listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Percepções de professores supervisores do PIBID-UFSCar sobre o conceito de interdisciplinaridade(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Sanches, Raphael Cyrillo Ruiz; Sousa, Maria do Carmo de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6637658562543505; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1513934720001435The research aims to analyze the perceptions of teachers-supervisors of the PIBID-UFSCar about the concept of interdisciplinarity during the planning and execution of their actions. To this end, a group of seven supervising teachers who worked in the PIBID-UFSCar selected by the Capes Edital nº 07/2018 was investigated. The study is qualitative in nature. There were two questionnaires as an instrument of data collection: an open questionnaire composed of six questions about the activities developed by the supervisors who worked in the PIBID-UFSCar subprojects during the 18 months, from 2018 to 2020, and a complementary questionnaire, which aimed to characterize, individually, each of the subjects involved. In analyzing the teachers' speeches, we resorted to the studies of theorists who study the concept of interdisciplinarity, such as Japiassú (1976), Fazenda (1994, 2002, 2011), Pombo (1993, 2005, 2008) and the assumptions of the Institutional Project of the PIBID-UFSCar. The results indicate that most of the supervising teachers consider they have developed interdisciplinary practices and the perceptions about the concept of interdisciplinarity permeate the theoretical assumptions of this research in addition to presenting elements of the institutional project to which they are linked, considering the pillars of collaboration and interdisciplinarity of the PIBID-UFSCar. In general, the concept of interdisciplinarity is understood by the subjects as something that transcends the disciplinary character and integrates two or more disciplines. The collaborative principle is also striking in the speeches of the teachers who highlight the School-University planning and the partnerships with other teachers in the school.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo do desempenho de eliminadores de névoa na fermentação alcoólica extrativa(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Martins, Taise Bonfim; Cerri, Marcel Otavio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7999741482353508; Badino Júnior, Alberto Colli; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6244428434217018; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0269816277533872The ethanol removal by gas stripping with CO2 offers a potential way to minimize the inhibitory effects of ethanol on yeast cells during the alcoholic fermentation, allowing higher ethanol volumetric productivity compared to the conventional process. In the present study, the hydrodynamics and mass transfer characteristics of ethanol stripping with CO2 were evaluated for different models and working volumes of pneumatic bioreactors, 2.0, 5.0 and 10.0 L. Furthermore, mist eliminators were investigated in order to increase the liquid-gas mass transfer as well as to decrease the entrainment of the droplets carried along with the gas stream, allowing a higher ethanol enrichment in the vapor phase. Firstly, the ethanol removal from alcoholic solutions by gas stripping was evaluated for a 2.0 L pneumatic bioreactor operated in bubble column (BC), concentric-tube airlift (CTA), and split-cylinder airlift (SCA) configurations in order to determine the model that allows higher mass transfer coefficients. The results showed that the three pneumatic reactor models promoted the removal of similar amounts of ethanol in the range of specific gas flow rate investigated. The same behavior was observed for the three scales, although the 10.0 L bioreactor allowed a decrease in the water removal. Then stripping experiments in alcoholic solutions were performed using a 10.0 L bubble column reactor and different prototypes of mist eliminators. It was observed that the mist eliminators were able to enhance the mass transfer, resulting in higher ethanol removal coefficients (kE) and ethanol entrainment factors (FAE), compared with the assays carried out without the device. Finally, extractive ethanol fermentations were conducted in a batch mode using the mist eliminator on the top of the reactor. Monitoring the liquid phase during the extractive fermentation showed an increase in ethanol productivity compared to that obtained in the conventional process. This result was due the use of stripping technique along the cultivation, but it was not because of the mist eliminator effect. On the other side, monitoring the vapor phase revealed that the mist eliminator prototype composed by glass spheres decreased the entrainment of the liquid droplets carried along with the gas phase, resulting in lower water content in the gas stream leaving the reactor, compared to that observed in the extractive fermentation performed without the prototype. Therefore, mist eliminators can increase the ethanol selectivity of this separation process, allowing a decrease in the costs concerning the recovery and concentration of the product removed by gas stripping.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Propriedades fotocatalíticas de óxidos mistos preparados por oxidação eletrolítica a plasma (PEO)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Pissolitto, Yasmin Bastos; Mendonça, Vagner Romito de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4270375873948823; Trivinho-Strixino, Francisco; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9740223649776400; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6643775448908096The pollution of drinking water due to industrial activity in recent decades can have consequences for the supply and health of the population. Advanced oxidative processes (AOPs) such as heterogeneous photocatalysis are investigated in the literature for the development of devices and technologies for the treatment of water and industrial effluents. In this work, a semiconductor was developed and its optical and electronic properties were investigated, which allow the application of this material as a heterogeneous photocatalyst in wastewater treatment. Aluminum samples in an electrolyte solution with and without the presence of niobium ammoniacal oxalate (NAO) were anodized by Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) for the adhesion of niobium to the surface of the oxide formed to form the semiconductor. The samples were