Civil construction is one of the activities that generates more jobs in the country, however it still has traditional construction methods, but also with great technological advancement. The number of workers in this area is quite significant, due to the diversity of activities existing in a building. In the case of the reinforcing steel service, tasks are performed manually and request different degrees of effort, which when applied recursively, with tools and equipment unsuitable and inadequate workplace, may cause damage to the health and comfort of workers. In this context, this study aims to relate the ergonomic conditions of the workplace with the productivity of the workforce in the execution of the reinforcing steel service, establishing a cause-effect relationship. Thus, the conduct of this research is based on a field survey in the execution of the reinforcing steel service in 37 construction sites, with the achievement of labor productivity indicators and ergonomic work evaluation based on three ergonomic analysis instruments (Ergonomic Workplace Analysis - EWA, Metabolic Equivalent - MET and Occupational Repetitive Actions - OCRA) and statistical analysis on which ergonomic conditions influence labor productivity, as well as their intensity of influence. The originality of this thesis consists in the establishment of the statistical relationship between the ergonomic conditions detected and the productivity of the labor force in the execution of the beam, column reinforcement service. According to the statistical analysis applied to the sample, the ergonomic conditions resulting from the application of MET and OCRA instruments were found to influence labor productivity, while this influence was not detected statistically through the application of the EWA instrument. As contributions, in addition to establishing an equation for predicting labor productivity based on the ergonomic conditions detected through the application of the ergonomic assessment instruments MET and OCRA, the statistical procedure adopted can also be highlighted, which can be generalized for studies of a similar nature considering other activities of the reinforcing steel service or even other services.

This work sought to rescue important aspects of the history of the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil, located in time even before its effective installation, which occurred only in March 1970. Created from articles 11, 12 and 13 of Brazilian Federal Law 3,835 of 1960, UFSCar would only be installed in 1968, after a series of setbacks that, for many times, almost prevented its effective existence. Throughout its history, however, the University has paid little attention to the preservation of its institutional memory and the recording of the history of the people who have passed through it. In view of this reality, we seek to carry out, within the scope of chapter 1 of this work, a survey of the few official initiatives of historical preservation or relevant personal initiatives that have solidified as fundamental for the creation, in recent years, of a Multidisciplinary Unit of Memory and Historical Archives (UMMA), the first concrete initiative to promote an effective system for creating, processing, and making available historical collections at the University. Then, within the scope of chapter 2, we proposed to create a chronological narrative, after research of various sources, of the events that resulted in the legal foundation of UFSCar. In the eight-year gap between the first legal instrument to cite the institution and the effective creation of the Federal University of São Carlos Foundation, a series of political and academic oppositions proved to be obstacles to the original project. To better understand such oppositions, it was necessary, first, to know the existing environment and the people involved, which is appropriate to the Marxist dialectical method that guided our investigation. Thus, after a summary of the conditions of Brazilian education, from the “nation discovery” to the 1960s, we proceeded to an investigation into the public lives of Ernesto Pereira Lopes and Lauro Monteiro da Cruz, the so “parents” of the project of a Federal University in São Carlos. Having known his probable interests, we started to investigate the opposition to the project, first, from the University of São Paulo, which did not want to add to the new academic initiative its already well-established School of Engineering of São Carlos (EESC). Another opposition, this one of a highly political nature, was created thanks to the actions of Jânio Quadros, then President of Brazil, who proposed the total cancellation of the project, which, however, was reversed by actions of Pereira Lopes and Lauro Cruz within the scope of the National Congress. A third opposition, different from the others, sought not to destroy the University, as the previous intentions did, but to profoundly alter its design and form, taking to the capital of the State of São Paulo the legal structure set up for the first federal university in its boundaries, transforming the São Paulo School of Medicine (EPM) effectively in the new university institution. Those oppositions having been overcome, largely due to Pereira Lopes' insistent will and the parliamentary performance of Lauro Cruz. After this, we proceeded to an analysis of the historical elements related to obtaining the Trancham Farm to become the headquarters of the institution's São Carlos campus. Thus, we make a historical account of the university's first days, even before its effective institutionalization, seeking to assist in the efforts to preserve UFSCar's own memory.

