The present work aims to investigate how the homosexuals talk about homophobia through blogs (online diaries) having as analytical, methodological and theoretical reference the French Discourse Analysis. The new information and communication technologies have been providing new discursive spaces like blogs that have specific writing productions. The research made it possible to observe the dislocations and repetitions used by gay subjects (the ones who write / post and the ones who read the blogs) that affect the circulations and production of discourses and meanings about homophobia. In those discourses we can notice the productions of different meanings about the prejudice present in those blogs. The corpus of this research is composed by 37 excerpts, comments and posts from three blogs that use the online- diary format, written by brazilian homosexuals. The results obtained by analyzing them allowed the identification of the blogs as information spaces where there are reports of violence (occurred in different moments of their lives) narrated by the subjects. It is also possible to identify marks that highlight homophobia as part of their everyday lives affecting them and the way they themselves use homophobic expressions. By using the discourse that is available, the subjects write their texts sharing reports and building together that discursive space

The aim of this research revolves around the following question: considering the global dimension of the environmental happening and the consequent tendency towards the environmentalization of curricula, how do these processes evolve in physical education settings, especially in contexts of research and teaching? For the analysis of environmentalization processes surrounding research contexts in physical education settings we considered papers published in scientific journals that propose dialogues/investigations revealing possible meeting points between environmental and physical education discourses. For the analysis of environmentalization processes surrounding teaching contexts in physical education settings we considered academic units that support discussions concerning environmental issues and that are part of physical education curricula in Brazilian higher education settings. The data was analyzed in dialogue with the theoretical references of the research. These references address, in the main: (a) the characterization of the socioenvironmental issue as a field of disputes of power and the elements that surround the legitimization and institutionalization of the environmental dimension; (b) curriculum theories and processes of curricular environmentalization in higher education settings; (c) the historical contextualization of meeting points between the field of physical education and the environmental field. Interpretative analysis of the data and the sociological focus of the research allow the identification of grounding symbols and structures of knowledge that are associated with the incorporation of environmental issues in physical education settings, especially in the contexts of research and teaching.

This research has as main object of analysis the Continued Formation Program of Education Professionals developed by the Municipal Education Department of Rio Claro City SME, in the period 2009-2012, whose focus was shifting to the school unit, as a space for reflection and self-training of professionals who work there. The goal, in turn, is to analyze this program from the perspective of different agents involved in the process: external advisors hired, school units and the SME team from Rio Claro, showing contributions and perceived challenges. The choice of the object and goal setting are due to my work with the SME, while Director of the Pedagogical Department, a position that allowed me to participate in the entire process of designing and implementing that Program. Based on the main theories concerning the continued formation of educators, sought to put the proposal of the Continued Formation Program in his experience. Therefore, within a qualitative approach was used methodological procedures for data collection involving documentary analysis (presented by Educational Units reviews about work, reports from advisers who accompanied the construction of the political-pedagogical schools) and analysis of news conference with members of the Centre for Pedagogical Improvement - CAP, who participated in the whole process. The literature on the subject of the research showed that there is a declining trend in offering courses with traditional views, opening up space for the development of continuing education originated from the demands presented by educators, that takes into account the specificity of the training process from the perspective of professional development and is linked to the school project. The empirical research, in turn, demonstrated that the incentive for participation was the greatest contribution of the program and organization of the time the biggest challenge to confront.

The Information Society is defined in terms of production, circulation and access to knowledge. Therefore, the copyright became a strategic element to the social, economical, political and cultural configuration of the Information Society. The history of copyright, including the creation of the current international regime for the protection of intellectual property rights, reveals the link established between this category of protection and international political economy. At the same time, new information and communication technologies allow diversification in creating process and access to knowledge, as well as enable the making of new devices which enhance the protection of intellectual assets. This scenario led to the questioning of the forms of regulation of copyright that goes through a process of reconstruction of meaning. The contradiction that is established in the Information Society is emphasized in the field of scientific production and communication, since it involves legitimate social interest as well as principles common to the scientific community. The present study aims to examine this contradiction in the international scenario considering the normative aspects linked to the international copyright protection, evaluating and comparing documents and international regulatory actions of the following international organizations: UNESCO, WIPO and WTO. The objective is to verify, by comparative analysis and data from interviews with key informants, the level of openness of organizations to dialogue with civil society. It will analyze the specific case of the inclusion of Open Access on the Agenda for Development administered by WIPO, and the effects of these debates on the international regime for the protection of intellectual property, as well as on the reconstruction of the legal framework of copyright in Brazil.

