listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Coletivo de Estudos e Ações Indígenas (CEAI): da resistência à afirmação - A Coleção Retomadas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Souza, Diogo Bandeira de; Marques, Sílvio César Moral; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2460-9083This research aims at studying resistance and affirmation movements developed by Coletivo de Estudos e Ações Indígenas (CEAI), linked to an extension course at Department of Letters at Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa/Paraná (UEPG). I highlight that among these movements, the Retomadas Collection will be my main source of analysis and reflections, as it corresponds to the affirmation of the indigenous people who study at the aforementioned educational institution. However, I warn that the Retomadas Collection, as well as the CEAI, are composed of UEPG students only, nor only by indigenous people. However, the works in the Retomadas Collection are exclusively written by indigenous people and I dedicate an entire chapter of the thesis to them, as they materialize, in my opinion, the decolonial struggle at the university, giving new meaning to the canonical concept of episteme, as well as allowing the university an alternative of alternatives. As a theoretical-methodological reference, I bring the epistemologies of the South, with Boaventura de Sousa Santos as the main name, as well as the other authors from the decolonial perspective, with emphasis on the indigenous researchers at CEAI.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Poliedros regulares e semirregulares: um estudo com experimentos em sala de aula(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Seisdedos, Vanessa Cristina Correa; Sampaio, João Carlos Vieira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8286887389013685; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0318-6790; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8493087356295139; https://orcid.org/0009-0006-1381-3248This study highlights the importance of using concrete materials in teaching polyhedra, both regular and irregular, based on a literature review and practical experiences. However, despite the EWGSOP2 proposing handgrip strength (HGS) cutoff points to indicate muscle weakness, there is no consensus on what would be the best cutoff point, nor is it known how the use of cutoff points other than those established by the European consensus can modify the prevalence of sarcopenia and its associated factors. Objective: To compare the prevalence and factors associated with sarcopenia, having the definition of weakness established by two different cutoff points for HGS. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with data from 7,065 participants from the ELSI-Brazil Study aged ≥ 50 years. Sarcopenia was defined by the EWGSOP2 criteria and using two cutoff points for HGS: <27 kg and <16 kg or <36 kg and <23 kg for men and women, respectively. After establishing the prevalences of probable sarcopenia, sarcopenia and severe sarcopenia using both cutoff points, two mutinomial regression models were performed to analyse which sociodemographic, behavioral and clinical factors would be associated with each of these conditions. Results: Higher cutoff points for HGS implied a higher prevalence of probable sarcopenia (40.1 versus 10.6%), sarcopenia (5.0 versus 1.4%) and severe sarcopenia (8.8 versus 3.9%). Regardless of the cutoff point used to define weakness, increasing age increased the chance of presenting all states of sarcopenia (probable sarcopenia: HGS <27/16 kg OR=1.03 CI95% 1.02-1.04 versus HGS <36/23 kg OR=1.05 CI95% 1.04-1.06; sarcopenia: HGS <27/16 kg OR=1.08 CI95% 1.05-1.10 versus HGS <36/23 kg OR=1.10 CI95% 1.08-1.12; severe sarcopenia: HGS <27/16 OR=1.13 CI95% 1.11-1.15 versus HGS <36/23 kg OR=1.17 CI95% 1.15-1.19). Sedentary lifestyle (HGS <27/16 kg OR=1.44 CI95% 1.18-1.77; HGS <36/23 kg OR=1.25 CI95% 1.07-1.47), longer duration of diabetes (HGS <27/16 kg OR=1.02 CI95% 1.01-1.04; HGS <36/23 kg OR=1.03 CI95% 1.02-1.05), spine osteoarthritis (HGS <27/16 kg OR=1.28 CI95% 1.04-1.58; HGS <36/23 kg OR=1.16 CI95% 1.01-1.33), stroke (HGS <27/16 kg OR=3.12 CI95% 2.05-4.75; HGS <36/23 kg OR=2.31 CI95% 1.55-3.43), osteoporosis (HGS <27/16 kg OR=1.41 CI95% 1.12-1.77; HGS <36/23 kg OR=1.27 CI95% 1.05-1.53) and low income (HGS <27/16 kg OR=1.49 CI95% 1.10-2.02; HGS <36/23 kg OR=1.41 CI95% 1.08-1.83) were associated with a greater chance of probable sarcopenia, regardless of the HGS cutoff point, being low income (fifth quintile: HGS <27/16 kg OR=1.95 CI95% 1.05-3.61; HGS <36/23 kg OR=1.78 CI95% 1.22-2.59) also associated with severe sarcopenia. Better memory performance reduced the chance of presenting probable sarcopenia (HGS <27/16 kg OR=0.92 CI95% 0.89-0.94; HGS <36/23 kg OR=0.93 CI95% 0.91-0.95) and severe sarcopenia (HGS <27/16 kg OR=0.86 CI95% 0.81-0.91; HGS <36/23 kg OR=0.92 CI95% 0.88-0.97), regardless of the cutoff point adopted. The risk of malnutrition and malnutrition were associated with greater odds of sarcopenia (risk of malnutrition: HGS <27/16 kg OR=2.96 CI95% 1.58-5.53; HGS <36/23 kg OR=3.31 CI95% 2.45-4.46; malnutrition: HGS <27/16 kg OR=4.96 CI95% 1.95-12.58; HGS <36/23 kg OR=6.19 CI95%3.91-9.81) and severe sarcopenia (risk of malnutrition: HGS <27/16 kg OR=1.80 CI95% 1.23-2.64; HGS <36/23 kg OR=2.45 CI95% 1.89-3.17; malnutrition: HGS <27/16 kg OR=6.45 CI95% 4.18-9.94; HGS <36/23 kg OR OR=11.23 CI95% 7.90-15.96), while being female (HGS <27/16 kg