anodized under galvanostatic mode, with a current density of 10 mA/cm2, for one hour. Using the factorial design tool, the effect of OAN concentration and initial temperature of the electrolyte solution variables on some investigated responses was investigated. Responses of electrochemical synthesis, morphology, composition and band-gap energy of semiconductors obtained from synthesis chronopotentiograms, micrographs, composition by dispersive energy spectroscopy and diffuse reflectance were investigated. It was possible to observe the influence of the variables, in particular the variation in the concentration of the electrolyte solution. Photodegradation tests were performed using methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine B (RhB) solutions at concentrations of 2.5 mg/L and volumes of 5 mL per semiconductor sample under UV radiation. For tests with MB, the increase in temperature and concentration of the electrolyte showed a greater response effect on the heterogeneous photodegradation of MB. It was not possible to reuse semiconductors in MB photodegradation even after cleaning with water, alcohol and acetone. As for the photodegradation of RhB, the sample synthesized under lower conditions of concentration and temperature showed greater photodegradation in the first use after 4 hours under UV light. As for the reuse of samples after cleaning with water, only the sample synthesized under higher conditions of temperature and electrolyte concentration showed significant results in relation to error for up to 3 reuses in the photodegradation of RhB. The study carried out demonstrated the effect of the variables temperature and concentration of the electrolyte on the morphology, composition, and potential for use in heterogeneous photocatalysis.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A gallery walk na educação básica: um olhar para as produções científicas do período de 2010 a 2020(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Correia, Thaís Fernanda de Aquino; Zanon, Dulcimeire Aparecida Volante; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1811225448261362; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6315395363593643The present research had as investigative scope an active teaching strategy called Gallery Walk when inserted in the teaching scope of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Gallery Walk is similar to an art gallery, in which visitors try to understand what the artist expressed through his artistic exhibition. During the activity permeated by this teaching strategy, students can move around the room and talk to their groups with the intention of observing images, posters or even their own work. Along this route, they can contribute with comments, share ideas and request clarification from colleagues about the doubts that have arisen along the way. Furthermore, it is possible that problems-issues or tasks may be introduced to be jointly solved, in order to encourage collaborative work and the active engagement of students. In this sense, this research was guided by the following question: How has Gallery Walk been used in Basic Education, according to scientific productions for the period 2010 to 2020? This research can be characterized as qualitative, exploratory and bibliographical. To answer the research question, a survey of scientific publications was carried out in four online academic search platforms. From a total of 60 items, ten productions were selected and analyzed, as some of them were present in more than one platform. In this way, it was possible to identify the analysis categories for each of the areas. In relation to the area of Mathematics, three categories of flexibility were constructed, namely: broad, intermediate and restricted. And, for Science of Nature, the category entitled walk in the gallery was created. The results point to the positive effects of inserting this active teaching strategy in teaching and learning contexts, especially for the two areas mentioned, in addition to demonstrating the gaps in academic productions about Gallery Walk in Brazil and abroad. Therefore, this research recommends the production of new research on the theme Gallery Walk in other online platforms and filters, as well as works in different areas of knowledge.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Inteligência emocional em vítimas de violência por parceiros íntimos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Ribeiro, Amanda Reis; Muniz, Monalisa; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9444899939943716; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8415401459211322With the awareness and consequent increase in complaints, it is known that violence by intimate partners (IPV) is still a reality for many people, especially women, the main victims of this phenomenon. Many studies report the harmful effects caused by violence. In addition to possible physical damage, violence directly affects the way these victims act in the abusive context, for example, dealing with their emotions. The perception, use, understanding and regulation of emotions are aspects studied by the theory of emotional intelligence. Therefore, one can question the way emotional intelligence is presented in women that live in a violent context. Considering the importance and lack of studies on this topic in Brazil, the aim of this study was to investigate aspects of emotional intelligence in women who report having been victimized by any type of violence by an intimate partner, as well as in women who report having practiced some form of violence against their intimate partners. For this, in a sample of 100 women, with a mean age of 28.19 years (SD = 10.3), IPV behaviors (practiced and suffered) were verified, then were analyzed with the results of the emotional intelligence profile obtained. by different evaluation methods (performance and self-report). The instruments used were the Conflict Tactics Scale (CTS2), to verify violence in intimate partner relationships, as well as emotional intelligence assessment instruments, the Emotional Intelligence Assessment Battery - BIE (performance measurement) and the Emotional Skills Inventory - ICE 3.0 (measurement by self-report). The results suggest that there was a pattern of greater frequency and greater severity of violent attitudes practiced against women, although more participants reported having practiced IPV than suffered. As for the emotional intelligence profile, the data obtained by the BIE and by the ICE demonstrate a conformity of the sample means