The use of seedlings produced in larger volumes of cells could provide the transplant directly to the definitive profiles, besides possibly ensuring the smallest cycle of lettuce plant growth in this system. Thus, the objective of this work was to verify the performance of lettuce seedlings produced in different volumes of trays cells and their subsequente transplant aiming at precocity at harvest and exemption from the use of nursery phase in hydroponic NFT system. Two subsequent experiments were performed. In the first experiment, seedlings were grown and evaluated in different volumes cells of trays (50, 40, 35, 31, 30, 29, 27, 20 and 10 cm³ céll-1) and, after 40 days, in the second experiment, Were transplanted directly to the definitive profiles of the NFT, with exception of the seedlings produced in volume 10 cm³ cell-1 that first remained 10 days in the nursery before its definitive transplant. In both experiments, it was adopted a completely randomized block design with four replications. In the seedlings, the following characteristics were evaluated: Plant height (PH cm plant-1); Root lenght of seedlings (RLs cm plant-1); Total leaves of seedlings (TLs leaves plant-1); Fresh seedling aerial mass (FSAM g plant-1); Dry mass of the aerial part of the seedlings (DMAPS g plant-1); Fresh seedlings and root pasta (FSRP g plant-1); Dry mass of seedlings root (DMSR g plant-1). After the transplanting of lettuces in the NFT system, were evaluated at 22 days after transplant (DAT) and 29 (DAT) the characteristics: Number of leaves in senescence (NLS plant-1); Total leaves (TL plant-1); Fresh mass of the aerial part (FMAP g plant-1); Fresh root pasta (FRP g plant-1); Aerial shoot dry mass (ASDM g plant-1); Stem length (ST cm) and Productivity (Kg m-2). The best performance of the seedlings was ally with the increase in volume per cell of trays. After transplant, the best performance of lettuces was generated from the use of seedlings produced in larger cell volumes. In the volumes of 20 to 50 cm³ cell-1, there was no need for the nursery for the seedlings and the number of transplants reduced from two to one, contrary to the volume of 10 cm³ cell-1. Seedlings produced in trays with 40 and 50 cm³ cell-1 provided harvest at 22 DAT of cultivtion in the NFT system.Item type:Item, Das estratégias às justificações : uma análise da construção política do Protocolo Agroambiental Paulista(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-05) ;Sabadin, Ana Carina ;Martins, Rodrigo Constante ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6617183095074852https://lattes.cnpq.br/1025672097187047This research has as the object of its study the political construction of the Protocolo Agroambiental Paulista, a regulation established by UNICA and by Secretarias do Meio Ambiente e de Agricultura e Abastecimento do estado de São Paulo in the year 2007. The proposal of this regulation consisted in “adjusting the behavior” of the sugar-ethanol sector in face of a range of opposing arguments, especially in relation to the burning of cane fields in São Paulo, as brought up by public opinion. It was noticed that, strategically, this was not only a way of reverting the image of social-environmental degradation that is usually attributed to the production of sugarcane, but also such regulation would favor a diminishment of the criticisms raised against this sector. As so, the production of Ethanol was supported for it being a green type of fuel, but without fully breaking the logic of monoculture. The relationship between the State, the economy, the environment and society turned out to be fruitful to accomplish the goal of this research, which was to interpret the political construction of such protocol positioning the statements and absence of social groups and sectors that would be directly interested in the signing of such document. The hypothesis raised here, which was verified, is that the Protocolo Agroambiental would contribute to the maintenance of the burning of the cane fields in São Paulo. This investigation and its conclusions were possible through a methodology that favored a qualitative approach of social research, including bibliographical research, document analysis as well as a series of semi-structured interviews conducted with the main interest agents of this research.Item type:Item, Reações cíclicas de oxidação e redução de materiais a base de Ni para geração de hidrogênio(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-06) ;Corrêa, João Vítor Soares ;Santos, João Batista Oliveira dos ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0285313473901330https://lattes.cnpq.br/8578196889928435Hydrogen (H2) is used in several industrial processes, including ammonia production and petroleum refining. Commercially, most of the H2 produced is from methane steam reforming. Although well established industrially, methane steam reforming requires high energy demand and has problems of catalyst deactivation. As an alternative, this work presents the methane conversion to H2 through chemical looping reactions. This process consists in reacting a metal oxide (MeO) with methane (reducing agent) producing CO and H2 in the gas phase and reduced metal (Me) in the solid phase. Then, regeneration of the Mel is carried out with an oxidizing agent (air, for example), again producing