dc.description.abstract | The fraternal complex consists, succinctly, in the psychic organization of a subject facing another that he recognizes as a brother or sister, involving a complex dynamic of identifications, relational positions, etc. Understanding that this complex plays a structuring role in the psychic organization, this research, of a qualitative nature, aimed to bring a greater understanding of how the figure of the older brothers can act in the formation of the younger brother's subjectivity. It was carried out through the free association narrative interview method with two participants. In this study, despite the research method limitations, it was possible to be in contact with elements of the fraternal complex in the participants narrative: what this complex has to do with the younger brother's ego, how the fraternal complex helps to form the ego ideal and relates to object choices and the general family context. That was made through narrative observation of identifications and oppositions. It was possible to contribute, at least for one of the participants, for an active reflection of the sibling’s relationship, bringing repercussions on her relationship with her brother. | eng |
