The Permanent Education in Health (Educação Permanente em Saúde - EPS) is a pedagogical strategy recognized by the Pan American Health Organization in Latin America as a method to consolidate public healthcare systems around the world since regular educational activities in health alone are not capable of fulfill the needs of the population and increase the quality of the service. This study discuss the Permanent Education in Health in the city of São Carlos SP and aims to identify and problematize the limitations and potentialities pointed by the local healthcare workers and managers in other to contribute to the development of the strategy in the city. The study uses a qualitative research method through semi-structured interviews of nine actors directly related to the local EPS activities. The results show that the EPS in the city is weakened by different factors such as: fragmented actions in education; lack of knowledge or misunderstanding of the concept of EPS by the workers and mainly by the managers; and above all, rupture of project and political policies due to changes in the government political party. Despite the obstacles, the study also revels positive aspects of the EPS implementation in the city, like: good partnership between healthcare network and educational institutions; investment in activities of education in health; and involvement in governmental forums of EPS discussions and planning. The study conclude that EPS can evolve by increasing the articulation between the players involved in the public health system SUS (teaching, management, care, and social control), to guarantee the continuous consolidation the National Policy of Permanent Education in Health.

Maintaining legacy systems is a complex and expensive activity for many companies. A recently proposal to solve this problem is Architecture-Driven Modernization (ADM), proposed by Object Management Group (OMG). The ADM consists of a set of concepts and standard metamodels that support systems modernization using models. The Knowledge Discovery Metamodel (KDM) is the main metamodel of ADM, it can represent many artifacts of a legacy system, such as source code, architecture, user interface, configuration files and business process. In general, legacy systems have crosscutting concerns, it can show source code problems like tangling and scattering, and it raises the maintenance costs. The aspect orientation is an alternative to improve crosscutting concerns modularization. Thus, in this dissertation is presented the term Aspect Oriented Modernization that uses the aspect oriented concepts in the ADM context. This modernization process consists in modularize legacy systems with aspects represented in model level. To achieve this goal, in this work were performed a lightweight and a heavyweight extension in the KDM metamodel, to analyze which one would present a better performance if used by Modernization Engineers. The evaluation of these extensions was performed by a case study that considered the modernization with aspects of a small-sized system. To evaluate the case study in both extensions, a set of comparison criteria were created to support the software engineers in choosing the best extension mechanism, according to their needs. In the context of this dissertation an experimental study were developed that aimed reproducing the scenarios that the modernization engineers had to perform maintenances and developing new refactorings in a aspect oriented KDM model. The experiment data considered the development time of the activities and the found number of errors. Finally, it was noticed that the extension mechanism to be choose will depend on the context that it will be applied, however, considering the approach studied here the best extension mechanism is the heavyweight one.

The purpose of this work is to study the realizability problem of branched coverings between closed, connected and orientable surfaces. For each covering, there exists a set of naturally associated data called branch datum that should satisfy the Riemann-Hurwitz formula. A classical problem (for possibly non-orientable surfaces) asks whether for a branch datum satisfying the condition of Riemann-Hurwitz exists a branched cover between surfaces having it as branch datum. The correct answer is: not always. When a branch datum satisfies the necessary conditions to come from a branched covering, we call it a candidate branched covers ; if indeed it comes from a branched cover we call it realizable and, if not, we call it exceptional. In fact, it is known that exceptions can occur only if the covered surface is the sphere or the projective plane, but the general solution is still unknown. Among the various tools used to attack the problem we will work directly with two of them: the orbifolds and dessins d'enfant.