O estatuto da fantasia no corpus teórico freudiano
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2020-11-30) Souza, Pedro Fernandez de; Namba, Janaina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5016873975206205; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9110676482062042
The concept of fantasy was evidently a central point in what is conventionally called “the abandon of the seduction theory”: if until 1897 Freud considered to be true memories that which their patients told him and, as he theorized, lay at their symptom’s origin, henceforth the content of these reports loses the mnemonic status that it previously had, and the ensemble of the representations underlying the neurotic symptomatological formations is considered phantasmatic or even fictitious. Fact is that, although it is one of the major pivots of this theoretic turn of Freud, the concept of fantasy is no thematized by him as one of the epistemological pillars of the nascent theory, nominated psychoanalysis: in some of the moments of acutest theorization, it is not analysed, related to other concepts, nor it is questioned. On the other hand, fantasies pullulate in the analysis of clinical cases or aesthetic works, for example, that which reveals Freud as a skilful fantasies hunter at his analytical practice. In view of this apparent asymmetry, it was established as the main objective of this study to verify the epistemological status of the concept of fantasy within the Freudian theoretical corpus. In order to do so, we parted from the so-called “seduction theory”, summarizing it ant pointing out, within it, the role of three concepts: memory, symptom and desire. After that, we essayed to read and evaluate the theoretical metamorphosis operated with the advent of fantasy; for this, we returned to the three concepts chosen, now however within the psychoanalytical theory. Fantasy revealed to be fundamental (in the strong sense of the word) for understanding the truly psychoanalytical notions of memory, symptom and desire: without it, none of these terms can be comprehended in its entirety. We were able to diagnose, moreover, that it is precisely in virtue of its notable invisibility in the Freudian theoretical formalization that fantasy gains immeasurable importance there: even though it is not a theorization’s central figure, it emerges as a true irrecusable background of the Freudian text. It is as a horizon that fantasy peeps properly: just as it underlies the most varied conscious’ formations (symptoms, dreams, oblivions), it underlies the very meaning of the Freudian word as well. More than a psychoanalysis’ concept and object, for us fantasy represents both its most intimate truth and limit.

Let F be an infinite field of characteristic different from 2. In this thesis we will study the polynomial identities and central polynomials with involution for two important classes of algebras. More precisely, we describe completely the set of all polynomial identities with involution and the set of all central polynomials with involution for the Grassmann algebra E, when the involution * is arbitrary. Afterwards, we describe the set of all polynomial identities with involution for the algebra of upper triangular matrices of order 3, UT_3(F), when F is an infinite field of characteristic p bigger or equal 3 and the involution is of the first type. Finally, given an arbitrary involution of the first type for UT_n(F), with n bigger or equal 3, we verify that its only central polynomials with involution are the trivial ones.

This work aims to analyze and characterize Cosan group’s performance and its strategies from the 2000s, in face of the recent changes in Brazilian agroindustry, based on the hypothesis that those strategies point to an adjustment of the company to a new competitive environment, as a result of the financialization of the world’s economy. In a further moment, we have analyzed the logic that stands in the contemporary sugar-energy industry based on the phenomenon of financialization, given the privileged position of group in the Brazilian sugarcane activity. This research focus on Cosan’s expansion and diversification strategies, in order to map its performance in several economic activities, as so its interactions with many others that somehow connect themselves to the group’s agro-industrial enterprise. Therefore, this work is structured under three specific goals, that represent each of its three chapters, being i) the reviewed reconstruction of Cosan’s trajectory; ii) the description of the holding Cosan Limited’s genesis, mapping its participations and analyzing its strategies; and iii) the analysis of the contemporary dynamics of sugar-energy agrobusiness based on the dominance of the finance. This study counted on a documental analysis of State’s public documents, official announcements published by the group itself, as journalistic reports and bibliographic review. Were used a historical-deductive and inductive approaches, based on the historical-structural method of analysis. It is concluded that the neoliberal adjustment of the Brazilian State forced the integration of Cosan group into the international financial and capital markets, changing the dynamics of capitalist accumulation in the sugar-energy sector and the appropriation of land income.

Social inclusion through work, in the area of mental health, presents itself as a field of research endowed with challenges, as it transcends discussions in health. The debate about the right to work, work with social and affective value points to discussions that have a possible encounter with social technologies in the area of science and technology. The projects that develop work and income generation activities, inspired by the solidarity economy, use associative and cooperative strategies to organize the way the groups work, developing true replicable social technologies. Considering that social cooperativism is a strategy of social inclusion through work for people in social and economic disadvantage, this doctoral thesis aims to analyze the experience of a social technology, in terms of promoting social inclusion through the work and production of Good Living, from the perspective of its participants. This is a case study carried out at the Center for Workshops and Work (NOT), located in the city of Campinas / SP. NOT is one of the psychosocial rehabilitation projects of the Dr. Cândido Ferreira Health Service (SSCF) and aims to offer work and income generation activities to three hundred people in the municipal health network. The research with a qualitative approach, had a semi-structured interview script that was built from the considerations of the Application Manual of the Functionality Classification Table for Mental Health. Ten interviews were conducted, with the criterion of being included in a workshop for at least one hundred and eighty days. The results made it possible to characterize the participants of the research and social technology, with regard to gender, age group, education and time of inclusion in the service. To collect data regarding treatment, such as: place, time and intensity of care, use of medication and type of illness. And also to identify social aspects such as: housing situation and receiving benefits. Through semi-structured questions, it was possible to understand the history and life projects of the participants and thereby analyze the potential of TS-NOT as a promoter of social inclusion through work. The results of the research indicated that the inclusion in work workshops and income generation, within the scope of the production of new meanings of life, promotion of self-care and new sociability, can provide practices of Good Living.