OR=0.42 CI95% 0.24-0.73; HGS <36/23 kg OR=0.53 CI95% 0.38-0.75) reduces the odds of having sarcopenia at both cutoff points. Conclusion: Adopting higher HGS cutoff points to define weakness, the prevalence of probable sarcopenia and sarcopenia quadrupled, while the prevalence of severe sarcopenia doubled. The factors associated with sarcopenia states are similar regardless of the HGS cutoff point adopted. Research with tropicalized lettuce cultivars is non-existent, making it necessary to improve baby leaf production using artificial lighting in order to find the ideal PPFD. The objective of the present work was to verify whether lettuce genotypes respond differently to PPFD, in order to find the best PPFD and the best genotypes. The experiments were conducted at the IAC indoor laboratory in Campinas SP. Four treatments were distributed in the cultivation racks, in randomized blocks, with PPFDs of 80, 110, 140 and 170 µmol m-2 s-1, respectively. In the first experiment, eleven genotypes and one commercial cultivar were used and in the second, with the same irradiances, three genotypes were used, selected from the first. In both cases, assessments of canopy height, number of leaves, fresh and dry matter mass, productivity and instrumental color were carried out. Only in the second, analysis was carried out on leaf area, total chlorophyll a and b content, carotenoids, moisture, ash, pH, total titratable acidity, total soluble solids and sensorial. In the first experiment, it was possible to observe an interaction between the genotypes and the PPFDs, referring to the observed characteristics. In the second experiment, there was no difference between lettuce genotypes for agronomic characteristics, however, for the PPFDs applied, 170 µmol m-2 s-1, guaranteed the highest plant productivity (3.54 kg m-²), higher levels of chlorophyll a (0.43 mg g-1) and greater preference among consumers. Therefore, genotypes 281-3-2-2 (curly), 293-6-1-1 (mimosa) and 204-1-1-1 (smooth) are recommended, conducted with a DFFF of 170 µmol m- 2 s-1 in an indoor cultivation system for the production of lettuce baby leaves, as they all presented the best values for the analyzed characteristics.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Práticas de desafios matemáticos como introdução à Probabilidade(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Tokuda, Douglas Suzuki; Salvador, José Antonio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2487171069472158This work aimed to expand and develop methods for teaching and learning of Mathematics, in particular, seeking possibilities for introducing probabilities for Basic Education through the use of mathematical challenges and their practices. In this way, this research report follows the precepts of a documentary analysis with the general objective of describing and analyzing the structure of the Brazilian and German educational systems, seeking to understand similarities and distances from the regulations through which special education is articulated, based on of the Salamanca Declaration and as specific objectives: a) map the state, in both countries, with the highest number of overall enrollments; b) analyze legislative proposals on the educational system: Declaration of Salamanca; Federal Constitutions, Law of Guidelines and Bases of Education and Special Education Policy, of the two countries, in addition to the documents released by the State Department of Education and State Council of Education of the chosen federative entity and c) characterize and contextualize the perspective of the right to schooling of people with disabilities in Brazil and Germany. To this end, an analysis was carried out on documentary, public archive and written sources. As results, we can summarize that, although both countries claim to ensure the right to education for all, it is possible to observe that an educational system strongly focused on professional and economic training, such as the German one, may present disadvantages in terms of equal access. . On the other hand, in Brazil, the educational situation faces substantial challenges, including poor infrastructure, lack of teacher training and marked inequalities between public and private schools. These factors contribute to an environment where many students face difficulties in accessing quality education for all, exacerbating existing disparities.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desafios da Educação Infantil em tempos pandêmicos: afetividade e acolhimento(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Moda, Julia Niero; Santos, Maria Walburga dos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2954227254025696; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9304-5800; Camargo, Andréia Regina de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0936098182171676; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1158-2814; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4664212425315823; https://orcid.org/0009-0004-1658-7034The present undergraduate thesis aims to understand the issue of affection and reception of children in Early Childhood Education, as well as the challenges faced by this stage of education to exercise them during the pandemic period. The lack of effective legislation and specific conservation initiatives are notable challenges. While there are educational efforts, the prevailing conservation approach requires a more critical perspective. The conclusion emphasizes the need for a multidimensional approach, involving effective policy implementation, innovative environmental education strategies and the promotion of sustainable practices to preserve not only the biodiversity, but also the long-term health of the Sorocaba River ecosystem.