Sinergias entre turismo rural e agroecologia: uma alternativa em propriedades agroecológicas

Abstract

Considering the municipality of Socorro, Sao Paulo state, with its strong tourism potential and agricultural vocation, this research examines the synergies between rural tourism and agroecology as an alternative for adding value to family farming. The methodology combined a bibliometric analysis with structured and semi-structured interviews conducted with smallholders. The bibliometric analysis revealed a growing theoretical interest after 2018, highlighting tourism’s potential for generating income and promoting environmental and cultural preservation. The interviews likewise recognized its economic, social, and ecological potential, but also pointed to practical challenges such as labor availability, infrastructure, and time constraints. The study concludes that tourism represents a viable opportunity for value addition, but its success depends on careful planning, supportive policies, and attention to local specificities.