Background: Decreased peripheral muscle strength is associated with the limitation of functional capacity, however there is not sufficient evidences showing direct impact of peripheral muscle weakness on balance tasks and functional mobility, as well as the prognosis of mortality in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Objectives: The objectives of the study was to assess the relationship of the peripheral muscle strength with BODE index, functional capacity and balance and functional mobility in patients with COPD in pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) and investigate if these patients present muscle weakness, being able to influence the balance and the prognosis of mortality. Methods: It is a cross-sectional study which evaluated 24 patients (age>50 years) of both genders, with moderate to very severe obstruction (FEV1=44(31 - 62,8)%predicted). Patients underwent the following evaluations: modified Medical Research Council (mMRC), Six-minute Walk Test (6MWT), BODE index, Timed Test "Up and Go" (TUG), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Dynamic Gait Index (DGI), Muscle Strength Test in Knee Extensors (KExt) and Hip Abductors (HAbd) with dynamometer MicroFet2. Results: We found significant correlations of peripheral muscle strength with BODE index (KExt = -0.45; HAbd= -0.58) and mMRC (KExt = -0.48; HAbd = -0.49). In this sample, 54% of patients had muscle weakness in ExtJ and there were and there were differences for 6MWT and mMRC among patients with normal or decreased knee extensor strength, however there were no differences for BMI, FEV1, BODE Index, TUG, BBS and DGI. Conclusions: The isometric muscular strength of lower limbs is associated with the prognosis of mortality and dyspnea in patients with COPD, even being submitted to PR. Although the strength of the lower limbs present negative impact on functional capacity and dyspnea, patients with COPD on PR tend to keep preserved balance and functional mobility.

Milk provides essential nutrients (carbohydrate, fat, protein, minerals and vitamins) of great nutritional relevance for humans, particularly during childhood. Nowadays, the occurrence of milk adulteration is a major issue in the dairy industry, and has been causing concerns among costumers and food manufacturers. In this context, the objective of this study was developed a simple, fast and non-expensive method to identify and quantify milk adulteration. In this study, three different methods were proposed based on digital image, infrared spectroscopy (IR) and time domain nuclear magnetic resonance (TD-NMR). Milk samples were adulterated by addition of tap water, whey, synthetic milk, synthetic urine, urea, hydrogen peroxide and caustic soda, in different concentrations, except for caustic soda. In this case, fresh milk samples were put at ambient temperature and waited to turn sour. Later, a 10- mol/L commercial NaOH solution was added into the sourish milk to establish its original pH. Classification models obtained with digital images exhibited tight and well-separated clusters allowing the discrimination of control from adulterated milk samples. Results obtained with TD-NMR and IR allowed the discrimination of milk samples according to the level of adulteration and the type of adulterant used in the adulteration process. In the case of adulteration with NaOH, the method developed with digital image was able to discriminate fresh from adulterated milk samples. Regression models obtained with digital image showed that the method was able to detect adulteration level ≥ 6% v/v. In the other hand, the models obtained with IR and TD-NMR allowed the quantification of adulteration at levels ≤ 3% v/v.