in relation to other studies that applied these tests in other samples. In addition, the study found that the facets related to Emotional Regulation were similarly conceptualized in self-report and performance tests, contradicting studies in the field that demonstrate different results between the performance EI test format and the self-report format. The data found also indicate an important negative association of EI skills, specifically those related to Emotional Understanding and Regulation, with the practice and victimization of intimate partner violence, especially with psychological aggression. These findings are found in both correlation analyzes and tests of mean differences between groups of participants. Contrary to this, the correlation results suggest that Emotional Regulation is also positively associated with violent practices, when the analyzes are performed considering the consensus calculation. However, Emotional Regulation (general, without the consensus calculation, as well as the second factor of the facet) was also associated with greater use of negotiation tactics by participants' partners in tests of mean differences between participants. Except for its limitations, this research intends to contribute, through these findings, to the discussion and understanding of both the emotional intelligence construct and intimate partner violence in Brazil, being a pioneering research in the country.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Isolamento e seleção de microrganismos de cana-de-açúcar com potencial de promoção de crescimento vegetal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Bezerra, Gabrielle Alves; Rosa-Magri, Marcia Maria; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4166319985147604; Ceccato-Antonini, Sandra Regina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7600793543184032; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7692836325833917Plant growth promoting microorganisms (PGPM) are known to establish positive relationships with plants. They can inhabit the soil, the rhizosphere and the interior of plant tissues, making up a large part of the plant microbiota. They act in favor of plant nutrition, with nitrogen fixation and/or mineral solubilization, in the production of phytohormones, in the control of pathogens, and/or in the promotion of plant tolerance to abiotic stresses. These microorganisms have provided positive results in several economically important crops and can act as an alternative to the use of chemical inputs, minimizing production costs and making agricultural practices more sustainable. Therefore, this work aimed to isolate and analyze microorganisms from soil, rhizosphere and sugarcane root endosphere, to prospect bacteria, fungi and yeasts with potential to promote plant growth. The samples were plated on NA (bacteria), PDA (filamentous fungi) and YEPD (yeast) medium. Morphologically distinct colonies were isolated in pure culture and analyzed for their ability to produce indoleacetic acid (IAA), solubilize phosphate and control the development of phytopathogen Fusarium verticillioides. A total of 281 isolates were obtained, 112 from the soil, 96 from the rhizosphere and 73 from the sugarcane root endosphere. A prevalence of bacteria (223 isolates) was observed, followed by filamentous fungi (60 isolates) and, finally, in a smaller number, yeasts (9 isolates). Among the mechanisms evaluated, there was a greater number of AIA producers isolated from the endosphere, a greater number of phosphate solubilizers isolated from the soil, and a greater number of antagonists to the phytopathogen isolated from the rhizosphere. Bacteria also stood out in all evaluated mechanisms, probably due to their prevalence in the studied environments. Few isolates showed more than one plant growth promotion mechanism. The ENDO26 bacterium, isolated from the endosphere, was the only one that showed positive results for the three growth promotion mechanisms. In addition to ENDO26, two other isolates were selected: SOL88, a yeast isolated from soil, which showed positive results for phosphate solubilization and AIA production, and RIZ85, a fungus isolated from the rhizosphere, which produced AIA and presented antagonism against the phytopathogen. These three isolates were evaluated on a plate with Arabdopsis thaliana, to verify their ability to promote plant development, however, they did not promote the plant growth in vitro. The identification of isolates and more in-depth tests with other plant species are necessary to verify the potential for using these strains as plant growth promoters.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Fenômenos de desigualdade: uma investigação sobre a segregação socioespacial na Vila União, Zona Norte de Sorocaba(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Lomardo, Juan; Burgos, Rosalina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0430255108623706; Carril, Lourdes de Fátima Bezerra; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0328730975862213; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7993150759633407The present research consists of an effort to debate the concept of socio-spatial segregation, with the observations carried out in the Vila União occupation, located in the North Zone of the municipality of Sorocaba, in the countryside of São Paulo. Based on what was verified in the place, the notion of segregation of segregation is used, analyzed based on the concepts of reproduction of urban space and unequal geographic development. Understanding the urbanization process in capitalist society as critical urbanization, the aim of the research was also the counter-hegemonic possibilities of the place, visualized in the resistance actions of the population of the Vila União occupation.