Reflexões a partir da experiência: Psicologia Escolar e os impactos do fechamento das escolas na pandemia de COVID-19

Abstract

Based on experiences in a public school located in the countryside of São Paulo, this article aims to reflect on the challenges faced in the field of education both before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. School and Educational Psychology is present as a theoretical framework to aid in understanding the chronic challenges faced in Education, as well as the effects of school closures during the pandemic. Before the pandemic, the curriculum taught in classrooms did not align with the contemporary demands of society, as it was based on an outdated school model from a different era. Amid the school closures enforced due to the threat of COVID-19 transmission in educational institutions, the school community faced numerous challenges. The absence of physical and emotional support structures for students during this period can significantly impact the dynamics of relationships when schools reopen.
