Introduction: The definition of Buen Vivir (Good Living) entails a complex, non-linear notion, historically constructed and constantly re-signified. It is not limited to a theoretical elaboration, but derives from a cosmovivence, which holds particular relevance within the context of Abya Yala frameworks. The concept of Buen Vivir has been gaining prominence in the academic field, especially in areas such as social sciences, anthropology, sociology, education, and economics. With regard to occupational therapy, few studies have been identified that seek to establish connections with this theme. In this context, a study was proposed aiming to understand how Buen Vivir is conceptualized within occupational therapy. Objective: To understand the perspectives of occupational therapists regarding Buen Vivir. Methodology: This study is characterized as a literature review, combined with the proposition of dialogues with authors of works that mention Buen Vivir in their productions, through semi-structured interviews. Thus, the research procedures were organized into two stages: (1) a survey of the literature on Buen Vivir and occupational therapy in databases and academic journals; and (2) the selection of five authors, occupational therapists with publications related to the topic, and their invitation to participate in semi-structured interviews. Results and discussion: The literature review resulted in the selection of 26 publications, including articles, books, and academic works. The synthesis of the results shows that the concept of Buen Vivir in occupational therapy literature is still limited in scope. Although the term appears in texts from different practice contexts and territories, its use is more often observed as an ethical and political inspiration rather than as a clearly defined or conceptually articulated framework. The interviews with the authors revealed relevant paths for deepening the debate, enabling the identification of thematic categories that intersect professional practices with Buen Vivir, particularly in relation to collective practices, everyday life, and human and social rights. Final considerations: It was identified that the incorporation of Buen Vivir in the literature suggests an initial process of integration into the field, requiring greater analytical depth in order to move beyond its rhetorical use and, potentially, contribute as a critical framework articulated with knowledge produced in Abya Yala.
