Abstract
The diversity of educational contexts presented by face-to-face and distance education enables English teachers not only to choose and adopt didactic materials that are available for purchase, but also to evaluate and adapt an existing material or even produce their own teaching materials. Having such context in mind, this study brings an analysis and presents considerations about the question of authenticity in the production of didactic materials for face-to-face and distance teaching and learning processes, and the relation between authenticity and teaching materials with copyright issues.