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Bibliotecas vivas resistem: ações promovidas pela Biblioteca Sinhá Junqueira no combate às desigualdades(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Santos, Gabriele da Silva; Gracioso, Luciana de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4898201916360294The aim of this paper is to understand the impact of the "living library" model, which is geared towards combating the inequalities of minorities and vulnerable groups. We will defend the living library model as a library format that provokes resistance from people who have historically been excluded from their rightful democratic spaces. The model aims to respond to these demands through access to information, education, literature and participation in decision-making. Therefore, based on the partial case study of the Sinhá Junqueira Library, we will present the socio-cultural actions that serve and represent this section of society, and which are based on the Sustainable Development Goals and the IFLA- UNESCO 2022 Public Library Manifesto. The research is based on an exploratory and qualitative bibliographic review, with an extensive search for literature on "living libraries" and information mediation. It was possible to observe the importance of the practice of information mediation carried out in favor of social protagonism, aiming to increase the participation of different minority groups in the construction of the BSJ, which implies the improvement of the lives of the subjects of these groups. We conclude that the living library is a non-traditional, contemporary library model that expands the horizons for the debate on the future of libraries and contributes to reducing inequalities.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Evolução do e-commerce no Brasil: uma análise entre os anos 2000 e 2022(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Julião, Bianca Ponce; Carrara, Aniela Fagundes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2348376949393246; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3131-2344The e-commerce sector has been prominently emerging in the Brazilian economy over the years. With the increase in the number of digitally generated and processed images in various areas, from medicine to the automotive industry, Linear Algebra has become even more important, allowing the representation and manipulation of images as numerical matrices. To understand how the relationship between Linear Algebra and digital images works, it was necessary to study the history and essential concepts of this area. In addition, we will explore the applications of matrix operations in digital image processing, with examples to illustrate the development of techniques in images. A practical application of Linear Algebra in Decomposition by singular values will also be presented, which is a technique that facilitates the compression and reconstruction of images, in addition to helping with transportation. This paper aims to present the basic techniques of digital image processing, to provide a solid basis for future studies and, finally, to explore the geometric part of Linear Algebra in the context of digital image processing.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Incomensuráveis: abordagem dos números irracionais na educação básica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Favalli, Déborah; Venezuela, Antonio Luís; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8722224671269332; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7323-6207This study addresses the construction of numerical sets, with particular emphasis on irrational numbers, in order to examine their teaching in Brazilian Basic Education. The research begins with a review of the historical and conceptual foundations of irrational numbers, highlighting the discovery of incommensurables in Ancient Greece. The analysis of basic education textbooks reveals superficial and fragmented approaches to irrational numbers, affecting students’ conceptual understanding. The importance of adopting a historical-epistemological approach to contextualize irrational numbers and avoid circularity in the definition of real numbers is also discussed. It is concluded that the teaching of irrational numbers needs to be rethought, seeking a more meaningful and in-depth approach, valuing teacher training, and promoting the use of technological resources and problem situations to stimulate conceptual understanding and the solving of mathematical problems.