listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O ensino de urgência e emergência no internato médico: memorial de formação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Obelenis, Monise Siquette; Neves, Fábio Fernandes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2652568399519714; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6021492910162551Learning about urgencies and emergencies is of great importance for medical training, and it is possible to observe a progressive increase in emergency care in Brazil and the world. There are, however, some gaps in medical schools regarding the urgent and emergency teaching of students throughout their graduation. Thus, this course completion work aims to compare the training memorial of a medical student at the Federal University of São Carlos about her experiences in Urgencies and emergencies in the medical internship with the best didactic recommendations teaching urgency and emergencies in medical schools. The search was carried out in the student's files, including the graduation portfolio and a literature search in PubMed, LILACS, and SciELO. This search made it possible to identify the student’s impressions regarding urgency and emergency teaching in the medical internship and the best teaching recommendations. It is possible to conclude that teaching Urgency and Emergencies at UFSCar presents a comprehensive and diversified approach; however, there are still some structural weaknesses, with the student’s lack of experience in scenarios in Emergency Care Units (UPA) and low exposure to the experience of emergencies and pediatric and gynecological/obstetric emergencies.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estabilidade microestrutural da liga Cu-0,8Cr-0,07Zr após extrusão em canal angular em temperatura criogênica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Oliveira, Pedro Henrique Fernandes; Magalhães, Danielle Cristina Camilo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5486724956564584; Sordi, Vitor Luiz; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8364164402481940; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6906616294534939Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) are well established routes with regard to the intense microstructural refining of metals and alloys up to the submicrometer (< 1 μm) and/or nanometer (< 100 nm) scales. Lowering the processing temperature is also a way to increase the severity of the imposed strain, favoring strengthening and grain refinement. Therefore, it is expected that the combination of SPD and temperatures on the cryogenic scale allow obtaining materials with higher strength. However, severely deformed microstructures at cryogenic temperatures have limited use due to their microstructural instability, a consequence of the high internal energy stored as crystalline defects (vacancies and dislocations). In order to study the mechanical behavior at low temperature and design severely deformed microstructures that are stable in the long term, the present work investigated the Cu-0.8Cr-0.07Zr alloy after Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) processing at -80 °C, in terms of microstructural stability, comparing it to pure copper processed under the same conditions. Regarding the mechanical behavior of the studied alloy, it was defined that there is the occurrence of both dislocation slipping and mechanical twinning, depending on the level of deformation and temperature. Post-ECAP results indicated that for the Cu-0.8Cr0.07Zr alloy it was possible not only to overcome the obstacle of microstructural instability by post-processing cryogenic ECAP processing, but also to provide an additional increase in the yield stress (+ 22%). Both effects were possible due to the formation of chromium-rich precipitates on a severely deformed microstructure, which hindered the movement of dislocations and grain boundaries. Thus, this set of results allowed us to understand about the strengthening mechanisms, microstructure evolution and thermal stability of the Cu-0.8Cr-0.07Zr alloy, useful for practical applications of materials processed by cryogenic DPS.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Situação problema zero: reflexões acerca da graduação em medicina através de metodologia de aprendizagem baseada em problemas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Brida, Fernanda Dermando; Neves, Fábio Fernandes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2652568399519714; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1045978309557870INTRODUCTION: Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a teaching method that emphasizes learning through problem-solving. Medical education allows interdisciplinary content integration, making more straightforward clinical reasoning during learning, teamwork skills development, exposing ideas and arguments, critical insight about knowledge sources, and autonomy and proactivity development. Nonetheless, it is a methodology that demands an adaptation period that can bring students anxiety and insecurity. EXPERIENCE REPORT: In the first cycle of Medicine School of São Carlos Federal University (UFSCar), which comprises first and second years, my adaptation was challenging, with the first year being filled with anxiety, quitting wishes, and not belonging feelings. Throughout graduation, I began to adapt to the methodology, understanding the importance of its functioning, acquiring autonomy, perfecting my interpersonal skills, improving clinical reasoning, and developing more humanizing doctor-patient and doctor-family relationships. Despite the 2020 and 2021 COVID-19 pandemic adversities, I believe that ABP was a good influencing factor in my medical formation, not feeling damage over practical activities grew apart or over not habitual functioning of the health systems. CONCLUSIONS: To have covered this six-year journey, gathering knowledge and skills, and with them, learning to be more human in a patient-family relationship and to face adversities, so finally I can practice medicine brings a feeling of closure mixed with relief and expectations of what is to come.