This work presents and discusses results of the effects of doping on rare earth-doped nanosize SnO2, obtained using the polymeric precursor method and prepared at different annealing temperatures. Only the cassiterite phase was observed for the rare earth-doped SnO2. Structural and morphological studies in pure and rare earthdoped tin dioxide were performed in samples. The rare earth-doped SnO2 showed high stability against particle growth at temperatura below 1000 0C. A doped-rich surface layer was used to control the particle size and stabilize SnO2 against particle growth. It showed that the modification of the nanosized structure and the composition of particles lead to interesting selectivity changes for the methanol decomposition and was reported the catalytic performance of earth-doped materials on methyl-vinyl-ketone formation. NOx gas-sensing as well as electrical properties have been investigated.