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Uma investigação (Nano)sintático-semântica das preposições espaciais do português brasileiro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Ferreira, Thayse Letícia; Wachowicz, Teresa Cristina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4288926144523462; Basso, Renato Miguel; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6984826176670527; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2072872902614187Spatial prepositions have been one of the greatest puzzles in linguistics in the the past few decades. In this thesis, we contribute to the understanding of this class, by investigating place (`em'/`in', `entre'/`between') and path (`de'/`from', `desde'/`starting from', `por'/`by', `a'/`to', `para'/`towards', `até'/`up to') prepositions in Brazilian Portuguese (BP), along with the so-called complex prepositional phrases, such as `in front of'. Within the theoretical framework of Nanosyntax and Formal Semantics, we explore an articulated hierarchy of features for the spatial domain, associated with the class of prepositions, as well as we provide for each of these terminals a semantic interpretation in terms of a lambda calculus. This thesis seeks, in the Montaguian spirit, to investigate spatial prepositions in an interpretable formal(syntactic) system. In this framework, then, we suggest, at the theoretical level, that spatial prepositions select as their internal argument a spatial entity of an abstract level, referring to a kind. Given that the preposition's internal argument, named GROUND (Talmy, 2000), denotes a spatial kind, this element requires an instantiation, that has to be given by a predicate capable of providing an exemplar of the kind, role assigned precisely to spatial prepositions across languages. Hence, we discuss the nature of the preposition's internal argument and revisit the role of the spatial preposition in natural languages, which becomes a kind-level predicate and can't be seen anymore just as a relational predicate between any type of entity. Assuming, then, that there are spatial entities in our ontology that can be manipulated by specific predicates, we propose that these entities are created by a syntactic head called Region [Reg], initially suggested by Romeu (2014). [Reg] is in our proposal a free access operator, responsible for taking an entity with reference in the individual domain, of type , and converting this entity into the space that the individual occupies, its region, of type . The spatial preposition, next, through [LocP [PP]], selects and instantiates the spatial argument, making it compatible with the subsequent derivation. Still at the theoretical level, we suggest that the axial part terminal [AxPart], suggested by Svenonius (2006), cannot be an independent element in the syntax, since all the arguments raised by the author to defend its functional nature in fact only prove their kinship with the noun class. Thus, the notion of axiality involved in prepositional phrases such as `in front of' can be seen as part of the concept associated with each lexical item. Along these lines, `front' can be analyzed as a relational noun, which allows us to create spatial entities in the same way from simple names, like `house', and complex ones, like `front of house'. At the empirical level, we analyze cases of syncretism and competition between BP prepositions, thus seeking an individuation of each item in terms of fine-grained properties. We observe that for locative PPs there is not much in the formal structure that governs their behavior, this class is mainly restricted by the concept, which separates `in' as a non-projective preposition from `between' and phrases such as `in front of', `next to', among others, classified as projective. Path prepositions' behavior is not governed by the concept, but by terminals of the functional sequence, in such a way that the Bound head systematically blocks the cases of possible syncretisms in the class, preventing the building of sentences such as ``*Ana left/is since home'', with a locative reading. When exploring a formal model to the grammar architecture, we are able to observe, then, that the behavior of spatial prepositions depends not only on the computation features, but also on our world's knowledge, via the notion of concept.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Produção enzimática de compostos de valor agregado a partir do destilado da desodorização do óleo de soja(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Vieira, Ana Carolina; Vieira, Angélica Marquetotti Salcedo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8930542097391008; Tardioli, Paulo Waldir; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0808991927126468; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8128188297748490The use of by-products (or residues) is sought in an industrial process in order to transform them into a value-added product. In the soybean oil refining industry, deodorization distillate (SODD) is a by-product with great biotechnological potential due to its high content of glycerides and tocopherol. This work aimed to evaluate the potential application of SODD in the production of biodiesel and xylose fatty ester (ester with surfactant/emulsifying properties) through the enzymatic route. SODD was physicochemically characterized, presenting a high saponification index due to the high content of acylglycerides (approximately 85 wt.%), mainly long-chain (C18). An experimental design showed that temperature of 35 °C, enzyme concentration of 8.36 wt.% and molar ratio of 3.64: 1 (ethanol: SODD-SP) were found as the best conditions for the production of fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEEs) from the SODD saponifiable phase (SODD-SP), yielding a product with up to 90.8 wt.% ester yield after caustic treatment to reduce free fatty acids. The SODD saponifiable phase was hydrolyzed with free lipases and, later, the free fatty acid rich material was used to produce ethyl esters and xylose fatty esters. The hydrolysis step yielded saponifiable materials with 72.5 wt.% and 84.4 wt.% of free fatty acids (FFAs) after 48 h of hydrolysis using the lipases Eversa (liquid lipase formulation of Thermomyces lanuginosus from Novozymes A/S) and PFL (Pseudomonas fluorescens lipase), respectively. The simultaneous esterification and transesterification reaction of the latter material with ethanol yielded a product with 81.5 wt.% of esters, 8.3 wt.% of unconverted glycerides and 10.2 wt.% of FFAs. In the case of xylose ester syntheses, the immobilized lipases used allowed to obtain xylose conversions of up to 89.2% (using PFL in this case). The behavior of the consumption of xylose and FFAs suggested that a mixture of mono-, di- and triesters was produced, containing mainly unsaturated alkyl fractions linked to xylose. The emulsifying capacities (EC up to 12%) showed potential application of the crude products as biosurfactants.