MeO. To make this technology viable, the development of oxygen transporting materials that present high activity, selectivity and stability in the two reaction stages is essential. In this work, Ni/NiO based materials supported on different metal oxides were synthesized. The materials were prepared by wet impregnation and characterized by thermogravimetry, X-ray diffraction, programmed temperature reduction, surface area (BET method), pore volume and transmission electron microscopy. Reactive tests were carried out using methane as reducing agent and oxygen as oxidizing agent. In general, the materials showed activity in both stages of reaction and it was verified that the support exerts influence in the behavior of the formation of the products and the characteristics of Ni/NiO particles.Item type:Item, Estudos da biossíntese das piranocumarinas xantiletina e seselina em laranja pêra (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck) e limão cravo (Citrus limonia Osbeck)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-06) ;Amaral, Jéssica Cristina ;Silva, Maria Fátima das Graças Fernandes da ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0457632122660653https://lattes.cnpq.br/6610572791860659The present work describes the study of biosynthesis of pyranocoumarins in Citrus sinensis and Citrus limonia. Coumarins, like other phenylpropanoids, have biosynthetic origin in p-hydroxy cinnamic acid and their great structural diversity is mainly due to the incorporation of prenyl units in the benzene ring. To obtain answers on the prenylation reaction, isotopic labeling experiments were performed to confirm the biosynthesis of pyranocoumarins. To verify if the isopentyl diphosphate (IPP) unit used in the prenylation of umbelliferone in C-6 and C-8, leading to the linear and angular pyranocumarins respectively, comes from the mevalonate (MEV) pathway via 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol- 4-phosphate (MEP), or mixed route; the biosynthesis of the terpene portion of xanthyletin and seselin was investigated by the incorporation of glucose-1 [¹³C] into C. sinensis and C. limonia. For the confirmation of the biosynthetic route, the enrichment pattern was determined by comparing the quantitative ¹³C NMR spectra of xanthyletin and seselin isolated from the C. sinensis and C. limonia root cultured in MS basal medium with 100% glucose and of a second experiment with 75% glucose-1 [¹³C]. The results showed that the isoprene portion derives exclusively from the MEP pathway, because only the C-1 and C-5 carbons of the IPP unit, for both C. sinensis and C. limonia xanthyletin and C. limonia seselin were enriched. By analyzing the chemical profile of the plant parts, the presence of the pyranocoumarins was observed only in the roots of both species, indicating that the biosynthesis of the same occurs in the citrus roots. It was also carried out the quantification of pyranocoumarins in roots, to determine a genotype that presented higher production of this class of compounds. In the quantification of pyranocoumarins in the 12 genotypes of C. sinensis and C. limonia grown in vitro in MS basal medium, it was observed that there is a significant decrease in the production of these substances among the genotypes of each of the evaluated species and that the concentration of these compounds in C. limonia is 158,35% higher than in C. sinensis.Item type:Item, Catalisadores de Au suportados aplicados à oxidação preferencial do CO : influência da interação entre Au e Fe nos sítios ativos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-07) ;Franke, Karen Niége ;Ferreira Palhares, Adriana Paula ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5736423072715628https://lattes.cnpq.br/3572389539600848New sources of clean energy have been studied, such as hydrogen (H2). Carbon monoxide, a subproduct of its production, poisons the fuel cell. To reach concentrations below 10 ppm, the addition of preferential CO oxidation reaction (PROX-CO) is required. This work is based on the study of behavior of gold and iron catalysts for PROX-CO. Studies point to high activity and good selectivity in PROX-CO with the combination of Au and Fe in catalysts, especially at low temperatures, although there are effects of the iron-gold interaction to be clarified. M. Haruta, H. Kung and I. Green have proposed mechanisms of reaction where the support plays an important role in PROX-CO, either by its O2 vacancies at the interface with the Au NPs or by taking part in the adsorption of CO molecules. Iron oxides become interesting as they are known for their oxygen vacancies and have high oxygen mobility in their network that varies according to the phase of this metal oxide. Results with Au and/or Fe catalysts supported on γ-Al2O3 showed that varying the synthesis, interaction and oxidation state of Au and Fe were modified. Catalysis tests for PROX-CO with previously reduced samples were more active possibly due to the formation of Au+/Au0 ions essentials for the activation and oxidation of CO. AuFeAl sample reduced at 400°C was shown to be most promising for PROX-CO of the samples tested, due both conversion and selectivity. Subsequently, gold catalysts were supported in the phases hematite, goethite and magnetite of iron oxide obtained from different preparation methods with different