O ensino, pesquisa, extensão e permanência como pilares no curso de medicina: uma narrativa reflexiva

Abstract

This is a history of the journey of a quota student in an elite medical program at a federal educational institution who faced several setbacks during his undergraduate studies, the most aggravating of which was his student retention. However, it is also a beautiful journey that permeates personal, professional, and scientific growth, interspersed with experiences that touch on important issues such as mental health and belonging. The appreciation of small acts is evident throughout the growth and difficulties experienced. Insecurities are addressed in a relaxed yet reflective manner, leading the reader to consider, if possible, their privileges and classes that go beyond those typically found within medicine.