Spodoptera frugiperda is a major pest of maize and its damage may lead to reduction of agricultural production. The use of synthetic insecticides has been the primary method of pest control, but their indiscriminate use has has altered the selection of populations, as well as damage to human health and environment. Thus, the study of insecticidal plants as a promising tool to control of pest insects have been stimulated. Good results were obtained previously with extracts of T. pallida, T. pallens and To. ciliata on larvae of S. frugiperda, but there are no studies related to metabolization by the insect of natural substances derived from these species. Therefore the goals of this study were to isolate and identify secondary metabolites of T. pallida, T. pallens and To. ciliata to assay them, and to understand how these compounds are metabolized by caterpillars at different larval stages. The phytochemical study provided isolation and identification of steroids sitosterol, stigmasterol and campesterol, triterpenes dammaradienol and 30-normetilenocicloartan- 3β-ol, limonoids cedrelone and 23-hidrooxicedrelone, coumarins siderin, scopoletin and 4-methoxy-5- methylcoumarin, flavonoids catechin, epicatechin and gallocatechin, indole-3-carbaldehyde, protocatechuic acid, inosil 5'- nucleoside and a purine adenine. Insecticides tests of ingestion against S. frugiperda were performed with crude extracts, fractions and pure substances. The best results were obtained from two species of Trichilia, where the branches fraction of T. pallens led to 100% larval mortality. Chemical studies of the metabolism of the insect was developed with the limonoid cedrelone, which was highly active. Thus, in order to understand how insects metabolize this active principle, some strategies were used to detect cedrelone in S. frugiperda larvae feeded with artificial diet containing this limonoid. The study of 1st instar larvae by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (600 MHz) identified cedrelone intact in these extracts. The analysis of the extracts of the faeces of the fifth instar S. frugiperda feeded at 5 and 24 hours with diet enriched in cedrelone by Mass Spectrometry (LTQ-Orbitrap Velos), demonstrated that the metabolization pathway of cedrelone takes a longer time to be activated, because in 5 hours the limonoid was almost totally excreted intact in the faeces. In 24 hours, the insect metabolized a high amount of cedrelone, the metabolic products were released in faeces and a small amount of intact cedrelone, observing values below 500 ng when it was quantified. In metabolic activity assays of the insect, we observed an increase in relative metabolic rate and metabolic cost after ingestion of the active ingredient, which may be related to the attempted detoxification of the compound by the insect. The study of the microbiota associated with S. frugiperda by MALDITOF/ MS enabled the secure identification of micro-organisms isolated from treatments cedrelone and control at genus Enterococcus, and the specie E. mundtii was identified for all treatments. These micro-organisms seems to be associated with metabolism of cedrelone by the insect. Furthermore in this work it were carried out tests of inhibition of acetylcholinesterase enzyme in screening mode searching for potential candidates for natural insecticides, with the best results observed for cedrelone.

The study of the electrochemical aging of conductive polymers, including of polythiophenes, has been described in the literature. However, this paper proposed study, in addition to electrochemical aging of polyethylene films (3-hexylthiophene), the influence of synthesis variables on the initial electrochemical properties of the films and also how they affect the degradation process. This study was conducted using factorial designs 23, in which the variables were the concentration of monomer (3- hexylthiophene), electrolyte concentration (LiClO4) and the presence of water, on two levels. To estimate the effect were used for responses the parameters of cyclic voltammetry, the impedance spectra and the Mott-Schottky curves. The model of transmission lines for porous electrodes where used for fit the impedance spectra. It has been shown that the changes observed are related to modifications in film/solution interface, because the parameters of impedance spectra have undergone major changes. It was also possible to assess the variables affect the synthesis not only the initial parameters as well as the extent of degradation that the polymer undergoes, including, identifying two stages of degradation. The first stage occurs before 120 min, and that in most of the films has a rate of change of the parameters marked. The second time, with slightly larger gear change occurs after this time. There is a relationship between the initial parameters and the evolution of degradation. In general, the films with improved initial properties have lower resilience to the degradation process, while the films with lower values of initial properties have shown less variation in these parameters over the same process.

This dissertation addressed the feasibility study of Friction Riveting technique on polycarbonate and 2024-T351 aluminum alloy spot joints. Design of experiments and Artificial Neural Network modelling were used to investigate the influence of process parameters on mechanical and microstructural properties of joints. These joints were produced at the Institute for Research Helmholtz Zentrum Geesthacht (HZG), in Germany, during the undergraduate years of the applicant. Process temperature was measured using an infrared camera. The mechanical properties of the joints were determined by tensile testing. The macro and microstructural characterization were carried out by light optical microscopy (LOM) and Vickers microhardness tests. The fracture mechanisms were investigated by optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The level of PC degradation in the joining area was obtained by viscometry and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The average peak temperatures meausured during joining varied between 52% and 72% of the melting point interval of AA 2024 aluminium alloy. Strong joints with high anchoring efficiency were achieved, with ultimate tensile strength of approximately 90% of metallic rivet, and non-catastrophic ductile fracture at the metallic rivet outside the joined area. This is desirable failure type in riveted polymeric structures and an indication of high-strenght joints. The viscometry and FTIR analysis showed the absence of thermal degradation of the PC in the riveted joint. Statistical and Artificial Neural Networks modeling process showed good repeatability and reproducibility within the conditions studied. These results demonstrated the feasibility of producing spot joints of rivets 2024-T351 and PC by using the FricRiveting process.