thermal treatments. These catalysts presented very different performance for PROX-CO. The performance for hematite-supported Au catalysts was higher. The AuHSG catalyst, which at around 110°C, showed a 33% CO conversion with acceptable CO2 selectivity (above 1:1 CO and O2 conversions respectively).Item type:Item, Envolvimento da serotonina no controle respiratório durante o desenvolvimento pós-natal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-07) ;Rossato, Vivian Biancardi ;Funk, Gregory Douglas ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/5940547908075562 ;Batalhão, Luciane Helena Gargaglionihttps://lattes.cnpq.br/5850453468994497Serotonin (5-HT) is a neurotransmitter involved in nervous system development, being an important modulator of respiratory rhythm via activation of diverse receptors on respiratory neurons. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as fluoxetine act as antidepressants and are generally prescribed in depression therapy, including to pregnant women. This study investigated the effects of prenatal (E15-21) exposure to fluoxetine on the ventilatory and metabolic responses to 7% CO2 (hypercapnia) and 10% O2 (hypoxia) of male and female rats during postnatal development (P0-82). To this end, osmotic pumps were implanted subcutaneously in pregnant female rats at embryonic day (E) 15 and delivered vehicle (VEH) or fluoxetine (SSRI, 10 mg/Kg/day) during 7 days. Respiratory frequency (fR), tidal volume (Vt), ventilation (Ve ), O2 consumption (''VO2 ) and air convection requirements (Ve/VO2 ratio) of pups from these litters were studied. In P0-2 male rats, the SSRI group showed a lower Vt and a higher fR in room air conditions, whereas female rats of SSRI group showed a lower Vt in normocapnia normoxica and a higher hyperventilation induced by hypercapnia. At P6-8, male SSRI animals presented a higher fR during hypoxia together with a decrease in the number of neurons that express 5-HT in the caudal dorsal raphe (RDC). P6-8 females from ISRS group showed an attenuated fR during hypoxia. No differences were observed between male rats in the VEH and ISRS groups at P12-14 although there was an increase in the number of 5-HT neurons in the RD. SSRI females showed an attenuated hypercapnic ventilatory response. At P24-26, male SSRI animals showed a lower VEin room air conditions, a higher ventilatory response to hypercapnia and to hypoxia, together with an increase in the number of 5-HT neurons in the ROB and a higher density of TH expression in the LC area. P24-26 SSRI females displayed a lower Ve/V O2 due to a higher V O2 in room air conditions and a higher hyperventilation induced by hypercapnia. In P76-82 male rats, the SSRI group hypoventilated in room air conditions during both wakefulness and NREM sleep and showed a higher increase in Vt induced by hypoxia during wakefulness. These animals showed a higher number of 5-HT neurons in the ROB, RPA and an increase in the number of neurons that express TH in the A5 and in the LC rostral area. Finally, at P76-82, female SSRI rats showed a higher fR in room air conditions during both wakefulness and NREM sleep, an attenuated hypercapnic ventilatory response due to an attenuation of fR during NREM sleep; and an attenuated hypoxic ventilatory response during wakefulness. Also, these animals showed a decrease in the number of 5-HT neurons in the RD. Taken together, these data indicate that SSRI exposure during the prenatal period alters the development of the brainstem respiratory network and results in long lasting and sex specific changes in breathing pattern and in the ventilatory responses to respiratory challenges demonstrating that central and/or peripheric chemoreception may be disrupted in these animals.Item type:Item, Degradation modeling for reliability analysis with time-dependent structure based on the inverse gaussian distribution(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-07) ;Morita, Lia Hanna Martins ;Tomazella, Vera Lucia Damasceno ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8870556978317000https://lattes.cnpq.br/8952048121396398Conventional reliability analysis techniques are focused on the occurrence of failures over time. However, in certain situations where the occurrence of failures is tiny or almost null, the estimation of the quantities that describe the failure process is compromised. In this context the degradation models were developed, which have as experimental data not the failure, but some quality characteristic attached to it. Degradation analysis can provide information about the components lifetime distribution without actually observing failures. In this thesis we proposed different methodologies for degradation data based on the inverse Gaussian distribution. Initially, we introduced the inverse Gaussian deterioration rate model for degradation data and a study of its asymptotic properties with simulated data. We then proposed an inverse Gaussian process model with frailty as a feasible tool to explore the influence of unobserved covariates, and a comparative study with the traditional inverse Gaussian process based on simulated data was made. We also presented a mixture inverse Gaussian process model in burn-in tests, whose main interest is to determine the burn-in time and the optimal cutoff point that screen out the weak units from the