The theme of technological innovation has gained increasing prominence in this capitalist, globalized and competitive scenario from the beginning of the XXI century. The development of technological indicators from patent documents is essential for decision-making more rational and sustainable about technology management. This study aimed to develop patents indicators in nanotechnology applied to agribusiness. For this, they were collected, processed and treated the bibliographic information of patent documents relating to the subjectnanotechnology applied to agribusiness contained in the database Derwent Innovations Index (DII) in the period 2000 to 2009. The bibliometric analysis was used as the method with the support of the Vantage Point software. The results were: 1] patent indicators that indicate which companies and leading institutions in patenting in this area, in particular the application of sensors and devices, and pesticides 2] indicators on technology trends in the sector and; 3] Indicators on the geographical distribution of nanotechnology applied to agribusiness. It is concluded that these results can contribute to decision-making more rational and sustainable in the context of innovation policy of the country.