Physalaemus is the largest genus, with regard to number of species, of the subfamily Leiuperinae, the taxonomy of which has been the subject of recent studies due to the high intraspecific and low interspecific variation within the group, with patterns of variation possibly related to geographic distribution. The Physalaemus albifrons species was first collected by Johann Baptiste von Spix in 1824, and its type locality is the "Province of Bahia", even though it is distributed from Maranhão to Minas Gerais, in regions characterized by the Caatinga morphoclimatic zone in areas of transition with the Cerrado. Due to the variation in the dorsal pattern found in Physalaemus albifrons, authors have put foward the hypothesis of the species being included in a species complex, meaning there would be more species registered under a single common name. Based on this, 98 individuals were studied, associated with each sampled location by means of analysis of morphological and morphometric characters, thus redescribing the species. Physalaemus albifrons presents four intrapopulational dorsal coloration patterns, varying from homogeneously spotless; longitudinal and irregular linear dark spots; as well as dark spots in an omega-like pattern. The second tubercle next to the tibiotarsal articulation, the absence of inguinal glands and the snout-vent length from 18,1 mm to 33,8mm proved to be diagnostic features in order to differentiate Physalaemus.albifrons from other species of the genus. This species, which may also be described as being average-sized for this genus, with the head greater in width than in length; and the snout subelliptical in dorsal view. The populations presents morphological variation as to the distinction of the tympanic ring which might be visible in some individuals and indistinguishable in others, leading to the definition of two morphological groups which are unified through canonical discriminant analysis, therefore discarding the possible characterization of the species complex in Physalaemus albifrons.

The integrated network management system aims to manage the telecommunications network, regardless of network elements technology in order to identify the causes of problems, providing a more assertive decision making to remedy these problems and make the network available and operational. Thus, can to cater to the market that is increasingly demanding with the level of quality telecommunications products and services. Given this need, integrated networks management system belongs to a real company needs to respond quickly to customers' expectations with respect to requests for new functions system, and perform technology upgrades periodically. However, the integrated network management system development use centered-source technologies, and it requires great effort and hinders reuse. In this context, this master's project presents a proposal to facilitate the integrated network management system development using the techniques of MDD (Model Driven Development). MDD emphasizes the use of models in software development. These models specify the rules of business domain at a high level of abstraction, i.e., regardless of the programming language and to run the software platform. With appropriate computational tools transformations of models in the source code are performed. The use of MDD can provide software reuse procedurally, enabling faster development, lower cost, produce a flexible software and enable faster modifications. To apply MDD approach, a Domain Specific Language (DSL) for the configuration management of integrated network management system setting is designed to facilitate the inclusion of a new technology to be managed by the system, while providing faster development and with fewer errors of code. To evaluate the proposal, an experiment was conducted with the participation of software developers that know the system and work in this real company. The results showed that according to the descriptive analyses there was a reduction in the time spent in application development when it was used DSL compared to the specialization of classes. However, hypotheses tests showed no such reduction. The insertion of errors in the code occurred only in applications developed using specialization classes. The use of DSL provided a broader view of the business rule and you do not need knowledge of the programming language, once the code was automatically generated.

In the São Paulo State predominated two large phytoecological formations: the semideciduous forests and the savanna. The extensive use of these areas mainly for cane sugar plantations and other monocultures, caused a high loss of habitats. While still play an important role in maintaining the biodiversity of the State, there is a lack of information on bird communities in this region. In this sense, we have developed a comprehensive study on the avifauna of Porto Ferreira State Park (PFSP), which protects one of the few stretches of ecological tension between semideciduous forest and savanna in São Paulo. In Chapter I, we analyze the composition and structure of PFSP‟s bird community. We recorded 207 bird species in the area, between February 2011 and October 2013, including 15 threatened/near threatened species, 22 endemic to the Atlantic Forest and two endemic to savanna. We found that the PFSP has a bird richness similar to large fragments of the region, although the most sensitive species and more demanding in the resources exploitation are less abundant compared to generalist species and to the most conserved fragments of the surroundings. In Chap. II, we evaluated the interaction between frugivorous birds and PFSP‟s ornithochoric plants. There was availability of attractive fruit throughout the year, with peak productivity between September and October, in line with the pre-reproductive period of birds and the arrival of migratory species. Despite the prevalence of generalist birds that disperse mainly small seeds of plants from the early succession stages, we found the PFSP has a diversified frugivorous bird-plant interaction network compared to other forest fragments of the State, due to the variety of available environments, connection with other surroundings fragments and its medium size and rounded shape, softening the matrix impact. In Chap. III, we evaluated the potential of bird perches in increasing the seed rain in an abandoned pasture within the PFSP limits. Therefore, we installed seed traps under natural perches (living trees) and artificial, noting the number of deposited seeds increased proportionally to the amount of landing perches structures. Natural perches also provided other resources for birds, such as fruits, insects and shelter, making them more attractive. We conclude that natural perches and artificial perches with more elaborate architecture showed greater efficiency in attracting seed-disperser birds and increasing the seed deposition, being the most recommended for this area recovery and for ecological restoration projects.