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Catalisadores NiFe/MgAl2O4 em reações de reforma a vapor: propriedades estruturais e catalíticas em função da composição Ni:Fe e temperatura de reação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Lara, Thais Paula Nogueira; Bueno, José Maria Corrêa; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0157452280626031; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9889214612048325This thesis evaluated the application of Ni-, Fe- and Ni-Fe/MgAl2O4 catalysts in Ethanol Steam Reforming (ESR), Ethanol Steam Reforming with hydrogen gas (ESRH), Methane Dry Reforming (RSM), Methane Steam Reforming (RVM) and Methane Bi-Reforming (BRM) reactions evaluating the influence of reaction medium composition and Ni:Fe ratio on the catalytic behavior. Two series of NiFe/MgAl2O4 catalysts were prepared, the first keeping the Ni content at 8 wt.% and varying the Fe content, and the second keeping the total metallic content fixed at 15 wt.%. The properties of the catalysts were investigated by X-ray diffraction, N2 physisorption and temperature-programmed reduction. The characterizations showed the formation of high purity support with high surface area. Although the iron catalyst had low activity in methane reforms, the Ni and NiFe catalysts were active in these reactions. The addition of iron increased the conversion of methane on RVM, indicating the iron-promoter character on this reaction. Ethanol catalytic tests were carried out under ESR conditions (H2O/C2H6O ratio equal to 3) and in ESRH (ESR strongly reduced by the addition of H2) between 250 and 650 °C. In situ XRD and in situ XANES analyzes were performed during the reduction in H2 and in the ESR and ESRH reactions to evaluate the catalyst dynamics under these conditions. The addition of iron reduced methane production and carbon deposition, increasing stability in ESR. The bimetallic catalysts formed the NiFe2O4 phase which, when reduced, formed the NiFe alloy. When the catalysts were placed in contact with the ESR reagents, partial oxidation of nickel and iron particles occurred at low temperatures, reducing the catalytic activity. As the temperature increased, nickel particles reduced and activity increased. Iron particles were more susceptible to oxidation, migrating to the surface in the form of oxides and partially segregating from the alloy. This small oxidation favored the catalytic stability by reducing the carbon production compared to the catalyst that contained only nickel. The intensity of this process depends on the composition of the reactants and catalysts. In ESRH, the oxidation process of the particles was milder, stabilizing the catalyst structure and increasing the activity at low temperatures. In this way, it was possible to evaluate that the composition of the reaction medium and the metallic charge influenced the catalytic performance.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Reflexões sobre a graduação: trajetória pessoal no curso de Medicina da UFSCAR(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Ramos, Emerson Pereira; Marcomini, Luis Antonio Gorla; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9815884474929428The completion of course work is an instrument that, through narrative and theoretical background, allows the student to describe the medical course at the Federal University of São Carlos. The present work is a training memorial carried out according to the UFSCar medical course project, which seeks to discuss this questioning. A reflective narrative about the events and motivations that shaped a medical student and his decisions, in addition to two non-systematic reviews in the Scielo and Pubmed databases about the views, presented. With this, it allows revisiting and re-signifying academic experiences, relating them to the process of developing their preferences and their current reality. It also presents the views of Brazilian and foreign academics, who, despite having different values, have similar dilemmas. Thus, armed with the author's experiences and reflections, in addition to the perspectives of other undergraduates, the reader can elaborate their answers to the presented question.