The high incidence of musculoskeletal disorders (WRMD) among computer workers can be associated with different risk factors such as psychosocial, organizational and ergonomic. The worker s satisfaction with his/her job, workload, and the demand and control relationship are the main psychosocial risk factors. Although these factors are not predictive of WRMD, they can act together with ergonomic factors and can stand out when biomechanical stress is absent. When considering biomechanical factors, the literature reports the low muscular rest combined to the low variation in activation. The knowledge available in the literature does not support an effective method of intervention to prevent WRMD in subjects doing intensive computer work. Considering the available hypotheses regarding the nature of WRMD in intensive computer workers, it is suggested that the enrichment of work by different tasks that introduce variation to the physical exposure of these workers can improve musculoskeletal health. This variation could reduce the risk of WRMD. However, it is not known if in fact physical exposure of computer workers varies according to such tasks. A recent study comparing muscle activity (EMG) during computer and non-computer work showed that EMG did not effectively changed across the tasks. However, the study has not evaluated movements, and the identification of tasks was based on software. In order to contribute with information on the mechanisms of exposure in office workers performing intensive use of the computer during work, two studies were developed and compose this dissertation. The Study 1 compared ergonomics and psychosocial indicators between office workers characterized as symptomatic and asymptomatic. Forty-two office workers that use the computer at least 5 years at work have participated. Subjects were divided into two groups according to the results of the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ). Subjects who have experienced any upper limb and neck symptom during the last week were labeled as symptomatic subject (SS). Subjects that have not reported symptoms in these body parts in the last 7 days were classified as asymptomatic subjects (AS). The Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) and Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ) were used to measure psychosocial indicators. Ergonomic Workplace Analysis (EWA) was used as with ergonomics indicator. The results showed higher annual and weekly prevalence of discomfort in the wrist/hand region. The UWES demonstrated that SS have less work engagement. The groups have also differed according to the workspace and job content, according to EWA. Therefore, SS differed from AS regarding both ergonomics and psychosocial factors. In order to obtain more precise information about the risk of this population developing WRMD the Study 2 was developed. The objective was to elucidate if the exposure in non-computer tasks is substantially different from exposure in computer work. Fifty servants (11 male and 39 female), selected according to the same criteria as the previous study, participated of the study. Bilateral EMG of upper trapezius (UT) and wrist extensor (WE), as well as movements of the head, neck, upper back and shoulder were recorded during 2 hours. The tasks performed during the recordings were timed. All data were then concatenated into: Task 1 computer work (CW); Task 2 seated non-computer work (NCW-seat); Task 3 stand non-computer work (NCW-stand); Task 4 - pauses (NC-pauses). Variables that characterize physical exposure were calculated and compared using the Friedman test and alpha level at 5%. Additionally, the contrast between CW and the others tasks was calculated as an indicator of exposure. In general, the results showed that during CW the average EMG of UT was lower, there was less variability in activation, larger and more variable relative rest time - RRT in relation to the other three tasks. The non-dominant WE did not have the same response to the different tasks. On the other hand, the dominant WE presented lower average EMG in CW versus NCW-stand and lower variability (SD and CV) in CW versus the others tasks. Data of movements showed similar results, whit lower amplitude recorded during CW. I general, NCW-stand showed more difference when comparing average data with CW. The data of contrast were consistent with EMG data and movements. The best values were observed when contrasting CW versus NCW-stand. In conclusion, non-computer work performed in upright position showed higher physical demand by considering both EMG and movement data. Therefore, it is possible to suggest that this task can potentially increase variability in physical exposure of computer workers. However, this information still need to be more investigated in order to generate clear and practical recommendations.

Muscle weakness is characterized as a significant cause of reduced physical capacity and functionality, this limitation is due to the decreased ability to produce voluntary contraction of the muscle groups in the affected hemisphere. It is a consequence of morphological and functional changes related to neural and muscular aspects. The aim of this study was to evaluate the neuromuscular performance, muscle volume and Growth Factor Insulin-like I (IGF-I) serum concentration (SC) and its Binding Protein, IGFBP-3, in subjects with chronic hemiparesis. For such, a cross-sectional study was designed. Fourteen subjects with chronic hemiparesis were evaluated for functionality performed by assessment tools Berg Balance Scale Test, Timed Up Go Adapted, Walk test 10 meters, Functional Reach Test, Fugl- Meyer Assessment, Barthel Index, Assessment of Quality of Life, Medical Outcomes Study- 36 Health Status Measurement. The subjects were allocated in the hemiparetic group (HG, 12 men). Healthy subjects (control group, CG) were paired for age, gender, height and body mass index with HG. Rectus femoris (RF), vastus medialis (VM), vastus intermedius (VI), vastus lateralis (VL), biceps femoris (BF) and semitendinosus / semimembranosus (SS) muscle volume was measured. The SC IGF-I and IGFBP-3 was quantified by ELISA. The peak torque (PT), work and power during concentric and eccentric contractions of knee extensors and flexors were evaluated using an isokinetic dynamometer at 60°/s, synchronously to record muscle activation RF, VM, VL, BF and semitendinosus (ST). For parametric data, the unpaired t test and ANOVA two-way followed by Tukey test were applied to identify statistical differences between groups and factors (dominance and condition; paretic limb: PL, non-paretic limb: NPL and control group CG). For nonparametric data was used the Mann Whitney U test followed by Bonferroni adjustment. The significance level of 5% was considered. The HG presented functional levels and CSs of IGF-I and IGFBP-3 reduced compared to the CG. The HG showed selective muscle atrophy of VM, VI, BF and SS, and also altered muscle activation between agonist and antagonist against the CG. There was a significant decrease in PT, work and power of the knee extensors and flexors for concentric and eccentric actions in the PL and NPL compared to the CG. In conclusion, hemiparetic group show weakness in the PL due to changes in neuromuscular performance, including decreased PT, power and work, and also due to changes in the agonist and antagonist muscle recruitment. These neural changes are accompanied by selective atrophy of quadriceps and hamstrings muscles and CSs decrease in IGF-I and IGFBP-3 serum concentrations.

