Percepções dos enfermeiros sobre advocacia em saúde em pacientes hospitalizados: revisão integrativa

Abstract

Objective: to identify and analyze the scientific evidence on health advocacy in the perception of patients and nurses in the hospital environment. Methods: integrative literature review, carried out in three databases PubMed, Scielo, CINAHL and LILACS, through the guiding question What is the scientific evidence on health advocacy in the perception of patients and nurses in the hospital environment?. Results: of the 18 studies included, most publications occurred in the years 2013, 2015 and 2016. Health advocacy has been the object of study in different countries. Contributions to practice: the recognition of nurses' actions in the defense of hospitalized patients constitutes progress in the area of nursing and a reflection of attitudes towards other professionals in the health team. Conclusion: the studies of this review allowed us to identify that, in different parts of the world, the health advocacy of hospitalized patients by nurses comprises actions that promote the right to health, life and dignity, as well as guidelines for professionals aimed at autonomy and decision-making. of patient decisions.
