Análise dos aspectos normativos e legais do uso de fotografias contidas em teses e dissertações disponíveis na BDTD/IBICT

Abstract

O presente estudo investigou a apropriação de fotografias contidas em teses e dissertações coletadas na BDTD/IBICT, tendo como princípio de suas reflexões a fase atual da Socie-dade da Informação, caracterizada por trocas e reusos inten-sos de informações. Nesse cenário, o usuário da informação necessita conscientizar-se da forma como se apropria da in-formação, buscando pautar-se em um comportamento ético. Tal comportamento envolve o conhecimento de como diver-sos conteúdos estão disponíveis na Internet, o conhecimento da lei que regula os direitos de autor e os usos das obras inte-lectuais no Brasil e o conhecimento das normas de citação e referências. Os métodos utilizados para o desenvolvimento do trabalho foram a pesquisa bibliográfica e a pesquisa do-cumental. Constatou-se que há uma baixa utilização de foto-grafias em domínio público e que, em alguns casos, as orien-tações das normas não foram seguidas.ABSTRACT This study investigated the appropriation and use of photo-graphs contained in theses and dissertations collected from the BDTD / IBICT, starting with reflections on the current phase of the information society, characterized by intense information exchange and use. In this scenario, information users need to be increasingly aware of how information is appropriated for reuse, seeking to base themselves in ethical behaviour. Such behaviour involves knowledge of how various types of content are made available on the Internet, knowledge of the law governing copyright and (re)use of intellectual works in Brazil, and knowledge of the citation and reference standards. The methods used for development of this study were the bibliographic and documentary research. It was found that there is low use of photographs found in the public domain and, in some cases, the normative standards for citation were not followed.
