Empreendedorismo e universidade: uma análise das competências empreendedoras em estudantes do curso de engenharia de materiais da UFSCar
Abstract
This research aims to understand the scenario of entrepreneurship among students of the materials engineering course at the Federal University of São Carlos. For this, a bibliographic and empirical research was carried out, through the elaboration of a questionnaire to be answered by students and graduates of the course who had started their studies between 2009 and 2019. In addition, statistical techniques were used to read the data and produce inferences that could answer the question: What is the role of the university in the preparation and aid for the development of entrepreneurial skills in its undergraduate students? It is known that the current scenario increases the requirements for qualified professionals, able to deal with the constant economic and social challenges, and that present entrepreneurial and innovation characteristics. In this sense, the guidelines of higher education have placed these points as objectives to be achieved in the courses. However, only this mention in official documents is not sufficient to achieve these goals, and it is necessary to evaluate, in practice, whether this has occurred, and by what means. Thus, this research has relevance because it is an attempt to analyze the effectiveness of the formative objectives in a specific space, of the materials engineering course of UFSCar. There was an advance in the acquisition of entrepreneurial capacities of students, despite the existence of challenges still to be overcome within the university.