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Síntese de derivados de asparaginas não-naturais N4-substituídas e modificação de peptídeos: adição fotoredox de radicais carbamoil à dehidroalanina(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Pissinati, Emanuele Ferrari; Paixão, Márcio Weber; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3773908504964104; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3201282953820524The development of sustainable methodologies for the synthesis of byologic relevant molecules is of great importance for both, academia (especially in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry) and pharmaceutical industry. Thus, the use of visible light in synthesis of new compounds and systems with high degree of structural complexity has allowed the design of new methodologies. A special emphasis can be given to the use of photocatalyzed reactions in synthesis of unnatural amino acids and in modification of macromolecules. For these reasons and the efforts of our research group in development of photocatalyses process, was performed in this research project the synthesis of unnatural Asparagine N4-substitued, as well as late-stage peptides modifications through photochemical methodologies metal-free photocatalysts, thus allowing the obtainment of more economical, efficient and environmentally favorable strategies. For this, it was used the unnatural amino acid dehydroalanine (Dha), as a radical acceptor molecule, 4-carbamoyl-dihydropyridines as a source of carbamoyl radicals and the organic photocatalyst 4CzIPN. 22 examples of carbamoyl radicals could be obtained and added to Dha, with yields until 97%. Moreover, one dipeptide that contained the Dha fragment in N-terminal position could be functionalized with yield of 65%. These results were able to demonstrate the robustness of the method and the high potential to be applied to more others peptides, as well as proteins.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Implantação da infraestrutura de saneamento básico em áreas urbanas de ocupação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Albuquerque, Priscila Gomes Pereira de; Santos, André Cordeiro Alves dos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2131880667704281; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1847442621698141The present work was carried out with the residents of Jardim Ipiranga, a district located in the city of Sorocaba, which had its urbanization through the occupation of an area where a farm was located. Broadly aimed to understand and analyze the process of implementing the basic sanitation infrastructure, focusing on water distribution and sewage collection and treatment in the context of the struggle for the right to the city. The research was characterized by a qualitative approach, through a case study and used the interview technique, which took place after approval by the UFSCar ethics committee. This study demonstrated that the urbanization process was implemented in a context of struggles for rights, through the manual labor of the poor inhabitants, who carried out the task of deforestation, self-construction and opening of streets for the installation of sanitation pipes. It was also concluded that the urbanization of the area had the no-institutional and veiled participation of the government and that the process of implementing the basic sanitation infrastructure took place in two stages, until the entire completion of this implementation, the residents used different strategies for access to water and sewage drainage.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desmatamento e intensificação de uso da terra na reserva da biosfera da floresta Mbaracayú, Paraguai por meio de imagens de satélite(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Velázquez Silva, Luis César; Sais, Adriana Carvalieri; Cherubin, Mauricio Roberto; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0115095851353833; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5804627494380130; Stolf, Rubismar; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2436951279203355; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8834285898517365Changes in land cover and land use have severe impacts on the provision of ecosystem services, with the monitoring of changes in the landscape thus acquiring a preponderant role in achieving sustainable development. In this work, we evaluate the change and intensification of land use in the Mbaracayú Forest Biosphere Reserve in Paraguay, using satellite images on a 20-year time scale, processed with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). We observed a 42% decrease in native forest and an increase in the productive area of 174% from 1999 to 2019, together with the intensification of land use within the reserve. It is important to carry out a detailed assessment of the reserve's preservation actions, especially those related to soils, and to continue monitoring processes, together with the projection of new management alternatives for the reserve's buffer and transition areas.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desenvolvimento de banco de dados para seleção de porta-enxertos de citros em duas regiões do Estado de São Paulo visando à qualidade da fruta(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Carmello, Fernanda Cristina; Cristofani-Yaly, Mariângela; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7829946393687571; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4963026188555680In the state of São Paulo, citrus growing has expanded throughout the state in areas that comprise the citrus belt, divided into five sectors which, in turn, are subdivided into 12 regions. This division took into account the characteristics of soil, climate and historical aspects related to the development of citrus production. Therefore, there are edaphoclimatic differences that influence the quality of the fruit. The rootstocks and their interaction with the scion variety also have an important influence on the quality of the fruit. This work sought to identify, among new varieties of canopy/rootstocks from Citrus breeding program of Sylvio Moreira Citriculture Center of Agronomic Institute (IAC), those that best meet the needs of citrus growers. In order to optimize the breeding programs, the objective was the development of a database and a software that use data of quality analyzes of the fruits, such as size, soluble solids content, juice and industrial yield, observing the variability and allowing the selection of best combinations of scions and rootstocks. The influence of 20 rootstocks on the physicochemical characteristics of Pera sweet orange trees, grafted as a scion cultivar, cultivated in the regions of Barretos (northern region of SP) and Gavião Peixoto (central region of SP) was evaluated. The variables studied were: total soluble solids (TSS), pH and total titratable acidity (TTA), juice yield and technological index in data accumulated in 2018 and 2019. The design used was a randomized block design, with 20 treatments (rootstocks). The results allowed us to conclude that there are statistically significant differences between locations, genotypes and there is an interaction between genotypes and environments. Thus, there are genotypes that are more suitable and more genetically stable for each of the regions. With the results of the technological index (IT) or industrial performance, the ideal genotype for Gavião Peixoto was citrandarin 26 and for Barretos, citrandarin 47. The database helped in the organization and visualization of the results of the evaluation of the quality of the fruits.