In this dissertation we propose four models to model lifetime data. The fist family of distribution is called Exponentiated Complementary Exponential Geometric distribution (ECEG) and it is obtained by exponentiation of the cumulative distribution of the Complementary Exponential Geometric distribution (CEG) proposed by Louzada et al. (2011) to a new parameter α > 0. The second distribution is used to model lifetime when the population is not homogeneous about the risk of death and it has two subpopulation: one composed by individuals not susceptible by the event and other composed by individuals subjected to the risk. This model, called LECEG, has a long term parameter p related to the proportion of individuals out of risk. The third is the Exponentiated Exponential Geometric (EEG) that uses the same idea of the ECEG, and the fourth is the Exponentiated Complementary Exponential Geometric distribution under N systems (ECEGN) presented in a context of N independent working systems and the fails occurs when some of them fail.

In order to simulate the photoinduced electron-transfer steps in the photosystem II (PSII), the mononuclear complexes fac-[Mn(CO)3(phen)(L)]+, L= imidazole and substituted imidazoles were synthesized to mimic the photochemical step of the natural photosynthesis (manganese cluster). Also the binuclear complexes [Ru(BL2)2Mn(CO)3(phen)]3+, BL2 = bridge ligand (4'-(4- pyridyl)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine e 4'-(4-pyridyl)-2,6-di(2-pirazynil)pyridine) and polynuclear complexes cis,fac-[(phen)2Ru(BL)2Mn(CO)3(L)]2 6+, BL = bridge ligand (4,4'-bipyridine e pyrazine) were synthesized to mimic the donor step (Chlorophylla P680 - manganese cluster) in natural photosynthesis. The new complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopic (EPR, UVvis, FTIR, NMR) and electrochemical (cyclic voltammetry and spectroelectrochemistry) techniques. The complex fac- [Mn(CO)3(phen)(4meim)]+ (fac-4meim) in aqueous solution and in the absence of oxidizing agents is able to split water molecules producing molecular oxygen. The photo-redox process involves 4-electron/4H+ mechanism in a similar way of the Mn cluster in the PSII. The photoinduced electron donor properties of fac- 4meim were evaluated using methylviologen (MV2+) as an electron acceptor molecule and through the experiments using oxygen evolution sensor, Clarktype microelectrodes. The absorption spectra of the tetranuclear complexes exhibit intense absorptions in the visible region and a broad emission at 590 nm, showing a biexponential luminescent decay kinectic in according to the population of the excited emissive state ILCT and MLCT. The luminescent properties of the Ru(II) mononuclear complex were intensified in the bi- and tetranuclear complexes, probably due to a high symmetry and rigidity of the system, the complex using pirazine ligand showed different behavior. The photoinduced electron transfer reactions (ET) in the bi- and polinuclear complexes in presence of the acceptor MV2+ were possible only using TEOA as electron donor. Another problem found to the bi- and polinuclear complexes was the photodissociation and solvent interaction during photolysis. The molecular oxygen production of the complexes Ru-4,4'bpy-Mn e Ru-pyterpy-Mn, in aqueous solution during photolysis was certified. The photocatalytic properties of the complexes are interesting to the search of new compounds to be used in the artificial photosynthesis.

Aplicação de água de reúso tratada no cultivo de alface (Lactuca sativa L.)
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-01) Urbano, Vanessa Ribeiro; Souza, Claudinei Fonseca; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4858219292242433; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5110664522693150
The concern in developing strategies to solve the water scarcity problem is growing and actual. As a big consumer of the available fresh water, agriculture is the activity with the biggest potential for applying of water reuse. This study set up in CCA/UFSCar evaluated, on laboratory conditions, the physical and chemical properties of a soil irrigated with treated wastewater after the application of a water sheet corresponding to five cycles of lettuce s growth (Lactuca sativa, L.) and in a greenhouse, evaluated the sanitary characteristics and mass of the Elisa type lettuce and the physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics of the soil after the cultivation with treated wastewater, comes from the wastewater treatment plant from the university. In the laboratory experiment, eighteen undisturbed soil samples were coupled in a constant head permeameter and received a water sheet corresponding to five cycles of lettuce s growth, 0.58, 1.16, 1.74, 2.32 and 2.9 L of water for each cycle. The soil samples were distributed in five groups that received treated wastewater and one control group that received distilled water. Soil samples were collected to analyze the granulometry, saturated hydraulic conductivity (ksat), exchangeable sodium percentage (ESP) and soil fertility. Treated wastewater and distilled water leached samples were collected to analyze the electrical conductivity, sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), turbidity, pH, sodium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and nitrate. In a greenhouse, two cycles of Elisa lettuce were cultivated with two treatments (treated wastewater and supply water) with four repetitions. After the harvest of the lettuce, soil samples were collected to analyze granulometry, density, ksat, and soil fertility, total coliforms, Escherichia coli and heterotrophic. The harvested lettuces were analyzed for total coliforms, Escherichia coli and chemical analysis of plant tissue. In laboratory, there was an increase of ESP and the concentration of phosphorus and sodium on soil after the application of the water sheet. There wasn t significant difference on the physical properties of soil, turbidity and SAR. In a greenhouse, there wasn t significant difference between the treatments on nutrients absorption of lettuces cultivated, but the weight of lettuces irrigated with wastewater was 100% greater than the lettuces irrigated with supply water on the second cycle. It was not detected the presence of Esherichia coli on the cultivated lettuces, but there was total coliforms contamination, that presents a risk of contamination to the consumer. The irrigation with treated wastewater increased the nutrients on soil and the SAR indicated a soil salinization risk. The treated wastewater does not cause damage on the physical properties of soil.
