Análise dos fatores físico-químicos que influenciam a durabilidade da resina epóxi como revestimento de piso residencial
Abstract
The floor coating made with epoxy resin, popularly known as liquid porcelain, is an unconventional alternative for coating for residential use which, being a relatively new and uncommon technique, presents poor technical and scientific information dissipated in the civil construction sector. This type of coating requires knowledge not only of the technical part such as the application process, but also of the properties, characteristics, and structure of the polymeric resin, which can directly influence the durability and quality of this finish. In this work, a technical and scientific analysis of the main physicochemical factors of the epoxy resin and other intrinsic factors that influence the durability and the appearance of anomalies in the liquid porcelain was carried out. The main anomalies and their possible causes were also surveyed, in addition to the minimum requirements that the coating must meet to obtain good durability. As a conclusion of the study, technical factors such as application process, service conditions, suitability for use and specialized labor were obtained; and scientific factors of epoxy resin such as choice and formulation of resin and hardener, factors influencing the curing process, temperature and viscosity. All these factors influenced the final properties of the finish, which may or not favor the appearance of premature anomalies and, consequently, reduce the overall quality and durability of the liquid porcelain.