In the current socio-environmental crisis it is critical that the relationships between Science, Technology and Society (STS) and Environmental Education (EE) are enriched, strengthened and dynamized. From the experience of four years in a cultural network called Circuito Fora do Eixo the following question arose: How to awaken the awareness of socio-environmental complexity within a social network? This study features a qualitative and literature review nature and it aims at understanding the different relationships between STS and the perspective of identifying contributions of these theories for the practice of Network Environmental Education. The epistemological framework of this research is the Complex Thinking according to Edgar Morin along with the Environmental Rationality by Enrique Leff. The study contextualizes: the socio-environmental crisis and the cultural dimension of the human being, the environmental rationality, the network society, and lastly, the relationship between Science, Technology and Society and Environmental Education. Based on these research developments we designed an Environmental Education program for network constituted collectives. We realized that it is essential to the program not to be ruled only in contents and that the most important are the human relationships that are established from there. The program features ways for socio-environmental sustainability in this network universe and considers the multiculturalism as an important bias in the process. It was noted that the Environmental Education and the Science, Technology and Society converge in many of the challenges to be faced by them. The implementation of this program can encourage both the critical awareness of the socio-environmental issues and the network participation in order to promote a change in the sensitivities and values, while giving rise also to the search of creative solutions into the achievement of sustainable societies.

Cochlear implants have been effective on cases of deep hearing loss, by allowing sound perception. People with prelingual deafness must learn hearing skills, when using this implant. This study is part of a research program on the development of speech comprehension. Goals were, regarding a sample of four children using cochlear implant: using matching-to-sample model, to teach them conditional relations among articulatory model and figures (AC), dictated words and figures (BC); to verify the effects of these relations on new emerging ones (CA, CB, AB and BA), and also on figures naming, echoic behavior and lip reading skills. Multiple baseline design was used with two participants in order to assess teaching outcomes. Participants performance was also assessed via tasks involving copying and selecting, as well as their auditory and expressive abilities. In order to control teaching tasks sequence effects, half of participants were taught AC followed by BC, and the other half BC followed by AC. Participants learned eight trained conditional relations (four ACs and four BCs) and learning was more effective on BC/AC sequence. Participants formed equivalent stimuli classes, which included figures, dictated words and articulatory models. Three participants have demonstrated a better performance on echoic behavior tasks. In selecting and copying tasks, and also in vocal imitation of nonexperimental stimuli, three participants have shown improvements when comparing to pretest. Results confirm that teaching can improve important rehabilitation skills for individuals with prelingual deafness who are using cochlear implant. Furthermore, results suggest that some tasks might be more appropriate for learning effectiveness.

Dosvox and Virtual Vision accessibility software are screen reader programs that allow reading of the information presented on computer screens through speech output using voice synthesis technology, making their use possible by people with blindness. The objective of this study was to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of a teaching program for the use of accessibility software Dosvox and Virtual Vision by students with blindness of elementary and middle school. To this end, we developed a quasiexperimental study with an AB design, attended by two students with blindness, 18 and 19 years old, who were attending the sixth grade of elementary school and the third year of middle school, respectively. Both attended the same Resource Room facility featured by a public school located within the countryside of the State of São Paulo. The Education Program was 30 hours long, with one hour weekly classes. The following tools have been used to collect data: a) A semi-structured interview, applied preintervention to check the suitability of participants to the inclusion criteria of the study and characterize them. b) The tasks protocol has been used to measure participants' knowledge at two different times: 1) before the education program had been applied (pre-intervention) and 2) after the education program was implemented (postintervention). c) Questionnaire to measure participants' satisfaction. d) Field diary to record the development of the education program. The analysis and interpretation of data was quantitative and qualitative: a) Quantitative evaluation of data from protocol tasks. b) Qualitative evaluation of data from semi-structured interview, from questionnaire and from the field diary. The results obtained in quantitative evaluation showed that performance of the first participant was better than that of the second participant. The qualitative evaluation has shown that the education program was effective for developing flexible teaching strategies that allowed participant 1, who had no computer and had no prior knowledge about the software, a great level of knowledge acquisition. Participant 2, who had a computer and prior knowledge about the software, was enabled to improve his technique so that now he performs numerous tasks with excellence. By making both of them able to use Microsoft Word and access the virtual environments with a computer equipped with Dosvox or Virtual Vision, the new pedagogical strategies arising from the use of computers in the classroom promoted the transition of the educational process of participant 2, previously marked by the demerit of his intellectual capacity, failure and assistance, to a new reality guided by equality and sharing with his peers. No considerations were made about the educational process of participant 1 due to the absence of a computer in the classroom where he had been studying.