This study started from an analysis and reflection on Teamwork, from the perspective of professionals from a Family Health Unit (FHU) in a town in the state of São Paulo. The purpose was show the work process, based on the perspective of integrated care, considering the conception of the role of each professional as an integral member of a team, for the production of care. It also shows the vision of these professionals about teamwork, as well as those factors that favors and influence in the relationships established in the work process. The present used a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach to character, whose participants were health professionals, entered a team in the "Strategy of Family Health". Although professionals have noted the importance of interdisciplinary character, its representations indicate that they develop work isolated and fragmented actions. Value the participation of different professions / professionals as team members; however, their representations are not revealing the interaction between their knowledge. It is understood that discussions about teamwork in the context of the family health strategy are crucial to bring about changes in the profile of the various professionals involved, because this implies a collective activity where each member puts their knowledge, feelings ne expectations due to a common objective, that is, in the production of a complete care.

This dissertation presents a brief historical and an overview of Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGSs) experiences worldwide and draws up a sociological analysis concerning the process of organic regulation in Brazil. It also contains a case study of a PGS based on the Natural Agriculture Association of Campinas and Region (ANC, by its acronym in Portuguese), located in the municipality of Campinas, state of São Paulo, Brazil. For the historical review, the methodology included literature review, interviews with key actors related to the Brazilian agroecological movement and documental analysis. For the case study, the techniques employed were participatory observation during the field research, analysis of ANC´s documents and interviews with ANC s producers, focused on both individual and organizational trajectories. The study revealed that the participation of Civil Society in the regulation of organic production in Brazil, especially through the agroecological movement, was the main reason for the brazilian legislation to become the first one that recognized PGSs in the same level as Third Party Certifiers. The case study revealed that the experiences exchange and the continuous members capacitation are the main advantages of ANC´s PGS. On the other hand, the major challenges were to overcome bureaucracy as well as direct and indirect costs in order to maintain the PGS´s activities.

Achieving resilience along the supply chain in today's turbulent business environment requires efforts from both internal and external elements of the company. Because Procurement is currently considered a boundary spanning function, it has become a primary facilitator in helping to create supply chain resilience. The purpose of this study is therefore to understand the role of Procurement in managing the intra- and inter-organisational issues needed to create supply chain resilience. To do so, a literature review was developed by following the systematic literature review method in which intra- and inter-organisational issues that could impact supply chain resilience were identified. These issues were grouped into eight general topics: knowledge acquired, inventory, product and technology for intraorganisational issues; and strategic sourcing, supply chain design, transportation and risk for inter-organisational issues. Dynamic capability (DC) view was also reviewed to offer a deeper analysis and fresh perspective on the empirical results. A multiple case study was conducted in four focal companies from different sectors, including two key suppliers from each one. After all interviews were transcribed, the data was added to the QDA Miner software in order to conduct a content analysis of within-cases and, subsequently, cross-case analysis. Following the theory elaboration defined by Ketokivi and Choi (2014), propositions were developed based on the empirical and theoretical findings through the rationale of the dynamic capability view. As a result, procurement structure and external inventory were found as additional organisational issues, and a new rationale is proposed to explain how Procurement can create supply chain resilience through dynamically managing and controlling the identified organisational issues. The primary theoretical contribution of this research is applying a new perspective to the issue of resilience. The development of these capabilities may help Procurement managers to better cope with current critical supply disruptions and hence help to achieve company survival and competitiveness.

The research in performance measurement (PM) systems have reacted to changes in organizations environments. In recent years, in response to the pressures of society, the organizations are increasingly implementing sustainability practices. Following this context, this study aims to investigate empirically the changes in PM systems caused by the implementation of sustainability practices in organizations. The bibliometric studies and systematic literature review have showed that there is no clear relationship between the research on sustainability and PM systems. Hence, it is necessary to develop more empirical studies to close the identified gap. In the first research effort of this thesis, a case study was carried out in a company which is ranked as sustainability company in Brazil index. The empirical findings indicate that the PM system changes have occurred in three elements: performance measures, how the companies communicate their results, and the process of information management. These findings were the foundation for developing the survey, the second research effort. The survey was carried out in a population of 182 companies which publish sustainability reports in Brazil, according to the Global Reporting Initiative standards . After the data collection, 81 valid responses were received. The data analyzes demonstrate that the respondents who perceived change in PM systems work in companies which has more implemented environmental practices. Additionally, this perception is influenced by PM systems variables: use of social indicators, the relevance of social/environmental indicators, the new social/environmental performance indicators, the internal communication among all hierarchical classes of roles, the external communication to several groups of stakeholders, the use of benchmarking, the compliance with regulations issues, the information provided from PM system about social/environmental performance measures and the interpretation of the social/environmental performance indicator results. Therefore, the sustainability practices have acted as triggers for changes in performance measurement systems.