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Docência na socioeducação: desafios e possibilidades na atuação junto a adolescentes privados de liberdade(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Carvalho, Juliana Maria de Almeida; Sant'Ana, Izabella Mendes; lattes.cnpq.br/7860235863062183; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8950181023083385This study aimed to investigate the understanding of teachers about their role in socio-education, specifically at Fundação CASA. As specific objectives, the following were defined: to know the challenges, possibilities, and needs of teachers to work in socio-education, as well as to understand the perceptions of teachers about the contribution of education in this context to the rehabilitation of adolescents. With this in mind, semi-structured interviews were carried out with seven professors who work at an institution in the interior of São Paulo. The research was based on the Historical-cultural Theory, which is based on historical-dialectical Materialism. The results obtained indicate that the interviewees' reports pointed to different conceptions of socio-education, approaching from law enforcement to its political and social dimension. The peculiarities of the teacher's work in Adolescent Detention Centers were related to the difficulties encountered and included the very condition of students' deprivation of freedom, the existence of learning gaps, issues related to the devaluation of the teaching work, and, mainly, the procedures institutions that generate tension between faculty and staff. As potentials and possibilities of educational work, the construction of identity and strengthening of teacher self-esteem and the significant learning of inpatients were highlighted. Other aspects mentioned referred to changes in teacher practice with the onset of the pandemic, as well as the need for specific continuing education to work in the area. It is argued that the teaching performance in socio-education is marked by several challenges, among which the precariousness of the teacher's work evidenced by the type of employment relationship of these professionals with the Department of Education, which has historical origins, but which is not restricted to this professional field.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Prática educativa de docente de ciências na inclusão escolar de estudante com deficiência intelectual(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) França, Beatriz Segantini; Galvani, Márcia Duarte; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6866106661255961; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0181013736702944School inclusion is present in Brazilian legislation and calls for the education of people with disabilities to be, preferably, in regular schools, being a responsibility of the entire school community, including Science teachers. The general aims of this study was to analyze the educational practice of teaching in the Science discipline in view of the school inclusion of students with intellectual disabilities in the presential and emergency remote teaching. Having as specific aims: (a) characterize the objectives, contents, resources, activities and other ele-ments that may be present in the teaching educational practice of the Science discipline; (b) verifying how the evaluation process takes place in the teaching educational practice of the Science discipline; (c) analyze how the components and processes of the teaching educational practice of the Science discipline are worked with students with intellectual disabilities. Therefore, a qualitative case study was carried out using three data sources: analysis of writ-ten and audiovisual documents, non-participant observation and a questionnaire. Data collec-tion took place both in presential teaching and in emergency remote teaching in 2020. Partici-pated in this research a Science teacher who teaches in a private school in the interior of the state of São Paulo, for a group of 7th grade of elementary school, in which a student with in-tellectual disabilities is enrolled and attending. The results showed a teaching educational practice based on standardized teaching and elaborated by the Apostolate Teaching System adopted by the private school. The practice of the participating teacher aims to transmit the contents present in the school handout, through expository activities and reproduction. The teacher makes adjustments regarding the level of deepening of the contents and difficulties of the activities, exclusively for students with intellectual disabilities. Although the participating teacher seeks to ensure curriculum accessibility for such a student, the data show the absence of Special Education professionals, which are also provided for in Brazilian legislation and who contribute to the process of school inclusion. This configuration of teaching educational practice was found both in presential teaching and in emergency remote teaching.