This research investigated the learning faculty of experienced teachers who act as "guardians-rulers" in a "supervised" program developed by the Faculty of Education in UFSCar, in the distance, considering the perspectives of these professionals. Specifically, we would like to to understand the changes in the knowledge base for teaching teachers of educational supervisors to act as placement of student teachers, tutors-regents from their participation program. The literature that supports the study is based on studies of Mizukami (2002, 2004, 2006) and Shulman (1986, 1987, 2005) (knowledge base), Garcia (1999, 2002), Vaillant (2003, 2004), Reali (1995, 2009) (teacher trainer), Pepper and Lima (2002, 2006, 2008) (supervised) and the Distance education as a tool for training of trainers based on Rinaldi (2009), Reali (2009) among others who understand the teacher education as a field to be explored and improved constantly. Through a qualitative study a descriptive-analytical revealed the importance of specific training of teachers to act as supervisors stages of future teachers, or "teacher trainers", and the urgency to score elements that make up the base knowledge for teaching trainer.

In this research we tried to describe and analyze the education conditions in the rural area in the state of São Paulo, according to the historic and economic facts that produced this reality. For this reason, first we made a historical research about the maintenance of the schools in the rural area of the state, inside de process of implementation of the School Groups, a ruralist pedagogical movement and the purpose to the rural education renovation, in 1932. After we discussed the neoliberalism and Wolrd Bank power inside the Brazilian economy and education, so, we discussed two special questions that are part of the rural education since the end of the eighties. The first one is if the rural education should be named in or of the countryside and the second one is about the nucleation process and the fact that many rural schools were closed in the state of São Paulo since 1988, which influenced directly in the number of schools and multisseriate classrooms in the rural area in São Paulo as such as in the content of students who live in this field and are daily took to schools in other communities, in the countryside or in the towns. Considering all these questions, we dedicated to the conditions of the rural education in the state of São Paulo, showing and analyzing some features as the number of registrations, schools and seriate and multisseriate groups in this area. We also discussed some other questions, as the transportation of the students, the Active School Program, which tried to answer the multisseriate groups and the teacher´s formation to work with these groups in the rural area. Finally, we realized a delimitation with some cities in the state of São Paulo that have schools in the rural area, then we tried to visualize the material conditions as such as the availability of information and communication technologies in the schools of the rural area in our state. So, with this research we want to make clear some questions about the education in the countryside of the state of São Paulo and give tools to new researches in this area.

In this study, during the school year, the evolution of mental models from first grade high school students about different chemical concepts was investigated by the use of experimental inquiry activities. The research was conducted in two public schools in the region of São Carlos-SP, with the participation of 04 teachers and 444 students divided into 11 classrooms. The methodology for data collection was divided into two steps. First, students performed experimental inquiry activities and were assessed through written individual and group activities, being also interviewed and filmed. These activities and interviews were useful for monitoring their mental models. It should be pointed out that the activities were developed based on the Curriculum Proposed by the Secretariat of Education of the State of São Paulo and the following chemical concepts were included: proposal for experimental procedure, submicroscopic representation of reactants and products, evidence of chemical reactions, Lavoisier s Law, concepts of reactants and products, Proust s Law and stoichiometry. In the second step of data collection, a short course was performed on the Laboratory for Chemistry Teaching and Learning (LENAQ). In this course the methodology used was the same as in the first step. Regarding the student s performance in the first step, it was observed that one third of the subjects showed oscillation in their mental models, 27.8% showed evolution of performance, 24.5% presented regression and 13.5% showed a constant performance. Thus, it can be inferred that although in some moments students showed evidence of difficulties in the development of mental models, the inquiry approach contributed to the development of the different chemical concepts. It should be emphasized that it was observed an evolution of a significant number of students regarding the development of experimental procedures. Finally, in the short course, improvements were observed in the constant and evolution performances in comparison to the school year.