normal ones in a production row, and a misspecification study was carried out with the Wiener and gamma processes. Finally, we considered a more flexible model with a set of cutoff points, wherein the misclassification probabilities are obtained by the exact method with the bivariate inverse Gaussian distribution or an approximate method based on copula theory. The application of the methodology was based on three real datasets in the literature: the degradation of LASER components, locomotive wheels and cracks in metals.Item type:Item, Regressão binária usando ligações potência e reversa de potência(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-07) ;Anyosa, Susan Alicia Chumbimune ;Bazán Guzmán, Jorge Luis ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7302778157579178https://lattes.cnpq.br/9217843169672401The aim of this dissertation is to study a family of asymmetric link functions for binary regression models under Bayesian approach. Specifically, we present the estimation of parameters of power and reversal power binary regression models considering Hamiltonian Monte Carlo method, on No-U-Turn Sampler extension, and Metropolis-Hastings within Gibbs sampling method. Furthermore, we study a wide variety of model comparison measures, including information criteria and measures of predictive evaluation. A simulation study was conducted in order to research accuracy and efficiency on estimated parameters. Through analysis of educational data we show that models using the proposed link functions perform better fit than models using standard links.Item type:Item, A abordagem de martingais para o estudo de ocorrência de palavras em ensaios independentes(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-07) ;Masitéli, Vanessa ;Gava, Renato Jacob ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0494315910583969https://lattes.cnpq.br/2570625768458153Let {Xn} be a sequence of i.i.d. random variables taking values in an enumerable alphabet. Given a finite collection of words, we observe this sequence till the moment T at which one of these words appears as a run. In this work we apply the martingale approach introduced by Li (1980) and Gerber e Li (1981) in order to study the waiting time until one of the words occurs for the first time, the mean of T and the probability of a word to be the first one to appear.Item type:Item, Análise das relações entre práticas de melhoria contínua e desempenho percebido na inovação de produtos e processos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-07) ;Gonçalves, Celso Luiz ;Lizarelli, Fabiane Letícia ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/4525431419326559 ;Toledo, José Carlos dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/9421627326330417The practices of Continuous Improvement (CI) and the Innovation of products and processes get competitive advantage for organizations, in relation to competitors, whether in positioning by low cost or differentiation strategy. These practices need to be managed and integrated in order to ensure, in the long run, the desired results. Although seen as significant for the strategic goals of the organization, often are managed independently and with different goals. There is little consensus in the literature if the use of Continuous Improvement Practices has positive or negative impact on the processes and outcomes of Innovation in firm. However, are observed recurring statements about the necessity of coexistence and integration of CI programs and Practices and Innovation. There is interest in examining what existing relations in the context of organizations that make it possible to identify whether a greater intensity of use of CI practices influences the perceived performance in innovation of products and processes. In order to analyze the possible relations, the study was conducted by survey on a sample of 102 companies of Auto parts, Pharmaceuticals, Electric-Electronics appliances the State of São Paulo in Brazil. The sample data were analyzed by descriptive and multivariate statistical methods (cluster analysis). The descriptive analysis showed significant evidence on integration relations between CI and Product and process innovation, as well as, the IC contribution in creating a fertile environment for Innovation. Multivariate analyzes revealed existence of associations between the intensity of use of IC practices and perceived performance in Innovation, mainly in processes. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the topic and management application in organizations, besides indicating opportunities for further studies.Item type:Item, Geração e difusão do conhecimento : estudo dos relacionamentos no processo de internacionalização da Chery Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-10) ;Françoso, Ana Beatriz Lopes ;Sacomano Neto, Mário ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0000793038362058https://lattes.cnpq.br/6475964807365101When it comes to internalization of companies, there are several factors that drive companies to venture into new markets, such as the increasement of the competition and the facilities of trade and production in other countries. However it is indispensable that the company knows the market in which it will operate. And one of the ways is to establish new relationships with agents in the new