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação de propriedades mecânicas e características metalúrgicas da liga multicomponente Cr₄₀Co₃₀Ni₃₀ processada em escala semi-industrial(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Pereira, Vitor Deghaid; Zepon, Guilherme; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7924187202036614; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5852-9076; Coury, Francisco Gil; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8609825406277730; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0457-2087; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5704100945260317Differently from the classic concept of alloy design, which is based on selecting a main element and adding others to guarantee specific properties, a new strategy has been used in recent years for the so-called multicomponent alloys or high entropy alloys, which do not have a single main element. The most famous and commonly studied was the Brian Cantor’s alloy Fe20Cr20Mn20Ni20Co20, which shows a face centered cubic structure and excellent properties at room and cryogenic temperatures. Further studies showed that the ternary equiatomic alloy Cr33Co33Ni33 had a strength and ductility combination superior to that of the quinary alloy, indicating that the mechanical strength is not only a function of the number of elements, but also of the type of element used, with Cr being the most promising in increasing the alloy strength. Based on previous research, the Cr40Co30Ni30 (% atomic) alloy was chosen to be studied in this work. The composition was produced on a semi-industrial scale, in ingots weighing approximately 50 kg. The material was homogenized, hot worked by forging and rolling, heat treated and mechanically tested. The mechanical properties were evaluated by tensile, hardness and Charpy-V impact tests at ambient and cryogenic temperatures, on the hot formed and heat treated conditions. It was verified that the melting method and raw material purity used in the melting operation have a direct effect on the type and quantity of inclusions formed. Moreover, despite the material showing good mechanical properties, its production by hot forming is challenging, once it has a strong tendency to surface defects below 900oC.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo da cinética de cristalização não-isotérmica de nanocompósitos de PLA/Haloisita(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Biazin, Guilherme Gonçalves; Marini, Juliano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4533610255047654; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2351-3477; Costa, Lidiane Cristina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8246109223926480; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0280-6994; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7791735776006799; https://orcid.org/0009-0005-9950-3031Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is a biodegradable and biocompatible thermoplastic obtained from renewable sources and with similar properties when compared with petroleum-based polymers. The inclusion of nanoparticles is an alternative that has been shown to be efficient in improving the technological performance of polymeric matrices, producing innovative materials. Halloysite nanotubes (HNT) have great potential for use in PLA nanocomposites, mainly for applications in the biomedical and packaging sectors. Processing conditions (time, temperature, type and deformation rates) and the presence of nanoparticles can affect the PLA crystallization kinetics and, consequently, the product properties (mechanical, thermal, optical, diffusion, biodegradability, etc.). In this work, PLA/HNT nanocomposite filaments were produced by twin-screw extrusion, with different contents of both the PLA D-stereoisomer and HNT, and their influence on thermal, rheological and non-isothermal crystallization kinetics (under quiescent and flow-induced conditions) of PLA was evaluated. TGA, DSC and rheometry analyzes were performed. It was found that the thermal stability of PLA matrices was not influenced by the presence and content of HNT. All nanocomposites showed predominantly viscous behavior, and the increase in the HNT content led to an increase in the storage modulus in oscillatory regime, at low frequencies. Non-isothermal crystallization models, such as Jeziorny, Ozawa and Mo, were applied, showing that the growth of PLA crystals is mostly three-dimensional. It was found that the D-stereoisomer content has a more significant influence on the non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of PLA than the presence or content of HNT.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Improving data locality of bagging ensembles for data streams through mini-batching(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Cassales, Guilherme; Senger, Hermes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3691742159298316; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6191125593821481Machine Learning techniques have been employed in virtually all domains in the past few years. In many applications, learning algorithms will have to cope with dynamic environments, under both memory and time constraints, to provide a (near) real-time answer. In this scenario, Ensemble learning comprises a class of stream mining algorithms that achieved remarkable predictive performance. Ensembles are implemented as a set of (several) individual learners whose predictions are aggregated to predict new incoming instances. Although ensembles can be computationally more expensive, they are naturally amendable for task-parallelism. However, the incremental learning and dynamic data structures used to capture the concept drift increase the cache misses and hinder the benefit of parallelism. In this thesis, we devise a method capable of reducing the execution time and increasing the energy efficiency of several bagging ensembles for data streams. The method is based on a task-parallel model capable of leveraging the natural independence of the underlying learners from this class of ensembles (bagging). The parallel model is combined with a mini-batching technique that can improve the memory access locality of the ensembles. We consistently achieve speedups of 4X to 5X with 8 cores, with even a superlinear speedup of 12X in one case. We demonstrate that mini-batching can significantly decrease the reuse distance and the number of cache-misses.We provide data regarding the trade-off regarding the reduction of execution time with a loss in predictive performance (ranging from less than 1% up to 12%). We conclude that loss in predictive performance depends on dataset characteristics and the mini-batch size used. We present evidence that using small mini-batch sizes (e.g., up to 50 examples) provides a good compromise between execution time and predictive performance. We demonstrate that energy efficiency can be improved under three different workloads. Although the biggest reduction in energy consumption happens in the smallest workload, it comes at the cost of a big delay in response time, which may hinder the idea of real-time processing. In the higher workloads, however, the proposed method presents a better performance in both the energy consumption and the delay in response time when compared to the baseline version. We evaluate our method using many hardware platforms, with a total of six different hardware platforms used among all experimental frameworks. At the same time, we use up to six different algorithms and up to five different datasets on the experimental frameworks. By providing data about the execution of the proposed method in such a wide range of setups, we believe that the proposed method is a viable solution for improving the performance of online bagging ensembles.