction with cells, proteins, microorganisms and biological media. In an effort to understand these relationships, traditional linear models are widely used to identify and quantify interactions between variables. However, as the number of variables and potential interactions increases, these models face limitations, such as increased dimensionality, risk of overfitting, and the selection of interaction effects that do not satisfy the hierarchical relationship between main effects and interaction effects. In this context, regularized regression techniques, such as LASSO, have emerged as promising alternatives because they enable automatic variable selection and produce simpler and more interpretable models. Hierarchical LASSO, in particular, represents an important advancement, as it imposes structural constraints that ensure consistency in the inclusion of interaction effects, leading to more reliable results. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationships between dietary and lifestyle variables associated with insulin resistance by evaluating the effectiveness of Hierarchical LASSO in identifying factors associated with the HOMA-IR index. To this end, both a theoretical and an applied analysis were conducted using a real-world dataset and the R statistical software. The enhancement of this property has been associated with a higher density of tie molecules between adjacent crystalline lamellae, which tends to increase with the content of short-chain branching (SCB) in the polymer. On the other hand, an increase in the SCB contend tends to reduce the degree of crystallinity of the polymer, and the GRI GM13 standard also establishes requirements for density and yield stress, which are favored by a higher degree of crystallinity, consequently, a balance of properties necessary. In this context, the objective of this work was the development of blends of linear medium-density polyethylene (LMDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), with higher SCB content, for use in geomembranes, with emphasis on ESCR. For this purpose, LMDPE blends with 5, 10, and 15 wt% LLDPE were evaluated, as well as samples of their neat components. After extrusion, the samples were compression-molded into plaques, and density, thermal fractionation, tensile strength, and ESCR tests were conducted. The results indicated good compatibility between the blend components, evidenced by the additive behavior of density and tensile mechanical properties, along with a significant increase in ESCR for LLDPE contents above 10 wt%. Thermal fractionation by DSC suggested predominantly independent crystallization, indicating that co-crystallization, if present, was limited. In this context, soybean (Glycine max) and corn (Zea mays) crops stand out. Therefore, ensuring the planting of viable seeds is essential for good productivity. The high quality of the seeds used directly contributes to good production; thus, the methods used to evaluate seed viability represent a crucial step for the success of agribusiness in Brazil and for ensuring that germination quality is guaranteed for producers. In this regard, there are tests aimed at verifying the germinative viability of seeds, such as the standard germination test and the tetrazolium test. However, these tests can be destructive and are performed using samples, which may increase the imprecision of the results. Thus, a method for analyzing germination quality that is non-destructive, rapid, and capable of analyzing seeds individually is desirable. This undergraduate thesis aimed to analyze the BioSpeckle Laser technique, whose desired characteristics mentioned above may be achieved. This technique uses a laser that scatters or transmits a beam of light. The reflection of the laser light on the plant tissue was collected by a CCD camera and stored for processing, which was performed using a specific algorithm. Quantitative data were obtained through the “Moment of Inertia” (MI) determination technique for image processing, as it makes it possible to analyze the biological activity of the material through the determination of the MI index and to identif abnormalities in cell functioning, thus verifying the viability and quality of a seed. The test specimens consisted of soybean and corn seeds that were stored under ideal and non-ideal conditions, causing variations in germination quality among the seeds. The results obtained were analyzed using graphs and statistical tests, such as analysis of variance (ANOVA). In the context of continuous variables, we use the vibrational modes of the ions as bosonic degrees of freedom and show how different choices of frequencies, detunings, and phases of the applied fields enable the realization of single- and two-mode Gaussian operations, as well as non-Gaussian operations of the \emph{trisqueezing} and Kerr types. These operations are numerically validated by comparing the evolution produced by the full interaction Hamiltonian with the ideal target states. In particular, we incorporate the dependence of the Rabi frequency on the phonon number into the description of the Kerr interaction and employ this operation as the non-Gaussian element of a quantum neural network applied to classical function regression tasks and to the variational preparation of unstructured quantum states in the Fock basis. In the context of digital quantum computing, we formulate a product allocation problem for gravity-flow racks as an unconstrained quadratic binary optimization problem, map it onto an Ising-type Hamiltonian, and implement a version of the Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm adapted to the operations available on a trapped-ion processor, thereby enabling an analysis of the current possibilities and limitations of variational algorithms applied to an industrial problem. In addition to their application to computing, we investigate trapped ions as a platform for the