country, and so acquire new knowledge that will contribute to the evolution of the internationalization’s process of the company in the new country. This research refers, then to the understanding of how occurs the generation and dissemination of knowledge that is acquired from the relationship inter and intra-organizational level which changes the operation’s mode of the multinational company by the time, within its internationalization process. Through the behavioral theories such as the model of Uppsala, the literature of subsidiaries’ development and relational model, it was possible to analyze the relationships that were articulate by the company and analyze the knowledge for it acquired and disseminated. To conduct the research, a unique case study of qualitative nature was developed, under a longitudinal perspective, which involved a Brazilian subsidiary called Chery Brazil Manufacture Importation and Distribution Ltda., which the head office is a Chinese origin. This present research showed that it is evident that in its internationalization path, the relationships inter and intra-organizational were fundamental to Cherry Brazil, regarding the generation and dissemination of different type of knowledge and these were decisive for the modification of its mode of operation, which secured their stay in the country.Item type:Item, Estudo e descrição de uma nova icnoespécie de artrópode da formação Botucatu (jurássico superior — cretáceo inferior) da bacia do Paraná, Estado de São Paulo, Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-10) ;Peixoto, Bernardo de Campos Pimenta e Marques ;Fernandes, Marcelo Adorna ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/6709493251686592https://lattes.cnpq.br/0573423793948112Here we describe the new ichnospecies Lithographus araraquarensis isp. nov.. A trackway composed by two rows, whose internal width between the rows is less than 1/3 of the external width; with alternating to staggered series, composed of three elliptical tracks that can vary from slightly elongated, tapered or circular. The slabs were found in the Araraquara region, São Paulo State, in the yellowish/reddish sandstones of the Botucatu Formation, interpreted as a testimony of a gigantic aeolian depositional system, a sandsea (erg), with an arid climate that developed during the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous in the Center-South part of Gondwana. Through comparisons with neoichnological studies and morphological deduction, the production of these trackways is assigned to the pterygote insects, which have walked over the unconsolidated sandy substrate. Lithographus araraquarensis isp. nov. was probably produced by beetles that had a flexible diet and were part of the fauna of detritivores omnivores that fed on biomass particles that accumulated in the slipface of the dunes of the Botucatu paleodesert, being able to adopt herbivorous and saprophagous diet when opportune. The description of this new trackway amplifies the knowledge about the faunistic composition of the Botucatu paleodesert and provides subsidies to better understand its paleoenvironment and the ecological relations prevailing at the time. Probably, the producer of Lithographus araraquarensis isp. nov., together with the producers of Taenidium isp. and Skolithos linearis, ware a source of food for primary consumers, represented by arachnids, such as scorpions and spiders, and small mammaliforms. The above trophic level was constituted by theropod dinosaurs of the group Coelurosauria and Carnosauria, and large mammaliforms, which predated smaller theropods and dinosaurs of the Ornithopoda group. Any new occurrences of Lithographus araraquarensis isp. nov. in stratigraphic units of other localities, representing other times, should be analyzed in the light of the ichnofacies model. The recurrence of Lithographus araraquaraensis isp. nov. in aeolian units, and with differentiated abundance in relation to non-aeolian units, could indicate an analogous paleoenvironment to the Botucatu Formation, that is, an arid desert. Both the confirmation and the refutation of recurrence would enrich the theoretical framework of the invertebrate ichnofacies Octopodichnus-Entradichnus for eolian environment.Item type:Item, Efeito do sistema de fermentação, da adição de etanol ao tratamento ácido e da contaminação por Lactobacillus sp na produção de etanol(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-10) ;Costa, Marcelo Augusto de Souza ;Ceccato-Antonini, Sandra Regina ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7600793543184032https://lattes.cnpq.br/4776573073140781The fermentation is one of the most critical steps of the fuel ethanol production. Some factors directly influence the fermentation efficiency, such as the fermentation system, the selected yeast and the bacterial contamination, especially from the genus Lactobacillus. For the control of the contamination, the industries apply antibiotics and biocides, however, these products can result in increased cost and environmental problems for the industry. The use of the acid treatment (sulphuric acid solution, pH 2.0) of the cells between the cycles of fermentation is not always effective to combat the bacterial contamination. In this context, the present study aimed to evaluate the effect of fermentation system – simple batch and fed batch – on the contamination of the sugarcane juice with Lactobacillus sp, in a cell-recycled fermentation with the selected yeast strain of S. cerevisiae PE-2. Following, the effect of ethanol addition to the acid treatment was evaluated to control the bacterial growth in fed-batch system with cell recycle. In the fed-batch system, a higher ethanol production and efficiency was verified, as well as a higher logarithmic variation of the yeast growth. The bacterium L. fermentum was more harmful to the fermentation than L. plantarum, resulting in more sugar left in the fermented must and lower fermentative efficiency, in both systems. The effect of contaminations in the single batch system was higher than in the fed-batch system especially since the substrate feeding allowed a better yeast development, which could be more competitive with the contaminant bacterium. Regarding the modification in the acid treatment performed between the fermentative cycles, only with the acid treatment, the population of L. fermentum reduced almost 3 log cycles at the end of the sixth fermentative cycle, however, when 5% of ethanol was added to the acid solution, the bacterium lost completely the cell viability right after the first fermentative cycle. There was no alteration in the ethanol production in the fermentation contaminated with L. fermentum, comparing the cell treatments with and without the addition of 5% ethanol. The acid treatment + 5% ethanol was able to reduce the population of L. fermentum without impact to the fermentative efficiency and with a low residual sugar concentration in the fermentative must (around 4 g/100 mL), at the end of six ninehour fermentative cycles, in fed-batch system.Item type:Item, Rede de Urgência e Emergência: um estudo de caso na Região Coração do Estado de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-10) ;Pereira, Ana Paula Fernandes ;Lima, Valéria Vernaschi ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7945420582384290 ;Feliciano, Adriana Barbierihttps://lattes.cnpq.br/9398810638733882This study will analyze changes in the implantation of Urgency and Emergency Netwok (RUE) health system in the region of Coração, state of São Paulo, as well as RUE challenges and achievements in this location based on guidelines described in official documentation which organize the implantation of RUE. This investigation was composed of a descriptive and exploratory case study that is based on qualitative research concepts to identify elements for analysis of the implantation, and it was performed in two stages: theoretical analysis and semi-structured interview. The method Analysis of Contents was utilized for data analysis of interviews. Based on information from documents and data analysis of interviews the material was organized in categories and defined in five themes: (1) History of RUE in the region of Coração; (2) Relations between National Department of Health, Regional Department of Health (DRS) and Municipalities in the construction of RUE; (3) Variables contributing to the implantation of RUE, and (4) Co-management as a device contributing to the consolidation of RUE, and (5) Resistance at change in the organization hamper at the process in implantation gives RUE. This study allowed to realize that National Department of Health’s activity is acknowledged both as encouraging and troublesome for the implantation of RUE. Obstacles in the proposition of a health project which could overcome party-political relations and local interests. Sub-funds are a challenge for the realization of RUE especially in small municipalities, and it makes the implantation of local and regional Emergency Mobile Support Service (SAMU) difficult. The study enlists some elements promoting RUE, such as the relevance of scheduled meetings between representative parties of RUE devices and municipalities of the region, the creation of a regulative forum for assessment of distribution and flow of patients, and management resources contributing to the organization of care support inside the “Hospital Entry Doors”. Therefore, this study has showed that financial investments are required in order to implant RUE in this location – one of the difficulties highlighted by municipalities involved – and that a project towards consolidation of Global Care System (SUS) and patient care must be prioritized in relation with local party-political projectsItem type:Item, Utilização do metabissulfito de potássio no processo de fermentação etanólica para controle de leveduras e bactérias contaminantes(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-11) ;Paraluppi, Anna Lívia ;Ceccato-Antonini, Sandra Regina ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/7600793543184032https://lattes.cnpq.br/6027643222021867One of the main concerns in the ethanol-producing industries is the growth control of undesirable microorganisms that can cause decrease in the fermentative yield. Among non-Saccharomyces yeasts which can contaminate the fermentation process, the genus Dekkera is the most important because it is able to grow in fermentation conditions and be adapted to the substrates. Regarding the bacteria, Lactobacillus is the most representative genus. In the wine industry, several antimicrobial agents are utilized to control the undesirable yeast and bacteria