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Comportamento de ligações aço-concreto reciclado por meio de adesivos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Andrade Filho, Paulo Eduardo Soares; Nardin, Silvana de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5587716781980132; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2780499625349657In a steel-concrete composite members, it’s essential that there is a connection between the materials so that there is a joint behavior that makes them capable of jointly resisting the solicitant efforts. To do this, they are usually connected by mechanical devices such as stud bolts connectors. However, this type of connection has some problems such as the concentration of shear stresses at the interface, and the need for welding that introduces residual stresses and degrades the steel. Therefore, in the last two decades, studies have evaluated adhesive bonding as a possible bonding alternative for composite steel-concrete elements, especially in composite beams. Simultaneously, research about the use of concrete with aggregates of concrete waste has been carried out to alleviate the impact of civil construction on the environment. There is a need to reduce the extraction of natural resources and minimize the volume of solid waste from this sector that is discarded. Thus, the objective of the present work was to analyze the behavior of the steel-concrete adhesive bond made with epoxy adhesive and whose concrete contains recycled concrete aggregate (RAC). Through push-out tests, the influence of the thickness of the adhesive on the bond and the type of concrete (natural aggregates or RAC) was evaluated. Specimens with steel-epoxy-steel and steel-epoxy-concrete connections were evaluated by means of push-out tests using the following variables: adhesive thicknesses of 1 mm and 3 mm and replacement contents of 30% and 100% of the coarse aggregate natural by ARC. The results showed a direct relationship between the increase in adhesive thickness and the shear bond strength for both bonds: steel-epoxy-steel and steel-epoxy-concrete. Regarding the use of RCA in concrete, no significant difference was observed in the results of the ANOVA analysis of variance, however there was a trend towards a reduction in the bond strength with the use of RCA. Finally, the steel-concrete adhesive bonding showed to have an adequate behavior for use in composite steel-concrete elements, mainly because it considerably reduces the relative displacements between the materials.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Para entender o repertório linguístico no ensino superior tecnológico: conversa entre a translinguagem e a educação sociocomunitária(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-08-27) Souza, Lilian de; Paula, Sandra Regina Buttros Gattolin de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9228036521343293; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6325869374940996This thesis presents the results of a research that investigated the role of named languages in Spanish learning, supported by translingual practices and socio-community education. The investigation took place in a context of teaching languages for specific purposes, in the Spanish class, inserted in the higher course of Events (formation of the Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure axis, acting in the organization and execution of events), at the Faculty of Technology of the State of São Paulo. The researcher observed, in foreign language classes, the incidence of the use of Portuguese during the activities, as well as other languages that are part of the linguistic repertoire of the students, thus, the Translanguaging theory was used in the studies developed by Canagarajah (2011) García (2014) and Li Wei (2017), who recognize the linguistic repertoire that each individual has to communicate, in a movement that transposes the languages with which they have contact, in order to make themselves understand and understand the other , regardless of the named language used. To help in the quest to understand the adaptations and uses of each subject's repertoire, Social and Community Education was used, which according to Bissoto (2012, 2016), Groppo (2013), Gomes (2008), Antônio (2012) and Miranda (2016) it is understood as a process of listening to different voices that configure the subjects, in an articulation between teaching and community, a socializing education. Translanguaging and Sociocommunity Education can compose a new discussion on education, as both highlight the need for the participation of the family and the community in the construction of knowledge, aiming at a society of greater equity. The research sought to investigate the role of the linguistic repertoire in Spanish learning from the perspective of translingual practices and socio-community education, in order to know how and at what time Brazilian students resort to the use of their mother tongue and/or other languages in the context of teaching languages for specific purposes, in addition to what would be the students' own perception of this phenomenon. The study follows an ethnographic-based qualitative methodology, which listens to the voice of all participants through an interview conducted by the researcher, on the analysis of the transcript of the virtual interaction carried out in pairs and which gave rise to the videos that comprised an evaluation activity of the subject. Data generation took place in four stages, namely: i) conducting a conversation in pairs recorded on video and sent to the teacher; ii) transcription of all recordings by the researcher teacher and subsequent return to the respective pairs; iii) reading and notes by students about the transcribed dialogue; iv) individual interview with each participant, in order to know their perceptions about the notes made both by the teacher and by themselves. The results of this investigation allowed a better understanding of the adaptations and the role of the Portuguese language, as well as the other languages that are part of the linguistic repertoire of students involved in foreign language learning.
