Abstract
Institutional repositories play a significant role in the organization, storage, dissemination and preservation of the intellectual production of HEIs, promoting open access in addition to providing data that can be used to generate indicators relating to scientific production and the performance of institutions. In the Brazilian context, while much research has been dedicated to the creation of repositories, attention focused on exploring these repositories as indicator-generating tools is still limited. This study focuses precisely on this aspect, by
conceiving indicators on the intellectual production of UFSCar from its Institutional Repository (RI UFSCar) through the bibliometric analysis of 17,474 bibliographic records
of items deposited in the collections of Theses and Dissertations, TCC, Data from Research and Articles until June 2023. It was used to visualize indicators from the Looker Studio tool. The analysis revealed a deficiency regarding the completeness of the informational objects deposited in the RI UFSCar, identifying possible challenges associated with the topic. In conclusion, it was evident that the procedure used presents itself as a solution for obtaining and viewing indicators in repositories and is an element capable of contributing to the improvement of IR initiatives, in particular the monitoring of their completeness and to increase the institution’s visibility.
