Uma dialética inesiana: entre a história e a ficcionalização em Os Lusíadas

Abstract

Starting from the literary representation of Inês de Castro in "Os Lusíadas," this paper seeks to understand the relationships between the biographical data of Inês available at the time and the process of her fictionalization in Camões' work. The portrayal of Inês is achieved through poetic and metaphorical language that diverges from the standard used by the epic narrator to describe the famous deeds of the Lusitanian people. In this sense, the aim is to unravel the development of the blend between the literary character created by Camões and the historical figure derived from her biographical characteristics.