Pedômetro como preditor de mortalidade na DPOC
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2013-02-22) Nyssen, Samantha Maria; Jamami, Maurício; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4274129560250050; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6363016333712655
Objectives: To compare groups with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) who achieved or not the minimum recommendation of 4580 steps per day, recorded by pedometer, with the BODE index variables and their body mass index (BMI), distance covered in 6-minute walk test (6MWT), dyspnea sensation by scale modified Medical Research Council (mMRC) and forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1). Furthermore, analyzing the correlation between the number of steps with subjective questionnaires of physical activity, age, BODE index and its variables. Methods: Cross-sectional study were evaluated 30 COPD patients divided into group 1 (≥ 4580 steps) and group 2 (<4580 steps), by monitoring with pedometer, short International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ short) and modified Baecke questionnaire, Index BODE and its variables. The difference analyzes were performed using the Mann-Whitney test or unpaired t test, correlations by Pearson or Spearman test (p <0.05). Results: There were no differences between the groups in relation to the classification score and BODE index and its variables (BMI, FEV1 and mMRC), modified Baecke questionnaire (total score, sports fields and home) and the IPAQ short score (metabolic equivalent domains (MET) in moderate and vigorous activity per week). We observed higher values for group 2 in the modified Baecke questionnaire (leisure domain) and age, and lower values of distance covered in 6MWT, % predicted 6MWT and in the scores IPAQ short domain (MET walk in during the week and total score). It found a weak correlation between the IPAQ short with the number of steps (r = 0.399), with age (r = -0.459), with 6MWT (r = 0.446) and % predicted 6MWT (r = 0.422). Conclusions: The value of 4580 steps suggested in the literature, was not sensitive to reflect differences between the groups when compared with established predictors of mortality. The IPAQ short can be an acceptable and feasible to measure the level of physical activity in patients with COPD.

In the context of the construction industry today, it is noted that there are a lot of accidents at work, making it thus very dangerous. In order to minimize the consequences of these accidents occurred and the quantities we seek to develop with this study the diagnostic use of Collective Protection Systems (CPS) used in the construction sites in the region of São Carlos focusing in more depth in the system guardrail and footer and platforms protection. Through a network of collaborative research It was elaborated a checklist, based on the normative references have been studied mainly in NR 18 - Conditions and working environment in the construction industry, to evaluate the use of CPS at construction sites. In order to improve the checklist developed was applied in a pilot study and, based on the results obtained, we could make suggestions for improvement. Then began the case studies belonging to the region of São Carlos contemplating nine construction sites. The case studies spread to close cities in the region, as Ribeirão Preto, Jaboticabal and Limeira. After application of the list in the eight sites, we elaborated a list summary and from there, was analyzed the data using photographic records and graphics. The average percentage care of the checklist was 79%, thus showing that many normative items were met, but there is a percentage to improvement of sites in the study region. Finally, after diagnosis the use of CPS drew up guidelines for the choice and use of CPS specific system guardrail and footer and protection platform. Furthermore, it was noted that the lack of use or incorrect use of the CPS at construction sites, often does not occur by technological problems, but by failures in administrative directives or inspection existing in the industry.

This work studies the oral manifestations of five years old children in activities of counting practice, where they are exposed to problem-situation involving the conceptual nexus of numbers in the legends context. The methodology is based in a qualitative perspective, specifically in one case study in which the peculiar case is a group of children of five years old inserted in a non-formal space of learning, that seeks to work toward a historical-cultural perspective. The analysis is based on an interpretative vision, the expressed manifestation of the children during four teaching activities. The manifestations have been divided in three units of significance where we present the episodes that represent the children dialog during the activities, transcribed from video-graphic records. Through the analysis of the children speech it became evident that some of them have used the conceptual nexus of numbers to answer to the proposed situations. The children also showed some influence of the school practices while answering the activities, given the difficulty of using diversified practice of counting. Ultimately, it was perceived that many times the children worried more about the legends and that they forgot the mathematical problems addressed in the activities. We realized that the Teaching Guiding Activity can be a fertile terrain to develop mathematical concepts with children in elementary school education.