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Investigação do efeito alelopático dos extratos da aroeira-preta Myracrodruon urundeuva Freire Allemão no desenvolvimento das sementes das braquiárias Urochloa decumbens Stapf e Urochloa brizantha (Hochst. ex A. Field observations indicate that Myracrodruon urundeuva shows allelopathic effects on Urochloa species. However, there are no data on literature describing the allelopathic effects for different tissues of aroeira-preta, neither the classes of secondary metabolites involved on those interactions. In this study, the allelopathic effect of the crude extracts and fractions of leaves, branches, stems and roots of M. urundeuva was evaluated into seeds germination and seedlings growing of U. brizantha, U. decumbens and Lactuca sativa. Chemical composition of these extracts were analyzed by UHPLC-ESI-QTOF. This was the first study of aroeira-preta using the Global Natural Products Social Molecular Networking (GNPS) platform and Feature-Based Molecular Networking (FBMN) as metabolomics tools for compounds annotation. Fifty-five secondary metabolites, distributed in eight different classes of compounds, were annotated, which twenty were annotated for the first time for M. urundeuva. Crude extracts and fractions inhibited seeds germination and development. The ethyl acetate fraction of roots showed a higher activity, inhibiting seeds germination at concentrations of 100 and 50 mg/mL and roots development in all tested concentrations, i.e., 100, 50 and 25 mg/mL. This fraction was characterized by dimeric chalcones urundeuvines as their majoritary compounds.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Minha trajetória no curso Medicina UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Pereira, Vinicius Miranda; Adler, Ubiratan Cardinalli; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7366046180927920; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9741351346697595This paper intends to narrate the 6-year trajectory of a medical student at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos. Thus, more sustainable production technologies, such as integrated crop-livestock-forest (ICLF), have been considered technological alternatives that allow the intensification of land use, ensuring gains, due to increased productivity, while they guarantee environmental benefits, such as reducing the causes of physical, chemical and biological soil degradation. Therefore, the present document delimited priority areas for the transfer of ICLF technology in the Pirajibu-Mirim River Watershed, proposing a methodology based on the strategic planning of technology transfer, using multi-criteria analysis in a geographic information system. Institutions that could help with this technology were also recognized. Different institutions need to fortify their relations with rural producers, and their intra and inter-institutional relations to transfer the ICLF technology so that this study points out that the farmers in the area under analysis have difficulties regarding access to infrastructure, assistance, and technical information, factors-key to the adoption of the ICLF. A mobile application was developed as a proposal to centralize data from institutions that work in agricultural research and development, as well as rural information and technology transfer, facilitating farmer’s access to this data.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Uma arquitetura não intrusiva e reativa para realizar o processo ETL em tempo real em ambientes de data warehousing(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Vilela, Flávio de Assis; Ciferri, Ricardo Rodrigues; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8382221522817502; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2197526092157235There is a great interest in obtaining data that support the decision-making process in business. These data are available in data sources in the operational environment, which are autonomous, heterogeneous, and distributed. The data are extracted through the Extract, Transform, and Load process (ETL) and stored in the informational environment in a homogeneous, integrated, and dimensional database called data warehouse. The ETL process traditionally takes place at predefined periods, such as daily, weekly, monthly, or according to the organization's data update rules. However, there are applications that need operational data as quickly as possible or immediately after the data is available from data sources. Examples of these applications are medical systems, highway control systems and digital farming systems. Therefore, the traditional ETL process and currently available techniques are unable to make the data available for decision making in real-time, ensuring availability, low elapsed time, and scalability. This work presents an innovative, non-intrusive and reactive architecture, called Data Magnet, from which it is possible to perform the ETL process in real time in data warehousing environments. The non-intrusive feature means that the solution does not need to search for data in the operating environment and, therefore, it is not necessary to make a connection with the data sources or deal directly with the heterogeneity of the data. The reactive feature indicates that the solution will react to events in the operating environment and perform an automatic action in order to guarantee real-time requirements. Two experimental tests were performed, the first one in a real environment in the field of dairy farming, and the second one in a synthetic environment, in order to assess the Data Magnet with a high volume of data. In addition, the Data Magnet produced a good performance with low elapsed time, guaranteed availability and great scalability as the data volume increased. The Data Magnet also produced a huge performance gain for the average metric with regard to the traditional trigger technique commonly used in real-time ETL process.