Uma introdução aos espaços métricos e aos espaços vetoriais normados
Abstract
In this work, we present an introduction to Metric Spaces, starting with the definition and examples, defining and understanding the primary concepts of this context, such as open and closed balls, open and closed sets as well as their main properties. context, such as open and closed balls, open and closed sets, as well as their main properties. Next, we define and study convergence of sequences in metric spaces. Based on our studies of sequences, we define complete metric spaces. The final part of the work gives an introduction to compact spaces and the definition of normed spaces.