populations, among them the sulphur dioxide (SO2) which is used in the form of sulphite salts. However, the microbial control by this substance is not known yet in the sugar and alcohol industries, in which the acid treatment of the cells and antibiotics are largely utilized to control the growth of bacteria. In this context, this work aimed to verify the effect of the addition of potassium metabisulphite (PMB) in two steps of the fermentative process for fuel alcohol production: to the raw sugarcane juice and to the acid treatment of the cells. In the first step, PMB concentration and exposure time to the antimicrobial were determined to cause decrease in the number of native yeast and bacteria in the sugarcane juice. Secondly, the minimum inhibitory concentration of PMB was determined to control the growth of Dekkera bruxellensis, an important yeast contaminant of the alcoholic fermentation, when added to the acid treatment of the cells, both in pure culture and in co-culture with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Lactobacillus fermentum. The effect of this treatment on the fermentative parameters was also analysed. The PMB was effective to control the growth of native yeast and bacteria in the sugarcane juice at the concentration of 800 mg/L with exposure time that varied from 3 to 6 hours, resulting in a maximal reduction of one log cycle for yeasts and from 1.5 to 1.9 log cycles for bacteria. When added to the acid treatment of the cells (pH 2.0), a reduction of approximately one log cycle of D. bruxellensis was verified from the concentration of 225 mg/L of PMB. However, in co-culture with S. cerevisiae and L. fermentum, this concentration also resulted in the decrease of S. cerevisiae cell number, with negative effect on ethanol production. In a cell-recycled batch fermentation, the combination of acid treatment and 150 mg/L of PMB caused a substantial decrease in S. cerevisiae viability as well in the growth of both contaminants, with reduction in the ethanol production and fermentative efficiency. Although the potassium metabisulphite is effective in the context of wine fermentation, it was not appropriate to the fuel ethanol production especially due to the peculiar characteristics of the substrate and the conditions in which the fermentation is carried out.Item type:Item, A construção da imagem de Hugo Chávez por documentários(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-11) ;Paiva, Gabriela Pandeló ;Chaia, Vera Lucia Michalany ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/2351981436811918 ;Azevedo, Fernando Antonio Farias dehttps://lattes.cnpq.br/6291864794986993The 90s in Venezuela consists in the decline of the Punto Fijo Pact, an agreement between the political elites to maintain the democratic order. In the Latin American context, this period, followed by the transition to the 21th century, can be represented by important events such as the rupture with a liberal economy and a change in the political scenario that became more interested with social issues, such as the fight against poverty. In Venezuela, the government of Hugo Chávez, a leader which support divided the nation, represents this political moment. With a controversial representation by many means of communication around the world, the aim of this research is to analyze how his image as president and leader of the Bolivarian Revolution is built. To fulfill these goals, the empirical material used are the following documentaries: "South of the Border" (Oliver Stone, 2010), "Mi Amigo Hugo" (Oliver Stone, 2014) e "Chavez: Inside the Coup" (Kim Bartleyl e Donnacha O'Briain, 2003). These films are imagetic documents pro-Chávez which registry will stay for posterity and its analysis will register the positive aspects of his legacy.Item type:Item, Tecnologia e concepção de sistemas estruturais híbridos de concreto para edifícios de múltiplos pavimentos no Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-11) ;Takata, Leandro Teixeira ;Almeida Filho, Fernando Menezes de ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/0447825383222965 ;Carvalho, Roberto Chusthttps://lattes.cnpq.br/3633394168236221Considered as a modern method of construction (Modern Methods of Construction, or simply MMC), the hybrid construction system presents several advantages over other systems. It combines the benefits of precast construction with the advantages of cast in place with lower costs and higher quality of the elements, in addition to offer competitive (compared to more traditional) structures with good quality and durability. There is a great tendency in construction in trying to use characteristics of different constructive systems that can bring benefits in buildings. In hybrid construction systems, the idea is to use advantages of more than one system with different characteristics. In this work, the proposal is to look for systems, in principle, with characteristics of precast and cast in place, to use them in the same building. Some advantages and disadvantages of this system are presented, as well as the national and international scenario of their application. It is attempted to show from the current condition of civil construction, as it is already possible to apply the union of the two systems: the precast and cast in place concrete for making of vertical constructions. The