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Influência da composição da mistura reacional no desempenho de catalisadores NiFe/MgAl2O4 em reações de reforma(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Lara, Thais Paula Nogueira; Bueno, José Maria Corrêa; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0157452280626031; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4229-1112; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9889214612048325This thesis evaluated the application of Ni-, Fe- and Ni-Fe/MgAl2O4 catalysts in Ethanol Steam Reforming (ESR), Ethanol Steam Reforming with hydrogen gas (ESRH), Methane Dry Reforming (RSM), Methane Steam Reforming (RVM) and Methane Bi-Reforming (BRM) reactions evaluating the influence of reaction medium composition and Ni:Fe ratio on the catalytic behavior. Despite the interactions between the intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms have been widely studied, little is known about the long-term effects low carb/high fat diet (LCHF) and resistance training (RT) in the cardiovascular risk. AIM: To investigate the long-term effects of low carb/high fat diet, associated or not to RT, in chronic inflammation, cardiac remodeling, fibrosis and cardiac left ventricle hypertrophy. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Thirty-six male Sprague Dawley rats were submitted to 21 weeks of standard diet or LCHF diet and, randomly assigned in four groups: i) Control Diet-Sedentary (CONT-S n=9); ii) Control Diet-Trained (CONT-TR n=9); iii) LCHF Diet-Sedentary (LCHF-S n=9) e; iv) LCHF Diet-Trained (LCHF-TR n=11). The two training groups performed 3 training sessions weekly (4-9 climbs with load progression), 48 hours apart. We performed qRT-PCR (TNF-α, Osteopontin, MCP-1, CTGF, TGF-β, MMP-2, TIMP-1 and 2, COL-I), Elisa (IL10), zymography (MMP-2 and 9), collagen fiber content (picrosirius stain), cardiomyocyte hypertrophy (hematoxylin-eosin stain), heart and left ventricular weight. RESULTS: No differences between all groups were found for MMP activity and IL-10, cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, collagen fiber content, heart and left ventricle weight and gene expression of TNF-α and CTGF. Gene expression of TGF-β, Osteopontina, TIMP1 and 2, and COL-1 were lower for the LCHF-Diet groups compared to CONT-Diet groups. Only the expression of MCP-1 was greater for the LCHF-Diet groups compared to CONT-Diet groups. No significant effects were observed for RT. CONCLUSION: We suggest that LCHF diet seems not to promote adverse effects on heart health regardless RT practice, at least for the diet, RT mode and time used herein.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Minha trajetória até me tornar médico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Mendes, Márcio Sampaio; Marcomini, Luis Antonio Gorla; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9815884474929428The Medicine Course at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) aims to provide a global, humanized, ethical, critical and reflective medical education, making use of real (or simulated) hypotheses for teaching, which encourage the development of a critical-reflective resource, in a Constructivist spiral, with active teaching methodology (PBL). It is organized according to longitudinal and complementary educational units, structured based on the expected performance of students. The Course Conclusion Work (TCC) is an assessment instrument and consists of a critical-reflective narrative about the student's experience with the learning process over the 72 months of graduation, with care for people and with the work in the health system. By the end of the course, I can measure how much I have grown, personally and professionally. Each step of this journey was extremely important for the construction of the Doctor that I will become. I feel privileged and blessed by the opportunity to live the experience of becoming a doctor in a public university, free and a world reference.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Burnout em estudantes de medicina: uma vivência individual e coletiva(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-12-20) Navarra, Laura; Neves, Fábio Fernandes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2652568399519714; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2457688782813612The term burnout encompasses three symptoms: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal derealization. In medical students, the estimated global prevalence of burnout is 44.2%, which is considered high when compared to the student population of the corresponding age group. Therefore, as it is a prevalent disorder and related to psychiatric comorbidities and impairment of professional performance, the present course conclusion aims to study the risk factors, incidence, complications, and possible strategies for preventing burnout in Brazilian medical schools. A brief bibliographic review was carried out through the PubMed platform, based on eight articles chosen as suitable for the research. As inclusion criteria, studies published in the last five years were selected, classified as systematic reviews or meta-analyses, having as object of study only medical students, restricted to the western hemisphere. In addition, to enrich the reflection on the subject, the proposal is associated with executing a reflective memorial relating the trajectory in graduation in the medicine course of the Federal University of São Carlos, in the period from 2016 to 2022, with the object of study.
