Thus, the possibility of shared work and adds value to the integrated object searched. Given this, reflect on Special Education and Speech interface becomes important compared to the current context of joint work and collaboration that pervades the scientific world. Thus, this research aimed to identify the theoretical frameworks used by the authors of dissertations and theses in the Graduate Program in Special Education, Federal University of São Carlos (PPGEs/UFSCar), interface and Special Education Speech during the years 1981 to 2009, and to analyze the scientific collaboration networks formed in the publication of books, book chapters and articles that characterize the interface. The research proposal was kind of investigative documentary with an exploratory-descriptive way. We used two different methods: a bibliometric analysis and social network analysis. In bibliometric analysis, data were extracted from 96 studies components of the interface screen (78 dissertations and theses 18). Moreover, the analysis of scientific collaboration networks, data were extracted from the Lattes platform of Lattes from 73 authors that have characterized the interface, selection was focused on three formats: book publishing, book chapters and articles. As a preliminary result we can observe that the networks of collaboration showed distinct characteristics in the three formats of publications, especially in the form of books that the networks formed by the authors found themselves disconnected because the formats of book chapters and articles, there collaboration to occur among different authors with different trait. However, the themes that developed were the most frequently targeted for the hearing impaired, wrapped in greater inter-institutional relations between university degree UFSCar, USP and UEL. It is hoped that the analysis of the collaborative networks can contribute as facilitator and promoter of research, so that the interface is strengthened and the relationship between the two sciences pervade other subjects, also important for the growth of both areas.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Macroinvertebrados aquáticos em riachos de cerrado: abordagens ecológicas teórica e aplicada(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-04) Saito, Victor Satoru; Gessner, Alaíde Aparecida Fonseca; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8465752836529703; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3312862423985585The aquatic macroinvertebrates are widely used in ecological studies and recently applied for biomonitoring. The knowledge about composition and distribution patterns are essential to elaborate environmental biomonitoring programs. The Cerrado vegetation, considered hotspot of biodiversity, is one of the most threatened savanna in the world and due to this importance its biodiversity and natural resources needs their own methodology for monitoring. In view of the above this thesis was divided in two studies: 1) Study about the variation in faunal composition of the metacommunity and the importance of local variables and spatial variables. 2) Development of a regional multimetric index using metrics from the macroinvertebrates community. Both studies used the database of 21 streams from the central region of São Paulo State, being 14 impacted streams (seven of sugarcane monocultures and seven of pasture) and seven reference streams, inserted in conserved Cerrado areas. The results of the first paper showed a metacommunity influenced by local factors and little variation was explained by spatial factors. These results fits the studied metacommunity in the species sorting model, considered the ideal for bioindicator groups. In the second paper the filters tested the metrics for range, sensibility to anthropic impact, redundancy between metrics, correlation to natural variability of streams and simplicity. The following metrics passed all filters: of EPT richness to family level, Shannon s Diversity Index to family, percentage of Trichoptera, EPT/Chironomidae and Biological Monitoring Working Party adapted index. The 5 developed multimetric index use metrics of low taxonomic resolution and good response to environmental impact, showing a potential for application in biomonitoring programs in the studied region.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudos evolutivos em Auchenipteridae (Siluriformes): citogenética, DNA mitocondrial e DNA satélite(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-04) Lui, Roberto Laridondo; Moreira Filho, Orlando; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3927076022470557; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9248633088721225The neotropical freshwater fish fauna is the most diverse in the world, with more than 4.000 descrbed spcecies. In Brazil, about 2.500 species of freshwater fishes are considered valid, and the most formallyand a small portion under description, however, it is believed that this number can be significantly higher. Auchenipteridae, which is restricted to the Neotropical region, comprise 20 genus and about 90 species, of which 74 have been recorded for the Brazilian territory. Genetic studies, both chromosomic or moleculars, in Auchenipteridae, are few since the great diversity of species in this family and their wide geographic distribution. Thus, this thesis was developed with the goal of advance the knowledge in this family, specifically