Abstract
The History of Mathematics is an extremely relevant field of knowledge and presents a wealth that varies between great scientific discoveries and cultural contributions between East and West. Often forgotten in everyday school life, it can serve as inspiration and motivation in the teaching-learning process of different content. The purpose of this Course Completion Work (TCC) was to present a little of the journey taken, from the beginning of civilization to the discovery of complex (imaginary) numbers, understanding and rescuing the importance of mathematical knowledge and its thinkers.