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Violência relacionada ao trabalho em saúde: vivências dos trabalhadores de enfermagem(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Albuquerque, Bianca Biason; Sato, Tatiana de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3456494998257229; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8797-8981; Mininel, Vivian Aline; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4557060516800427; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9985-5575; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0285861534066776To understand violence related to health work from the perspective of nursing workers. Method: This is a qualitative study which was carried out at different points in the Health Care Network, without a geographical cut-off, with nursing professionals who had previously taken part in the study "Association between psychosocial aspects and sleep characteristics with musculoskeletal symptoms and depression in health workers - a longitudinal study" and had indicated that they had suffered some kind of offensive behavior at work. Data was collected through individual online interviews guided by a script with semi-structured questions. The data was recorded, transcribed and analyzed using thematic content analysis. Results: 38 nursing workers (89.5% female) had suffered some kind of offensive behavior at work, 23 nurses, 12 technicians and three nursing assistants. All were invited to take part in the interview, but 28 did not return their messages, one indicated that they did not wish to be contacted and two refused to take part, making a total of seven participants. Three categories of analysis emerged from the interviews: violence in practice and its impacts; health management as a cause of violence; health education as a way of combating violence. Conclusion: The findings of this study show the reality experienced by nursing workers in relation to work-related violence, providing support for discussion of the subject and the development of strategies that contribute to the development of preventive measures.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Resiliência e funcionamento familiar no contexto de álcool e outras drogas: estudo correlacional(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Soliman, Giulia Agatha; Zerbetto, Sonia Regina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1282433435871232; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2522-1948; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2625704825996728; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2832-4325The family unit in the context of dependence on psychoactive substances suffers impacts on its functionality, which requires it to seek to reorganize, face and manage such adversities, in order to stabilize itself emotionally and functionally, overcoming such difficulties and strengthening its resilience. This context brought with it feelings of fear, uncertainty, and anxiety, among other emotional and psychological aspects that deserve attention. Faced with these profound changes in the global educational landscape, some educators were able to explore educommunicative practices as an essential tool in the context of remote or hybrid teaching. This research aims to investigate at the intersection of communication, education, and art how the use of audiovisual materials can contribute to the potential of young people in both formal and non-formal educational spaces. To do so, as part of the methodological process, we conducted a brief review of the state of the art in the Proceedings of Scientific Congresses, as well as semi-structured interviews. These interviews were carried out with young individuals who participated in the Experiment Workshop, an initiative that emerged in response to the interruption of in-person classes due to the pandemic. Considering the profound impacts of the pandemic on education, this research adopts an interdisciplinary approach, drawing inspiration from participatory research and incorporating a feminist research perspective. We believe that the results of this study can contribute to the accumulated knowledge about educommunication, art education, and youth. We also assess that this work can significantly strengthen the formation and exercise of active citizenship for adolescents, as well as promote an emancipatory education for all individuals. Through the theoretical framework and writing of this dissertation, we also seek, in a special way, to highlight the role of women in science.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A história e cultura indígena pós lei 11.645/2008 nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental: uma análise do manual para o (a) professor (a) do livro didático da coleção Pitanguá Mais - História(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-07) Baptista, Karen Cristina Santos; Souza, Geraldo Tadeu; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3516168011612531; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1352-0027; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2840558187480954; https://orcid.org/0009-0004-9813-4513This course completion work has the general objective of analyzing how indigenous themes are presented in the manuals for teachers of the textbooks in the Pitanguá Mais - História collection for the initial years of Elementary School. The analysis covers both the proposals for the students and the guidance provided to the teachers. The research, of a documentary and bibliographic nature, is also dedicated to the study of legal and normative documents that mark Brazilian education, such as Law nº 11,645/2008 and the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), seeking to highlight how the mandatory implementation was of teaching indigenous History and Culture and its impacts on national education. As a result of this research, we aim to highlight the contributions of the Pitanguá Mais – História collection to the work with the theme of original peoples and also point out other resources to complement the work of the teacher in the classroom, always keeping in mind that teaching children about the different cultures and ethnicities present in the country is an important step in deconstructing prejudices and stereotypes.