with regard to chromosomal studies classical and moleculars in the genus Ageneiosus, Parauchenipterus, Glanidium, Tatia and Trachelyopterus, and in the application of analysis of the DNA mitochondrial sequences to help in taxonomic problem involving the genus Parauchenipterus and Trachelyopterus. Ageneiosus is the genus most widely distributed among river basins of South America. Although chromosomal studies in the family are still few, this genus is the most studied in number of species, ranging from 54 to 56, differing from the rest of the family which present 58. Chromosomal analysis was performed in A. inermis of Araguaia river basin. Ageneiosus presents a slightly different genomic organization compared to the other species of Auchenipteridae. Evidences indicate that a chromosomal fusion that originated the first metacentric pair of A. inermis, can be a rearrangement basal for the genus. Regarding the B chromosomes, in this study, was described the second case of B chromosomes in Auchenipteridae (Trachelyopterus sp.), and it has been hypothesized that the B chromosomes this species may have a common origin in relation to the B chromosomes of P. galeatus. As expected, the results confirmed the great phylogenetic proximity between the genus Parauchenipterus and Trachelyopterus, moreover, indicated that the B chromosomes of the two species may present a common origin, prior to the diversification these genus. With regard to Tatia, this genus belongs to the subfamily Centromochlinae and has 13 valid species. Of these, T. viii jaracatia and T. neivai represent the only two species of the Paraná-Paraguay drainages. Chromosomal analysis was performed these two species, and thus, the first chromosomal data were generated for the genus. The two species of Tatia showed large chromosomal similarity, however, when compared with the others of Auchenipteridae, was possible to identify some differences in the karyotype formula, in the pattern of heterochromatin and in the distribution of 5S rDNA, which appear to be intrinsic of Tatia. Regarding to Glanidium ribeiroi, this species was collected at the Iguazu river, being that its fauna is characterized by high endemism, which is due to two factors: its rugged topography and their old insulation provided by formation of Iguazu falls. Chromosomal analysis was performed in a population of G. ribeiroi collected in a region in the final stretch of this basin, and the results revealed populational differences when compared with previous studies in others populations of the Iguazu river, which must be related to the rugged topography of this basin. In this thesis, was also presented an adaptation of the banding C technique, with respect to the use of a fluorescent dye (propidium iodide), rather than of non-fluorescent dye (Giemsa). This adaptation produces greater contrast of the heterochromatin bands in metaphase chromosomes and can be especially valuable when the organisms studied possess heterochromatin that is pale and difficult to visualize. Finally, the data obtained concerning the genus Parauchenipterus and Trachelyopterus, both by chromosome analysis as by analysis of two mitochondrial genes, will be used in the discussion of a paper still in preparation, that involves the validation or not of Parauchenipterus, genus that has been subject of debate in the taxonomic .listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise de escalabilidade de aplicações Hadoop/Mapreduce por meio de simulação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-04) Rocha, Fabiano da Guia; Senger, Hermes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3691742159298316; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6083739451214753During the last years we have witnessed a significant growing in the amount of data processed in a daily basis by companies, universities, and other institutions. Many use cases report processing of data volumes of petabytes in thousands of cores by a single application. MapReduce is a programming model, and a framework for the execution of applications which manipulate large data volumes in machines composed of thousands of processors/cores. Currently, Hadoop is the most widely adopted free implementation of MapReduce. Although there are reports in the literature about the use of MapReduce applications on platforms with more than one hundred cores, the scalability is not stressed and much remain to be studied in this field. One of the main challenges in the scalability study of MapReduce applications is the large number of configuration parameters of Hadoop. There are reports in the literature that mention more than 190 configuration parameters, 25 of which are known to impact the application performance in a significant way. In this work we study the scalability of MapReduce applications running on Hadoop. Due to the limited number of processors/cores available, we adopted a combined approach involving both experimentation and simulation. The experimentation has been carried out in a local cluster of 32 nodes, and for the simulation we have used MRSG (MapReduce Over SimGrid). In a first set of experiments, we identify the most impacting parameters in the performance and scalability of the applications. Then, we present a method for calibrating the simulator. With the calibrated simulator, we evaluated the scalability of one well-optimized application on larger clusters, with up to 10 thousands of nodes.