controlled study of physical phenomena. In this context, we analyze an interference mechanism between interactions produced by electromagnetic and mechanical waves, mediated by the electronic and vibrational degrees of freedom of the ions. We show how the relative phase between these interactions can enhance or cancel electronic population transfer and extend this description to ion chains subjected to propagating mechanical pulses. This study highlights the role of the ion as a common material system capable of coupling waves of different natures and allows interference to be discussed in terms of the transition amplitudes produced in the system responsible for their detection. The research highlights that the most significant contribution within the body of work of Fábio Luz, a renowned figure in the anarchist movementlies in the realm of libertarian education. This process began with his 1888 medical thesis, “Hypnotismo e Livre Arbitrio” (Hypnotism and Free Will), presented to the Faculty of Medicine of Bahia. His work addresses social categories crucial to the social fabric: workers, women, and children. We hypothesize that education in Fábio Luz’s work is infused with concepts from social psychology. We aim to fill gaps in existing biographies of Fábio Luz, treating him as an intellectual, educator, and thinker concerned with social issues such as unemployment and ethnic-racial inequality. His novels, novellas, short stories, and pamphlets are rich in social criticism and are geared toward political activism and professional engagement with the working class. We emphasize that his activities unfolded amid conflicts with other intellectuals dynamics best understood through the concepts of "social field" and "habitus" developed in Pierre Bourdieu's theory (1864-1938). We present the Faculty of Medicine of Bahia through the lens of progressive education grounded in innovations from German philosophy and highlight the factors that shaped the medical profession in Brazil. Consequently, the study of psychiatry shifted from a neuropsychiatric focus toward social psychology. Fábio Luz’s writings on the working class enable analysis of this demographic along the Rio-São Paulo axis, particularly in the context of anarcho-socialist social movements. The lives of these workers underscore the importance of Fábio Luz’s social novels within the framework of modernity in First Republic Brazil. To address this concept, we draw upon Weberian studies regarding social action and the Protestant ethic of capitalism. About women, Fábio Luz even without having the standing to speak on the issue- writes about female freedom, expressing views closely aligned with the contemporary feminist movement. Fábio Luz’s work treats the child as an autonomous social category capable of thinking, feeling, and reacting. By the time Fábio Luz published his schoolbooks (between 1911 and 1917), children's narratives already showed a certain level of care, yet the texts lacked a secular approach; Fábio Luz pioneered this secular perspective during that specific period. This study is grounded in biographical and theoretical research with document analysis, drawing primarily on primary sources such as Fábio Luz’s books and pamphlets. The theoretical framework converges Norbert Elias's configurational sociology, Bernard Charlot's theory of the relationship to knowledge, and Jorge Larrosa Bondía's perspective on the knowledge of experience, moving away from determinist readings to apprehend academic success as a dynamic and subjective process. Methodologically, the qualiquantitative research, along with utilizing data from the Unified Public Administration System (SUAP) for an initial filtering, employed three complementary data collection tools: questionnaires administered to 27 students and, following a sample refinement, in-depth interviews and the elaboration of knowledge balances with 13 students, seeking to apprehend, from the interviewees' own perspective, the factors contributing to academic success, as well as the subjects' relationship as co-authors of their learning processes. The longitudinal analysis allowed classifying the trajectories into three macro-configurations: consonant, where domestic practices resonate with school demands; dissonant, characterized by identity tensions propelling self-restraint through refusal or authorized emancipation; and of temporality, marked by interruption processes and by the sense of urgency in the return of adults to subsequent education. Through a cross-sectional synthesis effort, the investigation revealed that the academic success of students from working-class backgrounds in technical high school results from the inseparable articulation between the provision of technical knowledge, conferring practical orientation to life projects, and the construction of a sense of belonging within the institutional space. Such a dynamic is sustained within the configurations of these trajectories, in which the web of prior familial and school functions (predominantly performed by women) has acted and continues to act as a fundamental mediator of self-restraint and the management of expectations. It is within this interdependence that the student finds the necessary support to convert technical training into an identity project, allowing school demands to be assimilated as a guidance process, consolidating success through the stabilization of the webs of interdependence that connect knowledge, school history, and the family. It is concluded that school persistence and success among the investigated working-class groups were sustained through the transformation of external coercions into stable self-restraint. This process was initially enabled primarily by these 'invisible' articulators, which allowed students to resignify the meaning of learning and open themselves to the knowledge of experience that touches, traverses, and emancipates the subjects.
