Four characters were selected from each publisher, being heroes with disabilities who obeyed the following criteria: Relevance and possible implications that would have on the representation of disability, type of disability, and the amount of information available about he. A table was created containing the main information for each of the characters such as codename, publisher, how they acquired their disability, occupation, powers and abilities. The results point to situations that, sometimes, cover up the disability, passing the story through the myth of compensation and reducing the disability in order to overcome it with skills that compensate some lack, erasing the various social, physical and attitudinal barriers existing bodies for people with disabilities, as if bodies with disabilities do not could fully establish themselves in the heroic subject without making the need for major correction such as gaining super-powerful prostheses or superhuman abilities that compensate for the deficiency.
