Resumo

Pollinator conservation is widely recognized as essential for biodiversity maintenance and food production, and educational strategies based on hands-on experiences have proven effective in fostering socio-environmental awareness. In this context, this study aimed to synthesize evidence on the educational use of native social bees in Brazil and, based on these findings, support an applied proposal within a university territory. A systematic review was conducted according to PRISMA 2020 guidelines, including searches in national databases and gray literature from 2010 to 2025, using descriptors related to educational meliponiculture, science teaching, and environmental education. After screening, eligibility assessment, and application of inclusion and exclusion criteria, 18 studies comprised the final corpus and were qualitatively analyzed through thematic categorization. The findings revealed consistent educational outcomes, such as increased scientific literacy, strengthened pro-environmental attitudes, enhanced interdisciplinary learning, and high student engagement in investigative and extension-based activities. Recurring limitations were also observed, particularly regarding institutional continuity, colony maintenance, and technical training for monitors. Based on these results, a feasible technical and budgetary proposal was developed for a permanent educational space on campus, including safety and management guidelines, an educational-extension plan, an implementation timeline, and cost estimates supported by public price quotations. The study concludes that educational initiatives involving native social bees are robust tools for critical environmental education and pollinator conservation, provided they are supported by technical planning and institutional long-term commitment.