idea of the work is to present a study of how structures with hybrid construction system can be applied in buildings. The interactions of the chosen systems are studied, how they can be executed in the face of different needs and conditions, and what costs entail the beginning and end of the work. Some examples of calculation are presented to illustrate the differences and similarities with cast in place and precast. An example of the cost between the constructive systems is also presented, so that they can serve as base for an additional option in the definition and choice of the constructive system.Item type:Item, Efeitos de nanodoses do inseticida tiametoxam para a abelha Melipona scutellaris Latreille, 1811 (Hymenoptera, Apidae): da absorção ao orgão alvo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-12) ;Grella, Tatiane Caroline ;Nocelli, Roberta Cornélio Ferreira ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/8934724759636382https://lattes.cnpq.br/7075958229722933The Brazilian bees are responsible for pollinating about 40-90% of native plants according to the ecosystem. Among the species found in Brazil is Melipona scutellaris, eussocial, able to perform pollination by vibration. However, bee populations have been affected by the use of pesticides, such as thiamethoxam, a neonicotinoid and systemic insecticide, that is, its target organ is the brain and it can reach nectar and pollen through the sap of the plant. When the resources are ingested, the active ingredient first comes into contact with the intestine, the organ responsible for digestion and absorption, and then passes into the hemolymph, reaching the Malpighi tubules responsible for their filtration and excretion, as well as the brain, organ target. Due to the importance of understanding the metabolic pathway of this compound, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of nanodoses of the insecticide thiamethoxam in the intestine, Malpighi tubules and the brain of M. scutellaris forages. For this, the bees were collected directly from the colonies and exposed, orally, to sublethal doses of thiamethoxam, LC50 = 0.0453 ng i.a./μL diet; LC50 / 10 = 0.00453 ng i.a./μL diet and LC50 / 100 = 0.000453 ng i.a./μL diet. Then, they were dissected after the start of the exposure times, 1, 4, 8 and 24h, and subjected to the Hematoxylin and Eosin (HE), HSP90 (Thermal Shock Protein) and Tunel (Cell Death Detection Kit) techniques. Through the HE technique it was possible to observe that the higher concentrations caused alterations in the cellular morphology in the three studied organs, such as increased cellular elimination, strongly stained nuclei, loss of cytoplasmic material and chromatin condensation. The HSP90 technique showed an increase in the expression of the heat shock protein according to the increase in concentration at certain times and a balance in its production between the three organs, that is, when the production increases in one organ it decreases in the Other, except for the analysis of the results for the highest concentration, of the longer time in the target organ, which suffered a fall, which may indicate cellular death, which was not evidenced by the Tunel technique in any organ. Thus, we conclude that nanodoses of the insecticide thiamethoxam cause morphological damage, increase the expression of heat shock proteins and can lead to deathItem type:Item, Comparing two populations using Bayesian Fourier series density estimation(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2017-04-12) ;Inacio, Marco Henrique de Almeida ;Izbicki, Rafael ;https://lattes.cnpq.br/9991192137633896https://lattes.cnpq.br/1931901020027887Given two samples from two populations, one could ask how similar the populations are, that is, how close their probability distributions are. For absolutely continuous distributions, one way to measure the proximity of such populations is to use a measure of distance (metric) between the probability density functions (which are unknown given that only samples are observed). In this work, we work with the integrated squared distance as metric. To measure the uncertainty of the squared integrated distance, we first model the uncertainty of each of the probability density functions using a nonparametric Bayesian method. The method consists of estimating the probability density function f (or its logarithm) using Fourier series {f0;f1; :::;fI}. Assigning a prior distribution to f is then equivalent to assigning a prior distribution to the coefficients of this series. We used the prior suggested by Scricciolo (2006) (sieve prior), which not only places a prior on such coefficients, but also on I itself, so that in reality we work with a Bayesian mixture of finite dimensional models. To obtain posterior samples of such mixture, we marginalize out the discrete model index parameter I and use a statistical software called Stan. We conclude that the Bayesian Fourier series method has good performance when compared to kernel density estimation, although both methods often have problems in the estimation of the probability density function near the boundaries. Lastly, we showed how the methodology of Fourier series can be used to access the uncertainty regarding the similarity of two samples. In particular, we applied this method to dataset of patients with Alzheimer.