As an outcome of the ethnography carried through among the Tenharim - a kagwahiva group from the Madeira river basin in Southern Amazon Rainforest - this dissertation's major point is the Mboatawa, a feast that takes place annually between June and August, and the ritual transformations. This work is, hence, an ethnography of the ritual metamorphosis triggered by two distinct aerophones called Yreru and Yrua, as well as the singing of the elders. Through these expressive elements present in the Mboatawa and the approach to the tenharim landscape, I develop an assay of the temporality emerged from the alterations provoked by the feast and the inherent transformation in their topography. However, the Mboatawa is not restrict to the expressive forms, but also to other domains, such as the chieftainship and Mutum (Myty-Nygwera) and the system of moieties Taravé (Kwandu).

Given the large number of species of Bauhinia and great morphological similarity between them, it is necessary the development of robust analytical techniques in quality control of plants used as herbal medicines, since it is difficult to achieve the desired effects when using a different species as is the case of plant studied. Therefore, this study aimed to identify similarities between commercial preparations and the standard sample Bauhinia forficata Link. Obtained crude extracts of commercial samples and standard sample using different extracting phases. The extracts were analyzed using the technique of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and principal component analysis (PCA) used for extraction and interpretation of the data obtained. As a result, we found that the extracting phases hexane, methanol and methanol / water, generated the most varied spectral profiles. Visual analysis of the samples suggests that there are at least four different samples in the data set. Moreover, by analyzing PCA can be concluded that all the samples are different from the standard sample. However, it is not possible to say whether or not the samples belong to the same species, since external causes as time and storage temperature, can cause chemical variability that are modeled by the PCA and thus further studies should be conducted in order to classify them. To do this we studied the feasibility of using second-order methods such as PARAFAC and MCR. The characteristics data didn t accord the requirements for use of these methods, such as trilinearity, blocking its application.

Few studies are targeted concerning the chemistry of the secondary metabolism from endophytic fungi associated to edible fruits. In this sense, it is worth to explore the the microbial metabolic skills, particularly from the fungi species naturally present in this host, since a plethora of compounds from different biossintetic groups with diverse bioactivities may have been directly introduced to human diet. Therefore, the aim of the work encompassed the chemical and metabolic investigation of the fungus isolated from sympthomless apple fruits, the specie Talaromyces rugulosus, as well as the fungus Setophoma sp. isolated from healthy guava fruits. The study was based on the chemical prospecting of the fungal metabolism by means of OSMAC approach. In this step, besides the screening of known metabolites, the investigation was carried out in order to encounter new natural products biossintetized by the studied strains. Aiming to reach a fast and effective dectection, the UHPLC-HRMS based dereplication combined to dedicated database queries was extensively applied. The use of these integrated approaches allowed the establishment of a broad chemical profile owned to each microorganism and has led to the identification of seven new depsides produced by Setophoma sp. and novel halogenated alkaloids by T. rugulosus through spectroscopic data, chiefly NMR and HRMS-MS. In addition to these results, the induction of known perilenequinones produced by Setophoma sp. strain was observed when it was submitted to the co-cultive with other fungi species. Some of the novel poliketides showed moderate antimicrobial activity against S.aureus, while the perilenequinones comprised a seeming inhibition of some tested Penicillium species. Concerning T. rugulosus, it was also verified if the fungus showed to be skillfull in biotransformations of compounds naturally owned to apples chemical composition, such as flavonoids and organic acids. Whereas any product from this proposal was detected, a remarkable production of multicolanic acid was observed by the use of the tested substrates into the culture medium, suggesting a likely marker for this specie. Finally, taking into account the fact that fruits represent a rich source of nutrients for its associated microbial inhabitants, it is worth to consider that secondary metabolites biosynthesis in loco be favoured. Therefore it was proposed the monitoring of the most common metabolites produced by T. rugulosus into commercial apple extracts. The detection study was carried out by UHPLC-MS/MS via dynamic MRM experiments, which allowed the detection of compounds potentially produced by the fungus in the evaluated apple extracts.
